Eaxctly what I would expect him to say. Hes not going to turn around and say “my boy got whooped” is he.
Machida is going to be tricky for everyone.

Machida has definitely gotten himself into a zone. “tricky for everyone” is spot on! That was an awsome win, he went in there and took care of business.

he could at least admit that he got destroyed, machida is the better fighter so that wasn’t just “his night”

“THe best trainer on earth”, lol Greg Jackson couldnt even prepare shad enough to land a single punch! Just get clipped? try: Just getting outclassed!
My man NIck J, made a great post last week basically saying greg Jackson is a “front runner type coach”…..Lets see Jackson’s fighter overcome adversity and gain a win. Only greg Jackson fighter that has really overcome adversity in a fight has been Jardine.
Im so sick of the mma world sucking Jackson’s cock. Great trainer, but not any better then the other top coaches. I would take ATT over Jackson’s camp any day!
I need to see a Rashad beat a fighter like Machida, Shogun or Rampage before I start calling him the elite of the division. He was basically getting dominated by both Chuck and Forrest until landing the big blow. and I dont want to hear that lame ass excuse about his strategy being to give a way the 1st 2 rounds. CRAPPY EXCUSE! He couldnt even dominate Tito.
shad is easily a top 10 fighter, with mEGA KO Power, and a crap load of skills….Im not questioning that. I just dont really know how good he is. I have to see him matched up against Shogun, or Rampage before I start calling him a top 3 fighter. BUt there is no shame in being a top 5 fighter. I just dont think he is DOMINANT! IMO, he would even struggle against guys like Franklin, Henderson or Vera! He might beat those guys, but he it wont be easy for Shad. He would struggle with all three of those guys.
I would love to see Rashad vs. Jardine, but that will NEVER happen. IMO, Shad would even struggle with Jardine.
IMO, the next fight booked has to be Rashad vs:
Shogun
Vera
or Banha Cane!

DReam announced 3 fights for DREAM 10:
Shinya Aoki vs. Vitor “Shaolin” Ribeiro: this is going to be a v ery entertaining fight between 2 fantastic grapplers!!!! Very much looking forward to this match up
Melvin Manhoef vs. Paulo Filho: WOW!!! Filho is in trouble. I think Melvin should light him up before Filho gets the fight to the ground. Grappler vs. Striker. Whoever takes this fight into “His world” wins this fight. simple as that!
Katsunori Kikuno vs. Andre “Dida” Amade (unconfirmed): Great fight. Always look forward to watching “DIDA” fight!

Greg Jackson has some of the worse nuthuggers and also haters. He’s not the Yoda of MMA, but he’s VERY VERY GOOD. Two of his guys WON a UFC title under him. GSP beat Serra under Jackson, and Shad beat Forrest. How many camps have had one champion, let alone two? For comparison’s sake, with all the great fighters and coaches at ATT, do you know how many UFC or Pride champs they’ve ever had? Zero. Jackson’s camp is the new MFS. Another camp will probably emerge as the number one eventually (it could very well be ATT), but right now, Jackson’s is still the cream of the crop.
by Pat on May 26, 2009 9:35 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Good post John. While I believe Shogun has the potential to be top 3, right now he isn’t. I think you’re right on the matchups with the exception of vera. Vera doesn’t deserve a fight with the former champ. Give rashad cane or shogun.
by RT on May 26, 2009 9:35 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Pat, Jackson’s camp is good, but look at team nogueira/black house. They’re the number one camp IMO. Champs: Machida, A. Sliva
Former Champs: Big Nog, Filho
Contenders: Lil’ Nog, Junior Dos Santos
Prospects: Jacare, Feijao
Hard to top that list with any other camp.

I am a Mayhem MOnkey for life…But right now, Mayhem is on my $hit list! He ruined a great fight by throwing that soccer kick. HOw the hell was it ruled accidental and No contest? How do you accidentally soccer kick a downed fighter in the head? THere have to be consequences for those type of actions. Im sure Jacre worked his ass off for this fight….its not his fault the fight was stopped, so he should be awarded the win!
Worst possible ending to a highly anticipated fight. I would have awarded Jacre the belt, and booked an immediate rematch!
In 2 fights, Mayhem hasnt shown a single thing to mke me shy away from picking Jacre to beat him. THey could fight 10 times, and I would pic Jacre EVERY SINGLE TIME!

Pat: I am a fan of Jackson, and acknowledge hism as one of the top trainers in the game, but he gets his cock slurped by fans a little too much for my liking.
Stop bringing up GSP when trying to justify Jackson. GSP was already the best welterweight on earth when he got to Jackson’s camp. Yes he has done great work with shad n the inconsistant jardine, but I dont think Jackson should be praised for GSP’s title run!
I will however say that Jackson comes up with some of the best gameplans in the sport!

Classic Rashad bashing….most people on this site have bashed Rashad at one time or another. I really don’t get it. The guy has done nothing but win…maybe not always in a dominant fashion but the guy finds a way to pull it out every time…except once. Out of 20 fights…he has one loss. How many fighters can say that? I get that he may run his mouth a little and showboat from time to time but I find that entertaining…cause he backs it up. He has improved dramatically from the one dimensional wrestling heavyweight on TUF 2 to a great striker and counter puncher with great footwork and power to boot. To say he is nothing more than a top 10 LHW is ridiculous. My only real regert in seeing Rashad lose was that he won’t get to destroy Page. I’m sure that getting that first loss will humble Rashad and help him come back stronger than ever. I’m sure there is a least a little pressure to stay undefeated and I hope that helps open up his game even more. I find it ridiculous how much people downplay his wins…he lost the first round to Chuck…he lost the first 2 rounds to Forrest…yada yada yada. He came back and won when he was down and out…how is that not overcoming adversity. The guy may give away rounds and that’s something I’d like to see him correct but it’s what won him both of those fights. He had enough confidence in himself that he would get his timing down and win the fight. You can overanalyze a lot of fighter’s wins and downplay them all you want but it doesn’t change the fact that that fighter found a way to win.
I give mad props to Machida…he’s an incredible fighter and after the performance he gave I just don’t see who could really touch the guy. It makes me really want to see Machida vs Anderson Silva although I know it’s not going to happen. Machida deserves that belt and he’s going to be dangerous for a long time.
I agree about Jackson’s strategy…it was foolish to go into that fight and let Machida set up and strike first and give away the first round. I said before the fight that it was important for Rashad to take at least the first round. Jackson needs to do more homework if that was the best he could come up with. I do think the Jackson camp has gotten a little too much of the limelight lately but they have some great fighters and most of them are winners. I think what’s attractive about the camp is the closeness of the fighters. Everyone helps everyone else train. I know with a camp like ATT you get a lot of different coaches with different experience and there is a large stable of fighters of varying talent but with that many different fighters with different schedules, I’m not sure you would always get to train with the best all the time. Either way both camps have impressive records and fighters.
The Rashad bandwagon rolls on…I’m not leaving just from one loss. He’ll be back.

GSP was already the champion and lost it when he got to Jackson’s camp then won it again while he was there I believe. I am glad the nutthuggin is over…

HOld up Buster. I know your post better not have been aimed at me! I called him “easily a top 5 fighter”…what more do you want man? Just cause I dont think he can beat Rampage, Machida, or an in shape Shogun doesnt make me a hater. I think he is an amazing fighter that will continue to get better who I find myself really looking forward to seeing compete since around the time of the TIto fight…I just dont think he is GREAT just yet.
Not once, have I ever seen Rashad dominate a decent fighter. Sorry but when I think the best fighters at 205, I think of guys who have dominated other top fighters. Who the hell has shad ever dominated? SEan Salmon? Sorry Im not knocking Shad at all…but when we get into debates about the very best, fighters are so great, that Nitpicking is necessary to make arguments and analyze who the best of the best are. I see fighters who are established as BEING GREAT like machida who has dominated fighters like Rashad, Silva and Tito. Rampage has dominated an in prime LIddell, Henderson, Igor when he was a top 10 HW….Shogun has had many dominating performances. Where are Shads dominated performances? there are none. Prior to catching his opponents and knocking there blocks off, he is always squeeking through fights. NOt saying he is great, Im just keeping it real. He wAS LOSING to Chuck n Forrest before his craxy Ko power saved his life. He squeeked by Bisping and TIto. IMO, If Rashad is matched up against Fighters like: Vera, tHiago Silva, Rich Franklin, Henderson…I would probably pick him to win all those fights, but he wouldnt DOMINATE any of them. On the other hand, already ESTABLISHED “GREAT FIGHTERS” like Page and Machida would probably dominate most of those fights.
Like I said, this post is not a knock on Rashad, who like I said I think is a fantastic fighter and IMO is on the bottom half of the top 5….there is no shame in being a top 5 fighter. Shad is very fast, powerful, intelligent and is a solid wrestler. I just dont think he is ready to beat the elite like Rampage, Machida and an in shape shogun. NO shame in that!
I am however very happy that Rashad lost to Machida, because IMO Machida vs. Rampage is the Best LHW title fight that has ever taken place in the UFC. Both fighters clearly sit at the top of their division. To date the biggest UFC LHW title fights were Tito vs. Chuck and Tito vs. Randy. tHose were great fights but IMO they werent the top 2 LHW in the world at the time. Page and Machida are the very best in the world RIGHT NOW, and this is going to be an amazing fight that wont be dominated by whoever wins it. its going to be a hard fought battle.
yOU cxant say I am hating on Rashad, when I adamantly rank him as 1 of the top 5 light heavyweights currently walking this earth. I am just not as Gung ho about him as you are Buster…I think he still needs work, to get to that next level that only the elite like Rampage and Machida have reached!
btw Buster, you should be very happy that Rashad doesnt have to fight Rampage cause I know for a fact that is a fight Rashad wont win at this point in his career. 2 losses in a row would be bad for your golden boy!

john…it wasn’t just aimed at you cause there are a lot of Rashad haters on this site. I appreciate your passion for Rampage cause I have the same passion for Rashad and we both love MMA and debating MMA which is why we come to this awesome site. I just don’t see why when someone wins that people view it as a loss and downplay the victory. I get that Rashad lost the first round to Chuck and he gave it away as he said. I’m not a big fan of that strategy but it worked. He had a game plan and he executed it perfectly. He trained that overhand right for months before the fight. In my opinion he had a game plan and executed it to perfection. That is domination in my mind. He took no damage and KOed his opponent. The same can be said about his fight with Forrest…he had trouble getting his reach down and then once he did…he attacked and finished. People act like Rashad was getting destroyed and then came back and somehow pulled a win out of his butt. He didn’t dominate that fight but he went down two rounds and had the heart to come back and do what Page couldn’t…finish Forrest off. (Sorry I had to take that dig.) The Chuck/Evans fight and the Page/Silva fight were the same fight except Rashad waited Chuck out to frustrate him and then KOed him. I think both of those are dominating wins. I know Rashad hasn’t faced the level of competition that Page has but I’m not downplaying Page’s accomplishments. He lost to Griffin plain and simple, he finally beat a shell of his former self Wandy, and squeaked out a tough fought fight with Jardine. That’s Page’s resume lately and I’m not knocking it cause the level of competition in the UFC LHW division is no joke. There are no easy fights if you are fighting within the top 15.
I got a lot of respect for Page. He’s been in the game for a while and has been in there with some of the best in the business. He came on strong when he came over from Pride. I think he needs to diversify his arsenal a bit more and go back to using more wrestling. He’s turned into a boxer and although I think he has maybe the best boxing defence in the division…he needs to start using those legs of his to either move around more and create angles or try throwing more kicks…and checking them for that matter. He’s got great skills and has loads of talent but he seems like he’s become complacent as a boxer and power puncher.
I realy hope this loss opens up Rashad’s game a lot more. I think that the monkey of having an undefeated record is off his back and now he can concentrate on being more aggressive and mixing up his skills a bit more. I’d like to see him work his wrestling back into his game cause his GnP is very underrated. I hope he stops throwing away rounds cause it’s not doing him any favours and people are figuring that out. I do agree though that Rashad needs to go back to the drawing board and rethink the strategy he’s employed thus far. I’d like to see him work with Tri Star like GSP does for his striking.
I was looking forward to seeing Rashad on TUF with Page…would have been some fireworks there. You have your opinion but I think Rashad would frustrate Page and force him into making mistakes that I know Rashad would capitalize on and KTFO of Page. I hope we get to see that fight some day.

good post! I never knock a man for his oppinion if it has logic behind it. Hopefully before 2011, we will get to see this match up and it would clarify everything for us. We can agree that both Shad n Page have some holes in their game that they need to tightern up but both are top 5 fighters. Problem for both of our boys is going to be training to deal with Machida who is on fIRE right now!
I really hope to see Rashad vs. Shogun as the next fight booked.
I think its going to be important for Shad to grow that he stops giving away rounds and starts putting together some Dominant performances, but I do admire his come from behind ability cause it shows heart and mental toughness. I think Losing a fight will do wonders for Rashad. But I would like to see him Matched up with shogun next. If not, then someone like Banha, Franklin, or Vera.

Rashad has a lot of heart. This fight proved it and when I saw him fighting to get back up I was cheering for him to make it another round. I now have a lot more respect for Rashad. One thing that always gets me about these know nothing interviewers is they tend to make the person they are interviewing mad. The ask some of the dumbest questions and then re word them and try to ask them again. One thing this guy didn’t ask is how long might Rashad be out and who are you looking at as his next opponent? Did Rashad follow his game plan did he make any mistakes?

I definitely see the UFC booking Shogun vs Rashad but I hope they don’t cause I really want to see Shogun make a comeback and I don’t want to root against him. I’d have to take Rashad in that fight. Shogun hasn’t looked very quick lately and his win over Liddell was nice but we didn’t get to see if Rua’s cardio has improved that much but he looked alright from what we saw. Sadly…it’s a fight where Rashad would probably employ his counter striking and his typical strategy of waiting for his opponent to make the first move. They both have fight ending power in their hands and feet so it would be a great fight but I don’t want to see Shogun fall down the rankings. I’d like to see Rashad go up against a very slow Franklin if he gets by Wandy…it would be the TUF coach vs TUF winner.

I would think Miletich has had way more champs then jackson … Lets see .. Hughes , Pulver , and Sylvia were all champs.
I think he had Rich Franklin/Roger Huerta/Brock Lesnar for a bit also ..
Miletich is the best coach in mma … Hes one of the few coaches that has actually been a champ and fought mma .. I hear hes got some young studs that should be good up and comers.
Sure his guys are older and some have moved on , but hes always imho had the best fighters . Lawler , Horn , Rothwell etc ..

I have always been a Machida supporter as well. It’s not so much watching his style that intrigues me when watching his fights, it’s more of watching how his opponents deal with it and how frustrated it makes them. I don’t think there’s any fighter out there like Machida who just takes the other fighter completely out of their comfort zone like he does.

As a fan, if you are going to completly bash and rip a fighter….then dont swing on his nuts after he wins.
for example: if Forrest beats Rampage, Shogun, Machida, wanderlei, and all of my favorite fighters….I still wont start swinging from his nuts. I will acknowledge his skills and accomplishments, but I sure as hell wouldnt start Cock slurping him like many of you are NOW doing with Machida! People were ripping him prior to the Tito fight. Yeah,… Jackson said what he had to say – but the fact is Machida destroyed Evans!!
The UFC need to pull out all the stops and bring Fedor into the octagon – Fedor could come in and fight Machida and Anderson at 205… Otherwise the LHW belt is gonna be round a Brazilian’s waist for a long while!!
Respect to Machida though – personnally I love his Karate Style – It’s about time a fighter came along with a new style that scares the Shit outa’ all the Wrestlers…
It’s a lot more interesting/entertaining than Boring ass Wrestlers who can only GnP…cos they have absolutley NO stand Up skills (Like Matt Hughes and Tito!)

GOod post. TOtally agree with everything except wanting to see Fedor at 205. why would a fighter cut weight to a lower weight class, when he can DESTROY everyone at a higher weight class? Makes no sense to me, but whatever!
Totally agree on how great Machida’s Karate style is, and how much better it is then watching boring ass wrestlers.
IMO, Machida is the 2009 version of Bruce Lee. A PIONEER at the top of his game, who is an absolute genius when it comes to combat!

Because there is so much talent at 205 compared to HW, thats why. Who wouldn’t love to see Fedor vs Machida, Anderson Silva, Rampage, Evans, etc… after Mir and Lesnar, the HW division doesnt have a whole lot to offer Fedor. Carwin is good, but c’mon. Kongo is good, but c’mon.

I don’t think Fedor will ever cut to 205, even though he could certainly make it. All of his fans say that since he dominates at heavyweight, why should he fight at 205? That may be true, but I think another reason is that the competition at 205 is much more difficult.

How sweet were those Machida combos? Straight forward karate punches, driving, quick, and precise. He even has the karate noises down pat. I was absolutely jacked up for this fight. I agree with you 100% on seeing something new and techinical. Unfortunately the Martial Arts aspect of MMA seems to have been watered down over the years by wrestling backgrounds. I would really like to see him fight Shogun IF Shogun can regain his Pride form. I’d say one more top-level guy and then Machida. Shogun has not proved he can go the distance yet, and he’s only fought 3 rounders so far in the UFC. To me, Rampage is a hard striker, but I don’t see him solving the Machida riddle.

It’ll be Shogun/Shad next imo…who else is available for Shogun after Chuck? Is Cane scheduled or Hamill, Bonner?
by McArthur on May 26, 2009 11:23 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
No such thing as getting caught or clipped. These fighters train to land that shot so saying you got caught or clipped is a disrespect to your opponent. Just like Rashad knocked out Chuck and Forrest his trainer should accept the fact that Rashad was knocked out by a better fighter.
Further more I believe Rashad’s trainers did not prepare him well for Lyoto. He just got picked apart by waiting to counter. They should have attacked with better angles, not that the result would have been any different. But to sit back and let him pick you apart is not a better option. BloodyElbow has a good article about this on their page.

HE SHOULD HAVE WRESTLED. if the game plan was to outstrike a guy whos a karate expert and never gets hit then they are idiots. when you’re one of the best wrestlers in the country why not use it. its not like his takedowns were getting stuffed and he had to rely on striking. knocking out liddel made rashad overestimate his stand up. just like all the other wrestlers like sherk and kos. go with what you know especially against a guy whos been donig karate since he could walk. if anything the great gameplan makers at team jackson had a horrible game plan. grats to machida, you’re convincing me. never was a hater but i did find him a little boring.
by Egads on May 26, 2009 10:07 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
how can you not be a fan of machida? he just completely befuddles his opponents until they give into the boos of the crowd and come after him. The guy is just a genius. How he just doesn’t get hit and strikes with such precision is unreal. I’m not saying this is going to happen, but I think his one competition at 205 is Forrest. If one man is going to stay disciplined and stick to his gameplan it’s forrest and you know couture will devise some sort of way to fight machida.
by RT on May 26, 2009 9:06 AM EDT reply actions 0 recs
clipped? are you kidding? how about picked apart and then dominated?
Of course he has to keep his fighters self esteem up high, but I’m convinced that a lot of game planning is moot. How did all of Liddell’s game planning work for him?
Fighting is instinctive and you have to go in there with a strategy that’s for sure but people like Machida, AS & Fedor are instinctive fighters IMHO.

rashad is going to have alot of bad nights, specially when he wakes of in the middle of the night with cold sweats as a result of dreaming about Machida owning him, over and over and over again :)

Entertaining Event, but horrible for my wallet, lost every bet placed. Sherk let me down; Rashad let me down; the only guy I bet on that lost that I wasn’t dissapointed in was Matt Serra, he went out gave it everything he had and damn near won the fight. So even though he didn’t come through, still not dissapointed with Serra what so ever. Can’t wait to see him fight again.
As far as Machida vs Rashad, yea I’m eating crow, I don’t even know what to think about that one; I’m still not sold on Machida; can’t help but recognize the skills, the guys obviously very good at what he does, but I’m just not a fan.

I feel you bro!I was 5/11 for my picks!Glad to have,only lost $100 though!
Don’t worries as soon that someone(let’s hope Page)will find a huge dent in Machida’s armor…you’ll see!All the sudden fans, will drop off the dragon bandwagon!

Alpha-
You are wishing on a star if you think Page will be the one to solve the Machida puzzle.
I think it could be either Shogun or S. Silva to hand the Dragon his first loss.
BTW O Damn, I am with you on Sherk. WTF!!!
Where was his wrestling? That frustrated me to no end!!!

I know but what you expect me to do?Since that i jump off the wagon! For sure i will root for Page and every one of Machida’s opponents!Like i said before i’m gonna have to live, like everyone who don’t,like GSP and Fedor and wish them to lose every times but it doesn’t happen!

ITS o.k AFTER he does the same thing to rampage then maybe you will be sold. There should be a betting line to see if an opponent is going to be able to land a single punch against machida, thats how good he is. When anderson silva says that during sparring, machida makes him look foolish and even he cant touch machida that is just insane. Maybe they can handicap machida and make him fight with one hand tied behind his back, but i still think he would school anyone standing even like that.

like Alpha said above, I’ll be rooting for “the other guy” in every Machida fight more than likely.

thats true man , everybody hates on rashad for what ever reason, rashad has beatin some of the best fighters in his division and was unbeaten for a long time.During his last fight he got caught with several solid shots, the first shot would of knocked most men out, but rashad he could take a shot , unitl he got dropped.i cant wait 2 c rashad in the cage again, on top form

Rashad is the man…but he isn’t a champion.
I think he was overconfident with his speed and power.
The guy is a showboater too with that “fancy” footwork of his.
Gotta go…signing up for a Karate class.

leg kicks to machida’s lead foot will weaken him

I was a fan of both Machida and Evans before this fight, and I still am. I thought Evans would win due to his speed, but I really underestimated Machida’s speed. Hopefully this will humble Rashad a bit, and he can come back a better fighter.
by MM_Eh on May 26, 2009 12:04 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
LOL I was telling people before the fight, that machidas footwork, timing, reflexes, and yes even handspeed are on a much higher level than rashad, or anyone else in MMA. The man has been taught by a grandmaster of karate since he could walk. You have as much chance to beat machida, as you do a LHW bruce lee, with a fantastic ground game, takedown defense, good luck Rampage you are going to need it.

Clipped!!!!! Are you kidding me??? I guess Rashad got ‘clipped’ the same way Franklin got ‘clipped’ by Machida’s training partner. Put them in the octagon again and watch him get ‘clipped’ again, just like Rich!!!!!
I am glad he got his ass handed to him, by far the worst atitude I have seen in MMA, the nut smooch against Forrest just showed what a low class fighter he really is and that shit went all the way back to his TUF days when Hughes called him out for doing it then. He has skills, that is a given, but hard to like a guy like that. Granted most fighters have that explosion after a win dancing around and jumping on the fence but there is a difference in doing that in the heat of a huge win and openly disrespecting an opponent.
The way it looks Machida will have a long run as champ in LHW. Unless Rampage ‘clips’ him I really don’t see anyone figuring out his skill set anytime soon, but as we all know in MMA all it takes is getting ‘clipped’ once to end your nigh, just ask Rashad!!!!

I dont really get people do you knock on nfl players after they showboat when they score a touchdown. It just a way to express yourself. This is what shad loves to do and when people get into a octagon and fight there is a ton of emotions going thru them. And that shad way of expressing it and if you knock on him then knock on every dam football player in the dam nfl. And john i dont think there is many dominant fighter at 205 besides machida. Rampage didnt dominant forrest or jardine. Shogun hasnt done shit in the ufc. So why say shit that contradict your own statements. Yea rampage knocked out liddel and beat hendo a 185er thats about it. Rampage can beat machida with a block and a counter punch but it not going to be easy and he cant get frustrated. The last thing i wanna see is these two going on tuf which is getting extremely repetitive. I Wish they would change tuf to a tournament with no reality bs all u see is fights and there prefight talk and afterwards talk. I am sure it would get more ratings then the show because that all people want to see is fights.

Rashad is not that good. As much as everyone bashes on Tito, Tito beat him. Forrest isn’t that good and Chuck is old. Those were his glory fights and they seem more and more lackluster.
by xxBAxx816 on May 26, 2009 3:04 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
John, you are a hater trying to cover your tracks. You said you don’t thin Shad could handle Jardine, do you rememeber Rampage not being able to handle Jardine, he struggled very much so. To say Shad isn’t number 1 or 2 LWH in the world, is just beyond iggorance. Shad will beat when he gets his re-match. And LMFAO to whoever said that Shad “just caught Chuck”. He ended Chucks career, if that’s “just caught” scary to think what Shad could do with a “real punch” lmao, quit hating boys.
The only thing I could see Rampage doing is getting inside on Machida and making it a brawl, cause I got no doubt in my mind, Jackson won’t and isn’t a counter puncher. Rampage is a junk yard dog that just wants to brawl with everyone. I would say Machida/Page is about a 50/50 for me right now. Rampage has to train hard for this fight, none of this Jardine fight crap. Eaither way, whoever the underdog is in the Page/Machida fight, I will be laying some money on.

I say B.S to the jackson camp, look at there fighters wins and losses. Gsp is there only elite fighter there and he was great before he got there, gsp doesn’t need jackson, he’s a rare breed of fighter. Machida so outclassed rashad it wasn’t even funny, he just got clipped…lol, he was never in the fight. Look at machida’s stat’s, most elusive fighter in the UFC, take down defense of gsp, second most accurate striker in the ufc, never lost a round in the UFC. Compare that with lucky over rated rashad, there not even close to being in the same league.
by nathan on May 27, 2009 6:50 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Rashad is a good fighter as evidenced by his record and recent stoppages but the good fighter met the Master. Now it’s back to the drawing board for him and his coach. As great as MMA has become, a fight like this just shows how the level of boxing skills is just not there yet especially defensively. Machida fought HIS fight and there was nothing Rashad could do about it.
It will be fun to watch em all get in line for their title shots and get dismissed one by one….yes I think Machida will have the belt for a while.
