I don’t see why Lashely gets so much credit. I didn’t really see but in his last fight to lean either way. We all saw but Lesnar did but this isn’t Brock Lesnar. It’s possible that he is just as capable as Lesnar but we have no way of knowing that yet. And apparently Dana White doesn’t think that Lashely could cut it in the UFC. I think that because he stated that Lesnar was the only one from the WWE that could make that transition.

Lashley’s doing what every other MMA fighter is doing which is starting at the bottom. He’s fighting guys that are at the same level in their career as he is. Lashley is an animal. Everyone who is saying that he’s too bulky and doesn’t have the skill set to be competetive, just needs to take a look at Brock Lesnar. Thats the way I look at it; the guys that have to cut to make 265 are true HW’s, and guys like Gonzaga and Heath Herring are bulking up to reach 265; pretty soon these guys hovering between 220-250 lbs aren’t going to be able to compete; They’ll have to come up with a cruiser weight division.

i get what you guys are saying, but a slight advantage brock has is he has been this size since high school. lashley wrestled in college at 170 approx. he didn’t put on the extra 100 lbs (natural i’m sure) til his wwe days. Not only could it cause him some fatigue, but joint pain and other minor physical issues that could affect (or effect???) the later rounds of a fight.

Lots of people take roids in high school, the point I am making, is lashley wrestled at 177 lbs in 1998 and 201lbs in 2002 for the army. He now is at 265 or pulling a little bit to make 265. The only experience he has at this weight is WWE, training, and 1 mma fight. Where brock actually competed his college wrestling career at HW, wwe, training mma. I am saying brock has a slight advantage over lashley as a large man competeing in mma because it is a more natural size for him. Not implying that either guy got their large size naturally.

The sheer effect of the WWE crossover is immense on the fact that they are just monsters and move like 155 pounders. They go off the roid’s for a year and they let these freaks fight mma. They need to fight super heavy. They cut down to make 265. So seriously. I had no faith and said all the same about Brock Lesnar. jason guida looked horrible in his last fight on one of those ShoXC cards. Eventhough we’ve seen Lashley in one fight. I think he will still prevail in this fight.

Shamrock was more of a threat, because Ken, despite being way over the hill, still has submission game and that will always be the Achilles heel of huge wrestlers new to the mma game. Guida will probably try to bang with him and get taken down and overwhelmed.
Shamrock might have arm bared or leg locked him.

Actually, nice wrist lock from Guida :) This is going to be interesting. If Guida clips Lashley and takes him out, his career is over before it ends. No one likes Guida, he has a shit record, he has nothing to lose. I hope Lashley doesnt screw up.

Lashley’s got nothing to lose either when you think about it. It’s his 2nd pro fight in a small org. He’s facing competition equal to the level of a beginnning fighter. He can afford to lose 2 or 3 really. If you study some of our favorite fighters records you’ll notice that most losses come from their early days.

He is living off the back of Lesnar hype. You do realise Guida is a whole weight class below Lashley dont you? Lesnar only worked because he started off well. A guy who has the entertainment pedigree Lashley does, has not got the silent approach of ‘our other favourite fighter’ – he is already well known.

yeah, i couldnt beleive that Couture, Carwin, Guida, Maia arent in the game. Couture i can see, probably something with his contract. But i cant beleive that fan faves like Guida is not in there!
