Yeah, the evolution of UFC is like this: Dana the Greedy Bitch Turns Into a White Don King.

Questions?

GROUNDBREAKING MMA NEWS***

The RETURN of ANDY WANG!!!!!

Andy Wang vs. Kit Cope, may 30th!

Talk about your Mega Fights! lol

by john on Apr 26, 2009 5:39 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I would like to talk about a few betting locks of the summer!

The locks I am going to identify are undercard fights that wont get too much publicity:

I love:
Gleison Tibau over Melvin guillard
Yoshida over Wolff (the guy Saunders made look like an alien)
Paul Kelly pounding the FOCK out of Roli Delgado
Etim over Buckholtz
Paul Taylor over Sabotta
Chris Lytle over Kevin Burns!

Bigger Profile locks:
Fejao over Haann
Jacre over Mayhem

not one of these bets are going to lose! guaranteed winners…dont ever say I dont hook you guys up! lol

anyone got any fights they view as Locks?

by john on Apr 26, 2009 5:54 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

irvin against mcfederies!!!

by Jared on Apr 26, 2009 6:32 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

John Hathaway against Rick Story. I will be betting muchos on Hathaway

by nick on Apr 26, 2009 7:09 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Fedor over Aoki.

by Jeremyjackson on Apr 26, 2009 7:10 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

jared how is that a lock? both have heavy heavy hands… im an irvin fan but he can surely lose that fight..

a lock this summer is forrest over thiago silva

by randy murders on Apr 26, 2009 7:33 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Forrest over Thiago? I doubt that’s a lock. A lock on paper I should say…

by Syd[a.k.a. "The Negation"] on Apr 26, 2009 9:25 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Wang over Cope unless he wants to be cool and “bang” with him. Thiago is gonna stomp all over forrest. Here is the breakdown on paper- Power, striking, BJJ go to T; Cardio, size, possibly wrestling go to forrest. Chin is suspect on both but forrest “can’t bust a grape.” Sure doesn’t sound like a lock to me.

by NameNotRequired on Apr 26, 2009 10:50 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

a lock is Diego over Guida.. and Mcfedries is a better striker than Irvin so i say Mcfedries, but it ain’t a lock!
seriously now – Franklin/Velasquez on UFC 99 are two locks!
Bonnar/Jones are locks on UFC 100 and Kenny Florian is almost a lock too, if you would only see it as i do!

by RoB on Apr 26, 2009 10:50 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

wait so forrest has a suspect chin but rampage couldn’t put him away, neither could shogun? he’s been stopped what twice?..

thiago silva got tooled by a guy in machida who doesn’t strike for power he strikes for points and he lost because he was tired after 1 round and forrest will wear him down and finish him.. jump off the thiago silva hype wagon it was made to hype machida more going into his title shot..

by randy murders on Apr 27, 2009 2:28 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I ain’t gettin’ off the thiago Silva war tank. I believed in that guy since day one. Cool attitude. Though lynx[who’s Brazilian] says he’s a poser, in that he’s tryin’ to be “ghetto” or somethin’. But IMO, it’s the attitude that counts. Yes he looked real sloppy in his last fight, but I’m cuttin’ him some slack. He’s like Banha, who’s like the Terminator and just keeps pushing forward. Hope they do battle in the octagon soon!

by Syd[a.k.a."The Negation"] on Apr 27, 2009 5:29 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

stinkys~locks.
--
ufc/98~ sherk over edgar
--
ufc/99~ caol uno over fisher

herring over cain and saunders over swick
--
tuf/finale~ rumble over brown.
--
ufc/100~ frank mir is a lock over brockness.

yoshi over belcher ~ bonnar over the rusty hammer and
--

thats the next 3 ufc’s plus the tuf finale~ those r locks imo.
stun gunn over goulet!

by stinky~fingers on Apr 27, 2009 7:06 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Hope for you that your not putting too much money on your locks, cause you risk to be desapointed.

by Alpha Male 360 on Apr 27, 2009 8:04 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

after reading all you guys suggestions (some had good ones)…the fights that you guys mentioned as locks that I agree with are:

John Hathaway over Rick Story
Stun Gun over Goulet
Sherk over Edgar
Diego over Huggie Bear

I would NOrmally say that Akiyama is a lock over Belcher, but I vowed to NEVER again bet a fighter thats making his UFC debut. It takes a few fights for fighters used to fighting in a small ring, under japanese rules to get acclimated with the UFC Octagon, Rules and Atmosphere. Akiyama is light years ahead of Belcher in skills, but I dont know if Akiyama can fight to the best of his abilities in his UFC debut, so I dont view it as a lock.

FYI: Brock is going to beat the snot out of mir!

yeah but if dana wasn’t the way he is the now then we probably been wont be even talking about ufc 100 or even commenting on this site.

I have a question; what makes him like Don King?

by Tom on Apr 26, 2009 1:51 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

absoulutly nathen! don king is a complete scumbagger..

dana white is a top reason why mma is on the map~

by stinky~fingers on Apr 26, 2009 2:17 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Exactly, Dana’s the fuckin’ man!

by Tom on Apr 26, 2009 3:30 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

lets jerk Dana White off. I know Bill Gates or the guys from Nintendo wish he got this much luck after saving their markets in economic crisis.

by Bill Maher on Apr 26, 2009 4:55 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I would not go that for ,but you have to give credit when credit is due,and if it was not for him there would not be UFC today, which also means that MMA would not get any attention in America

by scott on Apr 26, 2009 5:05 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

give it up scott, if he didn’t have two rich mafioso friends from his childhood then they wouldn’t be the ppl controlling the UFC, a major MMA organization was meant to be, and one single person shouldn’t get that much cred.. the reason for all the cred Dana gets is because most ppl don’t even know about the other guys cause they don’t see their face in the camera all the time!

by RoB on Apr 26, 2009 10:56 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

say whatever you want about Don King but he has made great money for the fighters, and that is what it’s all about money!..

by RoB on Apr 26, 2009 10:58 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

if dana white wasn’t around we’d be watching all of these fighters in PRIDE F/C. it would probably be better because the rules were better imo. the ufc actually looks a little watered down compared to pride.

by Buttcrack Obama bin Laden on Apr 27, 2009 12:05 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

If it was all about money I would be on the financial times website or investing on e*trade. It’s about the fights, the spectacle, the excitement, the sport and the people involved. Maybe I’m a sucker but I believe Dana has a passion for this sport that goes past money. Don King just a crook that has bled boxing dry.

by PanicZoo on Apr 27, 2009 12:15 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Well boxing’s still wet as far as I know. can’t wait for the Pacman-Hitman East meets West Blowdown this comin’ weekend! If Pacman wins this one, I’m sure it’ll be a bloody war, not some cakewalk like durin’ his past couple of fights. Though I honestly didn’t predict a Dela-Hoya beatdown back then.

A bit off topic…does anyone know when UFC 101 tickets go on sale?

by ja434650 on Apr 26, 2009 1:12 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

no clue but i cant wait for them to announce this event, because im in the same boat you are just waiting for tickets to go on sale but the card looks decent so far is the rumors bouts come true.

by matt on Apr 26, 2009 2:46 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

My experience is that they won’t put them up until 98 is in the books.

by Jrandolph on Apr 26, 2009 11:56 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Does anyone know who that fat guy is who’s stomping on the guys head? Its just after Randy is talking about the evolution of the sport?
Cheers.

ufc 100 is nothing special. it’s not the 100th ufc event. it’s not the 100th televised ufc event. it’s not the 100th ppv. it’s not even the 100th numbered ufc event, it’s the 101st.

by jj on Apr 26, 2009 2:03 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

i understand its not the 100th ufc event cause all the ufn’s and tuf finals.

i know its not the 100th ppv cause there was-

ufc japan, brazil and ultimate ultimate 1 and 2..

[making it 102 ufc ppv’s] cause there was 2 numbered ufc events free on tv.

~but how is it the 101st numbered event?? i dont get it?

nonethe less~ this card is going to be off the hook!

by stinky~fingers on Apr 26, 2009 2:23 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

someones a negative nancy…

by Kibs on Apr 26, 2009 2:29 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I just hate all this media attention for a lie.

by jj on Apr 26, 2009 2:36 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

It’s a milestone nonetheless… and it should be treated as such

by Danza Macabra on Apr 26, 2009 4:26 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

yeah….God when UFC puts on a great event. That makes me so angry!!!! relax man

by TheLastProdigiousRushingAxeMurderingEmperor on Apr 26, 2009 4:26 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

who said I was angry about the event? is this blog post about the awesomeness of the fight card or is about the historical relevance of ufc 100? did I at all complain about the fights? or did I keep things on topic and point out my displeasure with the attention this event is receiving as being a milestone?

by jj on Apr 26, 2009 4:32 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

no matter what ,it is still a big deal,it does not matter if it is 101 or 102,it is all about the fact that nobody gave it a chance, and MMA has faced constant scrunity, still to this day,yet UFC has survived and florished

by scott on Apr 26, 2009 4:58 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

and why does it make you so angry that this event is getting so much media coverage, damn you must have loved it back in the day when they could barely even get on ppv or you had to wait for it to come out on vhs

by scott on Apr 26, 2009 5:02 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

why are you even here reading all the media coverage.

by scott on Apr 26, 2009 5:02 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

well JJ…the historical relevance and “awesomeness” of the card kind of go hand in hand. Think about it jackass. and like scott said…if you hate all the press coverage for what you perceive as this massive lie, then don’t read the press coverage. jesus. And to your point about not complaning about the event…yeah you did, saying a little further up in the thread that it isn’t that great a card.

by TheLastProdigiousRushingAxeMurderingEmperor on Apr 26, 2009 8:20 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

JJ rest easy. It’s a nominal thing. The big one-zero-zero represents 100 and is something to celebrate. Screw technicalities.

by Johnny Farnham on Apr 26, 2009 11:10 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

jj, it is 100, because ufc 37.5 was exactly that, 37.5. it came between 37 and 38. so this will be ufc 100. their not saying it is the 100th show or ppv. they are saying that is the name of the show. wtf, why are we even entertainig your bs argument, goodbye.

by Buttcrack Obama bin Laden on Apr 27, 2009 12:16 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Calm down

by Alpha Male 360 on Apr 27, 2009 8:06 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Yeah, and I have family that won’t celebrate Christmas because “there’s no way to know for sure when the birth of Christ really happened”, and while we’re all getting fat off turkey and pie, opening presents and generally having a blast, they are at home watching little house on the praire re-runs. Oh the joy.
Lighten up man.

by Jrandolph on Apr 27, 2009 12:03 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

oh well three badass main events and we get to see if akyama is the real deal or not, plus the dinosaur, bonnar, fitch, bones! plenty of good fighters

by Jared on Apr 26, 2009 3:25 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

So your telling me that next UFC event “UFC 98” is actually UFC 99? C’mon take it easy the fact is July 11th the event is UFC 100 any one that say’s otherwise is a liar lol.

by Beaver on Apr 26, 2009 3:54 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

lol huge fan of mma but i think if you wanna see historic you need to stop showing the same fighters over and over get over your self and give us the fans good fights to watch like nick diaz beating down anderson silva for example i dont wanna watch brock vs mir 2 mir got lucky the first time. dont wanna see penn get in the cage with jsp again wheres randy and fedor they should have fought 3 years ago they wanna throw down let them there is to much politics in the fight game today mir gets his ass beat by the gorilla lesnar 2cnd round tko

by newman on Apr 26, 2009 7:02 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Hehe, you really had to slip that prediction in the end. Well I sorta’ also am goin’ with your prediction. But I’m addin’ a round to it. Lesnar via carnage in round 3. HIstory is written. It’s gonna be LEGENDARY! Otherwise, it’s a bust! It’ll expose MMA for what it is, which is a test of skill and technique. Brute size and force are irrelevant. The question is, can Mir stop Lesnar’s takedowns? It all boils down to that. If you think the answer is no, then bet your house on Brock! As in right now! ;)

by Syd[a.k.a."The Negation"] on Apr 27, 2009 5:35 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

ufc 102.. kyle maynard vs thales leites..they can both fight on the ground!! j/k..sorry!!

i am pumped for every ufc ppv.. though expectation brings disappointment..but i get excited none the less!! i have missed only one ppv in like 5 years..so dana, i hope you like my $$$!!!!
