Yeah Randy is going to smash his face in to Nogs fist, randy is done, his time is over there junior varsity.

“junior varsity” thats funny. JV is my initials. Is it like Nog smashing his face into Mirs fists?

I would like to know what in Randy’s career tells people that he is done,he gets beat by Brock Lesnar, and he is done. Now if he goes out and gets destroyed by Nog,then I will agree, but as of right now people are way to quick to write someone off.Just a few months ago everybody was writing off Nog.

Randy was doing really well in his fight with Brock! He is NOT done at all! If you think he is,you know nothing about Randy or MMA! Randy beats Nog via ground and pound!

If it’s foolish to say Randy’s done after losing to Brock then it’s just as foolish to say the same about Nog, right?
If you’ve seen at least 3 of Nog’s pre-UFC fights in their ENTIRETY you wouldn’t have counted him out against Mir, Randy or anyone else.
Personally, I’ll need to see Nog look bad in at least 2 more fights before I’ll concede he’s on his way out.

Tex,
Just to let you know staph is no joke. I had staph and it put me in the ER. Don’t know how bad Nog’s case was, but staph can and will wear you out.
by Jeff on Mar 9, 2009 10:05 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
yeh forreal. i mean i think mir wouldve won anyway, but the fight w/o a doubt could have been different. you can die from staph, that shits serious
by phil on Mar 9, 2009 11:38 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
He should not have been fighting then.
He looked just as bad as he has previously.
by Jon on Mar 10, 2009 7:57 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
no not close to as bad, and as soon as he got into the ring i could not beleave how out of shape he was i have never seen him look like that.
by roy on Mar 10, 2009 11:07 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
listen..if his staph was very bad..no way in hell would he have passed a physical..or the bloodwork. it`s an excuse… the Brazilian camps always have them…why act suprised.

War Big Nog. Couture-just make sure to sign the damn contract.
by NameNotRequired on Mar 9, 2009 7:42 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Couture was the first to agree NNR. So lets hope that Nog doesnt get scared and signs.
by JV on Mar 9, 2009 7:45 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Yea right, Nog has been calling him out for years. But man, he doesn’t look right in the vid. He will be on form though, no doubt.
by NameNotRequired on Mar 9, 2009 7:53 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
If Nog was calling him out for years, then why didnt he sign with the UFC sooner? Its easy to call someone out from another Org. Just look at Sheilds and Cung Le!

He was too busy beating up top 10 HW in the more relevant organization.
by NameNotRequired on Mar 9, 2009 9:46 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
who was top 10 he was beating up? didnt fedor walk through him? the only other legit top10 he beat was barnett and cro cop, randy beat up guys in 2 weight classes during that sametime including chuck lidell, tito ortiz, vitor belfort, tim sylvia, and gabe gonzaga hows that for a resume during the time? sure nog came in and beat sylvia but not without a really shitty fight on his part, same with herring..
nog didn’t fight top competition in pride often and when he did he struggled
by randy murders on Mar 10, 2009 4:06 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
wow: randy murders…..so you are more impressed with Randy beating up lil LHW’s than what Nog was doing in Pride, which let me remind you…Pride had a real Hw division. People are quick to forget how good herrimg was back then…Herring was a top 5 HW at the time…..Bob Sapp isnt a cakewalk. Im not so sure Randy could have survived sapp….Cro Cop win was the most impressive win of his career. That was a great fight.
I think Nog is going to submit Randy. Randy has an advantage in the clinch, but I think Nog is better everywhere else.
by DAVE on Mar 10, 2009 9:28 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
So randy is impressive for beating up smaller opponents? Let’s look at his HW losses – Inoue, Ricco, Barnett, Overeem, Illoukine. Nog has beaten up all of them but mikail. You can claim that his ricco and barnett fights were close but those two smashed couture to eternity. Their careers evolved side by side and Big Nog won against everyone except fedor while Couture was winning some and losing some. So across time comparing their skillsets growth, Big Nog simply performed better, there is not other way to put it.
by NameNotRequired on Mar 10, 2009 7:25 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
youre a fool…and know nothing about the mikail fight if you think that was a loss….the dude submitted randy during a ref break for a re-start….
by tex_mex on Mar 10, 2009 9:32 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Where did i talk about the mikhail fight? I know that the fight was restarted in an almost kimura position when they almost went under the ropes but so what. Nog has never faced him no performance comparison there.
by NameNotRequired on Mar 10, 2009 10:09 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
actually a comment to the guy under. Couture had turned the Nog fight down 2 different times when Nog accepted it. Thats why he said Couture better sign because he has ducked the fight
by erickeown on Mar 11, 2009 10:29 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
I think lil Nog would beat Randy, so I’m saying Big Nog via submission in the 2nd or 3rd round. Randy’s a good wrestler and great fight tactician, but I think Nogueira will looking to silence any critics after that Mir fight (he looked Paulo Filho messed up in that fight).
by Belisarius on Mar 9, 2009 8:05 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Randy would kill lil Nog,he just might beat his brother which is the better one
by scott on Mar 9, 2009 8:13 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Lets be real. There is no reason to say that Randy is done. There is a possibility that he lost a little speed but thats it. He hasnt looked bad… ever, really. Thats just crazy.
Nog looked horrible against Mir. I dont care what any of you say, Nog has never been good at dodging a punch or kick. Seriously. If Randy starts throwing some good straight punches while moving to the sides… Nog is in for a world of hurt. Nogs only chance is to take Randy down and submit him. I like both of these guys, but being totally un-biased, I see Nog losing again. On the other side, I will also say, that Nog will have 3 full rounds to submit Randy. I see Randy teeing off on Nog all night, but I dont see him finishing him. Yeah, Nog had staph. I agree, that sucks, and you wont have as much energy, but Nog looked winded before he even threw a punch. Ive had staph before, I know exactly what its like. There is no reason he should have been that tired that early. He simply got rocked early and wasnt able to recover before he got rocked again. The real deal?… he got beat up.
Randy looked good against Lesnar. He was doing well, he cut Lesnar, got a good takedown, did some good dirty boxing on the inside, but he got caught by a hamhock. I dont see too many people that are going to be able to take a solid punch to the face from one of those things without going down.
Thats my piece. Dont count Randy out. It all depends on who comes to fight their fight. I see it as Randy by decision.

randy will beat nog, the time that nog spent in pride has taken its toll, he is beat up, a nice guy and a class act , but beat up, coture will move nog to into positions that nog will try to counter and run out of steam, coture in the late second round, tko. hows that for calling a definitive result. all you “intelligent” mma guys who say coture is washed up ,give some concrete , valid reasons, not just because you like nog better.bring more to the table fellows.

Excuses, excuses…Nog, everyone fights with problems. Mir royally kicked your butt just face up to it.
by CaptainAmerica1967 on Mar 9, 2009 8:53 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Big Nog’s head is still at UFC 92 and his loss to Mir. If he dwells on it, Randy will capitalize. I think it’s a great matchup. Randy is a smart fighter and won’t get easily caught. Nog is just as smart and has less to worry about in the Knockout department. However, if Randy is able to press him against the cage, Nog is going to have troubles. The last 3 fights for Nog have been lackluster. The punching bag technique won’t work against Randy like it did against Tim.

While we’re on the topic of Arnold, doesn’t that Nog screen shot look like that scene from True Lies when he’s in the hotel trying to seduce Jamie Lee Curtis?

I think mir showed how to beat him knock him down let him get up do it a couple of times till he is done becouse if you knock him down and jump on him he will pull guard and submit you his done it plenty of times

Randy’s standup is the key in this fight, nog looked like shit in the mir fight………..

Never thought i’d see the day when Nog would be making excuses like he’s BJ Penn it’s pathetic and embarrasing. I’ll look forward to seeing Randy smash him into oblivion like Mir did at UFC 92, like I said to BJ after he lost take your loss like a man and leave the excuses to the fanatics.

I’m a fan of Nog’s, but I would rather see him turn down a fight or back out than make an excuse afterwards. I lost money on Nog because Mir was a much better fighter that night.

i like them both but ppl who think nog will sub randy have to be delusional. randy is no joke and will out work nog and win via ref stoppage kinda like mir did only it’ll be on the ground
