Recent comments from Mark Coleman on Lyoto Machida ...

... "must be a joke," according to ESPN.com, which followed up with "The Hammer" after these crazy comments were splattered across the Interwebz:
"I know the "Cat" but have never trained with him. I personally thought Machida was great. I didn't see any holes. He will be difficult to beat by anyone. But I sure would give it a try."
Well that's good news. Apologies for passing along a bogus report -- shame on us. Coleman is set to battle Stephan Bonnar at UFC 100: "Lesnar vs. Mir" at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevda, on July 11. "The Cat" will more than likely not be in his corner for that fight or any other for that matter.

He should win fights and not run his mouth.

At this point in his life, that should be his career path. Proctor & Gamble should pay well.

He looks like Randy “The Ram” Robinson from “The Wrestler”

i still wanna see mark coleman vs. randy couture. couture’s claim to fame was his wrestling and all the close but no cigar trips to the olympics. coleman made the olympic team, ahead of couture. coleman is a lot better wrestler than couture is/was. these 2 should’ve fought 10 years ago

dude, whether i was a coleman fan or not, i just gotta tell you how stupid and narrow minded that comment was. The guy is a legend. Have some respect and dont call him a loser. Its a bit much

I’m not saying Coleman will ever be a championship contender, but people forget his recent struggle in Pride was as a heavyweight (when the Pride HW division was the best to). His losses were to Cro Cop, Nog, and Fedor twice.
I think at 205 and with his wrestling that he is actually a tough fight for people. I understand the laughter as he is kind of a meathead in interviews, but his wrestling makes him tough. I think he will give Bonnar or about anyone else who isn’t top 6 at LHW a tough time. Bonnar will have to get a sub off his back… which he has the BJJ so I think that very well could be the ending… but I expect he’ll be getting a dose of ground and pound and repeated takedowns for a good bit…
And this is coming from a HUGE Shogun fan that can’t stand him personally for the shit talk in their history over the fluke arm break… but I gotta give him his due… at 205… he’s a tough fight…

He gained some fans after UFC93. He showed immense heart and…eh a serious lack of cardio.
I was hoping his swansong would be against Chuck at 100 but I guess he reckons he’s got a few more fights left in him.

Ya unbelievable, I am ashamed of how all the nubie fans have no idea of who Coleman was beaten and how his game evolved.
Just because he is slowing down and closing on retirement doesn’t mean he’s some big loser, he’s just a real fighter who has had some good and some bad fights in the ring.
What is it that you guys do for a living again?

Colemans game hasn’t evolve all that much, however I do like him and hope he’s able to pull off a few wins in the UFC.

Funny that NONE of us posting here have not accomplished as much as Coleman has. You have to respect the guy for trying.

Was I the only one more surprised by the Ernest “The Cat” Miller namedrop? I remember him as filler on WCW programming… I never would’ve figured him as a legitimate MMA trainer.
What’s next, Ricky Steamboat in GSP’s corner?

Whoever said Randy and Coleman should fight is an idiot. Randy would eat this guy for brakfast. Randy was able to keep big ass Brock agaisnt the cage and Coleman is suppose to hang with him?!
