Great interview. Great fight. Miguel is def one of my favorite fighters. I love how he wants to beat his opponent at their own game. Giving props to Mizugaki was also very cool.

As a big torres fan i thought Mizugaki took this fight. Mizugaki won the 1st 3rd and the 4th rd was a draw. but i like torres but i have to be fair

I really like that Mizu gave him a hard gritty fight. Everyone just assumed he was some “ranked” guy from japan to get beat up but i thought hey he could give him one or two good rounds like maeda. I was hesitant to say that the 4th was a draw simply because torres was more active in the clinch. But i agree that he took 1 and 3.

I agree with NNR. I gave Mizugaki the first and third, but had Torres winning the fight by taking the other 3 rounds.

I appreciate seeing something unique in the cage and Torres gives me that. Whether it’s his conditioning level that allows him to breathe through his nose for the majority of a five round championship fight, or the fluid creative way he transitions from discipline to discipline instinctively, even uder fire, Torres is amazing.

Pretty cool to see Miguel go the full 5 rounds in such a war.

Chances are those two guys are not going to be getting out of bed today.
What a war, wish all fighters came to fight like that.
They both wanted to win and both gave it everything they had and never looked like they were going to gas.
Man I love bantamweight.

Man!… I really like champs that speak like champs!! The confidence balanced with respect! In my opinion, you don’t get that from Lesnar, B.J. or Evans!! Torres, GSP, Silva, even Fedor, those guys have it together, and that’s why they’re so hard to break mentally, and why contenders know immediately what they’re up against.

Word.
I have nothing but admiration for fighters like Torres who are tough as nails not just physically but mentally as well.
I’ve never heard the greatest fighters make excuses for their losses. They also show a lot of respect for their opponents whether they brutalize them or win via decision. The BJ Penn’s of this world do neither. They are pompous assholes in victory and whiny bitches in defeat.

Evans is undefeated and BJ is known as a top 5 P4P champ. Also Lesnar is looking like a train that isn’t going to be stopped anytime soon even though I would like Mir to beat him. Anyway I think this out proves your point wrong because these guys don’t seem to be mentally broken by their opponents. I will agree however that making excuses makes them look whiny and being arogant ashes makes them lose fans. But then again imagine if Brock or Rashad were not the way they were they would probably not generate much hype and thus have had to go through Machida’s path to the title.

I never said anything about winning or losing. I said that champs speak like champs, and as far as Lesnar, BJ and Rashad go, in my opinion all three have their next fights to prove, and hopefully will snap into that champion mindset some day or another.

The irony that the guys you mentioned are the p4p kings also :-P

All I have to say is whenever someone says a fight is going to be boring they are almost always wrong. Its ridiculous, we should all just post that we don’t think any fight will be exciting and then when it happens the fighters will give us fireworks to prove us wrong.

My favorite line from the night:
“The last thing you want to do is be winning a fight handily and then get caught in a an ankle lock” – Frank Mir
Oh the irony.

Seriously! That was a great fight. Much respect to both fighters. Im almost willing to say that Torres shouldnt have gotten that decision, but you have to “take” the title from the champ. Takeya wasnt able to do that. That is why Torres got the unanimous nod. Both of these guys are serious business and have a serious future ahead of them! Great fight!

Propps to Mizugaki for dishing out 5 rounds of punishment on Miguel’s face. Seriously, Miguel looked tore up!
I had Mizugaki winning rounds 1 & 3 and he really impressed me last night. Can’t wait to see this warrior back in the cage.

It was a great fight.
I had torres winning the 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th round.
I’m super impressed by Mizugaki.
I knew he was going to be a tough opponent for Torres.
