THIS CARD IS GONNA BE STACKED! HOPEFULLY SILVA WILL MAKE QUICK WORK OF GRIFFEN AND WE CAN SEE THE BELFORT SILVA FIGHT~ THIS MIGHT EVEN BE THE EVANS RAMPAGE FIGHT CARD~ MAYBE AND ALSO BISPING OR HENDO COULD ALSO BE ON THIS CARD IF THEY MAKE QUICK WORK

It would be nice to see Belfort back in the UFC

Belfort is coming back to fight Franklin at 205.
by belfort_fan on Jul 31, 2009 5:57 PM EDT up reply actions
And I have mixed feelings about that! I would much rather see Vitor fight Hendo at 185 and have that winner be next to fight Anderson. It’s not like Hendo has done that much at 185 since his loss and 185 is where Belfort should be fighting.
by figtin on Aug 5, 2009 2:42 PM EDT up reply actions
Lol even though he didnt fight at 185 he still gets a title shot at Anderson because he destroyed franklin
by Mylah on Oct 9, 2009 6:22 AM EDT up reply actions
Yep bacause Vitor’s the shit like that!!!!!!!!!!!

HAHAHA I bet you are kicking yourself for making this comment now that Griffin got humiliated in under 1 round!!! That’s hilarious
by Jrich on Aug 20, 2009 10:44 AM EDT up reply actions
It was obvious Forrest was getting whooped that night, even Forrest knew that before the fight. Stop listening to the Hype, watch all of the fights, analyze the fighters, then make a comment.

ROOOFL. Just ROOFL. Thanks for the laugh my friend.

Whose the idiot? LOL Did FG even land a meaningful strike outside of a couple low leg kicks?
by figtin on Aug 15, 2009 12:27 AM EDT up reply actions
doesnt mean shit. FG did everything he wasnt supposed to. all that did was showcase silvas strengths. if FG actually kept to his game plan and faught to his ability the fight would have lasted longer. why do you think he stormed off. cuz he fucked up
by mfrenzy on Aug 23, 2009 1:40 PM EDT up reply actions
There is seldom second chances in MMA. Not being disaplined and listenting to your coaches results in a loss. If forest or anyone for that matter plans to beat silva they are really going to have to take him out of his element ( haha and goodluck with that ) .

Griffin will make silva know he should keep it in the middleweight division. And he better not think he can have another win if he fights like he did against Thales leites, he won’t make this card.
by Chance on Jun 30, 2009 9:38 PM EDT reply actions
anderson fought a great fight against thales, he kept it where he wanted you just don’t see that he’s always been a counter striker unless he hurt the guy, like leben
leben came right at him, hendo came right at him, franklin came at him, marquardt came at him, irvin came at him
they all have that in common along with getting finished,
by randy murders on Jul 1, 2009 9:02 PM EDT up reply actions
Forrest Griffin better not think he’s gonna be able to stand up with Silva. Silva will knock out anyone who decides to stand up with him….anyone.
by JC on Jul 1, 2009 7:57 PM EDT reply actions
silva lost to ryo chonan a 170lbs mid level dude. It was not a fluke. Chonan was winning that fight for 20 minutes before he submitted Anderson. Anderson was in trouble against Hendo and Nate and even Matt L.
He is way over hyped and the king of a weak division. Lyoto schools him constantly when they train together. Griffen has a chance I’d say 50% or more.
by hatteras on Jul 2, 2009 9:57 AM EDT reply actions
Anderson does not get schooled by Machida, They don’t sprawl the way you might think they do. Give Machida at leat 1.5 more years and that comment might be true. Silva is still way ahead of machida at this point in their careers.
by Itsmiguel on Sep 21, 2009 12:43 AM EDT up reply actions
based on what? Machida’s zero losses, even of a round? Or the 4 Anderson has lost? They are both awesome but Machida only gets hit once every 2.5 rounds…enough said. That is almost unthinkable. It means most rounds he doesn’t get hit at all nor taken down.
by hatteras on Oct 5, 2009 10:13 PM EDT up reply actions
Silva was easily winning that chonan fight before he got caught. oh and “In trouble” is correct if you mean destroying them. Lutter was the only trouble. Hendo won a round but never had silva in trouble. Trouble means a possibility to end the fight. No one but Lutter has done that to Silva in the UFC.
by Rynoman on Aug 9, 2009 8:15 PM EDT up reply actions
You are wrong! Did you actually see that fight? Silva was passive and Ryo chose his spots very carefully. Bas stated very clearly at the beginning of the third round that Anderson needed to do something in that round to pull out a victory. Yes, it didn’t make any sense, and it probably will never happen again (depending on how long Anderson will continue to fight), but Chonan was winning that fight. With the way Silva is figthing now he will have to go up to HW (unless the Machida fight happens) to get a serious challenge, IMO.

Shogun is going down. This isnt even that good of a matchup. I see this being a one sided fight through and through.
by belfort_fan on Jul 4, 2009 10:14 PM EDT reply actions
Had it not been for the loss to Forest, Shogun would still be considered as possibly the best light heavyweight in the UFC. Shogun is a very serious opponent for anybody at 205. He will probably lose but this is not a mis-match.
by jason on Jul 21, 2009 2:37 AM EDT up reply actions
Agree to disagree. . .
I agree that Shogun is a very dangerous apponent for alot of people. But how ever, His style doesnt matchup well with Machida’s style. You’ll see.
by belfort_fan on Jul 25, 2009 3:31 PM EDT up reply actions
for anyone trying to make a big prediction on this ppv… remember any fighter has a punchers chance… and the same people that thought rashad was going to beat machida are the same ones who think anderson silva with dominate forrest griffin… griffin is the biggest light heavyweight in the division. he walks around close to 245 lbs and cuts down to 205 to fight… if anderson silva wins by dominating forrest i will shit in my hands and eat it
by UFC_knowitall__ on Jul 7, 2009 10:06 PM EDT reply actions
not only that Silva wins by the way of Franklin, leben and Irwin was his effective knee strikes [muay thai clinch].Thus it projects him as a good stand up after most of damage comes from his knees. After watching ufc best of 2008 Forrest striking and stand up improve after rampage. He landed and connected affective strikes against Evans.if this is a path to Forrest progression then Silva Griffin could go to decision. It dosent matter anyways no one is going beat Loyto for a couple of years. This best read and react fighter In MMA and thats talent you cant teach
by mma maddness on Jul 12, 2009 8:32 PM EDT up reply actions
Ummmm… Start your $hitting in your hands buddy cause Anderson just toyed with the skill-lacking Forest…. I want you to start eating it right now!!!
by Robert on Aug 9, 2009 3:01 AM EDT up reply actions
Umm…. start $hitting away buddy cause that was complete superiority over Griffin. Anderson dominated that fight so bad that you need to video take yourself pooping in your hands, eating it, and then posting it on YouTube. Wow, Anderson completely toy’d with Forest as if Forest was a little 12 year old girl.
by Robert on Aug 9, 2009 3:06 AM EDT up reply actions
start pooping cause that was complete superiority by Silva over Griffin. Anderson toy’d with Griffin like he was a 12 year old girl!!!

GRIFFIN IS A VERY GOOD FIGHTER , MOVES WELL , IS WELL ROUNDED , VERY GOOD KICKS BUT… HE DON’T HAVE KO POWER IN HIS HANDS… AND THAT IS STRANGE FOR A GUY WITH THAT SIZE… YOU WILL NEVER SEE HIM PUT ANYONE TO SLEEP… AND IN THIS FIGHT WITH SILVA THIS WILL BE A PROBLEM FOR HIM…
by satan on Jul 14, 2009 8:55 PM EDT reply actions
whoever is gonna beat anderson silva needs to be a “bomb ass” wrestler with good bjj defense and not be an intimidated schmuck!!! Let me tell you one thing for sure, Forrest is not scared of anyone, wether he has the skills to beat him or not is yet to be seen!!! GO FORREST!!!!
by joe scmoe mma pro!!!! on Jul 28, 2009 3:12 AM EDT reply actions
Silva will win by TKO rferee stoppage in the 2nd. Its gonna be like the Silva/Franklin 2 fight.
We need to see GSP/Silva at a catch weight.
by dyoung on Jul 29, 2009 8:06 PM EDT reply actions
I’m more pumped for the Carwin & Cain fight I think Carwin is the real deal and a one of the most dangerous HW in the world. If his ground game is as good as his coaches, training partners and himself say it is he should have little problem against Cain who’s stand up still needs some work. I can see it now Carwin against Brock December 31st as long as Carwin doesn’t take to much damage & Fedor has not signed with UFC.
by Beaver on Aug 2, 2009 8:30 PM EDT up reply actions
that would have been silva vs franklin 3 and none of those are going to happen
by soup on Sep 3, 2009 2:04 PM EDT up reply actions
carwin won’t fight on2 months more like brock vs carwin in feb super bowl weekend
i think jan 2nd card will be more off either hendo vs silva gsp vs swick/kammpman winner, or even sanchez vs penn/florian but i do think it might be a double title fight since main event of dec 12 is evans vs rampage but depending on sat nov will grab one of either light weight or middleweight title fights in vegas

Am I correct in thinking that there are normally 11-12 figths on a card?
Does anyone know if Anderson Silva vs. Dan Henderson II is an option for this card. It would be great to see Machedia and Silva as the co-headliners. I have a feeling that Silva will want to take some time off after destroying Forrest.
by Stu on Aug 13, 2009 7:47 AM EDT reply actions
This card needs another decent fight. Ryan Bader……lol
Other then the two star power fights, 103 takes this one

okay i know its already been mentioned but i really do think that machida is gonna win. he’s not necessarily the best fighter in the UFC but his style is so original i think until we see another person with machida’s style i dont think anyone’s gonna be able to beat him

now this is going b some super hardcore shhdamage.
by audie oddbal on Aug 21, 2009 1:44 AM EDT reply actions
IMO, the only type of fighters who have a shot against either Anderson or Lyoto (outside of the other) are strong, well-rounded wrestlers. They have to be able to effectively close the distance and bring them to the ground, and that may end up being the easy part of actually winning!
by Figtin on Aug 26, 2009 9:25 PM EDT reply actions
This card is gonna ROCK! A belt is on the line where the champ will have a chance to be the first to successfully defend it since Jackson/Henderson. Two solid HWs and three other solid matchups. This card is so stacked that the Sonnen vs. Okami fight is on the undercard.
by Figtin on Sep 2, 2009 8:00 PM EDT reply actions
i actually think the main card is pretty damn weak.

d*locc your a dumbass, maybe if mma didn’t have fans like you it would grow worldwide. just b/c you don’t view this as a sport but instead view it as a fight it will just keep showing that your a 13 year old trying to talk to grown ups. Fact is Josh Neer would rip your arm off, and all you can do is hide out at home get on your computer and rag on people who are good enough to fight at the grandest stage in mma, THE UFC. The Staples Center should have a picture of your face to make sure they should not let your ungrateful ass into the building. BE GLAD THE UFC EVEN COMES TO THE STAPLES CENTER!
And If your dumbass spent just 5 minutes on researching mma instead of insulting Big B you would understand you have the most exciting fighter in the welterweight division, Anthony “Rumble” Johnson. This ppv sets up a power balance in each division you jackass, it takes all the up and coming prospects from all the divisions and makes interesting match-ups. Be glad i took 10 minutes out of my day to educate you so that you don’t come off as such a jackass next time…

CUNG LE will return at UFC 104!!!! As a cornerman for Anthony Johnson….
I’d like to see Anthony get a bigger name to fight. Swick would be a great stand up war. I wish Le would stop making movies and return to fighting.

Why is Okami 24-4 and 8-1 in the UFC with his only loss a UD to Rich Franklin on the under card? This guy is up there with Nate and Dan and Vitor. He is the only guy to beat Mike Swick and holds a dq win over Anderson. How many more must he win to get a title shot?
