Jason Mayhem Miller 'too hyped' for Ronaldo 'Jacare' Souza at Dream 9

Props: Twitter.com
Quoteworthy:
"Got too hyped and punted Jacare in his head Wanderlei Silva style. Got deemed a 'No Contest' they hold the belt for a rematch. Dammit."
Jason "Mayhem" Miller Tweet’s about what happened earlier today during his middleweight title bout against Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza at DREAM 9. The rematch was halted early in the first round because of an errant blow from Miller to a downed Souza. The strike carved a deep laceration to Souza’s head, which forced ringside officials to call off the match prematurely because of the severity of the bloody ax wound. The fight was ruled a no contest. Another rematch between the two to determine a more decisive ending seems to be the next logical step; however, it has yet to be officially announced by Japan’s Fighting & Entertainment Group (FEG).

I think the "Fuck that vagina-head part was in a reply to someone telling him on twitter he intentionally kicked him :) Up to the word “DAMNIT” though is what he said about the fight. Just a small FYI :)

You’re exactly correct GreenStar. It’s sucks this quote is spinning all over the web and it is not accurate. Anyone can check Miller’s twitter account and see he did not say this.

I’m not real sure. Seriously, they weren’t really fighting for very long before he kicked his face “Wanderlei Silva style”
btw, I LOVE that phrase. even if it is inaccurate.

Jacare was actually getting the better of the standup exchanges which was a big surprise. But then again, Mayhem is always able to negate the best MW BJJ artist on the planet. MAYHEM MONKEYS!!!!!!!!
“Crazy MMA 09” – The intro to the fight was classic with the two of them dancing with those chicks, and then Mayhem comes out with a couple dozen of them dresses as Catholic School girls all doing the dance together.
I did say “able” before which reminded me of Abel Cullum. I admittedly do not watch King of the Cage, so his fight against Wilson Reis was the first time I seen him fight and I really liked his style (although a little more technique on the punches wouldn’t hurt). Reis was BORING and Abel wanted to fight. Just like that other kid, Halverson or something that Reis fought in EliteXC. Was really pulling for Abel to pull that off.

IM a Mayhem MOnkey but Im so damn pissed at him right now. A$$HOLE ruined a highly anticipated fight by tryingt o kick is head off! Why was it ruled a no contest? Its not like it was an accident. YOu dont accidentaly Kick someone in the head “wanderlei style”.
i think the win should have gone to Jacre and that he should have been awarded the belt. Jacre has been training months for this fight and its not his fault that Mayhem did something illegal and ruined the fight. Why should Jacre not get the title? THats messed up if you ask me.
Jacre should be awarded the win, and the belt…but Mayhem should get another immediate rematch, and his LAST SHOT at the JIts GOD!!
i am a bigtime Jacre fan, but also a MAYHEM MOnkey for life. Just tryingto keep it real!

Knees to the head of a grounded opponent. He clipped Jacare with his shin. He was only inches away from having his knee crach Jacare’s skull.
At least that’s what I thought watching it. He really does follow thru with his foot though, and he “supposedly” twittered a phrase about a Wanderlei kick.
You are right about feeling cheated. I watched all but 3 fights live before work, and had to wait until my lunch to go home and watch Bibiano, Joe Warren, and Mayhem Miller. A very dissapointing end to an EXCELLENT Dream event.
Also, John, did you see my comment to you in the “results” thread (I believe..)

God this is why i hate mayhem- 1. he’s not funny, 2. He ruins good fights, 3. He’s hyped up 4. He’s not funny. Couldn’t wait until he got chocked up. He was gettin schooled in the standup IMO.

1. False, he is quite funny
2. Really? lol
3. Since when is hype bad? Mayhem isn’t really hyped, so much as he is loved by his fans. By far the most popular “free agent fighter” around.
4. I am still laughing from his entrance, as usual.
His BJJ skills are nasty, Jacare was not going to submit him, Mayhem gave him 15 mins to do so last time and he couldn’t. Everytime Jacare grasps onto a sub, Mayhem smiles and gives the ol’ thumbs up. Still love his fight against Miura in WEC, very entertaining.
First time I saw Miller fight was against GSP at UFC ? like 5 years ago. It was after TUF 1 and was the first fight on the main card of Liddell/Couture II vs GSP. It was Mayhem’s only fight in the UFC. He lost a decision. He got more or less got GnP’d for 15 mins and was smiling, giggling, and spitting up blood while GSP battered his face. He genuinely looked like he was enjoying getting his face beat in. THAT made me an instant fan!!!
