MMA Quick Quote: Abongo Humphrey has 'Grim' outlook for Brett Rogers on April 11

"My experience on 'Iron Ring' was fascinating. I faced some pretty good opponents there ... I’m coming in at around 245 pounds. You can expect a lot of movement…I like to move and I like to mix it up. I definitely like to stand up and strike. I’m a new talent and I think I’m pretty multi-faceted. I’m kind of like Brett in that a lot of my fights haven’t gotten past my hands and my legs so they haven’t really had a chance to see my ground game. Hopefully this fight they’ll get a chance to see that. If not, then the fight will end with a punch or a kick."
--Ron Humphrey (5-0), former participant on the BET reality show 'Iron Ring,' anticipates his Strikeforce debut against the heavy-handed Brett Rogers (8-0) during yesterday's Showtime-Strikeforce conference call. The undefeated "Abongo" won two fights on the BET show while being coached by UFC veteran Shonie Carter and the Atlanta, Georgia resident looks to keep that momentum going against "The Grim" on April 11 in San Jose.

I don’t know, I personally have never been overly impressed by Grim! He has been rocked by lesser fighters (granted he won the fight), but as far as impressive goes…meh!

Humphrey has some talent, but would worry me is the postion of his hands when he strikes. In the fights I’ve seen, he keeps his hands kind of low, which coul be a problem against someone with Rogers’reach.
On the flips side, Rogers is a big man that tends to give up his height. Either way, I think it’s going to be entertaining fight.
