Look at the odds on Evans, damn thats tempting. I really want to throw something down on Rashad at +175 that is not a bad bet at all imo.

Yea I think I’m gonna parlay Yoshida, Sherk, Evans. The pay out would be friggin awesome if that plays out.

by O damn he got caught on May 12, 2009 10:02 AM EDT up reply actions

Rashad and Serra are both great odds! If I had to pick one, it would be Serra!

by kevin on May 12, 2009 10:37 AM EDT up reply actions

Wow I have Machida winning the fight on paper but anytime you have an undefeated fighter in a chapionship match with odds like that, you almost cant resist. This may be the last time Rashad is an underdog if he wins this one. Lay the money on him while you can!

by c-war on May 12, 2009 11:01 AM EDT up reply actions

I’ve never betted on MMA before but this will be a first for me…I’m gonna throw some coins on Rashad for sure. He’s the undefeated champ…what more do you want when picking a guy to bet on? Rashad is going to get to Machida’s chin and he’s going to plant a huge overhand right across that chin and Machida will be staring up at the lights before the end of the 3rd…come get your easy money boys! Serra is also very tempting at those odds. I may have to put some down on him as well.

by Buster Bluth on May 12, 2009 11:39 AM EDT up reply actions

For about two months now, I have been LOVING Sherk at -270 against Edgar (and telling people to jump on it). I put a good amount of money on him when BoDog first opened their lines because I thought that that line would move alot. However, the line hasn’t moved at all (unless you count 005). I find this surprising. WHO is betting on Edgar??? Some people must be, because otherwise Sherk would be -500 by now since EVRY better I know has money on Sherk.

Also, I have a parlay with Sherk and Machida, which pays out a little better than even money!

And like most, I find VALUE in Serra at +190. Last night I put in a parlay of Sherk and Serra. It pays out just about 3 to 1. (Last night I also put more $ on Sherk).

by ViolentMike on May 12, 2009 12:18 PM EDT up reply actions

Where can we bet in Canada??

by UFC Champ on May 12, 2009 12:20 PM EDT up reply actions

Agree with all of ya. Good money to be made on Rashad, Sherk and Serra for various reasons.

Am not a gambling man but there are some very tempting numbers there.

by Nick J on May 12, 2009 12:49 PM EDT up reply actions

Serra = lost money

VM – it would totally suck for you if somehow Frankie pulled and upset.

by Synyster on May 12, 2009 1:18 PM EDT up reply actions

Went ahead and bet on Sherk/Evans/Yoshida parlay and threw down $50 on Serra. Guess we’ll see, now that money’s involved I can’t wait for this event lol.

by O damn he got caught on May 12, 2009 1:21 PM EDT up reply actions

sherk/evans/yoshida parlay sounds good but evans is most likely to let you down

i think sherk and yoshida should have an extra W on there record by the end of 98

i’ve also think you’ve made the right choice with serra…. he has great odds and is definitely going to win against hughes

i have bet big on sherk and serra and i’m not rich so big to me may mean small to others but i’ve got about 1 weeks wage on these 2 fighters and about 3 weeks wages all together on this event

by ufcaddict on May 12, 2009 1:30 PM EDT up reply actions

Pat Barry at -350,Sherk -275,Yoshida -500 ???That doesn’t make any senses…!

by Alpha Male 360 on May 12, 2009 1:34 PM EDT up reply actions

I only bet $150, to win $450; if it doesn’t work out o well; but if it does work out then right the f*k on!

by O damn he got caught on May 12, 2009 1:36 PM EDT up reply actions

UFC Champ – try 888.ca There aren’t a lot of betting sites that will cater to us Canadians but I know this one will but you have to bet in US$. I just signed up for an account but haven’t deposited any money. They have most UFC fights on there…I’m not sure if they give you the option to parlay yet.

by Buster Bluth on May 12, 2009 1:45 PM EDT up reply actions

And I think I’m gonna have to throw down another bet on a Kaplan/Serra/Nover parlay, thats like a 6 to 1 parlay , $100 to win $600+

by O damn he got caught on May 12, 2009 2:42 PM EDT up reply actions

O damn,how much 200,would get me for a Barry/Sherk/Hughes parlay?

by Alpha Male 360 on May 12, 2009 4:14 PM EDT up reply actions

modest bet on Machida and Serra straight!
Big Money (by my betting standards) on Sherk

Parlays involving: sherk, Yoshida, Nover, Berry, Serra

by john on May 12, 2009 4:19 PM EDT up reply actions

ok i cant lie, I bet Machida straight, but snuck Suga shad in on one of my parlays!

by john on May 12, 2009 4:19 PM EDT up reply actions

LOL, I was thinking of doing something similiar John, just to cover the loss’s if it goes down that way.

by O damn he got caught on May 12, 2009 4:34 PM EDT up reply actions

But that does mean you must be at least a little shakey on your boy Machida.

by O damn he got caught on May 12, 2009 5:05 PM EDT up reply actions

Alpha, looks like you’d be betting $100 to win $139.07; not a bad deal considering their all so heavily favoured.

by O damn he got caught on May 12, 2009 5:28 PM EDT up reply actions

not really! I just play the odds a lot and shad has great odds which make him appealing!

Not really worried about Machida losing!

by john on May 12, 2009 5:29 PM EDT up reply actions

Thanks O damn!I never use BetUS.com before…i just went to the site and,it looks like we can’t use it in Canada!

by Alpha Male 360 on May 12, 2009 5:53 PM EDT up reply actions

Am i the only one who really likes Serra both parlay and straight? I bet he’ll be around 210, 220 right before the fight. John- that’s a sick parlay you got goin, i usually never do more than three lines, maybe four if i like it a lot. I would go Serra, Sherk, Roop for value. Backbone it with a straight line on machida, barry or Zenko.

by NameNotRequired on May 12, 2009 5:56 PM EDT up reply actions

fuck me rashad and serra really are gr8 odds! and sherk has gr8 odds aswel!

by Randy for Couture on May 12, 2009 7:02 PM EDT up reply actions

not really man.. sherk and yoshida are the two biggest favorites right now. parlay evans, serra and professor x. thats a $5 bet to win over $300. oh oh ohhhhh.

p.s. mike goldberg is the biggest tool in the world

by snicket916 on May 12, 2009 12:53 PM EDT up reply actions

Wow. Ive never bet on fights before; but, that is tempting. I think Rashad (with the Jackson camp behind him) might be the one to figure out Machida. Something tells me Wolff could pay off too. I think his last performance is still on the minds of the oddsmakers. But he will be looking to clear his name.

by wAyNe on May 12, 2009 10:05 AM EDT up reply actions

shad wont figure out anything without making his crony Jardine fight his opponents first. By round 3 Rashad will be clueless, and getting all pissed off like Tito was!

by john on May 12, 2009 4:20 PM EDT up reply actions

I dont think this fight is going to be close, machida will win evry single round. he should be about at -400 , i see this as a huge mismatch, just like the GSP BJ fight

by dtoto on May 12, 2009 10:40 AM EDT up reply actions

Rashad’s been the underdog in almost every fight; yet he’s undefeated and always comes through; people said the same thing about Chuck and Forrest owning him. I’m not sold on Machida, I think Rashad can win this fight; imo with odds like that throwing down 50-100 bucks on him to win is worth the risk.

by O damn he got caught on May 12, 2009 10:44 AM EDT up reply actions

Machida is rightly the underdog, but Yeah, I’m not counting Rashad out. I put money on Machida a while back and I may put a little more.

Here’s my best attempt to remove emotion and opinion:
Forrest was getting the better of the standup with Rashad before getting KO’d. I think Machida brings a lot more problems than Tito on his feet. Secondly, machida tossed around Tito with his takedown attempts. I think the same will happen with Rashad. Finally, I don’t see Rashad posing a serious KO threat to Machida. He capitalized on a fundamental mistake in Chuck and he has that high-kick KO, but I don’t see that happening to Machida.

I never bet on an underdog unless I’m riding the fence or believe the underdog is actually the favorite. Picking winners has to be the primary concern. I do that first and then let the odds determine how much I’ll put down.

by Punch You in the Ovaries on May 12, 2009 11:00 AM EDT up reply actions

The first time I say “Tito” should read “Forest”

by Punch You in the Ovaries on May 12, 2009 11:52 AM EDT up reply actions

Good post there Punch, when you break it down like that you make a very good case for me keeping my money in my wallet.

by Nick J on May 12, 2009 2:34 PM EDT up reply actions

great post ovaries! AGREED!

Top me Machida is an easy choice!

by john on May 12, 2009 4:21 PM EDT up reply actions

Notice how Kaplan and Roop are both underdogs, lol.

by O damn he got caught on May 12, 2009 10:08 AM EDT reply actions

I saw that. I think I’ll put $10,000 on both of them.

by PW on May 12, 2009 10:10 AM EDT up reply actions

ahaha Ill put everything I have on both of them. I already feel like a winner.

by c-war on May 12, 2009 11:03 AM EDT up reply actions

rashad is the champ and is still considered the underdog? what a joke. i’m betting on evans. pay me beotches.

by lefthook187 on May 12, 2009 11:34 AM EDT reply actions

Anybody know how much a Yoshida – Sherk – Hughes parlay pays out? My work blocks BETUS.com

by WB on May 12, 2009 12:38 PM EDT reply actions

Bet $100 to win $123.14; not bad actually

by O damn he got caught on May 12, 2009 3:43 PM EDT up reply actions

Hey guys, wondering, how do you bet on these things? I wanna lay money on SUGA, but do you need a credit card or pay pal ? And if so how do you get your money after words ( I really wanna bet on this event ). Also can you use pre paid mastercards or no ?

by ItsJustMe on May 12, 2009 1:02 PM EDT reply actions

Go to betus.com and give them a call to set up an account, they can tell you everything you need and answer all those questions. As far as getting paid, whenever I cash out they send me a check in the mail.

by O damn he got caught on May 12, 2009 1:20 PM EDT up reply actions

Evans is undefeated as well. I assumed Machida was going to be favored slightly because he is mysterious. But the betting line makes this look like a mis-match. This line will likely change as the fight draws closer and as a majority of the bets will favor Evans. Bet that Evans will win now and wait to bet that Machida will win.

by Jason on May 12, 2009 1:20 PM EDT reply actions

Evans lost to tito he got the draw because tito got a point deducted for briefly holding the fence. even the refs hate on tito

by truestory on May 12, 2009 3:20 PM EDT up reply actions

He grabbed the fence at least 3 times before losing that point, and continued to grab it after losing the point. Two of those fence grabs prevented Rashad from picking Tito up and slamming him. Tito is lucky that fight ended in a draw instead of a one-sided decision loss or a TKO.

by PW on May 12, 2009 4:13 PM EDT up reply actions

Evans is undefeated!!!

by Jason on May 12, 2009 4:29 PM EDT up reply actions

the judges had tito winning the fight minus the point taken away that was my point

by truestory on May 12, 2009 4:38 PM EDT up reply actions

Would the judges still have had Tito winning the fight had Tito not grabbed the fence to avoid multiple takedowns. Takedowns score point in the eyes of judges.

by Jason on May 12, 2009 5:15 PM EDT up reply actions

good point. I mean fence grabbing happens all the time in practice and in fights its part of the game in my opinion. Anything could have happened if tito would not have grabbed the fence yeah maybe a huge slam followed by tito slappng a triangle choke on evans and winning by submission. See where im going with this? My point was what happened you guys are speculating on what could have happened

by truestory on May 12, 2009 5:31 PM EDT up reply actions

Evans is still officially undefeated. Evans should feel pretty lucky to be undefeated considering he has been on better side of 3 or 4 split decisions.

by jason on May 12, 2009 11:27 PM EDT up reply actions

that’s funny. i think roop is -150. nothing on larson/wilson yet and it’s driving me crazy. The one I want most isn’t available.

by naturalist on May 12, 2009 1:25 PM EDT reply actions

Thanks O damn, much appricated.

by ItsJustMe on May 12, 2009 1:55 PM EDT reply actions

I just ran the numbers thru a parlay calculator, a $100 parlay of Evans to Serra would pay out at $700. That’s very tempting.

by kg on May 12, 2009 2:45 PM EDT reply actions

I don’t know about Serra but Evans with out a doubt what would a 100 on Evans/Hughes and Sherk equal?

by Puck Head on May 12, 2009 3:36 PM EDT up reply actions

3 fight parlay Evans (+175) to Hughes (-275) to Sherk (-275) risk $100 to win $411.36

by kg on May 12, 2009 5:00 PM EDT up reply actions

Thanks kg

by Puck Head on May 12, 2009 7:08 PM EDT up reply actions

Check this out……5 fight parlay Evans (175) to Serra (190) to Edgar (190) to Bradley (250) to Wolff (+300) risk $100 to win $32,278. On one hand, there’s no way in hell that’s going to come in……On the other hand, I recall many times i’ve spent $100 on something worse………

by kg on May 12, 2009 5:05 PM EDT reply actions

sh!t I’ve spent well over $100 on one night at the bar, complete waste of money; imo thats a better idea than playing the lotto or buying scratch tickets.

by O damn he got caught on May 12, 2009 6:08 PM EDT up reply actions

gotta love the odds on serra, also an undefeated champion on odds of +175 u will NEVER see that again!! Get on them both!!
