I wanted Jose to win soooooooo bad but i knew he wouldnt. Dont know if anyone knew this but Jose was self trained for this fight. You cant train yourself and expect to win against a professional fighter.

by belfort_fan on May 26, 2009 3:19 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Not only self trained but also cornered by his girlfriend!

by OJR on May 26, 2009 3:48 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Dead serious plus he came to the ring with is baseball bat!

by Alpha Male 360 on May 26, 2009 3:52 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

If he could have used it he would have had a chance.

by PW on May 26, 2009 6:14 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

i think he had a good game plan but as soon as he saw that HMC wasnt affected at all by his overhand right he sort of faked an injury so he could use it as an excuse when he gets pounded out

by ufcaddict on May 26, 2009 6:57 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I think he was trained by Cote…?

by McArthur on May 26, 2009 3:55 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Well not just Timmay!
We,can now assume that he,can beat Kimbo also!

by Alpha Male 360 on May 26, 2009 4:05 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Canseco vs. Kimbo in boxing…Don King, please.

by belfort_fan on May 26, 2009 3:24 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Belfort!Did you decide to take your fight the 28th!

by Alpha Male 360 on May 26, 2009 3:58 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I could be wrong on this one, but I think it was Frank Shamrock that Jose asked to train him, but Frank (or someone else, but I think it was FRank) said no because Jose is just doing it for a quick payday.

Someone that he asked to train him said that, it was on Inside MMA this week. If I’m wrong, someone please correct me.

by ViolentMike on May 26, 2009 4:45 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

VM I think you might of meant Frank Trigg. It was stated earlier on mania that Frank Trigg refused to train him saying he was just a rat doing this for a quick payday. I’m not 100% sure tho, so I would look it up.

by Cogito Ergo Sum on May 26, 2009 5:03 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

ya, it was trigg. he didnt want to train him because of the negative stigma cansaco carries with his love for juice

by child on May 26, 2009 6:46 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Alpha, My trainer wouldnt let me fight on the 28th but im fighting in July at 145.

by belfort_fan on May 26, 2009 8:02 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Sorry to hear that buddy! But glad at the same time.
You’ll be better at 145 since that is your natural weight. And jumping into a fight over your weight class with injuries is crazy!
Let it me know a weeks before your fight date in July.I,would appreciate it!

by Alpha Male 360 on May 26, 2009 10:37 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

For sure man.

by belfort_fan on May 27, 2009 1:52 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

“LOL” yep, that about sums up all I had to say about this fight.

by O damn he got caught on May 26, 2009 3:23 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

jose sucks, but he lasted longer than i thought and he gave up at the end not that he would have ever gotten choi off of him but he didn’t even try.

by roy on May 26, 2009 3:20 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

He started tapping like a bitch.

by belfort_fan on May 26, 2009 3:22 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Didn’t you just say you wanted Jose to win? Sacarsim I hope?

by Dragon on May 26, 2009 3:42 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Yes… remember UFC primtime BJ penn saying if you tap to punched your a little bitch…. thats what i was referring to.

by belfort_fan on May 26, 2009 3:55 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

And most likely you would be tapping like a bitch too with someone that big pounding on you!

by sdow on May 26, 2009 3:45 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

No i wouldnt dickhead!

by belfort_fan on May 26, 2009 3:56 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

are you defending Jose???

by McArthur on May 26, 2009 3:58 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

No, I’m saying that it’s easy to be an internet hard ass and claim that someone tapped like a bitch in a professional fight but if any one of us ever got in the ring we would probably tap to strikes from a giant too! I’m sick of people that call people pussies when they themselves would never have the balls to step into the ring with a 7 foot 2 professional fighter!

by sdow on May 26, 2009 4:12 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

sdow is right on this one.

by markie on May 26, 2009 4:18 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Agreed man, Jose had no right to be in that ring but I would not have liked having a giant on top of me reigning down on my head when I understood little about what I was doing. Sorry man out of the safety of my own body I too would have tapped. You gotta be smart and its dumb to sit there and take a beating when there is no way to better your position, strike back, or defend yourself. People who take damage just to prove they are tough guys are some of the dumbest people in the world. They might be tough fighters but ask them a 5th grade question and I bet its been beaten clear from their brains.

by Cogito Ergo Sum on May 26, 2009 5:08 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I am a fighter! and i would step in the cage with anyone they put me in there with.

by belfort_fan on May 26, 2009 7:36 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Belfort Fan, you’re just another keyboard warrior. STFU. You’d shit your pants the moment Hong Man Choi entered the ring. But keep talking your trash from the safety of the internet.

by Ronnie Coles on May 26, 2009 8:38 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Thats cool Ronnie. You just must not know what its like to have self respect and self pride. If your not a fighter and you would be scared, thats cool. Me personaly am a fighter and yes i would be scared shitless of him but if thats who they matched me up with thats who i woould fight. Plus i fight at 145 jackass. I dont need the safety of the internet. If i ever met you i would beat your ass for being nosey and butting into me and another persons conversation. Your a fag.

by belfort_fan on May 26, 2009 9:33 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

TO EVERYONE: (besides Ronnie Coles hes an idiot). I WAS JOKING ABOUT THE TAPPING LIKE A BITCH THING I WAS MOCCING BJ PENN.

So you can all shut up about it!!!!

by belfort_fan on May 26, 2009 9:39 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

by belfort_fan on May 27, 2009 1:59 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

He did better than what i thought. up until he started running like a girl scout , he actually looked decent

by CARNAGE on May 26, 2009 3:26 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Agreed. I’d actually like to see him fight someone his own size in an MMA fight. I know he’s been in celebrity boxing. But he looked a lot better than I thought. Definitely much better than the bloggers made him sound.

by wAyNe on May 26, 2009 5:22 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

get back on the juice jose! i bet manny ramirez would have won that fight.

by kmoney on May 26, 2009 3:26 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

The “knee injury” is his out for why it ended so quick.

“Oh frick, that jab about knocked me out. I dont like this anymore. I’d better hurt my knee and get out of here with my money….. OH, MY KNEE!”

I found them funny too!
I guess i’m an AH too!

by Alpha Male 360 on May 26, 2009 3:54 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

He had to come out with a baseball bat. DREAM needed him to do it so the Japanese fans would somewhat recognize him.

by Cogito Ergo Sum on May 26, 2009 5:10 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

i bet that bat was corked too!

by child on May 26, 2009 6:51 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

that was entertainment not sport. i felt like i was watching some type of circus act rite?

by CARNAGE on May 26, 2009 3:27 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Exactly. The Japanese seem a little bit to much into the freak shows for my taste.

by Dragon on May 26, 2009 3:43 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Bautiful kicks!!!

by Dennis on May 26, 2009 3:32 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I haven’t laughed this much EVER watching an MMA fight. LOL!!!!

by Alex on May 26, 2009 3:37 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Personally, I liked how he turned his back and ran away every time Choi landed a jab. Didn’t watch that clip, but if they show the replay, Choi doesn’t land a punch on the ground until the last couple that were to the back of the head when Jose was already tapping for dear life. I wanted him to get BLASTED. And instead, he got jabbed and tapped.

by ViolentMike on May 26, 2009 3:38 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Yeah, he took about three donkey kongs to the back of the head and that was about it, and that was while he was tapping.

This stuff is actually funny when it’s announced and when thinking about it, but when it comes down to fight time, it’s sort of sad and the entertainment part has long been spent.

by RobH86 on May 26, 2009 6:14 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Did anyone hear what Frank Mir had to say about karate? It was beautiful. Jose is a victim of perfecting hard kicks and punches on a bag or pad and doing kata. At some point you have to spar and not tag your it sparring with pads on but really sparring.

That is what has made jiu-jitsu, wrestling and kick boxing so much better that kung-fu, karate etc…

MOST of the schools in the usa are all theory and no real fighting or even remotely close sparring ever takes place. It is all memorize this dance routine, break a board and pay for the next belt.

by hatteras on May 26, 2009 4:09 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Yep the McDojos are useless, it’s just watered down rubbish.

by RobH86 on May 26, 2009 10:06 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

At least Jose had the right game plan. Stick and move. Got in some good shots too. Kicks with both legs… Not too bad for an over the hill retired juicer with no fight experience if you ask me.

by enzo-enormous on May 26, 2009 4:25 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

hahaha 20secs into the fight, “gee Jose has lasted 20 seconds longer than I thought he would” hahaha

by DirtbagHtr on May 26, 2009 4:36 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

HAHAHHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHHHAHAHAHHAHAHHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHHAHAHHAA even juicing couldn’t help him!

by Jay on May 26, 2009 4:43 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

That right hand Jose landed right off the bat (zing!) was actually pretty hard.

I was surprised.

by Brandon on May 26, 2009 4:44 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Belfort fan dont try to back a saying from a person who 1up his own saying by giving up in his own corner. Which is far worse then tapping due to strikes.

by desperus on May 26, 2009 4:57 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

That right there disgraces MMA. The dude was throwing tae kwon do kicks lol!

by xxBAxx816 on May 26, 2009 5:43 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

who else won that night? who fights next

by hatteras on May 26, 2009 6:44 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

OK, so did Jose really blow his knee out at the end, or am I just on crazy pills?

by Space on May 26, 2009 8:30 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Canseco kind of fights like la cheata

by hhddavidson on May 26, 2009 8:46 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

He said he had hurt his knee in training before the fight.

The Bob Tapp fight was entertaining, as long as it lasted.

by KS on May 26, 2009 8:57 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

This was the silliest fight that I’ve ever seen, from the 7ft freak to the untrained baseball player with bat and gf as his corner, then the idiot ran away for most of the fight, faked an injury and tapped to strikes when he wasn’t getting hit. Funny to watch but not a proud moment in MMA history.

by David W-S on May 26, 2009 9:47 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

not that i think jose has talent or a shot at winning for that matter, but how’s about we halt all punches to the back of the head.
