guys, I was gonna do a conversation since I haven’t posted in a few days, but I’ll sum it up instead.
Kimbo has bad footwork, average head movement and no knock out power, he will fail at boxing too!
Affliction couldn’t counter a UFC fight night, never mind UFC 100. If they have any advisors, this show won’t go on! I’m looking forward to the next affliction show, but putting it on the same date as 100 is definitely the suicide of affliction!

I think affliction’s point is going kamikaze. All sources are saying that they will exist the scene after the next paychecks are due to fighters(since they get it whether they fight or not). It’s just a matter of fizzling out or going out with a bang.

Chill out guys…this affliction news is BS! They arent going head to head with anyone!
Affliction COO Michael D. Cohen told Versus.com that no MMA promotion could be dumb enough to battle UFC 100:
“I don’t think we are ever looking to go up against the UFC or anyone for that matter. We are certainly not looking to share the viewers or the audience that is our there. We would like a date to ourselves because, at the end of the day, we want the greatest number of people to be watching.”

I disagree with you that Kimbo has NO knockout power because any person that puts their entire game into stand up, they will have some skill, and yes KO power, but I think Kimbo has a better chance at MMA then he does boxing. Now for the Affliction fight that is utter suicide for them to have a PPV the same night as the UFC nonetheless UFC 100. I do believe and KNOW, Affliction has the best heavyweight division in all MMA, but you cant promote heavyweights to sell PPV’s. I saw the last Affliction card, and I appreciated it just as much as a UFC card. Now this probably sounds crazy, but the best thing that could happen for Affliction is for Barnett to beat Fedor. I know it sounds crazy, but just keep reading. Barnett beats Fedor a bunch of hype in the mma world happens, and a rubber match is set and Fedor beats Barnett, setting up one more match between the two. Now obviously it makes sense to say Andre and Fedor, but if Affliction doesnt start taking off here in the next 12 months I dont think we will see them down the road.

So funny how Bonnar’s name was absent from the list of people who tested pos for steriods one of the few times Ken-Flo wasnt commentating MMA Live. HAHA

Off topic, but I heard Money Mayweather may be fighting the Pacman/Hatton winner. Not a huge suprise, but I heard that they could be fighting on July 11th. Same as Affliction 3 and UFC 100. That would be interesting. Wonder who’s going to be promoting the fight?

Here’s a link:
http://www.fightopinion.com/2009/03/19/espn-floyd-mayweather-vs-ufc-100-head-to-head-on-711/
This could be bad news for the UFC…Mayweather is the king of PPVs.
by RealDrew on Mar 19, 2009 6:26 PM EDT up reply actions
Mayweather/Paquiao is frigging boxing fan’s dream.
Hatton will get destroyed May 2nd.
by Jeremyjackson on Mar 19, 2009 6:27 PM EDT up reply actions
agreed and if so that will dent ufc 100’s sales. theres plenty of fans who’d love to see that one and paquiao and mayweather are the two biggest draws right now in boxing
by Jared on Mar 19, 2009 6:45 PM EDT up reply actions
Holy crap would I love to see Gayweather get brutally KO’d. And Pac is the only guy with any chance of doing just that.
by Jeremyjackson on Mar 19, 2009 7:09 PM EDT up reply actions
True that Jeremyjackson! Pacman is the only boxer right now capable of hanging with Floyd. And I’m sure Pacman will be a big underdog[like in the Dela hoya fight]so place all bets on Pacman please!

who the F cares about the UFC’s sales? those F’ers make enough money. Dana and Lorenzo wont be starving anytime soon. Bring on Mayweather…I could care less if the UFC doesnt rake in billions at every single event.
by john on Mar 20, 2009 8:59 AM EDT up reply actions
I thought you were going to work for those F’ers, F’er.
by RedDog on Mar 20, 2009 11:35 AM EDT up reply actions
as of now I am just a fan! If I ever become lucky enough to work for Zuffa, it wont ever be to the point that their profits affect my salary anyway! on top of that, the UFC is always going to make millions of dollars in profit through out the course of a year…I could care less if they dont make a killing on 1 of there 20 something events per year!
by john on Mar 20, 2009 12:43 PM EDT up reply actions
Syd! No doubt I would bet money on Pacman! I would bet Pacman if he were the favorite, so you know I am going to enjoy him as an underdog!

Frankly I, and I may be the only one, would like to see this resolved with a rematch. It’s the only way BJ will either A. be happy, or B. Shut the fuck up and admit he got beat.
by VNDK8 on Mar 19, 2009 5:49 PM EDT reply actions
Personally i think BJ is a good lightweight, but dont understand why he got a shot at the WW belt he lost his last 2 fights at WW before the gsp match. I think a rematch would go alot like the last fight but you never know.
by jess on Mar 19, 2009 7:03 PM EDT up reply actions
I know.
Everyone knows.
And BJ most certainly knows.
Penn doesn’t really want a rematch with GSP. He knows damn well that will never happen. He wants to try to tarnish GSP’s victory and scratch a loss off his own record. He would quit like a bitch again and again.

arlovski and sylvia???? intresting to hear alot of forums and sites are reporting that tim sylvia and wwf superstar kane got into a scuffle resulting in a broken nose for timmy, not sure how credible but it is making the rounds!!

Didn’t Bonner test positive for Steroids after his 2006 re-match with Forrest? Why wasn’t his name on that graphic?
by natureboy on Mar 19, 2009 6:06 PM EDT reply actions
BJ Penn is ruining his reputation. His lawyer is “laughing all the way to the bank”. Bonnar is wrong about GSP – there was absolutely no reason for him to show up at the “dog and pony show”. Where is DW on this whole distraction?
by Muscle Dolphin on Mar 19, 2009 6:45 PM EDT reply actions
Penn shouldn’t have even made a complaint the only way he coulda won is if GSP was stuid enough to make a video showing him say hmmmm how about you guys grease me up, honestly it makes penn look like a cry baby and then you have guys like sherk and hughes who also got smashed by GSP saying well he did feel greased up and sherk remembered this after 4 years wow he must really have a great memory sherk and bj should never have faught at WW, GSP is the most dominent fighter along with anderson silva when GSP wins his next fight i’d hope to see a number 1 P4P fight anderson silva vs GSP
by kingkong on Mar 19, 2009 7:32 PM EDT reply actions
Worse thing is that his mother also stood up to defend him and stated that GSP should be penalized to the limit. Like mother like son…..

I knew Marquardt was on steroids just wasn’t sure he had been caught, good to see his name there.. the Greg Jackson and ATT guys are dirty!

Bonnar appears to be a BJ fan.
Funny nobody on that panel called out BJ for his lack of class.

I want to see a GSP-Crybaby rematch….hell, yes, put a shirt on GSP if you want….but let’s do it under special rules…no cornermen allowed to stop the fight, no medical stoppage either…only knockout (out cold, only) or tapout allowed to stop it…no time limit.
I want Crybaby in a hospital crying about how unfair it was for him to fight GSP because…it rained in Brazil that week, or whatever excuse he has next time.
