CB Dollaway vs Tom Lawlor UFC 100 fight booked for July 11

The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 7 runner-up CB Dollaway (8-1) will make his fourth straight Octagon appearance when he takes on TUF 8 contestant Tom Lawlor (5-1) at UFC 100 from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, on July 11 according to MMAWeekly.
"The Doberman" was unsuccessful in his bid to win it all at the TUF 7 Finale on June 21, losing to eventual tournament winner Amir Sadollah via first round submission (armbar).
The Arizona Combat Sports-trained fighter was able to rebound in his next appearance and score an impressive submission victory over Jesse "Yellow Submarine" Taylor less than a month later at Fight Night 14 with a rare "Peruvian necktie."
The strong wrestler out of Arizona State University (ASU) then faced Mike Massenzio at UFC 92 and despite some controversy surrounding "Tapgate," Dollaway was victorious via first round TKO.
Standing in his way is season eight contestant Tom Lawlor.
The former light heavyweight -- perhaps best known for his fruity tribute to Piss Christ (and for clowning Dave Kaplan in the bathroom of the TUF house) -- was bounced out of the running when he fell to eventual winner Ryan Bader in episode three of the SpikeTV reality show.
"The Filthy Mauler" is a three-time NCWA All-American from the University of Central Florida and trains with EliteXC Kryptonite Seth Petruzelli out of Jungle MMA in Orlando, Florida.
UFC 100 features two major title fights: Brock Lesnar and Frank Mir will tangle to declare an undisputed division champion and Georges St. Pierre will once again defend his 170-pound strap against number one contender, Thiago Alves.
In addition, TUF 9 coaches, Dan Henderson and Michael Bisping, are slated to meet and determine who earns the right to challenge the reigning middleweight champion later in 2009.

I dont even remember who lawler is! Cb Dollaway goes from supposedly fighting Jorge Rivera, to this guy?
Bet CB for sure…He wont lose to this guy!

Yeah, I dont care much for CB, but with a couple of good performances, and some submission defense he could be a player in a year or so.
I saw somewhere a person posted the nickname Amir “No Fear” Sadollah. I lol’d. Not bad.

Guess it doesn’t have the same ring to it.

lawler is the guy who got knocked out by bader and looks suspiciously like matt hughes with a mohawk… or is that just me??
by ufcaddict on Mar 26, 2009 9:18 PM EDT up reply actions
I don’t care much for either of these fighter so here’s to a double KO.

Not at all a CB fan but a really rough fight for Lawlor and have to agree with Lester….please baby Jesus do not make this a MC event.

What was the tapegate they talk about i can’t recall?
by onthebutton336 on Mar 26, 2009 12:14 PM EDT reply actions
CB looked like he tapped in his fight with Massenzio. The ref didn’t see it (he was on the wrong side) and CB got out of the hold. Rogan and Goldie said that it seemed as if he was tapping like they do in training (where someone puts you in a hold and you tap real quicky). It was also just like the tap he did against Amir, but the ref saw it that time.

THIS CARD IS JAM PCKED OF GREAT FIGHT THEN AGIAN ALL UFC ARE
by levis on Mar 26, 2009 12:27 PM EDT reply actions
Not really dude. This card’s okay, but is not living up to the hype at all (yes, I know I’ve pointed out how disappointing 100 is looking a 100 times already). I’m just waiting on some knock your socks off fight to be announced, but it’s just not happening. Every fight on this card should be headliner worthy, or at least interesting

he looks like hes constantly smelling shit, that might be it?

Who gives a crap about this fight…dolloway sucks and lawler pisses in his fruits..
by What? on Mar 26, 2009 12:32 PM EDT reply actions
Really, I dont think this fight has UFC 100 written all over it.
by the spyder on Mar 26, 2009 12:32 PM EDT reply actions
Totally agree spyder. Bump this to 101 or 102!! CB “I smell sht” Doberman DOES NOT belong on supposedly “the best card in MMA History”.
Personally I think for hyping it up so much Dana has not lived up to his word for making 100 unbelievable. Great card yes, best in a while, possibly. Nothing that makes you stop and say “damn, that is going to be an unbelievable card top to bottom.” Maybe I’m just spoiled.

Can you really complane? Lesner vs Mir, GSP vs Alves, Hendo vs Bisbing. You have the culmination of the Heavyweight tournament and TUF plus the long awaited GSP vs Alves fight. That’s better than the line up for UFC 92.
by DB on Mar 26, 2009 2:25 PM EDT up reply actions
nah nothing was better than the hype between wandy-jackson 3 and mir-nog and forest-rashad were pretty damn good fights
by Jared on Mar 26, 2009 6:24 PM EDT up reply actions
This should be undercard on a Fight night…who cares.
by FukStyck on Mar 26, 2009 2:06 PM EDT reply actions
i honestly believe that he will use the necktie to win this fight. He loves that damn move and lawler is a perfect candidate to get choked!
by john on Mar 26, 2009 2:39 PM EDT up reply actions
I hope so! That is one sweet submission! I think CB has lost a bit of his arrogance after getting tapped out twice by Amir, a guy he should beat on paper. I’m gonna give him another chance.
by Jeremyjackson on Mar 26, 2009 2:46 PM EDT up reply actions
I never bashed CB the way everyone else did. I wont lie, I am a fan of the kid…its an amazing submission, but its actually not hard to pull off…I dont know why other fighters dont incorporate it into their arsenals.
I also think he has been humbled and wont be as cocky, so maybe he will gain more fans.
by john on Mar 26, 2009 3:15 PM EDT up reply actions
he sounded like a tranny after his win at 92 so fucking funny
by Jared on Mar 26, 2009 6:26 PM EDT up reply actions
I dunno why everyone everywhere hates CB? He has talent and imo will be a contender in the mw division in a couple of years.
by Little Focker on Mar 26, 2009 2:30 PM EDT reply actions
It may have something to do with the natural curve of his upper lip, which leads the unedeucated viewer to believe that he is perpetually smelling shit.

Jesse "Yellow Submarine" Taylor??
What happened to “JT Money”? Did he not like that nickname?
by freedom on Mar 26, 2009 3:32 PM EDT reply actions
Come on …CB on the UFC 100 …NObody deserves it
Plaease
by Thiago on Mar 26, 2009 4:47 PM EDT reply actions
this is a step down from cb’s last opponent, who he tapped to anywayz. only thing lawler mite have is size and be able to hold dolloway down to get a decision win.
i personally cant stand cb dolloway. as far as im concerned he’s 0-3 in the ufc not 2-1. In the fite against jt money he landed an illegal knee and jt was not the same, that idiot should have taken a full five minutes to reconver. then dolloway completely tapped out to Mike Massenzio clearly in the choke, another dumb ref move made. Hopefully lawler catches this douche somehow and hands him his first of many losses

I find it so amusing that most of the people “bloggin” about how much of a shitty fighter Dollaway is when truth be know your sittin @ home on your large obese lard asses doggin someone else who’s tryin to make something of himself. Keep it up though because that’ll just add fule to his fire! Trust me this guy has heart & will make it far. Keep hatin, all you haters. You’ve just seen the begining of CB Dollaway!
