KJ Noons down for a return to MMA and a rematch with Nick Diaz

Props: Watch Kalib Run

Quoteworthy:

"Scott (Coker) and I have been talking the past few days. I used to fight on Scott's fight cards in San Jose ten years ago, so I've known him a long time ... I never said I was giving up MMA, I just enjoy competing in both sports, I boxed since I was a kid and just love to box. I love MMA also, I'm just going back and forth. There is some bad blood, drama, and history between [me and Nick Diaz], so I think people would want to see it again. I'm down for it. I want to fight anybody that people think is an interesting fight. I don't mind going up or down in weight. I'll train hard and fight hard for the fans."

Former EliteXC Lightweight Champion KJ Noons, who was forced to turn down a fight against Josh Thompson on April 11 due to previous boxing commitments, talks about negotiating his return to MMA with Strikeforce CEO Scott Coker. Noons also states that he's willing to fight anyone the fans deem interesting. If that's the case, I think there are a lot of fans clamoring for a rematch with Nick Diaz in the near future. Diaz lost to Noons back in 2007 via TKO due to cuts - and Diaz has since had surgery to correct that area of his face that was so easily opened. Noons vs. Diaz II -- who ya' got?

This bitch wants a rematch now?

Yeah, boxing didn’t really work out so well for him. I would love to see that fight. I would pick Diaz in a good throw-down all-out brawl.

As much as people (including me) bash noons, he’s still way more technical than 95% of MMA fighters when it comes to striking and i still think he kills diaz in the standup. But diaz could barely make 179 for mushin- yea this rematch ain’t happening.

I hope to never see him fight in mma again, and I hope to never see him on mma forums. All I want out of life, is tro completely forget that KJ noons ever existed. Is that too much to ask out of life? lol

I have ZERO RESPECT for any Champion that REFUSES to fight the #1 contender that the organization he represents deems worthy!

He became irrelevant in boxing and now he wants to come crawling back to my beloved sport? Beat it KLOWN!!!! Now he wants to fight Diaz, since Nick is doing BIG THINGS Beating Shammy and about to twist Scott smith into a pretzel. TOo little, tOo late, Mr. “Nancy BOy” Noons!

If he comes back to mma, I want to see my homeboy Eddie Alvarez beat him into a bloody pulp…splattering his face all over his douchbag father who will be sitting ring side!

Speaking of Eddie alvarez….strikeforce lightweight division is going to get a serios boost since Eddie is almost done with his Bellator obligations….he iwll then become a major player at 155 lbs in strikeforce, where he will be champion in NO TIME!!!!!

Bad News***

Strikeforce is hunting for a new opponent to feed to the Rafael “THe FUTURE” Fejao!

His opponent, Jared Hamman had to pull out of the fight with an injury..

So far, Mike Kyle (11-6-1) is the leading candidate to fill in for Hamman against Fejao!

TOo bad, Kevin “I will fight anyone, anywhere (except Fejao” wont step up and take this fight!!!!

Correction: TOo bad, KEVIN "I will fight anyone, anywhere (except Fejao)" RANDLEMAN wont step up and take this fight!!!!

TOO BAD HOMIE!!!!!!!!

KJ Noons’s 5 minutes of fame in MMA has already passed by. And Nick Diaz, well, he is one of the most successful US fighters outside of the UFC. Kinda funny how things change in P*SSY Noons’s mind. “Wow, Nick Diaz is headlining sell out shows on Showtime and nobody remembers me, maybe I should finally fight him again now?” TOO BAD!!!!! Nick is beyond KJ Noons. After KO’ing Shamrock and then KO’ing Scott Smith, a little whiny 155’er is going to be the last thing on Nick’s mind. Although, I’m sure Nick would still love his revenge, but is would be a lose lose fight for Nick now. Kinda like how KJ felt for the rematch. I say Nick doesn’t even offer him the rematch, that is, unless Nick somehow goes on a 2 fight losing streak and needs to get back on track. Because right now, Nick is lightyears ahead of KJ.

Millions of people know who Nick Diaz is. Thousands of people know who KJ Noons is. Enough said.

Now, I’ll read the comments.

He’s ready now because Diaz beat Frank and is becoming one of the faces of the organization. Everyone is giving him his due and now KJ (can’t box professionally successfully) Noons, wants to steal the spotlight. He ducked and ducked a rematch saying Diaz wasn’t deserving, If I were Diaz, I’d tell him no thanks you don’t deserve it.

by getrawbc on May 27, 2009 6:44 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

good post GetRawbc. As much as I want to see Diaz twist him up into a Philly Pretzel….FOCK this Punk! TOo little, TOo Late! He could have Manned up and gave mma fans what they wanted to see a year ago. It didnt work out in boxing so he wants to come crawling back! I wouldnt even let him fight on strikeforce! He disgraced himself when he REFUSED to defend his title against the fighjter the organization he represented deemed the #1 contender!

Fock off Kj….o bcak to fighting with Pillows as gloves. LOSER!

They dont, such blatant bias by the nut huggers on the next affliction card, saying its better than any card UFC could put on. UFC puts 1 or 2 cards a month, and a bunch of them have been way better than affliction 1 and 2. Barnett has no chance of winning this and everyone knows it, he is way over ranked and hasnt acheived anything worthwhile in the last 3 years, just more padding to the russians record. At least we get to see what hes made of after this fight – if he doesnt go to UFC = pussy.
Musasi is a dick – i went from 185 to hw and skipped the entire ufc mw and lhw roster in the process, good thinking Gegard cuz you would last a second with those guys.

by PanicZoo on May 26, 2009 7:43 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Wrong thread and bashing quality fighters like Barnett and Mousasi makes you look even dumber. Affliction 3 will be a quality card, just as UFCs 99-102 are shaping up to be, it’s a great time to be an MMA fan so why resort to bashing another promotion and quality fighters because they aren’t in the UFC?

by David W-S on May 26, 2009 10:22 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Actually I was commenting on past posts saying that UFC couldn’t put on a card as good as Aff 3 which is just rubbish. I wasn’t bashing Barnett just pointing out the facts, feel free to correct me, is he over ranked at #2? Has he had a win against a quality opponent recently? Is he going to beat Fedor? Is there padding on fedors record? Also I wasn’t bashing Fedor, just saying that his next move after this fight will be very telling, but I consider anything except a move into the UFC HW or LHW division as a cop-out. Tell me what you think he should do after beating Barnett?
As for Musasi, I am bashing him a bit, his decisions not his skill, I would rather see him fight A Silva or Machida for a title than see him on a can crushing exercise in Japan. The way I see his fights going are Hunt, Choi, Soku and Belfort, I mean WTF. I’m not interested in these fights and Gegard was in a prime spot after winning the MW gp to go to the UFC and mix up the MW and/or LHW picture, if he wants to move to HW then he can fight Cain, Kongo, Carwin or Dos Santos to see how he fares against well rounded Heavyweights’ on the rise, which he should see as his peer group not freaks and has-beens in Japan.

i am with you on that, i really forgot all about this guy and don’t care if he ever fights again.

by roy on May 26, 2009 7:49 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Nancy boy noons is a punk, can’t box and will get dominated by Diaz this time out! Kinda convenient he’s saying this right after Nick says he won’t cut to 155 anymore!

by kevin on May 26, 2009 7:39 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

yh i agree nobody cares about this tool

by andrewb on May 27, 2009 4:42 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Did you see Diaz’s face after their last fight?

by WB on May 26, 2009 7:41 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

ya His face was really messed up but Diaz kept going for the takedown and that clearly wasnt working, Diaz should have used his reach and picked him apart!! like im sure he will if he gets a rematch!!

by phlicutioner on May 26, 2009 7:57 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Sounds like a apology too me , for being a douche.

Bobby o’shea – Noons tore Diaz up the first fight , would be much of the same the 2nd .. imho

by Dayzah on May 26, 2009 7:42 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Yeah they just want to make another big money fight…it seems strikeforce has found their new poster boy in diaz..i dont care for cung le or gina carano much less noons. i have more interest in seeing diaz fight. Funny i remember him saying he was going to pursue his “true career” in boxing and that MMA was to test the waters and then he has a horrible fight decisioned with a nobody and say…"yep man that was an amazing boxing run. time to end my journeyman ways and go back to MMA. he has turned down three fights and all of a sudden fighting diaz again makes sense..i remember he did everything know to man to avoid a rematch with diaz and throw a fit when other fighters could not fit his schedule. the guy is a tool. he no real competitors heart he just moves to whatever can get him an easy win.

by santiago69us on May 26, 2009 7:42 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

can’t we just forget about this punk. He finally anounces his return to MMA after Nick says he won’t fight at lightweight again. What a tool.

by DB on May 26, 2009 7:45 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Yeah, that’s about what I was going to say. He says he’ll fight Diaz now that he knows that is highly improbable. If I were Strikeforce, I’d present him with the Thomson fight and tell him to take it or leave it.

by Mahde on May 26, 2009 7:53 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

gilbet or thompson would smash this fool!!!

by phlicutioner on May 26, 2009 7:58 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Odd that Nick just said 170 is his limit…I can’t see Nick comfortable at 155 anymore but I could see him maybe making an exception this time

by McArthur on May 26, 2009 7:58 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Noons and Diaz fought at 160 didnt they?

by belfort_fan on May 26, 2009 8:04 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

yes

by Dayzah on May 26, 2009 8:28 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I thought the lowest weight Nick ever made was 160lbs? not 155lbs.

by DAVE A on May 27, 2009 5:45 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

He said he didn’t care about weight. He really doesn’t deserve to be in the same cage as Diaz but if they do fight it should be at 170.

by brandongk4 on May 26, 2009 8:21 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

KJ beat Diaz, handedly, the first fight, I’m not saying Diaz shouldn’t be the favourite to win the rematch, but to say a guy ’doesn’t belong in the cage as him’ after KJ won t he firsty match, seems sort of silly.

by ShaiZ on May 26, 2009 9:20 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

KJ is a pussy

by SluggerCitySoldier on May 26, 2009 9:10 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Love how everyone rips on KJ cause he wanted to do something else beside MMA, lol bunch of Dana Whites on here I see. Fact is he DESTROYED Diaz and will again. Diaz is a punk ass bitch who anyone with a half brain couldn’t possibly like.

by New Here on May 26, 2009 9:16 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

People bash KJ because he refused to take a fight with Elite’s mandatory challenger, then bailed on the sport, had a mediocre boxing career, backed out of a fight with Thomson and now is coming crawling back to MMA after his failed career and is challenging someone who has just announced that he is permeanently moving up to WW at least. I’ve never liked KJ and never will, his attitude is shocking and if he doesn’t care about MMA then why should MMA fans care about him? He’s a no name who got too big for his boots after a big upset win and is still begging for attention.

by David W-S on May 26, 2009 10:26 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Noons was the first to talk shit about not having another fight with Nick Diaz. He started to say he beat him already so what is the point of another fight. He now wants to fight Nick because of all the attention his getting from beating Shamrock and Noons just wants to live on his fame since his boxing career is not what he wanted. KJ Noons is the biggest bitch in MMA so fuck KJ Noons and fuck Cityboxing. If Noons wants fight let him come up weight.

They fought at 160 the first fight and if you are a Diaz Bros hater, you’ll love the punishment Nick Diaz suffers in this fight. Gotta love that one knee to the face on a telegraphed shoot. Beautiful…

by sudnvictory on May 27, 2009 3:28 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

What a baby, dude doesn’t want to defend his belt, prolly short on cash now so he starts hyping. Jeez, the words interesting fight and KJ Noons don’t belong anywhere near each other.

by rockwell on May 27, 2009 4:10 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

People just like the hate on the Diaz brothers because they think they are punks. The truth is that KJ is the biggest punk ass brat MMA has ever seen. He doesn’t deserve this attention. Winning from cuts, especially against an unphased Nick Diaz, is not something to be proud of.
