I like Matt Brown, but he’s not the most exciting interview..

He’s not getting by AJ either, should be a great fight, but he’s going to try and trade with Rumble and I see Johnson getting the KO/TKO.

I dont know who is going to win that fight. Each look better and better with each performance and I dont know who will be the better man come fight night.
Sorry to inform you guys, BUt “THE CROW” has also been cut by the UFC!

John-
Not a surprise. He has not been the same after the Franklin fight. Too bad.
by OJR on May 5, 2009 10:17 AM EDT up reply actions
I agree. I havent enjoyed his fights since the Franklin fight. I just figured I would post it because the Crow has a tons of fans on this site!

Rumble’s got to be the big favourite but after Brown’s performance against Kim he proved me wrong, I was expecting him to get smashed, and since then I’ve enjoyed watching Brown fight. I think this will be FOTN and I also don’t see it going the distance.
No suprise about the Crow being cut, Herman dominated that fight and aside from an early spinning liver kick, he had nothing. It’s unfortunate but Loiseau doesn’t look the same fighter he once was and I don’t see him getting another shot in the UFC. Big win for Herman though, it could be the victory he needed to get a solid run going.

Im going to simplify the Crow situation. Franklin BROKE him Mentally, and he will NEVER recover! plain and simple!
by john on May 5, 2009 10:57 AM EDT up reply actions
Hate to say it but i think that is spot on. I was a huge Crow fan leading up to the Franklin fight i really thought he was going to win the belt. Since then he never been the same. Oh well another of my old favourites looking to be finnished.
by Eagzy on May 5, 2009 11:16 AM EDT up reply actions
I also have to add that he looked like he was mentally broken going in to that fight, he was running in the 1st round before Franklin even put his hands on him, he was scared…
AJ for the KO in this fight i hope!
by RoB on May 5, 2009 12:01 PM EDT up reply actions
So john, by that logic I guess you’re betting on Florian.
I think the Crow’s demise being a result of one fight with Frankiln is simplistic at best. He didn’t train hard enough to compete with elite fighters, he had no ground game, and he had motivational issues long before the Franklin fight.
by Jeremyjackson on May 5, 2009 2:48 PM EDT up reply actions
I’ll have to agreed with that! The Crow, should have start working a little bit harder on his subs skills, right after the Jeremy Horn lost!

BJ Penn is a LUNATIC that I dont feel is capable of being Broken Mentally! Seriously, do you really think Penn has lost confidence in himself? I sure as hell dont!
R u really going to sit here and tell me that THe Crow has been the same since the Franklin fight?
by john on May 5, 2009 3:11 PM EDT up reply actions
I’m saying that his problems were evident before that fight, and that it is a convenient oversimplification to suggest otherwise.
by Jeremyjackson on May 5, 2009 3:13 PM EDT up reply actions
Penn’s not the lunatic he wants everyone to think he is. When the fight’s going his way, he’s a beast. When it’s not, he breaks mentally.
“Lunatics” don’t have their mommy fight their battles for them or blame their own shortcomings on phantom cheating allegations.
Penn is tough as hell, no doubt, but he’s also a spoiled little bedwetter with serious insecurities.
by Jeremyjackson on May 5, 2009 3:17 PM EDT up reply actions
yes, Penn never comes back to win when things aren’t going his way.. He can also be physically broken in fights, which i think would be the case if he ever fought Diego.. I thought Diego would beat BJ with ease at WW and i’m not going to change my mind if they fight at LW… best possible scenario for Diego is if it would a 5 round fight..
by RoB on May 5, 2009 3:37 PM EDT up reply actions
That’s what, will happen RoB.Bj,only arsenal standing up is his jab!Diego do improve his stand up game every day, while BJ stay the exact same! Also Diego his fast on the ground and he’s more, than capable to withstand BJ jits. Now we all know what BJ’s cardio look like,in the 4 and 5 round when he face opponents that push the pace of the fight…!I too think that Diego, would have beating BJ at WW and he’s more, than capable to do it at LW also!

Prior to the GSP fight, NONE of you guys would be talking about Penn this way! FACT!!!!!! He loses to the greatest welterweight ever and now he is an average Lightweight? HAHAHAHAHA! Sorry to inform you guys, but Ken-flo is not GSP!!! Not even close!
by john on May 5, 2009 7:18 PM EDT up reply actions
I think Penn will beat Kenflo if he finishes him before the championship rounds. I think Penn is the best LW in the world.
My point was that Penn is a little bitch and he sure seemed mentally broken after the GSP fight.
by Jeremyjackson on May 5, 2009 7:22 PM EDT up reply actions
I knew what i just said before the GSP fight, FACT!!!!!
I did predict how the GSP fight would end and in what round, yes i did… BJ’s weaknesses have been obvious for years, but the Media/UFC tried to blow it all up like he was this new athlete and a completely new person when he moved to LW which he isn’t, he’s just competing against smaller guys and dropping that weight means that he has to train harder… all that aside he’s still the same guy!
by RoB on May 5, 2009 10:34 PM EDT up reply actions
Do i think BJ is an average LW? no absolutely not, he just isn’t 1 #
by RoB on May 5, 2009 10:36 PM EDT up reply actions
I agree that Penn was broken mentally and physically by GSP. I also think that if they fought 10 more times, GSP wins 10 more times. He is just a better fighter. That being said, there is no one at lw that is close to a GSP.

DO NOT SLEEP!! THIS WILL NOT BE AN EASY FIGHT FOR EITHER FIGHTER. I am really looking forward to Brown-Johnson. It has the potential to be a really great match.
. . . not every fighter is equipped with charm and charisma, it’s ok.

Yawn…… Rumble 2nd round tko. He will be way too fast, and is the superior striker. Isn’t browns record near .500 or something? This will be the toughest test for aj yet, even though tha isn’t saying much. After this fight I want to see rumble vs one of those aka boys. Kosh/swick/fitch
by mr guillotine on May 5, 2009 10:41 AM EDT reply actions
Brown’s improved a lot, his stint on TUF has done wonders for him. His record isn’t great but that’s misleading as he’s proven in his last few fights that he’s a much more well rounded fighter. I still think Rumble will win but Brown is no joke. I’d like to see the winner of this fight face the Davis/Hardy winner.
by David W-S on May 5, 2009 11:10 AM EDT up reply actions
Brown’s skills are average. Pete Sell made him look like Bruce Lee, but AJ is a different story.
I’m still not convinced that AJ will be a top 5 welterweight, but man, the physical tools and potential are certainly there.
by Jeremyjackson on May 5, 2009 2:58 PM EDT up reply actions
You fools, Matt Brown will beat Rumble – count on it. All you Rumble fanboys are riding his wagon simply cos of his KO victories against D-list fighters. Hell, it took him 2 and a half rounds to finish Kevin fucking Burns who even I could KO quicker. Matt Brown won my respect on TUF and this dude has a Mark Hunt-like chin, so even if Rumble is connecting with those powershots they will leave Brown unfazed. Brown via UD – I’ll be betting on it.

Thats a pretty hard fight to call.Johnsons athleticism makes him dangerous to anyone but Matt Browns a scrappy hard hittin M-F-ER!!I could see an upset happening. But either way its definantly gonna be fire works when these 2 collide. No ones coming out injury free, ill bet my money on that.

Brown takes this fight against Rumble. He skills are sick, and his determination/will is a lot stronger that Rumble. Love watching this guy fight, he is an animal.
