machida’s chin is just begging to get hit by rashad’s right hand.

by Toad on May 23, 2009 9:14 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

It’s been like that in all his fights, and so far no one has been successful.

by PW on May 23, 2009 9:24 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Dont remember the last time Machida didnt have an opponent tower over him. It could just be the angle, but he actually looks bigger.

by c-war on May 23, 2009 12:43 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Yep….Rashad wins by big knock-out

by Robert(1) on May 23, 2009 9:25 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I HOPE NOT!

I think Rashad’s antics have turned me off. I really like Lyoto and his grass roots style so I hope he pulls it off. In my eyes he would make a perfect champion in every aspect.

If Rashad pulls it off against a just as young and hungry fighter – then I will have respect for him, as long as he doesn’t do anymore of that crap.

Either way this fight goes we’re going to see “Black on Black” crime (can’t wait). If Lyoto wins, he’ll pick apart Rampage, so then Rashad and Rampage will square off guaranteed.

WAR MACHIDA!! – Your day has come.

by UFC Champ on May 23, 2009 10:07 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

This one is going to be tough to call but in my head I see Rashad blasting Lyoto and knocking him out!
Rashad is going to test that chin more than once and end this thing in the second. No more silly antics after the fight, you’re better than that!

by Sofa-King-Toasty on May 23, 2009 11:23 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

whoever wins today (hopefully Machida) will be a new contender for the P4P debate.

by Don "The Prophet" King on May 23, 2009 12:36 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

nooo, lyoto will win, rashad wont easily be shaken off his game though, but lyoto will win by decision or TKO

by SGTBlitz on May 23, 2009 10:12 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Rashad bet money on himself as a +210 underdog for tomorrow’s fights against Machida. Is betting on your own fights even legal?

by john on May 23, 2009 10:23 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

he didnt say how much he bet though!

by john on May 23, 2009 10:23 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

as long as you’re not betting against yourself! It’s very unethical, but not illegal

by kevin on May 23, 2009 10:23 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

It’s not baseball, so it should be legal. If he bet big on Machida I would be a little concerned.

by PW on May 23, 2009 10:36 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

betting on your opponent is 100% illegal and you’re gonna find yourself in alot of trouble!

Well,i learn something new today! Thanks guys!

Everyone keeps saying Machida’s never lost a round. Watch his fight with BJ Penn and tell me if you still believe that. IMO BJ won that fight. Don’t believe the hype.

by knowone on May 23, 2009 11:48 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

You must be crazy… in no way did CBJ win that fight. He showed a lot of heart but come on.

by just some dong on May 23, 2009 12:15 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Also, I believe the quote is that he hasn’t lost a round in the UFC – not in his entire career. Even then, I’m pretty sure he has lost 1 round on 1 judge’s scorecard in 1 of his UFC fights… So you’re right, WHAT A LOSER.

by just some dong on May 23, 2009 12:18 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

First of all,“DONG”, have you actually watched the Penn/Machida fight?? Second, the hype behind this fight is that Machida has destroyed everyone he’s fought. NOT TRUE!!!! He hasn’t and look at his competition in the UFC and tell me who was a top 10 person he beat??? LOSER!!!!

by knowone on May 23, 2009 4:11 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

If Rashad wins, ( i hope he dose) there can’t be no doubt that he is No. 1 in lightheavyweight UFC.

by Keyvan on May 23, 2009 9:16 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

IF he passes thru Lyoto than he has Rampage left, If he beats Rampage than I will consider him Num 1

by Il Nino on May 23, 2009 9:22 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

NO way! Beating Machida, Liddell (past prime), Forrest. Draw with tito, split decision with Bisping cant possibly make him jump Rampage in the Rankings. Rampage has beaten:
Liddell (in his Prime twice)
Wanderlei((Former PRIDE chanp)
Randleman (former UFC Champ)
Bustamante (Former UFC champ)
Henderson (former Pride champ)
Arona
Ninja (prime)

I dont think that what Rampage has accomplished in the past 5 years should be forgotten! Winner of this fight would no doubt be #2 behind Rapage. If the winner of this fight oes on to beat Rampage, then yeah they should take the #1 spot!

by john on May 23, 2009 10:04 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

FYI: Serra looks in great shape!

Im happy to see fans appreciating and rooting for Machida! he deserves it!

I dont think Rashad looked to good at the weigh ins. He kind of looks sick to me!

by john on May 23, 2009 10:10 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Not much love from the crowd for Rashad. I would like to see Lyoto win, but mostly I just hope it will be an exciting fight, and not a dance off.

by naturalshadow on May 23, 2009 9:20 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

i second that..i think it is great that he is elusive and i just pray that rashad and lyoto don’t just dance back and forth for round after round..i liked rashad and think he is a good fighter..but his attitude is weak..lyoto was raised to be a fighter..rashad is too cocky..so now i would not mind so much if he ate the mat..BUT mostly i want an exciting fight..and once again all i could hope for with the hughes vs serra is for a magical double knock out of each other..both matt’s suffer from severe short man syndrome..

by sarah on May 23, 2009 10:49 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I’m a HUGE fan of both of these guys and I almost don’t even want to see them fight simply because it means one has to lose. On the other hand I’m super excited to see them square off. If I have to pick a winner I’d say Machida but something tells me Rashad & Mr. Jackson have something up their sleeves. I’d bet money we see a ton of clinching against the cage & wrestling from Rashad. Especially since Tito & Thiago had fleeting moments of success with that in their fights with him.

Someone’s “0” has got to GO!!!

by Machine on May 23, 2009 11:01 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

listen to them boo hughes. amazing.

still dont get why evans gets booed so much. he’s funny in interviews, good at striking, finishes fights. they cant all be that pissed off becuase he did the sanford and son celebration after knocking out liddell?

by ben on May 23, 2009 9:20 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Besides the celebration after knocking out the Iceman, the kiss/cup grab, against Forrest, and talkin $#*t to Rampage, I have no clue why people don’t like him.

by Big Jake on May 23, 2009 9:28 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

thing is tho – evans had just won the belt – it was a big thing for him (obviously for anyone after winnning a title), then they bought rampage in and they both started talking smack.

kind of takes the moment from you after celebrating your win that you immedietly get put face to face with someone else.

also – i re watched the liddell fight – he went over to check him after about 30 seconds. whats the issue there really?

only thing people could get upset about was the nut grab and too be honest, a bit of bravado is allrite in fighting.

by ben on May 23, 2009 9:38 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Actually they brought Rashad in right after Rampage fought, and Rashad started taking shit personal and running his fukcing mouth. Your facts are twisted a bit

by lokie on May 23, 2009 9:55 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Chuck runs around like a mainiac after knocking people out and no one says a thing about it. I actually do not remember Rashad doing any sort of crazy celebration after knocking out Chuck, when he had every right to. The people that wanted to lynch Rashad after he grabbed his nuts for a split second were all bitter Chuck and Forrest fans. It was laughable the amount of people who made such a big deal out of that when you look at what other fighters get up to in the Octogan. Forrest thought nothing of it and they were joking and laughing after the match, but the sore losers still had to make a big deal out of it. The Rampage thing I think was a little over the top, but if it was all about getting into Rampages head and using a bit of phsycology on him, I can accept that. There have always been a lot of fans who showed zero respect for Rashad, and after beating Chuck and Forrest and upsetting the Rampage fans, I think he expects to be booed more than cheered for.

by Ade on May 23, 2009 3:05 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Are they booing him or cheering “huuuuughes”? Hard to believe he’s getting booed that bad!

by just some dong on May 23, 2009 12:24 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Believe it there boooing him!!! He isn’t a very likeable guy for most people… He is an arrogant/ignorant redneck… When he meet joe riggs wife the first thing out of his mouth is “Hey, Sorry I had to beat your husband up!” What an a*ss! Look up his book! it really shows how ignorant hughes is… And what an a*ss he was to tim sylvia, someone who was suppose to be a friend and teamate…

Whats so funny is he actully thinks he is a nice guy!!

by mike22 on May 23, 2009 6:30 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

If rashad does knock Machida out He will have conquered his toughest challenge to date, but I HIGHLY Doubt machida to get knocked out. The guy barely ever gets hit.

by CARNAGE on May 23, 2009 9:24 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

people dont like Rashad for the simple fact that he acts like a fool inside the Octagon with his showboating. Got no love show no love. I HOPE HE GETS ROCKED!

by CARNAGE on May 23, 2009 9:28 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I hope Rashad knocks him out.

by Slap Nuts on May 23, 2009 9:29 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

So do I. Sorry, but Rashad vs. Rampage is just a really watchable fight. You know somebody is getting knocked out in that one.

you grab your balls at me you better cover your face, Forrest is an idiot for standing there an just watching him do that.

So it’s Matt Hughes and Chuck Liddell getting into the Hall of Fame at UFC 100 right? Nothing else really makes much sense to me.

by Damian on May 23, 2009 10:07 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

hopefully the UFC gets their head out of their ass and inducts Evan Tanner int the Hall of fame!

++++++++++

Because he is a BOOOOORING fighter.

got to agree with some guys on here.rashads a fighter who improves every fight but ive never wanted someone to lose as much as him,he just rubs people up the wrong way.well second thoughts ill put muuur on that list aswell!!

by scott on May 23, 2009 11:16 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Rashad’s antics from the start turned me off liking him as a fighter. What makes it easier is that he sucks. Hope this guy enjoys the last main event he will ever see!

by xxBAxx816 on May 23, 2009 11:24 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Rashad will be the fourth undefeated fighter that gets (T)KOd by Lyoto Machida.

Silva, Franklin and Bonnar make some room for Evans.

by IrishMike on May 23, 2009 11:26 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

If you really think of it, out side of some big fluke…O.K I know there are no flukes in this sport….something freakish ex serra/gsp 1 looking at lyotos stats I can’t see rashad winning. His 2 ko’s came when two guys not 1/10 as elusive as machida had there hands down, chuck is notorious for this and evans has fast hands. On paper rashad is going to lose unless he can pull something out of his ass. Hughes almost looked like he was backing away from serra, maybe serra had bad breath, but I still see hughes beating serra. I’ll talk to you guys tomorrow and see how things turned out.

by nathan on May 23, 2009 11:27 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Rashad is the Champion of the division and unbeaten. He is also a very intelligent and versatile fighter who adapts and changes his style for each opponent. If he wins it will be because of hard work skill and training, I do not think luck has anything to do with it. Rashad hasn’t fought anyone like Machida, but neither has Machida fought anyone like Rashad.

by Ade on May 23, 2009 3:13 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

HASHAD like Wanderlei says it… IZAAAA , Uhmmm IZAAA, Hashad…

by Il Nino on May 23, 2009 11:39 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Serra must have really trained hard to come in over weight. I don’t care if Hughes is the biggest jerk in the world, he puts on great fights. Matt Serra is nobody. After he gets stomped tonight he can go hangout with Pete Sells and they can talk about their average careers.

by Nik on May 23, 2009 11:40 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

lol, he beat GSP! Look at his losses. BJ, tight decision to Karo (who was out). A spinning luck punch. Serra is game!

by kevin on May 23, 2009 11:54 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I will give him the win over GSP but really how many times do you think he could do that? And no matter who you lost to you still lost. How lucky is a spinning back fist? You throw the strike and it connects and it knocks your opponent out, isnt that what its supposed to do?

A loss is a loss, yes. But there is a huge difference between losing to GSP and BJ compared to losing to a couple of nobodies. Serra is always a game opponent.

I am hoping Serra wins, but I kind of see Hughes winning. Serra looks better than I have ever seen him though. Either way I hope its a great three round war where they beat the crap out of each other.

by Mike on May 23, 2009 1:35 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Why do people dislike Evans?

I’ll bet money that it’s because of how well he plays into the stereotype of the loud-mouthed black pro athlete. By UFC standards, he’s Floyd Mayweather Jr.

(just to make it clear, I’m trying to comment on perception, not make some sweeping statement about sports and race in America, and the right and wrong of it)

by MattNY on May 23, 2009 12:19 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

It’s going to be just SICK how badly Machida will make rashad look. Can’t wait :)

by sernamma on May 23, 2009 2:54 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

im sorry but i disagree that Tanner should be enrolled in the ufc hall of fame. For sure he was a solid fighter in the sport, but to say he is a legend is wrong, its like a pity vote just because the guy unfortunately passed away.

The hall of fame should be for true greats of the sport, other wise the hall of fame will have every champ that has held a belt, thats gony be a lot of fighters!!!!

Still torn between rashad and machida, prob give machida the nod but its a hard call. Hughes hopefully to beat serra!

Anyone on the ps3 online? I got the game today and its ossom, very hard to get used to though!!
