Who does everybody think Anderson should face next (assuming he gets past Leites)?
by Ca$z on Mar 19, 2009 9:50 AM EDT reply actions
the winner of nate/okami at 185
GSP first if he gets by Alves
but anyways i hope it goes at least 3 rounds.

Okami if he wins so we can stop talking about it…then winner of Maia/Nate if they fight, or winner of Hendo/Bisping

I found a pre-workout product from MuscleTech called Myoshock that is really good. I have competed in powerlifting for a year now, and have worked for nutrition companies for about 10 years. Normally I hate Muscletech (too expensive, too much hype for mostly basic products) but this product is really good. You feel it about 20 minutes after taking it and it really improves strength.

Any suggestions for pre-workout supplements with little or no caffeine? I’ve tried too many things to mention and I hate having the jitters or that feeling they give you where you feel like bouncing off the walls.
I normally eat a small amount of protein and some complex carbs an hour before a work out. It gives me great stamina and energy but I’d rather something a little quicker and easier to prepare and consume.

Dymatize X-pand.
And yeah, caffeine loaded pre-workout supplements are garbage.

Dymatize X-Pand? 1st time I’ve come across that name. I’ll look into it and let you know. THanks for the tip!

I think you set up the GSP Silva superfight at catchweight if both fighters are healthy. IMO, you have to put the big fights together sooner rather than later b/c there’s a million things that could prevent it in the future, i.e. injuries, contract disputes, one of loses via upset, etc.

IMO GSP needs to defend his a title a few more times.. before trying to ring Silva’s door bell.
by PhilQNY on Mar 19, 2009 12:17 PM EDT up reply actions
I agree with Phil. GSP has yet to settle in to his role as champ and needs to be focused on solidifying his legacy at 170 before worrying about jumping weight classes. I hope he’s able to look at that scenario through BJ’s eyes and learn the lesson through him.
by Machine on Mar 19, 2009 5:02 PM EDT up reply actions
He should face Okami.. but will face the winner of the Henderson/Bisping fight.

This is going to be one easy day at the office for the Spider. What a crappy main event!
by Caknakker on Mar 19, 2009 9:51 AM EDT reply actions
Nah it won’t be an easy day at all. Anderson brings much more skill to the cage and should win but Thales is no slouch. I dont think he earned a shot but hey, in the ufc, who really ever does, right?

I think Leites is about as tough if not more tough than Patrick Cote as far as being able to absorb punishment. I say this fight goes past the second round.
by Ballam86 on Mar 19, 2009 10:04 AM EDT reply actions
I can’t give Cote much credit.. The fight ended with him grabbing his own knee and falling to the canvas; if Leites is just as tough then the only question here is, how is he going to TKO himself out of this fight??
by O damn he got caught on Mar 19, 2009 10:07 AM EDT up reply actions
I don’t know why everybody down on this fight with Leites. I expect this to be his toughest fight in the UFC and wouldn’t be completely shocked to see Leites pull off some sort of sub. Anyone who can continue after that illegeal knee is tough as sh*t. Even if Anderson destroys him it is always a pleasure just to see him in the Octagon.

John, you typed BNF as your name by mistake….lol
by Ca$z on Mar 19, 2009 10:18 AM EDT up reply actions
LOL! Ca$z I was thinking the same fn thing. HAHAHA
by BOW on Mar 19, 2009 10:35 AM EDT up reply actions
John is a smart man then… It’s funny how sometimes we agree completely and other times I want to punch him through the screen. :)
by BNF on Mar 19, 2009 10:43 AM EDT up reply actions
I been telling you guys all week that this will be silva’s toughest fight…some of you guys just font want to hear that from me…Is it more acceptable now that BNF posted it?
by john on Mar 19, 2009 11:38 AM EDT up reply actions
I’m just gonna have to see it to believe, I don’t think there’s anyone that can convince me Leites is going to give Silva a run for his money before this fight goes down.
by O damn he got caught on Mar 19, 2009 11:45 AM EDT up reply actions
I just can’t believe more people don’t feel the same way. He may not be the clear cut #1 contender, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t deserve to be in the cage with Anderson.
by BNF on Mar 19, 2009 11:50 AM EDT up reply actions
For me it’s just like his fight with Cote, I didn’t give Patrick a shot either; but when he fought Franklin the 2nd time and Hendo I was actually picking against him in those bouts. I’ll be rooting for A. Silva come fight night; he’s finished off at least 3 fighters now that I can’t stand (Lutter, Leben, Cote) which really boosted his likeability for me; and Leites just hasn’t done enough imo to impress me.
by O damn he got caught on Mar 19, 2009 12:54 PM EDT up reply actions
BNF: have you been quoting me? lol..just teasing, but word for word, I wrote the same exact things earlier this week…
Its sad that people dont give thales the respect that he deserves! He is easily a top 5 mw, who after that gutsy performance against Nate, DESERVES his shot at the title. Many fighters would have taken the easy way out after that illegal knee, and took the DQ win….that thought didnt cross thales’s mind for a second…he seemed like he was willing to die in there…Fought like a true warrior!
People should be excited about this fight. Its the first legit fight Anderson will be in, in over a year…te Cote fight was a travesty, and do I really have to re-state what he did to Irvin? call that a fight if you want! Its been over a year since Anderson has been in a real fight, and I am very excited that he will finally be tested again.
Im picking Silva, hands down…but I wont be shocked at all if tHales were to pull off a submission win. I will probably throw thales on 1 end of a low budget parlay!
by john on Mar 19, 2009 6:17 PM EDT up reply actions
I think he should face Yushin Okami. Okami’s only lost once to Rich Franklin and that was a pretty close fight. I know alot of people are saying Demian, but he hasn’t fought nearly as long in the ufc as Okami. Plus okami still has that technical win over anderson and they could play that up. After Okami, Demian should fight marquart for #1 contender.
by Mattchupichu on Mar 19, 2009 10:11 AM EDT reply actions
Plus Marquart already had his title shot and he lost in the 1st. That’s why I don’t think he should fight Okami for #1 contender. Bisbing hasn’t had enough matches at 185 yet and I don’t think he has any chance against Hendo who has already had his shot and also lost.
by Mattchupichu on Mar 19, 2009 10:14 AM EDT reply actions
I am tipping Leites for an upset TKO via ground and pound or submission from the top position.
by DownUnder on Mar 19, 2009 10:39 AM EDT reply actions
The UFC have allready said that Hendo and Bisping are fighting to be the No1 contender.
the winner of there match will face Silva.
the only other match for silva is GSP and I dont see that hapening this year.
side note on silva’s interviews – I get it, your really really really gratefull for everything you have in life. now please just tell me who the next guy your going to KTFO is..lol

FORREST GRIFFIN VS THIAGO SILVA
UFC 101
CANT WAIT!!!!!!
by josh on Mar 19, 2009 10:51 AM EDT reply actions
I’ll be rooting for Silva, but I think Forrest is going to outwork him; both coming off loss’s where they got stopped though, could be somewhat timid at the onset of the match. Forrest will probably come in as the betting favorite here as well; hate to say it but honestly in this match up, the smart money is on Griffin.
by O damn he got caught on Mar 19, 2009 11:00 AM EDT up reply actions
If it goes to the ground Thiago will win. Lyoto Machida didn’t want anything to do with him on the floor, thats saying something. I remember Thiago calling out Lyoto to the floor. I said it before Griffin needs to keep it standing to secure a win. Unless Thiago works on his striking he will never be a champ.
by danny_c on Mar 19, 2009 11:44 AM EDT reply actions
Yup and while he was calling him out to the floor, Lyoto punched out his lights…
IF Thiago gets Griffin to the floor, it will be a GnP victory.
Thiago FTW.
by OJR on Mar 19, 2009 12:13 PM EDT up reply actions
He deserved to get his lights punch out that dumbass did even try to cover up when he landed and no upkick attempts.
Im still a big Thiago, i hope that the loss to Machida will make him regain his thoughst and train harder an better.
