A Fail of Two Cities: Jose Canseco stiffed at home, possibly abroad

Former baseball slugger and steroid stool pigeon Jose Canseco speaks at a recent press conference regarding the drug suspension of fellow shamed ballplayer Manny Ramirez.

And as the picture indicates, there isn't much interest in what the former AL MVP has to say on the topic -- even if most of his past allegations have been proven to be correct.

The question now, is can we expect a similar turnout when the Cuban Godzilla descends on Japan for the DREAM 9 Super Hulk Tournament? It's hard to predict, since Japan does have a certain infatuation with colorful characters.

Canseco is set to do battle with the 7’ 2" gargantuan Hong Man Choi at the DREAM 9 event, which takes place in the Yokohama Arena in Yokohama, Japan, on May 26.

In addition to being knocked out by former Philadelphia Eagles return man Vai Sikahema in a celebrity boxing match last year, Canseco went the distance with putrid Partridge Danny Bonaduce earlier this year.

With that kind of resume, expect a gruesome ending in his squash match against Choi.

It could be the first cheers Canseco gets in more than a decade.
