So irritating when they keep advertising a fighter that won’t be on the card. Their commercials are still running a promo with Babalu on it, or did I miss something??

by O damn he got caught on May 4, 2009 3:50 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

yeah i babs got scrtatched~ its just the old poster~ thats all.

by stinky~fingers on May 4, 2009 4:01 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Yea I know but you seen any of the commercials, Babalu is still being advertised as fighting! Maybe they don’t want to scrap all the money they threw into the advertisement I guess.

lol~ trick advertisement.

i wish babs was still on the card

still pretty good though he didnt make or break the card.

but it would have been nice.

I was just reading a an article that says Hackleman (chuck’s trainer) says that Chuck still has 1 fight left on his UFC contract and that him and chuck believe that Chuck has more then 1 fight left in him. He even hinted that Chuck would explore fighting in other organizations if Dana is adament about not letting him fight in the UFC again.

Chuck leaving UFC = sAD!!! Lets hope for the best!

Dude that beat Fedor in the sambo championship is fighting Fujita at Sengoku

by john on May 4, 2009 4:37 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

dana will just take them to court~ lol

by stinky~fingers on May 4, 2009 4:38 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Not happening; thats why he still has 1 fight left on his contract so Dana can tie him up in court if he tries to continue fighting. I like Dana White, I don’t disagree with his decision, but the way he went about it… total dick move Dana…

by O damn he got caught on May 4, 2009 4:39 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

If anybody needs to retire it’s Hackleman. His weak-ass never-adapting training regimen is one of the biggest reasons Chuck couldn’t stay on top.

“Yeah, Chuck that’s it… keep your hands down around your waist, step back and throw an overhand right… nobody will ever figure out a way to stop that… oooh perfect, now let’s practice that lead left hook to the body again…”

by Jeremyjackson on May 4, 2009 4:39 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

looks like the last post got hung up for a sec, so I’ll just say; agree with Stinky.

by O damn he got caught on May 4, 2009 4:41 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

thats what I thought, but then I realized Chuck has no Belt, this championship clause doesnt apply to him. Dana either has to give chuck his last fight on his contract if thats what Chuck really wants or cut him, which in that case NO DOUBT chuck goes to fight for someone else!

by john on May 4, 2009 4:41 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I didn’t even think about that John, good point, but when Dana said Chuck’s done he did it with some finality; it sounded like his contract has him locked into the UFC for good. I’m thinking Chuck trusted him; got big, when Dana threw out the big money contract with Chuck he just started signin sh!t and similiar to the “video game” signing away of their likeness’s, maybe Chuck’s signed his marketability or likeness away to the UFC. Maybe legally Chuck Liddell can only be synonymous with the UFC. I know thats far out there; but just my “conspiracy” theory on it. Either way though, I think the UFC could find a way to tie him up long enough to where he’s too old to fight.

by O damn he got caught on May 4, 2009 4:52 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

i dont see dana being like that to chuck anyways~

and i also dont see the iceman fleeing to another org.

i think if chuck really wants another fight? dana will give it to him..

it might take some talk~ but i truely think these two r friends.

i would be blown away if chuck actually fought outside the ufc.

hack is just a goof~ i never liked him..

by stinky~fingers on May 4, 2009 4:52 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

It’s a bad situation, Chuck is too big name to be fighting chumps; but it doesn’t seem like he can hang with top comp anymore. So what do you do with the guy? They put him against a top guy and everyone’s going to be talking about how he’s gonna get killed; they put him up against a can and everyone knocks him for fighting a can. It’s lose/lose at this point imo. More power to Chuck though, as long as he doesn’t get all senile like Ken Shamrock I say let him do what he loves to do.

by O damn he got caught on May 4, 2009 4:58 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

true o damn~

i agree except~

i could think of one fight that fans would let pass regarding a lose/lose.

possibily a jardine rematch?

i wouldnt mind~ what say u?

by stinky~fingers on May 4, 2009 5:05 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Guess he could go over to Strike Force and roll Tito and Randleman for old time sake.

by O damn he got caught on May 4, 2009 5:13 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

my last post got caught up in mod~

but in short i was saying that~

a good fight for chuck would be a jardine rematch.

i dont think the fans would flame that?

by stinky~fingers on May 4, 2009 5:31 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Not really fair to Jardine, but they never are with him. Chuck would take the fight in a heart beat but I have a feeling Keith would turn it down; no upside. Don’t think anyone would be flaming the match up, just Jardine after he refuses to fight Chuck.

by O damn he got caught on May 4, 2009 5:50 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

You know.. what makes sense to me is Brandon Vera, if he’s gonna fight in the UFC. He’s a legit name and Chuck could take him on without the bad press; and he’s not looked all that great lately either so I’d give Chuck a really good chance in that fight.

by O damn he got caught on May 4, 2009 5:59 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

ODamn: Thats the best Idea I heard yet for chuck. Put it on a card with a MONSTER main event, and it could pass for a co-main event.

Or let the fight happen in England. UFC is always stiffing the UK fans out of star power. I am sure they would still appreciate chuck as a headliner!

Hopefully this won’t be like last card which had fighters dropping like flies – or at least it seamed that way.

As for the event, unfortunately, I see Robbie Lawler getting the KO over Shields – I do not think he is going to be able to take Robbie down, and it will only be a matter of time before he gets clubbed.

Diaz vs Smith. I STILL can’t believe that this is real. Strikeforce is really giving Nick some EXCITING matchups. It is going to be difficult for Nick to KO Smith seeing that Benji threw everything including the kitchen sink at him and Smith kept fighting back. BUT, Nick is very likely to win a decision if the fight stays standing for 3 rounds because he is the much more accurate striker and he has the reach (and just importantly, knows how to use his reach). If Nick does get Smith to the ground, Scott will tap so quick that his little kids won’t even know happened to thier daddy. Kids that age should NOT be brought to an event to watch thier dad fight live. Can you imagine of he gets layed out like Ricky Hatton while his lil kid is sitting ring side.

AWESOME CARD. I only hope it holds up.

did you guys hear what some other sites are doing?

They are rallying people to bust out into chants of FEDOR! FEDOR! FEDOR! At UFC 100!

If I start hearing the crowd screaming for Fedor loud as hell over Rogan and Goldy’s voice while watching the UFC 100 Broadcast, I will go CRAZY!!!!! HOw cool will that be?

by john on May 4, 2009 4:29 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

it wont happen~ well not loud enough to hear..

this plan might work out better for ufc 99~

not in vegas~

by stinky~fingers on May 4, 2009 4:35 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

UFC 100 is an awesome card; with GSP, Brock Lesnar, Alves, Mir, Hendo, Bisping; there’s just no way. They shoulda tried making that happen at UFC 98. Though I would love to see a mug shot on Dana’s face if the crowd burst into a Fedor chant.

by O damn he got caught on May 4, 2009 4:36 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

For you ,I am sure you will get some enjoyment out of it,but in the big picture ,I think in a way it is sort of disrespectful to the occasion of UFC 100,do not take this wrong, I won’t him in UFC as much as anybody, but in your defense, it would prove to Lorenzo that everybody does know who Fedor is ,and what he would bring to the UFC

by scott on May 4, 2009 4:36 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

LIke Odamn said: I just want a close up of Dana’s face…PRICELESS!!!

I dont think its disrespectful to the UFC. Fans pay a lot of money to the UFC to see it LIVE and to faithfully order all their ppv’s which arent cheap these days. Dana and Lorenzo OWE it to the UFC to spend EVERDAY of the rest of their damn lives trying to get us the fighters we want to see……and Fedor has to be at the top of everyone’s list!

by john on May 4, 2009 4:40 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

90% of the Vegas drunks at UFC cards have never heard of Fedor… they’d probably think the arena’s packed with Star Wars fans.

by Jeremyjackson on May 4, 2009 4:42 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

do u think if it did happen?~ that dana would put that part in his blog?

hahha hat would be priceless~

to see him sitting watching the fights with lorenzo and

all of a sudden his face drops as the crowd chants fedor..

funny~ but i dont think it would happen~

and i do think its disrespectful to do so at a live ufc..

by stinky~fingers on May 4, 2009 4:46 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

LOL at JJ. Vader vader vader…. or big Ryan Bader fans

by James S on May 4, 2009 4:54 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Yea but Drunks are open to suggestion you start yellin out a chant and half those f*ckers don’t care what it is they’ll yell right along with u.

by O damn he got caught on May 4, 2009 4:55 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I am not saying it would be disrespectful at any UFC event just 100,second you know that his management team is a little rediculous with the demand for an entire stadium, there way of saying ,he is never coming to the UFC,so it is not all UFC fault.I personally do not want them to give him a one fight deal either,he comes in wins then leaves ,then we have to wait forever again for to fight in UFC for the second,it is not right to the other fighters in UFC ,it is not right to the fans of UFC.If he fights for his fans ,then why make it impossible for them to see you in UFC.They travel the world,he would be able to fight all over Europe, you know if they signed Fedor ,they would do a show in Russia.

by scott on May 4, 2009 5:02 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

There’s 2 sides to that argument, in Fedor’s defense the no compete clause in the contract ristricting him from doing Sambo match’s is pretty ridiculous.

by O damn he got caught on May 4, 2009 5:06 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

But the one business benefit in giving Fedor what ever he wants ,besides the stadium. All the markets that are giving UFC a hard time to break into ,would open up like Tito’s old lady

by scott on May 4, 2009 5:07 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Yea I don’t know whats up with the whole stadium thing, and there’s no way bringing a fighter on board merits making Fedor’s manager any kind of partner with the UFC. But knowing Dana, he was probably like here’s the contract; money is somewhat negotiable, nothing else is; period.

by O damn he got caught on May 4, 2009 5:11 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

lmao at~

“All the markets that are giving UFC a hard time to break into ,would open up like Tito’s old lady”

by stinky~fingers on May 4, 2009 5:11 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I can see where Dana comes from on that, you have this money invested in this guy then goes and gets seriously hurt doing something else.On that issue though,I believe they should give in,if this is for the fans ,like Dana claims then he should make it happen, but have a clause in his contract, that make it where he gets less money or fined if he cannot compete in an UFC event due to an injury he sustained in a Sambo tournament, not if he is injured in training

by scott on May 4, 2009 5:11 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

im thinking i agree with scott on this one~

i want to see fedor in the ufc just like everyone else~ but

i dont want to see just one fight!.. hold down the championship..

make a name for yourself in the states!

go down as number one..

by stinky~fingers on May 4, 2009 5:13 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Well the complaint about the Sambo is bs, if thats what the real hang up is; cause he could just as easily get hurt in the gym. Whats the diff if he gets hurt in a Sambo match or gets hurt in a gym? Besides, look at his history; Fedor’s only problem seems to be breaking his hand on peoples faces.

by O damn he got caught on May 4, 2009 5:16 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

yeah it is,but the way to cover that angle is to fine him if he cannot compete due to an injury that he recieved in a Sambo tournament, not if he gets injured in the gym. That way Fedor still gets to compete, and Dana gets what he wants

by scott on May 4, 2009 5:36 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I also think one of the reason they do not throw whatever amount of money in the world at Fedor is because of what happened to Cro Cop,they gave him a huge contract ,built him up,and ended up 1-2 in the UFC.That has to be burned into Dana’s mind,he does not want to build someone else up to be the greatest HW ever to step into the octagon, then he loses.

by scott on May 4, 2009 5:43 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Yea I hear that; probably isn’t willing to pay the man what he wants to be paid.

by O damn he got caught on May 4, 2009 5:52 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Thats it in the end anyway, the whole stadium/sambo argument is complete BS imo, they just can’t agree on the contract $$$ amount. No disrespect to Fedor, but his manager does sound like he’s out for himself and not the fighters.

by O damn he got caught on May 4, 2009 5:57 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

they sound pretty retarded,I mean listen to the dumb demands ,and people act like Dana is not trying to get him,I mean how do you even respond to those type of demands, part ownership, all the red devil fighters,a stadium. The facts are all out there, how can anyone even question Dana on this one.Fedor is good, but I would have told his manager to suck my d#ck and get out of my face

by scott on May 4, 2009 6:18 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I dont even know if I believe the whole stadium thing. If Dana actually believes its true, sometrhing was probably lost in translation. Affliction didnt have to build Fedor a stadium to get him to fight WorldClass Heavyweights…All it took was Millions in salary, the rights to his own fight footage in Europe, and leaving the man alone to pursue whatever else he wants in life instead of becoming Dana’s MMA Slave!

by john on May 4, 2009 7:38 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Affliction also co promoted with M1, which is one of the things Dana said they wanted

by scott on May 4, 2009 9:50 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

would it have really hurt Dana to promote with M-1? I mean come on? M-1 is nothing….at best they are still a Decade away from competing with the UFC.

Only a handful of people on this site, filled with diehard fans could name 5 M-1 fighters.

I get why Dana doesnt want to promote with orgs like Affliction or SAtrikeforce, but Promoting with M-1 wouldnt Harm the UFC at all!

this card blows the next 2 ufc cards out of the water. lawler-shileds is a total style vs style match and im pretty sure lawler will get an exciting ko victory, feijao is the real deal and hell run through jared hamman like butter, allistiar im a big fan of and hes finally fighting in america, riggs-baroni should be a war, and finally the fight im most excited for cyborg vs smokin joe. ill take joey by late ko as im a big fan and think this fight has a possibility for fight of the night.

each fight is stacked unlike the next 2 ufc cards

Not a bad card really. Some very good fights on there. If Babalu hadn’t fallen out it’d be stacked as most UFC major events. Props to Strikeforce for a good card

Yeah I thought Babalu was off the card because his wife is having a kid? If he is back on it, the card is sick. Awesome fighters and it easily rivals most UFC cards (especially UFC 98, what a dud)

Sobral is not going to be fighting at the June 6th event, and I was real disappointed when I heard that. I was really lookin forward to seein him fight, plus that fight with Cavalcante was gonna be great.

Overeem vs Rogers is more than likely what’s gonna happen, and that’ll be a good fight. But, there’s rumors that Overeem may be fighting Fedor in Japan here fairly soon, and if that fight happens, he more than likely wont fight on the June 6th card, which would blow.

I got some cageside seats and I’m just hoping for some good fights here… and to be seated next to Gina Carano. Is that too much to ask?

Here’s the thing about Cote… He lost his first 4 fights in the UFC in a row! Enough said.

Don’t try to disagree before you go to ufc.com to verify. Apparently there is a substantial number of people who disagree with this undeniable fact that takes about 1 minute to verify. There’s too many retards out there who are clutching his dicksack so tight that they can’t extend their arms to the keyboard to prove me wrong. They simply say "He didn’t lose 4 in a row!" YES HE DID!

Do you guys think at this day and age Sobral could take out Chuck? I still say not a chance in hell…

I personally think Sobral is better right now than when he fought Chuck, and Chuck is obviously not the same. Shogun took Chuck down. Sobral would take Chuck down. Game over.

babalu also has a win over shogun….soo if they fought today i would def. say that babalu’s chances are better but liddell still has a punchers chance …..

that was a long time ago,and shogun would kill Babalu now

maybe but at the end of the day he made shogun tap, i highly doubt shogun would kill babalu…..and we never know what shogun is going to show up … coleman shogun or liddell shogun…..

This looks decent – does anyone know how much a Strikeforce PPV is? It isn’t showing up on the satellite information (as of yet)
