UFC Fight Night 19 confirmed for Oklahoma City on September 16

UFC Fight Night 19, which will serve as the lead-in for the upcoming tenth season of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 10, will be held at the Cox Convention Center on September 16, according to Tulsa World.

The promotion last visited "The Sooner State" way back in December of 1994 with UFC 4 from the Expo Square Pavilion in Tulsa. Royce Gracie cruised to victory that night in "Revenge of the Warriors."

Mixed martial arts has come a long way in 15 years.

The Cox Convention Center has a capacity of 15,000 and will join Colorado, Nebraska, Florida and Tennessee as recent additions for the "Fight Night" series.

UFC President Dana White had gone on record as early as July of 2008 with his intentions of traveling to Oklahoma City. Now with a slam-bang season of TUF to follow (thanks largely in part to his acquisition of former Elite XC headliner Kimbo Slice), Fight Night 19 is sure to get some major exposure.

As of now, newly signed heavyweight Mike Russow and Ronnys Torres are the only names tentatively attached to the card.

Keep it locked in to MMAmania.com for more details on UFC Fight Night 19 as they develop.

Anyone going to Bellator on June 19th in Hollywood, FL?

Anyone who doesn’t know about Ronnys- get ready for a new terror to hit LW. He’s like a Thiago Tavares 2.0, just absolute sick skills. (Btw, i hope thiago can get over his mental hump, this kid shines like a p4p fighter when he’s on but that robbery against griffin really messed him up.)

I’ll be there with my girlfriend, section 103 row d :)

We’re flying up there (from Grand Cayman) to go watch it, then back Saturday afternoon because Proving Ground V (Cayman MMA event) is on that day lol.

This will be a “can’t-miss” season of TUF forsure!

It was very intruiging when it was Evans/Jackson ALONE, but now they bring in the most overhyped can in HW MMA.

i respect him tho as he is not talking too much sh*t and is just trying to make it!

props for the effort but he is going to get his a$$ kicked UFC style! lol

Can you imagine the possible HOURS of shit talking and charisma between Rampage/Evans?Kimbo??

LMFAO

But in reality, he will probably win his entrance fight based on the fact they will give him a can to up their PR train for this season!

Either way i just hope they don’t waste to much spotlight on him!

Anyone know how much tickets are for the UFC fight nights or at the least the range of prices?

by sdow on Jun 2, 2009 9:28 PM EDT reply actions

I cant remember exactly how much, but I think it was around 150 for me. something like that. It was mid range too. Like, walk in the arena, and not climb any stairs to get to the seats.

by Synyster on Jun 2, 2009 9:52 PM EDT up reply actions

…there were $20 tickets in Nashville and $60 was a decent seat.

Sucks to live wherever you live.

by Lunchbox on Jun 2, 2009 11:39 PM EDT up reply actions

Do you live in the Okc area sdow?

What!? Oklahoma City?! B.S…..They better come to Kansas City, Mo!

by xxBAxx816 on Jun 2, 2009 10:05 PM EDT reply actions

Yeah… Kansas City, Mo. lololololololol. You don’t consider that a REAL city do you? lololololololol.

by AnotherNameNotRequired on Jun 2, 2009 11:23 PM EDT reply actions

Oklahoma City is a REAL city? LMAO. Besides, you don’t even come from a “REAL” city either….ass holes don’t count, you peice of sh*t.

Oklahoma City is a “REAL” city? LMAO!!

by xxBAxx816 on Jun 3, 2009 12:39 AM EDT up reply actions

I don’t know what your criteria for a “real city” is but I was born and raised in Kansas City and I love it. To me a real city is the one that you grow up in and love so shove it.

by sdow on Jun 3, 2009 12:59 AM EDT up reply actions

OKC is actually a pretty nice city, aside from the pervasive presence of Toby Keith. And this coming from a Texas boy.

by PW on Jun 3, 2009 10:08 AM EDT up reply actions

Come on PW, Toby’s only real presence is an “I love this bar and grill” that Toby hasn’t been to since the grand opening five years ago.

by James S on Jun 3, 2009 10:24 AM EDT up reply actions

There’s that, plus a big “Home of Toby Keith” sign on northbound I-35. When it comes to Toby Keith, those two things are enough to qualify as pervasive.

by PW on Jun 3, 2009 10:28 AM EDT up reply actions

Yeah, but that’s in Moore, not oklahoma city. i live in moore, they have to put that sign up because there is nothing else there. Its the home of toby Keith, but his house is in Norman, and he lives in nashville probably 90% of the time. I get what your saying though.

by James S on Jun 3, 2009 12:10 PM EDT up reply actions

By the way, are you comin up for the event?

by James S on Jun 3, 2009 12:15 PM EDT up reply actions

I consider a real city a city that has more than one pro-sports team.

Main Event – Kos vs Kampmann

Make it happen UFC!!

by WB on Jun 2, 2009 11:56 PM EDT reply actions

hell yea!

by SoCalStunNa on Jun 3, 2009 1:04 AM EDT up reply actions

Kos/Trigg would be good co-main event. with maybe Kampmann vs Swick/Saunders as main event.

by Synyster on Jun 3, 2009 1:40 AM EDT up reply actions

Or have Trigg fight the loser of the Swick/Saunders fight. Personally I dont think Trigg deserves Kos right now. I think that would be a 1 sided beat down by Kos, would rather see a competive fight that actually means something in the division. After GSP beats ALves, who is next?!?!

by WB on Jun 3, 2009 8:15 AM EDT up reply actions

KOS could have been next had he not got KTFO by a debut fighter!

by SoCalStunNa on Jun 3, 2009 7:31 PM EDT up reply actions

hell yeah im from Norman i will def be going to my first event!

by Ted on Jun 3, 2009 9:09 AM EDT reply actions

yeah im in edmond so im pretty excited about it. it will be my first event to.

by jc on Jun 3, 2009 10:27 AM EDT up reply actions

I live in Moore, I’ll be there.

by James S on Jun 3, 2009 12:46 PM EDT up reply actions

I live in OKC. You can count me in.

by Jetto on Jun 4, 2009 10:11 AM EDT up reply actions
