Georges St. Pierre among top 25 'fittest guys in the world for 2009'

Props: MensFitness.com
Quoteworthy:
"By dismantling UFC lightweight champion BJ Penn earlier this year, St-Pierre took ownership of the 'best pound-for-pound fighter' mantle. GSP routinely kills it in the gym with strength and conditioning coach Jonathan Chaimberg, a fellow Montreal native. Chaimberg has taken him from only eight body-weight pullups per set to now banging them out with a 120-pound dumbbell attached to his waist. Normally 188 pounds, St-Pierre cuts about 20 pounds for a fight and carries only about 5 percent body fat. 'He's probably the most gifted athlete you'll ever meet,' says Chaimberg."
Olympic speedster Usaine Bolt, NBA All Star LeBron James, phenomenal professional boxer Manny Pacquiao and the Wolverine, among others, made the list. Pretty good company for Mr. MMA Canada.

BJ Penn is more fit than that. But when the magazine went to Hawaii, the lighting wasn’t good and the camera angles didn’t show how fit BJ really is.
“Hopefully the LCAC (Lighting and Camera Angles Commission) will address those issues” said BJ’s lawyer.

Evertime you guys open your mouths about BJ you make him more and more a legend. How can anyone say GSP is P4P the best when the guy has NOT yet gone up in weight to face a bigger guy at middle weight. C’mon we all know if GSP has not faced anyone up in weight…don’t start calling him P4P best. Pac man IS the best P4P because he has only moved up in wieght to take belts from heavier fighters. When GSP takes a belt from the middle weight division then you might call him P4P best. He will get KTFO by Alves.

You got it wrong Luv Hater, In MMA a stronger heavier opponent can grapple and use his weight and muscle much to his advantage. Boxing does not apply to MMA P4P Fighter, entirely different category.

I dunno about the Alves part, but you’re pretty much right on the button about PacMan. And oh, Mayweather too takes belts from waaay heavier opponents. Like in the Baldomir fight, where he weighed in at 149 and his opponent, 164 or somethin’. Now Floyd’s ready to return, then who knows what’s next for Pacman. I ain’t sayin’ Pacman has no chance. It’s just that if Mayweather hits peak condition again, it’ll all boil down to cardio. Well IMO, Pac has the better cardio, so he’s takin’ the belt.
Now back to GSP, there’s no question he can beat the crap out of bigger and heavier guys. I’d bet my car that GSP could do a smackdown on, say Dan Henderson anytime of the day.

Hendo may be a bit rough. He normally fights at 205, and he may be the only person who has better wrestling than GSP. I would think GSP could take Franklin though.

Gotta luv HATER’s – you really shouldn’t comment until you have followed mma for at least 6 months. Get off your knees and let BJ cry

Cool that he made it. I wonder what the criteria was. There were a ton of actors and other people on that list who would be laying on the ground if they tried to keep up with GSP.

LOL that nutty billionair was on the list….he skii’s, plays tennis LMAO, I don’t know who makes these lists its obviously a popularity contest. BTW gsp would destroy almost all of these guys in one of his normal workouts, most likely would be taken to the hospital afterwards.

8 bodyweight pull ups to pull ups with an extra 120lbs!!! That is incredible improvement. How the hell did he manage that?

Glad to see Usain on there. Being Jamaican and all he doesn’t get much pub but I would have to say that dude is as dominant an athlete at his/her sport as there is in the world. Just flat out AMAZING.
