Former UFC Heavyweight Champions Tim "The Maine-iac" Sylvia and Randy "The Natural" Couture will face off once again on Thursday, March 26th at 8:30 PM (ET) in an episode of "Beyond The Hunt" on the Outdoor Network Channel.

NO offense, but the mma news better get better today! NOt a damn useful thread this whole morning…except for sengoku results.
If you having a hard time finding news mania, maybe you should allow me to post a fight announcement or 2, for a change! lol

Hunting is a primal drive. And the book “The Most Dangerous Game” was better than this movie. That’s right…I’m insulting your manhoods and your intellect in one post. Just kidding. While I don’t mind hunting from time to time. It doesn’t make for good TV. And Gary Busy was in Surviving the game and I tend to watch when I see that crazy bastard.

I think that they should bring back Tim Sylvia to the UFC- As much as ppl don’t like him(me being one of them) it would make for some interesting fights in a slowly growing HW division. Bringing him back would do nothing but good for the UFC in terms of fights- he’s not very good at selling PPV but put him in co-main event or something against Carwin, or even Gonzaga or Congo and very interesting match ups.
btw who agree’s Carwin should fight Congo next??
by ricky on Mar 20, 2009 10:57 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
I really wanna see Carwin vs Lesnar; I just wanna see two guys that cut to make 265, that are actually in shape throw bombs on eachother.

ricky…on papar you are right…problem is that Tim turns every interesting match up into a boring Humpfest against the cage!
Unless the fighters you mentioned just steamroll through tim, he will turn those fights into snoozefests as well!
I will never forgive that Offy Fock, for that disgrace of a title fight that was Sylvia Monson. I still hate myself for ordering that ppv!

I think Congo, Dos Santos, and Cain.. are all in the mix. to be facing one another in the near UFc future.

Thing is Ricky the amount of money he was paid by Affliction he would ask too much off the UFC and no-one buys a PPV to watch him fight so i can’t see it happening.
I could see him fighting in Japan, he has that dash of freak show about him.
Bigfoot vs Timmy anyone? He could get back on the juice as well!
by Nick J on Mar 20, 2009 11:41 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
I would love to see Bigfoot whoop his ass in Japan!
Timmy’s gonna have a nice little problem left on his hands. He has 1 fight left with Affliction, and once his contract expires….he will nEVER again be seeing that kind of money. He will be lucky to get $100,000 per fight contract…he can kiss those $800,000 paydays goodbye!

Yeah i agree, he can command sort of Vera/Jardine money but thats it. I hope he invested that 800k wisely!

Great, because we need more examples of MMA fighters looking like violent barbarians. AWESOME!
by xocgx on Mar 20, 2009 10:32 AM EDT reply actions 0 recs
I wouldn’t classify hunting as a barbaric activity.
by RealDrew on Mar 20, 2009 10:36 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Hunters are not violent barbarians. We are just honest enough to do ourself what you pay the butcher to do for you.

No doubt, deer meat, elk, goose.. thats good stuff right there. I got a coworker that shoots Geese, makes these little goose poppers, wrapped in bacon.. Their awesome.. makes me wanna bust out a hunting rifle everytime I see a flock going over head.

only when you are hunting for food. most hunting is viewed as a sport for trophies. not down with that. especially since i dont really think hunting an animal like a deer or bird with a gun is “sporting”. tis like LW vs HW… with the LW being the mc black belt guy from tuf and the HW being Fedor.
by josh on Mar 20, 2009 11:35 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Yea I don’t care about the trophies… Dead animals just taste really really good!

No kidding. It’s funny how there’s no good Tim Sylvia fight news. Unless you consider calling out Ken Shamrock good.

by bobby o'shea on Mar 20, 2009 12:12 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
I am no HUNTER or a fan of Coutures but calling people a redneck or white trash just because they hunt is one of the dumbest things I have ever read on this site!
Thank you for the valuable contribution! lol,

Sylivia was never really more than a bar fighter who got lucky. Dude is built like a pear.

Not that much of a bar fighter though, Kane from WWE beat him down in a bar fight apparently.
“WWE Star Kane Takes Out UFC Star Tim Sylvia In Bar Fight?
By Keelan Balderson on March 19th, 2009
Although I cannot confirm this yet, several MMA sites are reporting that WWE star Kane took out former UFC Heavyweight Champion, Tim Sylvia in a bar fight.
Ninja Shoes wrote:
"A witness says the two were arguing and Tim Sylvia instigated the fight. Jacobs quickly took Sylvia to the ground and repeatedly punched him in the face. The bartender along with a bystander helped pull Jacobs off Sylvia. Sylvia was said to have suffered a broken nose and a black eye.
The police were notified but since the fight was not prolonged and neither men wanted to press any charges, no arrests were made. Sylvia was driven by a friend who was with him to the hospital to treat the broken nose. Glen Jacobs left the scene with his wife shortly after."
Kane is one of the many WWE wrestlers that are fans of MMA and the UFC, and has actually casually trained in the sport similar to Batista. It must also be noted that he is a lot bigger than Sylvia.
As of now take it with a grain of salt."

Damn I’m waiting for some hard evidence to come out; Tim gets choked out by Fedor in 36 secs, then goes on to challenge Ken Shamrock and Ray Mercer, now he gets beat up in a bar fight by Kane; can anyone think of WORSE carreer moves a fighter could make???
