SHOGUN!!

chuck by BRUTAL ko!!! the first round might be close but i don’t see shogun getting out of the 2nd at all. chuck will never hold the belt again but he WILL beat shogun and other mid range fighters.

why does joe always look like he is heavy in between pay per views? i bet he cuts weight for fight night?

by bradpittfightclub on Apr 6, 2009 10:01 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

lmao maybe but even at pay per views he looks like a built mofo so who knows

by Jared on Apr 6, 2009 10:02 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Shogun indeed!! he’s the better and more skilled fighter, he just needs to get back in shape again to perform at his best..

by RoB on Apr 6, 2009 11:34 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Well he has a long way to go to get back in shape, because he looked like complete shit against Coleman. That was only 3 months ago. Chuck by ko/tko.

by naturalshadow on Apr 7, 2009 4:45 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

the way i see it if liddell wins this fight he’s only 1 win away from getting a title shot, if griffin wins against silva you ca almost guarentee that they’ll have griffin-liddell for the no1 contender spot, as for this fight i think shoguns style will play right into liddell’s however i dont think he will gas as easily, that said i see liddell getting the KO/TKO in either the late 1st or early 2nd. i am quite a big liddell fan and i’d like to see him get the title and retire on top, like i said i think if he wins this fight he would be close to getting a shot but even if he does i’m not sure if he can win, it would either be against machida who would frustrate him and probably beat him as he’s chasing him, rampage who lets face it probably has liddell’s number and i think this would be the hardest fight for him to win, or evans who might just be to quick for liddell now although i would still give liddell the biggest chance against him.

by hughes on Apr 7, 2009 8:52 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I would think lidell is a few wins away fron title shot. Hasn’t he lost 3 of his last 4 fights? 2 by brutal ko and one by split decision. I got lidell in this fight but as far as title shot, I wouldn’t be plannin on that any time soon.

by mr guillotine on Apr 7, 2009 9:57 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Sounds bad until you realize who he lost to. Two of those were UFC champions. The latter still holding the belt. And freaking Jardine is an enigma. If Chuck beats shogun decisively he may get a No. 1 contender shot. Winner of Silva/Griffin perhaps? Either one of these would take the fight against a huge name like Chuck. If Liddell wins that fight, then it’s either Bisbing or Henderson (or a rematch with Evans if he can keep the strap). Either way, these are all people Chuck can beat if he actually executes a game plan and stops headhunting.

by wAyNe on Apr 7, 2009 10:25 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Sorry got two comments mixed up. Haven’t had my coffee yet. I would like to see Chuck fight Bisbing though. LOL.

by wAyNe on Apr 7, 2009 10:28 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

THis fight is actually very easy to predict. If Shogun is in Shape, he DESTROYS Chuck in any way he wants. He can Ko him, or sub him with ease. If Shogun isnt in shape again, he gets KO’ed….Its actually pretty simple!

I do have to go with Shogun. I am a big Chuck fan, who isnt? But Shogun has about 20 ways more then chuck to win a fight….so I would have to give him the edge as long as he is in shape!

Shogun by submission….Knee bar!

by john on Apr 7, 2009 10:50 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Joe had a great breakdown of what Shogun’s gone through with his knee, but until we see the “Pride Shogun” fight in the UFC I have a hard time picking him.

by GregC on Apr 7, 2009 1:04 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I think the only way Chuck loses is by T/KO or Decision…he’s not getting subbed.

by Chadx23 on Apr 7, 2009 3:10 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

John, Shogun has to take Chuck down to sub him and that ain’t going to happen. Chuck will have the stand up advantage no matter what shape he is in (when has someone been able to clinch with Chuck to beat him up?). Chuck whips out an elbow or a punch as soon as they think about clinching (not going to happen). No way Shogun beats him in boxing. Shogun should be in better shape than the Coleman fight, but that isn’t saying much. Chuck will be hungry and Shogun is getting KTFO.

by Gord on Apr 9, 2009 1:37 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Say it as it is!! Iceman by brutality!! He’s gonna get redemption for Rashad knockin’ his block off!!

by Syd[a.k.a."The Negation"] on Apr 6, 2009 11:38 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Man, I don’t know if Chuck’s gotten his block back after that one. Regardless, if Shogun hasn’t drastically improved his conditioning then he’s going to get dropped.

by greggo on Apr 7, 2009 12:23 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

That’s exactly what I’ve been feelin’… Chuck will never wear the belt again but he will KO Shogun in the 2nd.

by DJ on Apr 7, 2009 6:07 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Hey Guys,

The MMA radio link tipped me off to the -500 Henderson +300 Bisping scenario. I through $500 into sportbook.com to start my betting addiction. I’m trying to decide how much to throw on Bisping. I think if Dan was able to hang with Franklin, he will beat Bisping, but the odds are nice. Also, Bisping didn’t do well against Hammel so I don’t really see him handing with Hendo. I feel Hendo can grind out a decision if it comes to that. Having said that, Bisping at +300 is still attractive. Give me some feedback por favor.

by Punch You in the Ovaries on Apr 6, 2009 10:01 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

If you like throwing money away bet Bisping.lol just kiddin. Serious though the only way Mike is gettin a W is if he brings a ball bat.You say is yourself with Mike hanging with Hendo.plus hendo got a chin of granite.

by SluggerCitySoldier on Apr 6, 2009 10:44 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I think Bisping will take a unanimous decision victory over Hendo. I just might play that at +300.

Bisping will be next in line to fight Anderson Silva after he kills Leites in the first round.

by J on Apr 6, 2009 11:23 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Bet your money on Hendo. Trust me dude. I’ve got a nice accuracy rate here in these MMA bets…

by Syd[a.k.a."The Negation"] on Apr 6, 2009 11:40 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Bispings going to come in the fight with Hendo the way he fought Leban … Bisping feels he is the better striker and all he needs to look out for is his right hand just like how he felt all he had to look out for with Leban was his left hand … but Hendo’s different from Leban obviously I see a tko victory for Hendo

by JR on Apr 7, 2009 12:10 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Thanks, I agree with all the responses thus far. Ultimately it comes down to this for me:
Does Bisping have enough power to KO Dan? Not likely
Can Biping stand up if Dan decides to take it to the ground? I dobut it.

I’ve been 100% on calling mismatch victories where the odds are closer to even than they should be. I’ve called 16 right over the pays 14 months or so. I suppose I should stick to those. It’s just the payoffs aren’t very large in most of those scenarios. It would nice to call a significant upset for once.

Verdict: I’ll bet small on Bisping for shits

by Punch You in the Ovaries on Apr 7, 2009 12:52 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I already bet $100 on THe COUNT!!!!!

by john on Apr 7, 2009 10:48 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Is it wishful thinking on your part John or you feel strong about it? Bisping looks fast and agile as hell at this weightclass, but I don’t think he’s had a Dan H on top of him before.

by Punch You in the Ovaries on Apr 7, 2009 11:37 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I think you should listen to yourself about how Bisping got beat by Hammel. Dan is a way better version of Hammel and he will beat Bisping. Bisping can beat most MW’s, but Hendo isn’t one of them. Hendo will take him down at will and at the very least win a decision. No matter what the odds are, I don’t think you can win betting against Hendo in this fight.

by Gord on Apr 9, 2009 1:44 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

dump the house on shogun…he will be back

by bigsmoke on Apr 6, 2009 9:48 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

This is one fight to avoid betting on

by BMO on Apr 6, 2009 10:07 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Agreed.

Although I think Shogun is terribly overrate — and I don’t say that often. I just think Chuck has lost a lot of his spark, but if the Shogun who fought Coleman shows up, then its lights out.

by J on Apr 6, 2009 11:25 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

*terribly overrated.

by J on Apr 6, 2009 11:26 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

He isnt overrated at all. In the past few years he has beaten:

Allister Overeem
Rampage
Mark Coleman
Kevin Randleman
Nog
Nakamura

He looked like shit against Coleman and Griffin in his UFC debut.

He is going to catch chuck with a kick and send him to the canvas.

by Cut the Blue Wire on Apr 7, 2009 10:48 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

good call. too risky either way.

by JB on Apr 7, 2009 8:24 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Get out the classifieds and look for a place to rent then because Chuck is going to KHTFO.

by Gord on Apr 9, 2009 1:46 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

this fight is tailor made for chuck to knock out Rua. If the same Rua that fought coleman shows up he will get ktfo. Shogun had terrible standup, when coleman gets the better of you on your feet you have a problem. he will fight liddell the same way couture and babalu did, press forward with hands down and chin up. look for chuck to score a backing up counter punching ko.

by day1er on Apr 6, 2009 9:56 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

WAR CHUCKY!!! i really want to see him take out rua, and than maybe griffin for once last shot at the gold.

ok but does yours have a pipe, a half pound of weed, some kellogs pop tarts, some hot bitches phone number, and alot of cash in the pockets?

by day1er on Apr 6, 2009 10:47 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

wow how hard are you hugging his nuts?

by brendan on Apr 7, 2009 12:26 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Doesn’t it ever get tiring hating one everything UFC? Aside from the ‘hot bitch’s phone number’ what part of that is hugging his nuts? The rest of that is common knowledge. You’re probably just jealous that Joe Rogan undoubtedly gets more ass than you could ever hope for.

by GregC on Apr 7, 2009 3:12 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I really feel that money bet on Shogun against Liddell would be better spent on beer! Unless they “show alot of respect to each other,” I don’t see shogun making it out of the first! Not that he isn’t a good fighter, but, Liddell is a bad style for him. I’m predicting that Chuck will totally overwhelm him and the Ref will wave it off in the first!

by Dana's a CrossDresser on Apr 6, 2009 10:33 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Shogun is going to hurt Chuck bad….will not stop saying this intil April 18th…Chuck is done….Shogun was hurt and will be back…maybe not a champ but top 5 for at least the next 7 years….
it’s my birthday tomorrow boys!!!!

Happy Birthday Robert1! How young would you be?

by Syd[a.k.a."The Negation"] on Apr 7, 2009 1:19 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Hurt Chuck bad like he did Forrest and Coleman. I am not a big Chuck fan and picked Rashad to beat him, but I do not think you can really cannot say a fighter is done if they get beaten to the punch like Ramapage and Rashad did to him, his performace against Wandy was pretty descent even though Wandy had no gameplan whatsoever apart from standing up and trading, but if I was to compare Shoguns performance against this, I know which fighter I would say is done. Shogun is about as done as Nog is. Although there are a few that really want to beleive otherwise. John where are you?

by Ade on Apr 7, 2009 2:10 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Shogun is 26 coming back from knee operations he looked gassed but not old, slow and unable to take a punch which can’t come back….Shogun with cardio will be back….Chuck can;’t gain anything back it belongs to father time now……..

by Robert(1) on Apr 7, 2009 11:32 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

The only thing that will be hurting Chuck after his fight with Shogun will be his fists. I don’t see any fighters in the UFC at 205 that wouldn’t have beaten the Shogun that fought Coleman. If he is even remotely close to being in that type of shape, he leaves the octagon in a bodybag.

by naturalshadow on Apr 7, 2009 4:42 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

you guys will see, shogun will finish chuck and fight winner of forrest/silva (which will be silva) for the title shot, than he’ll beat the crap out of machida (who will be champion by then) to win the title. 2010 shogun will be champ and will stay champ for a LONG time!

by orcus on Apr 7, 2009 9:25 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Ok let me break it down for you experts. given Shogun’s aggressive Chutebox style, he’s goin’ to push forward in a frantic pace, tryin to knock Chuck’s head off[just like the Rashad decapitation].

Now while Chuck backpedals, he’s gonna throw a vicious counter which will result in Shogun lyin’ on the canvas. gassed out and knocked out!

by Syd[a.k.a."The Negation"] on Apr 6, 2009 11:36 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Thales Leites vs Silva is a waste of time, im only buying this paperview for the other fights, Thales Leites is going to get torn apart.

For Chuckie to come back after humiliations by Jardine and Rashad is a miracle. He’s gonna get his ass BEAT again.

Word.

by ja434650 on Apr 7, 2009 2:30 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Honestly, I see Shogun stomping a mudhole in Chuck’s ass. Reason being? Shogun has not looked good at all since he’s come over to UFC. He underestimated Forrest Griffin and it backfired on him, and then he fought (huff puff) mark coleman, who was not only old and winded but looked like general crap.
Now I know you’re thinking “After saying all that stuff about Shogun, how can i possibly think he has a shot against Liddell?”. Its simple : Chuck is old, and has looked like crap in fights against Jardine, and he got KTFO against Rashad, who for all intents and purposes has 0 power. I think Shogun will be motivated after watching that tape of him and Coleman over and over again, and seeing Liddell handle a game but overwhelmed Wanderlei Silva.
Shogun by TKO in the 2nd.
