NOW that was one BORING ASS fight. Bader did the same thing on TUF.
BADER FIGHT GAME PLAN:
Here let me lay on you, hammer fist, hold, hammer fist, hold, move, hammer fist, hold, breath hard, hold.

I had a much better nickname for “Darth” during TUF, but then after the Finale, I said to myself that I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt and hold off for a while. But after last night, his VM nickname is back in effect = Ryan “The Master” Bader.

I am so freaking sick of these sorry-ass LnP wrestlers who have no way to win fights other than sitting in top position for 15 minutes. Master Bader, Upper Lip Dollaway and the rest of Team Takedown can hump each other until they are raw and chafed for all I care, and take T. Griffin, Huggie Bear and the rest of their ilk with them.
by PW on Apr 2, 2009 2:07 PM EDT up reply actions
LOL.
Hey, you can’t say that about Griffin anymore…
:)

who u telling PW!!!!!!! I have been bitching about the wrestlers in mma for a long time now….Its so damn frustrating. UFC needs to do away with the whole, being able to win a fight by being on top….its a fight, and u can be just as effective off your back as u can be in top position. Do away with awarding fighters points for being in top position…that will force these boring wrestlers to actually start fighting instead of coasting to a win by doing NOTHING n just staying in top position!

Breaking news…. pw and john in case you did not know. wrestling is a combat sport. many fighters have spent most of their lives perfecting their skill. guess what, the reason a wrestler keeps someone down is because 1. he was able to take their ass down 2. he is able to keep their ass down. dont bitch because some fighter is getting dominated and is unable to fight back. many bjj fighters have had answers for a wrestler putting them on their back and have won by submission, good for them. however if all a fighter has is striking and gets put on his then he is in the wrong buisness, not the wrestler. he should spend time learning to fight on the ground. like bruce lee said “90% of all fights end up on the ground”

Thursday morning conversation***
Well Bader, not since the first Affliction show have I fallen asleep during a fight/event, but guess what? I nodded off last night (literally) during his fight.
Overall, the fights kept me entertained. The leg lock Griffin was caught in was great and looked very painful. I have been saying for a few years now that Condit probably can’t handle UFC caliber fighters. IFC and WEC fighters alike tried to convince us that the WEC wasn’t the minor leagues, but we all knew better. I think Condit looked bigger than he usually looks, but he’s too small and not strong enough to fight at WW with the big boys! Can he make 155???
.
TUF was pretty good considering it was all fights. I’m almost offended for the guys from england about the subtitles. I got to say one thing, if that Alex Reid (what was he, 40?) had made it into the house, I probably would have ended up committing suicide this year!

by the way, I left Junie out on purpose, props to cole for hopefully sending that douche to some back woods fighting shows somewhere in hick town. Guy has no talent!
by kevin on Apr 2, 2009 11:00 AM EDT up reply actions
REALLY Kev? You sound like Kampmann dominated him for two rounds and then TKO’d him. A lot of people had Condit winning that fight with Kampmann only winning the last round, and that was due to being in the top position. Once he tasted what Condit had to offer on the feet, the Danish Kickboxer wanted no part of Condit! After watching the fight, I don’t believe that anyone can say that Kampmann looks like the “more dangerous” fighter.
MAD PROPS to The Natural Born Killer! In my eyes, there were no losers in that fight, just two all in all winners that are going to be forces at 170 (I don’t think Carlos could make 155 effectively, he is 6’2" and isn’t THAT scrawny, I mean, he didn’t look much ‘thinner’ than Kampmann at all).
Its obvious that they should have gotten FOTN over Griffin/Dos Anjos. I think that Dana hooked Condit up with a backstage under the table bonus, that was probably even greater than his win bonus would have been. But that is just a hunch/speculation.
by ViolentMike on Apr 2, 2009 11:42 AM EDT up reply actions
I again disagree Mike, the Griffin/Dosanjos fight was great! The transitions and back and forth action was phenomenal! I like Condit, but he was supposed to win this fight! It was close, I’ll give you that, a draw…possibly, but he didn’t showcase much. just my opinion!
by kevin on Apr 2, 2009 11:56 AM EDT up reply actions
kevin some of the ifl are doing great so what do you mean?not every fighter from the wec or ifl belong in the ufc but neither do other fighter that are, or get into the ufc.condit did fine kampman lost to one of the best mw’s otherwise he held his own a weight class above.

Bader is so lame. I’m getting tired of wrestlers who lay on people and don’t even attempt to do any real damage. This is supposwed to be fighting, not controlling from top position and burying your face in a guy’s stomach like a coward.
by Jeremyjackson on Apr 2, 2009 12:53 PM EDT up reply actions
wow … about Condit & Kampmann… Martin Kampmann is 4-1 in the UFC MIDDLEWEIGHT division, beating some pretty tough guys like Leites, McFedries and Rivera. How does barely losing to a fighter like that @ 170 diminish Condit in any way?
by TooDiesel on Apr 2, 2009 11:14 AM EDT up reply actions
It doesn’t necessarily diminish, and I hear what you’re sying, but Condit is the WEC champ! He deserves to be in the UFC, no doubt, and showed poise (the guillotine) and Kampman had more damage done to him, but like you said, a middle weight cutting more weight to get to 170, he didn’t look drained. Condit was bigger, but not stronger. I don’t know, don’t get me wrong, I’m a condit fan!
by kevin on Apr 2, 2009 11:19 AM EDT up reply actions
Condit’s front face kick from a standing position that sent K. into the fence was sick! He looked like that Indian character from the StreetFighter video game with that move.
That guy is way talented.
Start putting him on more main events!

I think that was Dalsiam. Spelling is way off, but it sounds like that.

Kevin: You get my email a few weeks ago? I wanted to see if everyone wanted to go to ufc 100 instead of one in sept (and that’s if they even have one in vegas @ that time.) and I agree with the Junie comment! Can’t stand that scummer! Last night I bet with my heart and brain and took Miller. His fight against Delgardo on the show was pathetic! I think Delgardo just might be the worst fighter,(if you can call him that) that has ever entered the octagon! If anyone doesnt believe that than watch the fight with him and Junie again. If junie couldnt finish that guy than I don’t see him finishing anyone anytime soon. I know hes training @ xtrm, but no one can improve that much!

yeah, sorry I didn’t get back to you! I’m looking into 101 in philly, but with this economy right now, I don’t know. I’ve lost too much money on my stocks and hours have been cut back at work. I

I would think vegas would be easier for you, don’t you live in cali?
by BOW on Apr 2, 2009 2:47 PM EDT up reply actions
at 6’2 no way he makes 155, condit needs to bulk up so he has to cut more like gsp and alves did look at how small gsp was when he started and now he walks around around 185-190 that’s where condit needs to be if he wants to be competitive..
i kinda liked the bader fight the wrestling in that was pretty good it wasn’t the worst fight i have ever seen i’d rather watch bader then clay guida
by randy murders on Apr 2, 2009 11:50 AM EDT up reply actions
I think Condit needs to drop to 155 if he ever wants to contend for a title. Kampmann is good, but there are better guys at 170 that would have finished Condit. GSP would GnP him to a pulp.
by LJ on Apr 2, 2009 2:29 PM EDT up reply actions
yeah but gsp would gnp just about every ww so thats not saying alot.

Talk about boring performances, this interview. Jeeze.
I do wonder if Rogan & Goldberg realize Marrero was in the fight also.

Off topic, but Helio should have gotten a similar remembrance as Mask got!!! Without Helio there is no ufc or this site!
by BOW on Apr 2, 2009 11:40 AM EDT reply actions
I dont recall the exact UFC event, but before it stated they dedicated the whole show to Helio.
by lokie on Apr 2, 2009 11:56 AM EDT reply actions
I remeber that, but big deal. They had a five second thing @ the beg of the event and that was it. He should have gotten more than that! Again, without Helio Dana and the ufc would have never been a thought to any of us.

Bader did look to be a little winded early. I forgot what sub he tried to pull off in the beginning that wore him out.
by shitleTOT.com on Apr 2, 2009 1:23 PM EDT reply actions
This is ridiculous, it you want to see a stand up fight it’s called K1 stupid. I’m so sick people always hating on wrestlers. So Bader’s fight wasn’t exciting, many guys with wrestling BASES (meaning they were wrestlers FIRST) are very exciting in their fights. Tyson Griffin, Frankie Edgar, Randy Couture, Chuck Liddell, Dan Henderson, Quinton Jackson, Shane Carwin, Brock Lesner, Rashad Evans, Tito Ortiz, John Howard etc. I understand that many of you guys are jealous of their skills though. Seriously, you guys need to watch reruns of the Karate Kid, Pro boxing, or K1 or quit bitching because wrestlers will ALWAYS be successful in MMA.
