no problem dood.
by stinky~fingers on May 29, 2009 10:02 AM EDT up reply actions
nah stink. THere is a problem with that fight and it hasnt been signed! Vitor ONLY wants to fight MOusasi at 185 lbs and not a catch weight. MOusasi is adamant about not being able to get down to 185 lbs anymore. TROUBLE IN PARADISE and I dont think that this fight will happen. HOpefully I am WRONG!!!!
I really like this poster. Im going to try and buy one for sure!

MOusasi or Vitor vs. Babalu is still a GREAT back up plan!

i know john~ i was just messin around..
but~ no doubt vitor will be on the card regardless~
i dont know why they wouldnt have his name on the poster..

Hey Mania…I gotta go take a test soon. Do me a favor and post my Fedor Rant thats been in MOd for the past hour. I would like to see responses to it, before I have to start busting my ass in school. THanks buddy!

no one picked up on the events name: TRILOGY, is this a hint that it will probably be the last show?
I see no way Barnett beats Fedor, he barely finished a guy with no ground game that he had mounted! I still say all the best fights for Fedor are at 205!

Hurry up and post one of my classic and HONEST FEdor Rants!
by john on May 29, 2009 11:47 AM EDT up reply actions
John, you don’t have an honest Fedor rant! I agree, he’s the best HW ever who should move to LHW! But posting about your favorite fighter, who can do no wrong, isn’t honest! I’m NOT SAYING you don’t speak the truth or that I disagree about your opinion of fedor, but to say it’s unbiased or honest isn’t true!
by kevin on May 29, 2009 12:24 PM EDT up reply actions
It is HONEST! Not many people have anything to HONESTLY say bad about Jordan, or Gretzky’s game, so why can I hONESTLY speak infallibly about Fedor?

Dont be mad at me cause he is a FIGHTING GOD who has NO wholes in his game!
by john on May 29, 2009 3:10 PM EDT up reply actions
Here you go Kevin:
A) I highly DOUBT that TODAY anyone on the UFC Roster will upset FEDOR!!!!
B) Even if Fedor comes to the UFC and loses a single fight. I honestly believe that he has accomplished so much as a heavyweight and is head and shouulders above every other heavyweight that it would take at lest 2 losses in a row for Fedor to lose his #1 ranking as a heavyweight and there is a better chance of me hitting tonights 180 million dollar lottery then that happening. If he loses a fight he should drop a spot or 2 in p4p rankings but it will take more then 1 loss to drop out of the top spot in every single person alive’s Heavyweight rankings!
Upsets do occur all the time in mma, but Fedor is once in a lifetime athlete on par with Greatness like Tiger, Jordan, Gretzky, Ali. THese were all amazing athletes but what seperated themselves from all the other great athletes was that THEY ALWAYS FOUND A WAY TO WIN. That is what makes Fedor so special. If he just blew through everyone without ever being tested, then I would admit that he could be upset….but the guy has been through the fire, and always came away with the win. He has NEVER lost a single round in over 30 fights! COME ON!
He has faced with adversity and just got pissed and ended up finishing his opponent in the same round:
-Fujita ROCKED HIM BAD, and made him do the fish Dance. what does Fedor do? Stays cool as a fan, regains his composure and submits Fujita in the same round with a rear naked choke.
-Arlovski was picking him apart (although not as many of his shots landed as many of you seem to think). What does fedor do? ROCKS ANDRE"S FOCKING WORLD and making Arlovski the National spokesman for Tylenol PM!!!! LMAO
-He went 20 minutes in a grueling WAR with Cro cop in his Prime and out struck cro cop at his own game.
-He made NOgueira, the best HW submission artist mma had ever seen look like a white belt when NOg was in his Prime.
-He was BRUTALLY SUPLEXED on the back of his head/Neck by Randleman. What did he do? He stayed calm, regained his composure (that he never actually lost) and submitted Randleman with a kimura in the same round.
What more do you FOCKING HATERS want? He is about to DESTROY Josh Barnett who would be the favorite RIGHT NOW against any freaking fighter on the UFC’s Heavyweight Roster. Stop your bitching, and enjoy a MEGA FIGHT. YOU guys have the privilege of witnessing gREATNESS IN his PRIME! Not to mention there is NO ONE CLASSIER yet as DESTRUCTIVE in the sport. What more do you ingrates want?

Here you go Kevin, now you tell me what is Biased and untrue about this post:
A) I highly DOUBT that TODAY anyone on the UFC Roster will upset FEDOR!!!! Brock and Carwin are the haters only shot at seeing Fedor get upset, but any chance of happening is at least 3 years away, when they improve and Fedor starts slowing down. Problem with that is that neither Carwin or Brock are spring chickens anymore. THey are around the same age as Fedor, maybe a little older…so as Fedor gets old, so will they. Lets leave out Carwin and Brock who are physical specimens, just for a moment and talk about the UFC’s other Heavyweights. I say TODAY, Fedor would easily Destroy: Couture, RETIRE MIR, Kongo, Dos Santos, Herring, Cro Cop, Vallasquez, NOgueira and Gonzaga (you think he breaks down mentally now, see how bad he breaks down with Fedor staring through him from the other side of the cage),…NONE OF THEM have even a remote shot at beating Fedor TODAY. I guess because of their physical abilities and athleticism, brock and Carwin would make for interesting fights but realistically, they need at least 2 more years in the game to make it competitive. Right now, Fedor’s toughest fights would be barnett, rematch with Arlovski and alistar and Werdum…in that order. NONE OF THOSE FIGHTERS ARE IN THE UFC. so I dont get the fixation about wanting him to sign in the UFC. I dont see much of a point, TODAY!
B) Even if Fedor comes to the UFC and loses a single fight. I honestly believe that he has accomplished so much as a heavyweight and is head and shoulders above every other heavyweight that it would take at lest 2 losses in a row for Fedor to lose his #1 ranking as a heavyweight and there is a better chance of me hitting tonight’s 180 million dollar lottery then that happening. What more do you ingrates want? IMO, the only thing better then this fight owuld be if Fedor and Barnett fought in a cage instead of a ring. Other then that…Its a DREAM fight that anyone with any sense has wanted to see for at least 5 years now!

I hear a small child screaming.
But in this case I have to side with the shrieking toddler. Fedor is the man at HW, and even if he does accrue a loss on his record, he should go down as one of, if not the greatest figters ever.
The UFC can offer him some great fights, but so can other promotions. What I think john may be missing is the fact that to the casual fan, there are no other organizations. There is only the UFC, so if Fedor wants the regognition and status that Gretzky and Jordan enjoy he needs to join the NFL of MMA, the UFC… and start KO’ing the hyped up UFC heavyweights like Brock Lesnar (something he should have no trouble doing unless he has really let himself go, which I sometimes worry is happening based on his expanding gut).
Fedor by second round TKO over Barnett. Can’t wait to watch him in action again.
by Jeremyjackson on May 29, 2009 4:33 PM EDT up reply actions
YOU sound really dumb saying I sound like a child screaming. what have I posted besides FACTS? What pisses me off is the lack of respect that Barnett gets…Deep down even the haters no Fedor is god….but Barnett should be respected much more then he gets around here!
what u r missing JJ….is that there is a whole GIANT world outside of America. Even if the casual American fans dont know who Fedor is by now…there are millions of Japanese, Chinese and Korean fans in this world who think of Fedor as a god. tHose same fans have NO IDEA who Chuck Liddell is, which is arguably the most popular fighter that American mma has ever seen. Also keep in mind that 98% of PROFESSIONAL fighters will all say Fedor is the greatest heavyweight if not the greatest fighter to ever live and who knows better then pro fighters?. He is top 5 in every ranking and is one of the richest fighters in the sport today. Ask any mma analyst or trainer about Fedor and see if they have any doubts about him. GO smoke a blunt with the UFC biased Joe Rogan and bet you he slurps all over Fedor’s nuts. He cant be doing that bad without your “Casual american fans knowing him”… Trust me, I have been to a few European Countries like Italy, england, Spain and have many friends and relatives in those countries. Every year I ask them the same 2 questions: what level the UFC’s popularity has reached in those countries? and do they know about Fedor?…and they all know about the last emperor.
I watched the Arlovski/Fedor fight in a bar filled with casual fans that didnt even know who Josh Barnett was, yet 300 people chanted Fedor’s name through out the entire ppv broadcast. He is becoming more popular in the states then people like you and Dana white owuld like to admit. yOU think its just a coincidance that Dana’s most asked questions are about Fedor?
Get with the program buddy! U r better then how you represented yourself today! I expect more from you and hold you to a higher standard then the average troll. GO home, take a nap, regroup and come back better tomorrow! lol
Even if he doesnt go down as the most popular fighter in America, he will go down as the best fighter on most Continents through out the world….TYpical short sighted American who thinks the sun rises and sets around us.
by john on May 29, 2009 4:52 PM EDT up reply actions
I am missing that there is a world outside America, huh john? You do realize I don’t live in America, right? LOL, I’d bet you’ve never even been outside the country.
Anyway, your idiotic rant was completely unnecessary. I was actually agreeing with you.
My point was that most casual MMA fans are pretty unfamiliar with Fedor, and completely unfamiliar with Affliction. I talk to them every day, and if it isn’t the UFC, they mostly aren’t interested. I hate that this is true, but it is very true, and you’re a moron in a dream world if you think otherwise. Then again, you seem to get very upset when your delusional view of the MMA world is exposed as something other than the truth, so I should be used to this by now.
And why would you lump me in with Dana White? I have been one of the most outspoken critics of his on this site, but the UFC IS the big leagues of MMA now john, so tell your mom to change your Pride diapers and get over it.
Damn john, you are disappointing the hell out of me today. If I was to guess your age upon readng your posts, I would say about 16… not 26. I hope your Finals are going better than the filth you’re spewing across this forum today, ’cause otherwise you have another year of school to look forward to.
by Jeremyjackson on May 29, 2009 5:22 PM EDT up reply actions
I agree with everything you wrote John, just doesn’t mean much coming from Fedor’s #1 fan. It would be like me listing the reasons the Pats will win the superbowl this year!
by kevin on May 29, 2009 5:32 PM EDT up reply actions
And john… it’s not what you post. It’s how you post it. And your posts are often sadly reminiscent of a child screaming.
I’m not saying it to hurt you, buddy… I’m saying it to help you.
A little modification on the ole posting style would make your posts, which I value for their wit and knowledge, a helluva lot more enjoyable to read … as opposed to barely tolerable, which is where they stand now. I’m sure I’m not the only one who thinks you’d benefit from chilling the fuck out and displaying a little maturity.
Thanks.
by Jeremyjackson on May 29, 2009 5:36 PM EDT up reply actions
BTW john, paragraph A of your post was bang-on as far as assessing Fedor’s potential opponents in the UFC. Great job there.
by Jeremyjackson on May 29, 2009 5:52 PM EDT up reply actions
On more thing john… I am well aware of how Fedor is respected by fighters and people in the business… but you have completely missed my point. We are talking about Fedor’s status with the casual fan, and his legacy after his career is done.
You compared Fedor to Gretzky and Jordan. For Fedor to achieve the kind of fame and notoriety that those athletes enjoy, he needs to kick a little ass in the UFC, by far the biggest stage in MMA. I don’t see how you can disagree with that, but you’ve found a way.
by Jeremyjackson on May 29, 2009 5:59 PM EDT up reply actions
your right about causal fans not knowing who fedor is now, but in the long run he will be remembered as the greatest hw with or with out the ufc.
by roy on May 29, 2009 7:07 PM EDT up reply actions
Yes, he will… but he won’t be to MMA what Jordan is to basketball or Gretzky is to hockey, and that was my point all along.
I don’t like the fact that the UFC is the only premiere promotion in MMA right now, and I’d love to see more competition. But for better or for worse, it is what it is… and Fedor racking up some wins in the UFC’s relatively weak HW division while he’s still in his prime is his ticket to true super-stardom.
by Jeremyjackson on May 29, 2009 7:12 PM EDT up reply actions
Haha, nice posts Jeremy. I agree wholeheartedly.
by Johnny Farnham on May 30, 2009 12:27 AM EDT up reply actions
And John, I agree with you, Fedor is great — THE great — for his skills as well as his demeanour and if he ever loses I think I’ll cry. But leave out this word ‘focking,’ I just can’t take it seriously. It just doesn’t have the same ring to it as the genuine word. It puts me off. It’s just like saying sugar when you mean shit. Even worse because it ain’t even a word.
by Johnny Farnham on May 30, 2009 12:33 AM EDT up reply actions
JJ: u think I dont want to see Fedor in the UFC? I would just prefer to see him fight Alistar, Barnett and Werdum before anyone on the UFC HW roster.
YOu dont know me, so why would you make dumb generalizations about me. Trust me, I have traveled all over the world, garentee that I traveled more then you, so I dont even know why you would say such a stupid thing!…so Im not your typical ignorant American that doesnt know any better!
Im so sick of the Casual fan debate! Who gives a FOCK about the casual fans? all they do is order a ppv between 15 of their friends. YOU are talking about CASUAL AMERICAN fans, and that is still over rated statement because by now, you would be surprised at how many casual fans know Fedor! That statement was true prior to Affliction, but since then, your BELOVED “Casual Fans” have become educated!

but what a way to go if they do go out. i can see affliction guys going to strikeforce, that would be sick. then you’re talking about strikeforce really being a presenece and having some legit main event guys to put on ppv shows as well. don’t need to do one every month like the ufc but 4-6 times a year would be awesome.
by bobby o'shea on May 29, 2009 9:30 AM EDT up reply actions
That would be a great idea, but I for one will always buy UFC events and I really don’t want to buy 2 PPV events that may times a year. Strikeforce has a deal with Showtime and I believe CBS so they can be a major player without making my cable bill and extra $110 6 times a year.

Trilogy is a terrible choice for the name of this event. It implies there will only be three Affliction events. Hopefully (Like Jedi IMHO) this will be the best of the three.
by wAyNe on May 29, 2009 9:34 AM EDT reply actions

Affliction Posters Question?
Affliction is backed by millionaires (Trump, Golden Boy), and they DESIGN T-Shirts with annual sales in the millions. Considering the competition from UFC, Strikeforce, Dream and some of the great old Pride posters, you would expect posters with a better design.

And I still don’t know why people say that Fedor just fights cans. He is fighting the best fighters outside the ufc and probably the #2 heavyweight right now. The guys just likes to fight different types of fighters and sometimes he does it for the fans. If the Japanese fans wants to see him fight Hong Man Choi, then he fights Hong Man Choi. He thinks about the fans and just wants to do different things. You can’t knock him for that.
