Looking at the picture, GSP is throwing a punch while BJ has his hand open trying to poke GSP in the eye again! That might have been the real game plan for BJ. Poke GSP in the eye to gain an advantage.

It would be one thing if it was a live event they were showing to counter Strikeforce, but I don’t really see UFC 94 pulling a lot of viewers away. The only people that will probably watch are those that have cable but don’t have Showtime.

EXACTLY! I for one wouldnt be wasting a saturday night staying in to rewatch UFC 94. THat event BORED me! I will stay in to watch Diablo vs. Over rated!

Like Mex said, only people that will watch it are those without showtime, so there really is no point in the UFC doing this. It probably takes away from dvd sales if anything.

It’s very hard for me to comprehend how people can like BJ more than GSP.

I think BJ is pound for pound one of the best fighters in the world, and perhaps the one with the purest talent. Having said that, I think that GSP is:
a) nicer than BJ
b) smarter than BJ
c) trains harder than BJ
d) simply is more likable than BJ

I kind of hope this Greasgate gets worse. I am certain GSP will handle it in a mature and smart fashion, while BJ will just keep on blabbing his mouth. Then they will fight again and GSP will f…ck him again. Then BJ will cry a lot, get pissed and do something stupid like leave UFC or something else.

The Spike ads for this are an outrage “but the fight ended in Controversy judge for yourself wether GSP used grease” old news lets move on….BJ has no buisness fighting at 170…tempted to get Showtime for tomorrow…lets see how bored i get.

You know, Robert, I totally agree with you on one hand. On the other, this whole Greasegate thing isn’t for us, the true fans. It’s for casual fans, for would-be-fans.

You know how it works in the media. Drama, intrigue, grudge-match and so on. Remember how they would have Ortiz fight Ken Shamrock, over and over, although everyone who understood MMA knew that Ken Shamrock had no chance.

I think we all will benefit from this. I totally don’t mind having some purely “commercial matches” every now and then as long as it helps the sport get more fans and grow overall.

If they are going to do a counter showing why the fuck do they always plpay shit that has been talked to death about…re-showing a PPV cheats the people that paid the first time…if you didnt want to pay for the PPV, chances are you found teh fight after on a number of websites…if you didnt bother to look then your not an MMA fan…anyone responding to this post has seen the fight or they wouldnt be on this site… UFC is retarded when they do this counter programming shit..Im watching Diaz!

If the uFC really wanted to compete they would have a live event for free on Spike. I for one just ordered up Showtime my cable company happend to be running a special $6.99 a month for six months. I will get to watch 5 maybe six cards from Strikeforce for less than 1 UFC event.
