Junie can beat Cole Kev. Retarded or not, if he has improved even more since we saw him last, he has a good shot. If his cardio allows him to push the pace for 3 rounds, I give it to Junie. I won’t say I like him, but I enjoyed watching him fight last time.

Junies all saying he’s the main event and all that. I kinda laugh at him and say whatever. I like watching him, because I thnk hes got potential, but I dont think he gets by Cole. Cole will have a huge reach and an advantage in both the striking and the jits. Junie may have the better wrestling, but thats about it. I’d say Cole could win a decision, or submit him.

Oh he’ll go far all right… all the way back to the trailer park!

Am I the only one who doens’t give a sh*t about Junie…

Oh Kevin.. whats going on here? How can you possibly repsect a Diaz but hate on Junie. Its like the same dude. At least you dont hear Junie out there talking shit. He was very respectful and honest. He seemed very grounded and headed in the right direction.
Dont think Im trying to single you out but damn bro. It seems like everyone on this site is so inconsistent with their posts. Do I think Junie is the best? No way. Do I think he deserves respect? Yes I do. He is obviously trying to get away from the image that he made for himself on TUF. You got to give the guy a chance. He is a naturally good fighter that has the makings to be a force in the division. He is now training with one of the best camps to date. If he keeps his head up and stays out of trouble, there is no telling how far this kid can go.
I liked how he used the term “keyboard warrior” hahaha, he must have meant this site!
by enzo-enormous on Mar 13, 2009 11:47 AM EDT up reply actions
It has not been reported whether Nick assaulted people outside of the octogan. Junie did and it was filmed.
That may be the difference. Just an opinion from a keyboard warrior…

The Diaz brothers may talk trash, but they have earned the right to by their performances in the ring over the years. Junie is a self-promoting lout with myriad personal problems that he foists on others with his antisocial behavior and who has accomplished nothing in the ring. So it is possible, likely even, for someone to be a Diaz fan and a Junie basher.
by PW on Mar 13, 2009 12:57 PM EDT up reply actions
chill out guys. No one is going to mistake Junie for a humanitarian of the year award candidate, but he is a young, well rounded fighter, who is training at a top notch camp. No doubt in my mind that he is a born fighter. Once he gets seasoned, he may make an impact, but that is still at least a couple of years away.
Cole is a tough guy. This match up is interesting. I can see these 2 going to war for a fight of the night candidate.

Dave-
Can’t speak for anybody else but the fact that Junie assaulted his fellow cast members and that whole jumping into the octagon thing after Efrain won…
I “reality TV” skews people into good guy, bad guy, etc but it turned me off.
Besides, Junie did not impress. Bottom line. Hopefully, he can prove his doubters wrong.
by OJR on Mar 13, 2009 11:28 AM EDT up reply actions
He better be brushing up on his grounds skills cause Cole should take him down and choke him out.

Are any of my fellow Canadian (or American) Maniacs goin to UFC 97?? I just got tickets on e-bay last night!!!
by McArthur on Mar 13, 2009 9:54 AM EDT up reply actions
No man I wont be going, I live out West and am a little pissed that Dana wont step foot out of Ontario or Quebec. Besides I have 4 kids which includes one brand new baby so I would be hooped regardless.

good for you mcArthur. I am not being sacrastic, I mean that. I enjoy your posts, you know mma. You might have fun from time to time and take a crack at someone, but never in a mean spirited way like many of the trolls on this site have been doing recently.
Enjoy the event. Its an amazing card. Probably the best UFC card outside of the USA to date. If Shogun is in shape, this event will be Phenomenal. an in shape Shogun vs. Chuck is a dream match that I have wanted to see for a very long time. Hopefully wandy’s genius trainer, alejandro has whipped Shogun into shape.
Also, you guys better stop down playing the thales Leites/Silva match up. Majority of this site thinks Silva will just blow through THales. I think its a tougher fight for Silva than many of you seem to think. Put it to you this way. Anderson hasnt faced anyone good in oVER A YEAR. Last meaningful fight he had was Hendo last march. Thales deserves to fight for the title. He may not be the true #1 contender, but he is a top 5 UFC MW for sure.
There is no question that silva edeserves to be a big favorite, but I think THales will pose problems. Thales has spent a lot of time training for this fight over at Arizona Combat, with a lot of great wrestlers like Bader and Dollaway. I just read a new Bader interview and he talks glowingly about tHales’s skills and his new improved wrestling. If thales gets Silva on the ground it could be trouble. Lutter and Hendo took silva down, but thales is on a different level in the ground game. I hope that Anderson is working on tD defense and on defending an arm triangle, because THales is no slouch. Marquardt hit him with everything including all types of illegal strikes and thales continued to press forward. I think the world of Marquardt and I became a fan of Leites after that fight.
You dont have to answer this question, but just out of curiosity, how much did tickets cost you on e-bay?

Cheers Dave!! i got 2 tics for $600 Can. They are floor seats but I haven’t picked them up yet. I’ll let ya know where the seats are when I get em. I was at GSP/Serra as well and it was crazy!!!
Spyder – i have a little on the way too by end of the summer but have somehow convinced Sara to let me go without her…its not what you ask permission to do, its when you ask it. haha…I’d be willing to bet Vancouver will have UFC before Toronto will…i’m in S Ontario so Montreal is still 5-6hrs away at least on a Saturday!
by McArthur on Mar 13, 2009 11:17 AM EDT up reply actions
THanks man. $600 bucks for 2 floor seats seems like a great deal to me. Enjoy the event.

PW-
Your roller disco midget story was very funny.
I went to the gym yesterday and saw a kind of chunky gym rat wear a really tight, white, see-through underarmour (label?) shirt. Dude was as hairy as a sasquatch.
I don’t know why but I saw him and thought of your story at the same time.
It broke up my set and I had to walk off and laugh for about a good 2-3 minutes.
:)

I hope “mangrino” (I think that’s his nick name) tears Junie limb from limb. What will he do when there is no glass to throw at someone?

Cole Miller is going to choke him out… I predict Arm Triangle in R3.

It’s Nap Time Junie!!!!
Cole – Triangle 2nd rd.
by JimmieGreens on Mar 13, 2009 11:23 AM EDT reply actions
If Cole gets caught he can be stopped, I just think he has to much skill for Junie to deal with. Junie has proven that his cardio is suspect and when he gets in there with a good ground guy he is toast. Besides that he is kinda the guy you want to see get KO’D….lol or is that just me lol!!!!
by the spyder on Mar 13, 2009 11:38 AM EDT reply actions
Well said… and yes if he lose it’s superb… hopefully with lots of blood and a brutal KO that sends him home on a stretcher.

I don’t know how Junie can say he is the toughest guy Cole has fought, he doesn’t come close to a Jorge Gurgel, Leonard Garcia, Joe Lauzon, or Jeremy Stephens.
by E30kaiser on Mar 13, 2009 2:57 PM EDT reply actions
Exact… allt of them are light years better than Junie.
by JonnyBoy on Mar 13, 2009 4:13 PM EDT up reply actions
I reallu like Junie…he was a punk at times on the show, but from the first time i saw him fight in his scrap to get into the house i liked his style…hes tough and this interview shows that he really isnt the punkass he came out to be on the show. Hes obviously taking his training seriously and you can tell that camp is doing alot of good things for him, i really hope to see him do well. Im def. a fan…..Good luck Junie…go for the KO. JEA!!

why the fuck do people hate junie, he made tuf entertaining and i’m sure all of u guys liked watching his antics and watching his fights, plus he is a good fighter and kicked dave kaplan’s ass, hope he destroys cole miller.

Nah his constant trying to give up got on my nerves. Plus seeing him keep getting away with stupid stuff makes me wonder what he has on Dana.
by ognitinoc on Mar 14, 2009 12:11 AM EDT up reply actions
Speak for yourself, he was not entertaining as much as I thought he was a total goof. I still cant believe that Dana lets his guys act like that on TV. Any other legitimate sport would have tossed him and the others that were eating Sperm etc. One more show like that and I was done watching, I thought it was sickening and cant believe Dana wants guys like him promoting the fight game. Watching those clowns on TV will hurt the sport more than help it.
