Rampage is the greatest personality in the sport!

He delivered another CLASSIC quote at the press conference. Check it out:

“Y’all don’t even know. I got a bunch of Asian girls waiting for me. Damn! I was going to see which one I was going to take with me on a little getaway. Fly first class, talk about how I’m going to be UFC champion again. Get a private hut somewhere. All that just shattered cause somebody got their damn knee scoped.”

Talking about having to fight so soon, because Mir got hurt and they need a main event

Machida must be sitting in anticipation now because his shot is still possible. I wanna see Machida-Evans then Machida Rampage. Then again that’s sacrificing Evans Rampage. God this sucks so many good fights.

Apparently Forrest was going get the loser of Page/Jardine, so at UFC 101 the co main event will be Forrest vs Jardine. Sometime in August. Main Event be Bj/FLorian?

Rampage and Rashad will sill happen just not untill end of summer…..I think it’s silly to rush Rampage he sounded like he was pretty banged up….why fight at less than 100%? than again the fight would be sick and 2 months is a good amount of time…what do you guys think?

by Robert(1) on Mar 8, 2009 6:28 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I dont think Rampage should take the fight, but I think he will anyway!

Thats exactly why they need to do something like a 8 count to eliminate these sorry lame overpriced early stoppages of fights. On a flash knockdown give a guy an 8 count only one per round and if the fighter gets in trouble again after that count its over. Considering the amount of money these freaking ppv’s cost there really needs to be something of that sort done I mean "look at all the hard training time travel and everything else Dana mentions above at his little press conference i think that would only be the fair thing to do for the fighters as well as the paying public!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And yes most refs suck however none suck as bad as the NBA refs/D. Stern puppets!

by maniamaster on Mar 8, 2009 8:15 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

nooooo, if Rampage has good people around him then there is noway he accepts this fight that early! a dislocated jaw is serious business when everyone of your fights are that important.. Maybe you guys didn’t notice this one, but it’s so unproffessional of Dana to ask him if he wanted to take the fight against Rashad on may 23d and doing it infront of all the cameras and put it on his videoblog.. I’m 100% sure that he did that to put f’in pressure on Rampage and his guys to accept that fight may 23rd, cause there is gonna be alot of “not so intelligent” fans calling him a coward and nonsense which is gonna put even more pressure on him to accept the fight!

by RoB on Mar 9, 2009 5:49 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

he also arranged that Rashad thing with him coming into the octagon after the fight making Rampage even more pissed off, for Rampage to just come out with a YES i’ll take that fight right away!

by RoB on Mar 9, 2009 5:51 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

HAHAHA.. in between the 2-3 round they said Jardine hurt him with something and they couldn’t see what it was, he kicked him in the balls! and couldn’t walk straight for about 30 sec so Jardine could unload.. Octagon control in the 1st round def went to Rampage, Jardine was exhausted from running in between every round..

by RoB on Mar 9, 2009 6:43 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I totally agree Rob! I also dont like it when Dana ask Page top take a fight as soon as he just got done winning and in front of the cameras.

Dana did the same thing to shogun after the coleman fight!

Did you guys hear about what matt Serra did? Coolest thing I have ever heard!

A blogger was listening to Goldy and hughes promoting the Serra/Hughes fight and they were saying how Serra deoesnt stand a chance. This blogger went on Serra’s website to tell Serra what was being said about him and to show Serra his support….the fan then left his phone number.

The next day his phone rings and he got a call from Matt Serra. Serra stayed on the phone wityh him for about 20 minutes…just letting a fan know that he appreciates him and talking about upcoming fights as well as the dRago/Brown outcome.

This has got to be one of the coolest fighter stories EVER! Props to serra…I hear he was very cool, down to earth, and easy to talk to!

I think it was a great story!

The “greatest personality in the sport!” is a criminal who crashed into a woman so that her unborn child died, and then got off with no absolutely no repercussions. And to top it off was laughing about it just a few weeks later like nothing happend.

OMG Lester- First off you just lost all your “Pimp Cred” by being so damn Sensitive. Lets just get that out of the way right now. Now I am no Rampage Nut swinger like John and I personally think he tries WAY to hard to be funny and fresh or whatever but I must say you are holding a grudge for the wrong reasons. Let it go!

Your the type of person who would be star struck if you saw a celebrity and go grovel at their feet. Be a man John, have some dignity for Christ’ Sake and dont act like a school girl with a crush! I was only Joking ! But now, you have awaken a MONSTER!!!! Get off my nuts… Big difference between me and you….. You are fully aware of my post and my mma knowledge….you on the other hand aren’t even a blip on the radar….Only time 1 of your post gets noticed is when you attack someone personally! Try using knowledge to get noticed instead of childish pot shots!

by john on Mar 9, 2009 7:48 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

All I know about your mma knowledge is that when Rampage or one of your other crushes says something in the press you get all wet over it and copy and paste it. Your no Rogan, you just look stuff up on web sites and repeat what you heard on other websites. You think your a king and a monster, but I dont give a F*ck- All you do is post more often than everyone else, so that makes you a scary monster?? The guy that posted under me last time nailed it. you need to check the ego (the only thing monster about you) and stick to the copy and paste trick. I have been coming to this website well before they made the switch from UFCMania and back then there was a similar As*hole calling himself MoreThanUFC- very similar to yourself- posted way more than anyone else and thought it made him somehow bad*ss. GET A F*CKING LIFE JOHN!!!!!!!!!
by the way my “awakening a monster in you” is in no way scary or intimidating or whatever your goal was with that, So take a step back and LITERALLY F*CK YOUR OWN FACE!

i dont think rampage-rashad will happen for ufc 98, i think its to soon for rampage and i think he feels quite burned out after training for this fight and the wandi fight. if it did happen i think rampage could get the the tko, if you look at the fight beween rashad and jardine on tuf, jardine dropped him pretty good and between jardine and rampage i’m guessing rampage is the harder hitter, if he catches rashad he’s gonna be rocked. i can see machida getting the next shot now and i’ll be very supprised if rampage takes the fight so soon. between rashad-machida i think rashad has the better chance of winning but i really dont think it would be the most exciting fight.

Rampage is the MAN! Nuf said about that!

Im about to go on 1 of my Dana white Rants! The guy is trashing 90% of the ref’s in the business yet he continues to allow one of his petty beefs to get in the way of good business. You want some good refereeing Dana? Bring back big John mcCarthy!!!! The man has refereed about 500 fights and all the biggest fights in the history of american mma and no one can even recall him messing up any fights!

Yeah, yeah, i know that Big J, ran his mouth a little when he was working with the fight network…so what? Get the F over it! Bring back Big John and stop cheating the sport, its fighters and its fans out of the best possible product!

word.

I think after Yve Lavinge’s loss tonight Herb Dean moves up to #2 in terms of best ref.

1. Big John
2. Herb Dean
3. Mario Yamasaki
4. Yve Lavinge

What yall think?

by Brandon on Mar 8, 2009 6:10 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I think Yamasaki is under rated. Controversey doesn’t tend to follow him. Herb Dean has had the Marquardt vs Leitis point deductions that and a bunch of early stopages. I’d switch Yamasaki and Dean.

by DB on Mar 8, 2009 6:22 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

There was Yamasaki’s performance in Couture vs Lesnar. I thought it was fine but Dana was dogging on him for a late stoppage.

At least we can agree on Dan Mirgliotta is nowhere near the top, although I think he got a good stoppage against Gonzaga yesterday, saving him a few extra bombs to the head.

by Brandon on Mar 8, 2009 6:30 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Yamasaki seems way too small and not as quick to stop it. like, he doesn’t rush in there and tackle people out the way like Big John and Herb does. Like hes scared or something. Just watched the Brock/Randy stoppage. He was like tapping on Brock almost as if asking him, “Hey you can stop now if you want. Please stop. Now” lol.

Actually the only bogus call I think he’s made that comes to mind was Liddell/Ortiz 2. Other than that, Mario is cool!

But I think Herb is the best

by Synyster on Mar 8, 2009 6:45 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Its:

1)Big John (hELLo! he is still the best, but he is on Dana’s sh*t list…its not like he is retired!

2) Yuji Shimatta

3)Herb Dean

4) Yammasaki

by john on Mar 8, 2009 6:48 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Big John is the most consistent and accurate ref ever and I very rarely disagree with his decisions plus he takes great control of any situation. Turdliotta is a wanna be Big John and although he has been better lately he loves an early stoppage!

by Tim D on Mar 8, 2009 11:06 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

As far as I know, it’s the athletic commission that assigns the refs and that’s why big john hasnt been back. It’s also why they have some awful local referees when they go to unusual places.

This is correct!

by fokman on Mar 8, 2009 8:50 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

that is true, but UFC can determine if a ref is allowed to do their shows.Big John said that himself it is up to the CSAC and UFC if he does a UFC event

by scott on Mar 8, 2009 11:32 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

BNOth the Athletic commission and the UFC have to approve of an event. Athletic commissions have approved his reinstatement…its Dana thats keeping him out of the UFC!

Correction: Have to approve of a ref!

It’s the governing athletic commission who assign the refs, eg. NSAC, or CSAC, not Dana.

I really hope rampage doesn’t take teh fight. I think he has definitely over trained at this point he needs some time for his body to rest. Body just can’t been in fight shape for this long before it starts to break down. He really needs to take some time off work some technique stay in shape help out his team mates then get back into fight shape for a fight in the summer. I think if he takes the fight he is going to have a much tougher time with Rashad then he normally would

I hope rampage does not take the fight at UFC 98. Ideally, i would love to see Machida take on Evans at UFC 98. The winner of that, should comeright back at defend in at UFC 100 in July. Yeah its 2 months apart. But damn ,they want rampage too fight after he jouss fought and want him to fight in may. Not to mention ,he recently fought in December. I gaurantee youm if Rashad and Machida does happen at UFC 98 and Machida wins, Dana will want him to defend it right away agaisnt page at 100. That way, Machida doesnt hold on to the belt for too long.

Matt hamil vs Jon Jones at UFC 100 would be awesome.
Also Carwin vs Kongo at UFC 100
And Junior Dos Santos VS Gonzaga
UFC 100 has the potential to be remembered forever.
Anyone else got any other ideas for fights at UFC 100?
I think the first three fights the UFC picked are great.

its already:
Lesnar vs. Mir
GSP vs. Alves
Bisping vs. Henderson

I would like to see;
Jon Jones vs. Lyoto Machida (if he doesnt get the first crack at evans)
Carwin vs. Kongo
Nate Diaz vs. Mac Danzig
Jon Fitch vs. Dustin Hazlett
CB Dollaway vs. Kendall Grove

Yeah besides it’s not a fight that would really propel Machida further up the ranks, Machida might fight the winner of Lidell/Shogun at 100.

by JRE on Mar 8, 2009 11:30 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Jon Jones has fought twice in UFC,basically a rookie and you want to throw him against Machida. To me ,that would be spitting in Machida’s face.He is clearly the most technical fighter in UFC ,and you are wanting to treat him like a gate keeper

by scott on Mar 8, 2009 11:36 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Machida is number three fighting anyone besides Rampage and evan’s would not help his rankings. He might get the UFC 98 shot depending if Rampage decides to take the , if not he should pick another fight to keep on top of his game because when Rampage gets his belt back he should take at least a four month break.

Machida is far better than anyone at LHW. The only reason he didn’t become champ a long time ago is because most ufc fans are drunken rednecks who only want to see guys stand in the pocket and hit each other in the face until one falls down. It’s a crime Rampage is given a title shot ahead of Machida just because he yells out “BLACK ON BLACK CRIME LOL” for attention.

Guys it seems nobody has posted a comment on what it was that Carwin said under his breath at Dana as he walked off. I can’t quite make it out but it was some sort of profanity. He looked pissed off when he said it too. Does anyone know why he would be upset at Dana?

by Vulcano on Mar 9, 2009 11:02 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

damn that really does suck that he got thrown into such a fucked up position to take this fight so early…im an admitted rashad nuthugger..always have been, ever since the show…and im not a fan of rampage, never have been…and i want to see rashad crucify him like jesus….and then move on to fight machida who im also a self admitted nuthugger of…

but im also a true mma fan…and know what a great fight and the dollars it would create for the ufc to have rashad vs rampage…but rampage took a lot of punishment in the jardine fight and i sure as hell dont want him coming in at 70% fighting shad…i want to see them both at 100% cause there is just too much positive shit for both the ufc and mma in general…and it also connects with hardcore fans and the casual fans as well…

like most of you i would much rather see machida vs rashad…these 2 are the 2 best in the division by far…machida is the only 1 who is smart enough to figure out rashad…and i think rashad is the only one who has a chance of figuring out machida’s style..

these guys arent just simply fighters, they’re intelligent fighters…it will be a chess match…too bad that the casual fan cant appreciate machida and how skilled the dude truly is…fucking pisses me off when people call him boring…dude is fucking brilliant…rashad is too..cant wait to see them fight…

but id still like to see rampage first just so rashad could send him back down the ladder…cause anyone with a brain knows that he is too stupid to play chess with machida if he happened to beat rashad…which would never happen
