... that he would help prepare former two-time foe, Rich Franklin, for his upcoming fight against his old Chute Boxe training partner, Wanderlei Silva, at UFC 99: "The Comeback" on June 13, according to Tatame.com:
"He didn’t said any word to me about it, but he’s gonna face a Brazilian, so it’s hard that something will happen. I don’t have anything against Franklin either Wanderlei, both are great fighters. In other situation, I’d train with him, for sure. My gym is open for everyone. Whoever goes there can have classes and I won’t have any problems if he decides to go there, that’s the sports’ globalization."
That was fast. It's not an outright denial, but his way of answering the question is interesting. Either the "Spider" is playing dumb to try and distance himself from training an American for a fight against a popular Brazilian fighter, performing damage control so his feud with the "Axe Murder" doesn't hit Defcon 1 or there really are no concrete plans for "Ace" to enlist his services. The plot thickens ... you decide.

I doubt you will find this news anywhere on the internet yet, but my buddy from Vegas that trains at extreme couture just called me to tell me that Andersdon will fight Forrest Griffin at UFC 101 in Philadelphia!
THiago Silva is not HURT! Instead the UFC have simply decided to switch Griffins opponent and that is why he has been preparing to face a southpaw over the past week at Xtreme Couture.
This news comes from the smae guy at extreme Couture that told me that Couture was fighting Brock weeks before the fight was EVER announced on any internet site, so I honestly believe this guy!
Lets hope I am right once again!

Like I said, this came from the same guy that Leaked the Couture/Brock fight to me at least 10 days before any site on the internet knew about it….so IMO, this is true…..Hopefully I am right once again!

…what the F do you want? I didnt say it was true, I said it was a rumor I heard via text….that I am praying turns out to be true and it happens to come from a friend that I found to be very reliable.
I appreciate a good rumor as much as a good fight announcement when it comes to blogging, so I passed it along. NO need to flame me for it!

I actually text my good friend and fellow blogger PhilQny to tell him about this rumor since he is one of the guys who is coming on our UFC 101 trip and apparently he already knew about this. He said he texted me about this last thuirsday, but I never got it. In the end I dont give 2 craps about who gets credit for what news…I just want it to be true! is that too much to ask? Damn! In the end, I obviously heard about it from somebody else…its not like I have Dana white’s office bugged!

Geez, that sounds like a BJ Penn strategy. If you win, “I’m the king”, if you lose its “it wasn’t my weight class.”
I think any fighter should STFU, if they accept a fight, accept the result no matter what. Don’t have fabricated safety blanket excuses already prepared.
On that note, lets hope Silva fights Griffin and actually gets challenged so we can see a good fight.

yo John, the only way i see this happening is if Thiago is hurt. why else would they set the bad precedent of screwing over Thiago? i don’t know man, something smells fishy about it.
that said, if Thiago is in fact hurt, this could be a great fight. i’ve said it since the Cote fight: Anderson will lose in 2009. i figured it’d be Maia, but you never know.

the last thing I want to do is getting someone’s hopes up. I have to admit it sounds fishy especially when you consider the fact that bout agreements have been signed alreday for the Forrest/THiago fight….The only reason, I passed this not easy to believe rumor along is because of who told me it….all I know for certain is that the guy trains at extreme couture and I found him to be reliable in the past when it comes to extreme Couture related news.
When he told me about the Brock/Couture match up, he said that Randy was in talks to bring in all these Huge, strong wrestlers to mimick Brock.
When he text me about this fight, he also told me that for the past couple of days Forrest has switched his training and is preparing for a south paw…..Is THiago a southpaw?
THats is EVERYTHING I know….Im not holding anything back…right now I am taking this as a rumor I pray ends up being true!

I think fans are inventing stories to build hype. It’s interesting that fighters are often the last people to hear the news reports concerning their careers.
MMAJunkie did report that Franklin’s camp offered no comment. Expect Wanderlei respond base off this misinformation. I guess the coming months will be entertaining.

Seriously though, if the rumors are true fighting Forrest will lead to other more interesting fights. Although Forrest only has a slight chance of winning he will fight and won’t give up. If true this could lead to more interesting fights in the future. We can only pray.
