Rashad = Keith’s “blackup”

by Bill Maher on Mar 8, 2009 11:52 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

lol~ rashad is not used to smack talk…he sounded sooo soft when he was talking..shads already 0-1 with page on talk alone..

this fight will be a great fight..im going with rampage all the way..but i wouldnt be suprised if hashad pulls it out..

all in all~ last nights fights turned out pretty good..

i knew from the get go that hammil and maynard would not be the dogs to bet on~ and im glad i didnt wager any loot.

i did put some bread on carwin and it paid off well~ but my other hot~dog was doomsday~ and well..we all know what happened there..

while doomsday was doing everything he needed to do~ kendalls reach caught up to him~ and lights out..

also i knew hammil was going to win~ but dang!! headkick?? that was definitely worth ko of the night~ good for him..

and who would have thought u can knock someone out and then have the oportunity to have a second fight instantly??[bad refing]..

all in all~ good night of fights for a weak line-up.. but isnt that what always happens??

by stinky~fingers on Mar 8, 2009 1:46 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

sidenote~

i have been reading up some of the comments and i must say~

why are some peeps saying that jardine should have won that fight??

imo~ i had it scored 30-27 for page..

if jardine won any round it would be the 1st.. but i still dont see it..

jardine won about 45 seconds of the entire fight[thats it]..

say word~

by stinky~fingers on Mar 8, 2009 1:51 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

WORD!! everything Jardine threw in that first round was just a way to keep Rampage off of him, he threw it while he was moving backwards and that means it had no power as you all could see if you just opened your eyes..

by RoB on Mar 8, 2009 3:12 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

2nd round Rampage almost finished him, and 3d round the same with the knockdown he scored, he was winning that third round anyways!

by RoB on Mar 8, 2009 3:13 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Tito wasa in Columbus and hew said that he will be fighting In August…my guess is on the 3rd affliction card.

Matt Hughes is smoking crack again! He is considering moving up to middleweight…..I really hope he is stupid/cocky enough to do that…I want to see him get crushed by Middleweights like Leben or let Maia show him what ground game is all about!

If Page doesnt want to fight in May…Machida will step in and face Shad at UFC 98. page has a few days to decide but Machida has already been put on notice!

If Rampage comes to fight Rashad like he came out and fought last night…he’s going to have to throw his afterparty in the hospital cause he’s getting knocked out cold…believe it. That wasn’t a very impressive win at all for Page. Jardine was gassed in the 1st round and Page couldn’t finish him…props to Jardine on showing he has a decent chin despite the losses to Wandy and Alexander.

by Buster Bluth on Mar 8, 2009 4:01 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

It was 29-28. Peoples was on some of that Marion Barry shit last night.

There is no way Rampage beats Rashad. He couldnt even finish Jardine. I say Rashad KO 2nd or 3rd round.

If I was Jardine, I would want to fight Wandy again.

by El Mexicutioner, formerly The Mexicutioner on Mar 8, 2009 4:05 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I think Jardine and Thiago Silva need to throw down.

by RyanHobbs on Mar 8, 2009 5:30 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

F off! Jardine is a tough guy! Do you guys honestly believe that Rashad would have steam rolled Jardine last night? Jardine had a good gameplan and he came to fight! NO shame in Page’s performance if you ask me. Considering he has been steadily in camp preparing for fights since this past January. The man admitted to being a little over trained, and NO one even knew that his Jaw was messed up going into the wandy fight. guy is NOW a Dedicated WARRIOR and he should be praised instead of all the fickle nit-picking!

Let me tell you guys something about Rashad vs. Rampage match up!
Rampage has been hit way Harder then what Rashad will bring to the table, and I have seen Page’ weather those types of shots!

Can any of you actually honestly say that Rashad has EVER been hit as hard as Page has the potential of hitting him! If you say that he has then you guys are just fooling yourselves!

Not saying Page will walk through Rashad, but Page has fought much better fighters than shad Evans….and beat most of them!
And he has proven to have a granite chin that can take the most powerful strikes that the sport has to offer. I am sorry but I cant see that about Suga!

by john on Mar 8, 2009 5:35 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Thats actually a great idea RyanHobbs!

However, I would prefer THiago vs. Banha, after Banha destroys Cantwell at UFC 97. Banha and tHiago have legit BAD Blood between those 2, and I want to see them go at it!

If they dont want to match up Banha vs. THaigo I say book:
Thiago vs. Jardine
Banha vs. Vera

He was waiting to fight the loser of last night’s fight. Also ufc asked Ken-flo if he wanted to fight Diego while he waited for bj and he said no. Cote is trying to fight at the end of the summer and wants to fight Belcher or the winner of the Silva/Ace fight.

by ehoglund on Mar 8, 2009 8:42 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

john, much agreement. page has fought alot better competition than shad. rashad has only fought two good fighters in liddel and griffin. bisping is alright i guess but hammill kicked his ass worse than shad did.

i know i’m gonna get some good comments on this so let’s hear it.

Rampage is a legend, Rashad is a rookie in the spotlight that doesn’t know how to handle the business side of things, he takes everything way to personal.. disrespecting a legend is a big no-no!

So does anyone know about Jardine being signed to fight Forrest Griffen at 101?? is that true?

by JRE on Mar 8, 2009 12:41 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

i’ve not heard anything about this…. i got a question

what happens to gonzaga and carwin now??

does carwin wait for mir/brock or does he fight kongo for number 1 contender spot

and gonzaga? who does he fight next loser of mir/brock or is that to big of a fight for him yet (i mean should he have to start at the bottom again)

i dont see the point in him starting from the bottom because he is obviously destroying the cans but doesn’t do to well against good fighters

who is next for him? anyone got any idea?

by ufcaddict on Mar 8, 2009 12:58 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

In my opinion, going into last night the UFC had 4 stand out fighters in the heavyweight division . Carwin, Gonzaga, Valasquez, Dos Santos. And what I would have enjoyed would have been another mini tournament for the title shot. Carwin vs Gonzaga and Valasquez vs Dos Santos (even though I know the Herring fight is booked). If that had played out, then Gonzaga would likely fight the loser of Valasquez vs Dos Santos. However maybe he now fight the loser of Valasquez vs Herring.

by JRE on Mar 8, 2009 1:35 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

dos santos is a monster, carwin vs cigano would be nice

by c-war on Mar 8, 2009 12:25 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Rashad dresses well because he got that off GSP who’s in his camp and is the first mma fighter to always dress classy. Otherwise Rashad never used to. And yeah, it’s true Rashad is a cocky bastard, with a low-class attitude —his showboating during TUF and other fights, incl. his kiss my dick during his fight with Forrest says it all. He may try to be like his teammate GSP, but he’s no where near the gentleman that GSP is. However, I have to admit he is a great fighter. I don’t really care for him as a person (from what I see), but I can appreciate his skills. And I think Rampage is going to have a tough time beating him. In fact, I’d say Rashad will win this one. Rashad vs Machida would have been a more interesting fight, however, we’ll see it soon enough.

Looking forward to some black on black violence!

by Caknakker on Mar 8, 2009 12:42 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

you guys call that dressing well? he doesn’t even know how to wear a tie! Tie the tie right and look good, he looked like a guy trying to look good, but didn’t quite know how!

by kevin on Mar 8, 2009 1:23 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Haha Kevin I know exactly what you mean. And Yes GSP is the sole reason guys like Rashad and Cote have been seen in suits lately but Come ON Rashad who they hell tied your tie??? damn it was loose, That was a weak suit too, You can tell that Rashad has not been wearing a Suit and Tie very long.

by john on Mar 8, 2009 3:43 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

IMO, I think he just loosened his tie due to the stress of watching Jardine lose. But I can’t wait for the Rampage/Rashad fight. I got Rashad in that all the way. All Rampage does is throw power into his strikes and scores a takedown every now and then. Rashad throws all his power into kicks, strikes, and goes for the takedown more often than not. Evans, TKO, Round 3.

by BrutalKnockout. on Mar 8, 2009 3:48 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Rashad was dressed like that because he was going to be on camera alot more than usual (and co-comentate the fight). End of discussion.

by Nokimono on Mar 8, 2009 3:49 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

haha he learned how to dress because of GSP in his camp….? i doubt that.

by gobrowns on Mar 8, 2009 1:42 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Why would you doubt that? GSP is the first guy to show up to the press conferences with a suit on. Then others started to do it. The only other guys that do that now are Patrick Cote, who is a friend of GSP, and Rashad, who is in is camp. Rashad just recently started to dress well. It’s not for sure that he is “copying” GSP’s style, but he could have been influenced by GSP.

Page certainly kicked his ass in the smack down department….tough fight to call though…

by McArthur on Mar 8, 2009 11:20 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I dont think so McArthur. Rashad was calling him a “motherf*cker” and that he wasnt getting “sh*t.” Page just kept saying “OK”, “dont say that”, and said “much love and respect”, then grabed the mic and said the “Black on Black” thing to have the last word!

by JV on Mar 8, 2009 12:17 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Okay JV, so what does that have to do with Rampage responding the way that he did? Just because Page didn’t get on his Rashad’s level while Rashad was talking all that nonsense in front of hundreds of young kids who envy MMA with their parents at the event? Wow, so Page is now scared of Rashad because he didn’t stoop to Rashad’s level? You’re a funny guy JV!

by SoCal on Mar 8, 2009 2:37 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

It’s one thing to be entertaining, and try to hype a fight with some laidback smacktalk and it’s another thing to come off as an aggressive Jacka$$ like Rashad did, calling him a motherf*cker is a little out of line.. I’m starting to wonder what they’re eating at Greg Jackson’s, Nate, Rashad and GSP are all so fast and explosive, i say go down there and do some tests.. Rashad just made himself look like a complete idiot last night! Mike Whitehead warning on that guy,

by RoB on Mar 8, 2009 3:09 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

so it’s ok for “hundreds of young kids who envy MMA with their parents at the event” to watch men beat the shit out of each other, as long as they don’t hear the word shit? what kind of convoluted nonsense is that? So violence is OK, but naughty words are taboo? you must be a christian.

by jaileer on Mar 8, 2009 4:37 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

jaileer, thats rediculous!!! Its a violent yes but it is what it is…that smack talk was a test of wits lost by Rashad who couldn’t keep up and resotred to swearing…that shows weakness of mind

by McArthur on Mar 8, 2009 5:13 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

jaileer, i’m far from being a christian homeboy. But going out of line and calling someone a M’F’r is a little out of line. Yes indeed, they are beating on each other, but going as to far as calling M’F’rs and all that business is B.S. You must be a Rashad nuthugger!

by SoCal on Mar 8, 2009 6:23 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Rampage just beat his friend and started the smack talking. Rashad lost his composure, he also did that when Tito was talking smack’. Guy has to learn to control himself better.

This is in response to McArthur.
Saying that Rashad resorting to swearing showed weakness of mind…Actually all it showed was Quinton is better at being witty off the top of his head. Nothing more nothing less. So when did trash talking start dictating a fighters mind set??

rampage needs to be 100 times better to beat rashad, i would like to see a double , shut the fuck up knock out, both of these ass clowns on the ground with eyes rolled back. for those page nuthuggers who say rashad has no class, i guess that means rampage does? wow, what selective processing that is, in terms of class , rampage has lots , to bad its all third, as in 3rd class. they both need to go to the school of respect, and learn some.

by daz on Mar 8, 2009 12:51 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

rampage doesn’t dress like he’s a classy guy, but i did like to hear rashads commentary he wasn’t biased even about his own teammate he did say “well of course ill be pulling for my teammate and friend keith” but he wasn’t as biased as mir or retarded as tito..

Rampage mugged Rashad off there Big Time…. can’t wait for this fight – Rampage will give Evans his first lose… I think Rashad is being a little over rated just now cos of his KO of Chuck and his win over forest… Don’t forget Tito beat him(forgetting the point deduction)and in my book he shoulda’ lost the split decision to Bisping too!

Rampage will get his belt back!!

by DanP on Mar 8, 2009 11:24 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Yeah and Rashad was a HUGE underdog in that fight. I bet you even thought he was going to get knocked out in that fight. You probably even bet against him when he fought Forest.

by wusa on Mar 8, 2009 12:35 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I thin he meant Forrest, who was holding the belt when Rashad KO’d him ( with one leg up in the air)

by JRE on Mar 8, 2009 12:43 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Tito already did that, don’t care what anyone says.

by Jim on Mar 8, 2009 1:22 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

word! tito beat him. rashad was saved from that choke by the bell and he should actually thank tito for grabbing the fence because if he didnt do it, then rashad woulda lost the fight.

by AzCombat on Mar 8, 2009 3:54 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

WOW!!! So according to you, Rashad should have 2 losses on his record. Thankfully your not a judge. Tito never beat Rashad and neither did Bisping. That just sounds a bit like hating.

by Couchchamp on Mar 9, 2009 11:40 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

actually the Tito Rashad fight was ruled a draw after 1 or 2 (I cant remember which) points were taken away from Tito for barely holding the fence. So Tito did win the fighting part of the contest, otherwise with the deduction Rashad would have won, instead of getting the draw. If that makes any sense to you…

by JRE on Mar 9, 2009 11:45 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

“barely holding the fence”

1st: I wouldn’t classify clutching the fence for dear life as “barely”.

2nd: The Tito lovers &/or Rashad haters never acknowledge that the fence grab stopped a clean take-down. That would have greatly influenced the scoring of that round as well as the overall fight. Sure it wasn’t Rashad’s best performance but we’ll never know whether or not that particular take-down could have led to Rashad ending that fight either.

3rd: As far as Bisping vs Evans. It was somewhat of a close fight but Rashad did out-point Bisping. There’s really no disputing that if you watch it over a few times and score it properly.

rashad just runs from people.. he tries to hard to be like machida and hell machida doesn’t run he just comes in and out.. rashads to small at 205 to bang with page and gonna lose the belt, rampage will hold the 205 strap for a long time

by randy murders on Mar 8, 2009 1:29 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

That’s completely false. Rampage might get the belt back, but regardless of who wins this fight, Machida is gettin that belt, and he’s gonna hold it for a long time. Who the frick in that division is gonna beat him? He’s technically better than every fighter in the division in just about every aspect of the game.

by Craig on Mar 8, 2009 4:23 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Craig, I love your comment bro!! I’m really sick of people calling him boring, Machida is one of the most exciting fighter in MMA to watch…he has unique style and went he throws a kick or a punch it lands 90% of time..Machida should be the next in line not Page, Page just fought so he should just take a nice break, come back and train harder for the next fight…what’s point of fighting back to back, he won’t show up 100% and he probably will lose to Rashad..

by lokie on Mar 8, 2009 12:52 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Rashad’s a good fighter but I have never cared for his “showboating tendencies” or his thuglike attitude. He probably grew up in a nice white neighborhood in middle America somewhere and wants to come out like he’s “hard” or something. I don’t care for Rampage either which is surprising since I’m stationed in Memphis where he is king. He’s too one dimensional now. He surprised me with the take down when years ago I would have expected it. All in all I think Rashad will out point Rampage since he’ll mix it up more and is now more dynamic. I also think Machida will come in and out point Rashad when his time comes. With the long wait I’d like to see Machida fight the winner of the Liddel/Rua fight.

by Chief on Mar 8, 2009 11:50 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

one dimensional? How the hell do you figure that 2 fights ago against Dan Henderson he was all over the place and ever reversed Henderson on the ground a couple times. Rampage has excellent ground skills; but his hands have come a long way since pride and he’s using the boxing more now.

by O damn he got caught on Mar 8, 2009 12:22 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I say one dimensional because he just wants to brawl. To me he’s not fighting smart anymore. He’s not mixing it up with punches and kicks. Take downs and submissions. Yeah, he was great at take downs (slams were incredible) and his gnp was phenomenal but he’s not doing any of it. He’s too much of a boxer now. He’s too predictable. He’d rather eat leg kicks instead of check them so he can have both feet on the ground so he can throw his bombs. I do appreciate his power and his stand up skills, but if that’s all you do, it makes you one dimensional. I think Rampage will be picked apart by Evans unless Rampage knocks him out first.

by Chief on Mar 8, 2009 12:40 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

The guy’s a professional fighter. It’s just silly to to comment on whether or not the neighborhood he grew up in justifies him somehow. These guys are from ALL walks of life. Some grew up in million dollar homes while others were raised by the streets. What difference does it make when you’re talking about the elite fighters of the sport who have already established themselves?

I do agree with your point about Rampage becoming one-dimensional. I’m worried he’s making the same mistakes Chuck did. One-punch KO power is good but when you mix in an arsenal of kicks, take-downs and ground-game that’s what makes good become great. And being great is what it takes to stay at the top of this sport today. Good just isn’t good enough anymore.

To O damn’s point, he’s gotta get back to the Rampage we saw against Hendo. THat’s the Rampage that can potentially dominate the division.

by Machine on Mar 8, 2009 12:46 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Machine, I agree to your point the neighborhood doesn’t matter. I just get tired of showboating and trash talking of that sort. I don’t mind competitiveness and some clean smack talk but when you’re champion and you set that kind of an example I think it’s wrong. Yes, I know that should be irrelevant too but you know he’s a hero to some 12 year old kid out there that thinks that’s how he should act too. I think the class and respect 99% of these fighters show is what sets this sport apart from other sports.
I would love to see Rampage combine his greatly improved stand up and KO power to his old fighting style. I think doing that would make him an unstoppable beast.

by Chief on Mar 8, 2009 12:54 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

One dimensional huh Chief? Submissions is just an easy way out of a fight. Stand there and brawl like some grown mean. Look at Maia for an example.. He isn’t worth the flip standing so, he always looks for the submissions since he is world class jiu jitsu. Get in the middle and bang it out and stop being scared to trade. And also, what does you being stationed in Memphis have to do with anything? It’s not like you were born in Memphis and lived right next door to Page when you were growing up.

by SoCal on Mar 8, 2009 2:45 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

I definitely wouldn’t say submissions is an easy way out of a fight. Sometimes you eat a lot of punches to get the submission. Damian Maia is a world class jiu jitsu artist so he plays to his strengths. I don’t blame him. Does that make him one dimensional? Yes, I think it does. The thing is no one can overcome that one dimension right now. I think Evans will overcome the one dimension that Rampage is showing right now. Although if Rampage mixes it up like I know he can then he could definitely handle anyone at 205. If you want to see just a stand up slug fest watch boxing or K-1. Then you won’t have to worry about submissions or wrestling or anything that make for a MMA fight! As for me being only stationed in Memphis you’re right. I’ve only been stationed here for 4years. I’ve also grew up an hour from here in Arkansas where there is nothing to do but go to Memphis. So yeah, I grew up hearing about Jackson and I’ve even brought him a drink at a bar on Beale street here. I don’t understand the comments on me being stationed in Memphis… Does that make me unable to comment on a blog?

The only reason I mentioned being in Memphis is Rampage being from Memphis is a big deal here. That’s all they ever talk about here for MMA. Even some of the local gyms and trainers here are on Rampages nuts. I like him don’t get me wrong I just think he could be so much better. But as you said, no hard feelings and none taken.

by Chief on Mar 8, 2009 6:35 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Anyone that says submissions are the easy way out of the fight obviously have no clue what it takes to get a submission. Also, to stand there and brawl until one of the two of you fall is dumb. It doesn’t make you tough, just a dumbass that likes to flip a coin in a fight.

by bostonmmajunkie on Mar 8, 2009 8:54 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

This is for SoCal.
So you think less of a fighter like Demain Maia because he doesn’t stand and bang in the middle of the octagon? He uses the standup he has to get in close and do what he does.Sorta sounds like you’d rather watch a toughman contest than MMA. As far as Quinton, he’s got real good wrestling and real good hands, Zip for kicks, zip for subs. I can’t wait to see Quinton / Rashad fight…Fairly close with the hands, but I believe Rashad is the better wrestler and just by a hair…the more complete fighter. JMO.

lokie:

I just wanted to point out why Rashad acted towards Tito the way he did after their fight. At a previous event, Tito approached Rashad & his wife while they were watching a fight from the stands. Tito started trash talking him while he was relaxing with his lady. You can’t respect a guy after violating like that. It was totally inappropriate on Tito’s part.

by Machine on Mar 8, 2009 2:16 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Machine what are you talking about?.. Rashad came off as a d-bag against Tito too, that was Rashad’s version of what went down which anybody can tell wasn’t true, by just looking at the way Rashad acts, he takes things too far and too personal, he’s a rookie in the business compared to Tito and Rampage, and soon both of those will hold wins over his a$$ when Rampage knocks him out, he kept saying that Tito was grabbing the fence all the time, when the only two times he did it was in the 2nd round that ended up with Tito getting a point deduction.. and please Rampage’s standup is wayy better than Chuck Liddell’s he blocked every single one of Jardine’s punches his boxing defense is off the chain!

RoB:

Mania actually posted the video of it on this website when it happened. So I’m not repeating either of their “versions” of what happened. There’s a couple extended video’s of it floating around the web too. Forrest and a few others were sitting with Rashad when it happened and I think there’s a clip of Forrest somewhere online with him sharing his thoughts on it too.

You’ve been posting on here long enough to know I don’t fudge the facts. You don’t need to agree with my perspective all the time but I never make things up.

Here’s the link to the short version Mania posted here:

I’ve seen those clip many times.. not too big of a deal it was good hype for the fight, i’ve heard Rashads story on that too, i was just so fired up when i came on here to see all the comments about the Rampage vs Jardine fight.. I Tito’s all business, but Rashad takes everything personal and gets out of control.. calling a legend of the sport (Rampage) a motherf*cker won’t do you any good at all!

by RoB on Mar 9, 2009 4:45 AM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Definitely. It’s like he didn’t get it. Rampage was just hyping the fight and playing to the crowd. He was just being funny and entertaining. Rashad seemed to get pissed and took it a bit far.

1-0 Rampage. He definitely got Rashad wound up.

I actually think Rashad will win and if he’s a dog I’ll bet on him but I’m pulling for Quinton here big time.

Either way Lyoto will school these guys.

I’ve been posting here for a loooong time now and the regulars should know that I’m an unwavering fan of both Rashad & Rampage:

Rashad fan since TUF
Rampage fan for 3+ yrs now

With that said I think Rashad did take it all a bit personal. Without condoning or condemning, I understand why. It’s pretty simple too. Rampage just beat up his real-life friend & training partner right in from of him. Plain and simple the guy was emotional at the time. How rational are any of us when the adrenaline’s pumping and our emotions are flared up?

I’d love nothing more than to see Rashad get KTFO, but I don’t think Rampage is the guy to do it. While I really like Rampage the man, I view him as a too one-dimensional fighter (ala Chris Leben). While I’m glad Rampage won last night, I’d much rather see Lyoto Machida get the title shot.

People that don’t want to admit that page has become one dimesional are blinded by their nuthugger views. The guy has become a straight up boxer. If there is one thing we’ve learned from the evolution of MMA is that being a one trick pony won’t keep you on top for long.

by SluggerCitySoldier on Mar 8, 2009 12:32 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

lol, you guys are so stupid. He’s not one-dimensional at all. Did you not watch him dominate Dan Henderson on the ground for five rounds? Nobody has been able to threaten Rampage on the feet so he keeps it standing but when the fight goes to the mat he’s been able to dominate both Forrest and Hendo there. There isn’t a 205’er in the world that can control ‘Page on the ground so don’t tell me he’s one dimensional. Come back to me when he gets his ass submitted or loses a decision in a ground war.

by Anthony on Mar 8, 2009 1:01 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

when you’re leg is busted up that happens.. Rampage is a fighter, that’s why he doesn’t look for subs and stuff like that, and to become like Chuck he has to be 40 years old with his hands down his waist looking for a right hand everytime.. Rampage’s game is way more diverse than that

Listen, I love the man, but since arriving in the UFC all I’ve seen him do is come straight forward looking to throw bombs (very much like Leben). Sure, he kicked a little last night and even took Jardine down (twice?), but honestly, what does he do once on the ground? Ever seen him throw an elbow?

Rashad is the new generation of fighters along with GSP, for people to say Rashad cannot take a hit look at the Forrest fight, he took some good shots and kept going and got the tko later on. It is like the public likes to root against Rashad, the knockout he had on chuck was alot more devastating than Rampages’. Rashad will knockout Rampage, and even after that people will still doubt Rashad, but after that we will get the match that will give Rashad his toughest challenge Lyoto Machida.

In fairness to Tito, even with a dodgy back he dominated Rashad for about 14 minutes.

Tito may not be washed up at all, he’s only lost to the probably the best guy at 205 imo in Machida in the last couple of years. He should have beaten Rashad, he beat Forrest and before that losing to Liddell and Couture isn’t exactly bad. He was a kid against Mezger and Shammy back in the day.

On Dana’s blog did anyone see him interacting with that little kid… he let the kid get him in a headlock, take pictures… he made that little kids whole year…. Rampage just seems like a good, decent guy…

Everyone’s gotta luv Page but his punch count seemed pretty low and I thought his hand speed wasn’t up to par either.(maybe my internet stream was bad or maybe Page just didn’t throw enough straight punches) If that was Shad in the ring instead of Jardine then we could have been looking at a violent KO of Rampage. Shad will dance his ass all around Page and will definetly get off b4 him. who was impressed by Page’s boxing and handspeed??? He never stayed in the pocket to counter Jardine, he always backpeddled excessively instead of countering. That is gonna have no success against Shad cause Shad will always get his combos off faster. Shad’s gotta be feelin pretty good now that the canary made it out of the mine.
This card paid off pretty nicely for me but I dont think I would take Carwin over Kongo.

How the hell does everybody think rampage won the smack talk. Rashad made several points:
1. “you aint gettin that belt back”
2. “your gonna get knocked the f out”
3. “ill be diggin that ass”
i did not hear rampage say anything more bad ass than any of that. sounded to me like rampage got his ass punked and walked away. either way it is going to be one hell of a grudge match.

i agree with you, just b/c rashad wasn’t talking very loudly everyone seems to think he was intimidated and had nothing to say. Rampage wins by loudness but that’s it. Can’t wait to see shad and lyoto

SHAD GOT PWNT GET OVER IT

by Brandon on Mar 8, 2009 10:40 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

Evans looked intimidated to me…

Swearin, movin his head around, and during the pre fight stuff with rogen he seemed to want a fight with Machida more.

I highly doubt Evans will back down for one second when they square up, but during this little scene, Jackson was much more confident, laid back, and seemed to me, ready for Evans then Evans is for Jackson.

One of the 2 wins by KO…theyre goin to stand an bang in what should be an awesome fight

by lauzon39 on Mar 8, 2009 4:13 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

I think Evans is gonna try to put Rampage on his back and ground and pound him. Standin and bangin with Rampage is playing to Rampages strength. That would be a bad game plan.

yeah bro im thinkin fight of the year canditate with all the trash talk. but sure rashad is good but why do people praise him. forest won 2 rounds and even hit him clean a few times. if forest can rampage can and its going to be 10x harder. keith jardine has a worse style for rampage than rashad does. rampage will win but i hope it will be an epic fight.

RASHAD WILL WIN THE FIGHT! For people who say he is scared yall are going to lose some money when they fight.

by TexasBOY on Mar 8, 2009 5:16 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

totally agree, shad isn’t scared and whether he takes him down, or knocks him out, rashad is going to win the fight

by ufcfanatic23 on Mar 8, 2009 6:17 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

that was the worst smack talk ever. They just keep repeating the same thing. Why don’t they just kiss each other. HA.

Rampage is the best blocker in the game I see this being like east man fight

by Danoblk on Mar 8, 2009 6:21 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Page for sure. He wants that belt and has all the skills necessary.

by scissorfight on Mar 8, 2009 7:25 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Rashad you suck! The only reason why you have the belt is because you beat another bum in Forrest Griffin!

by xxBAxx816 on Mar 8, 2009 7:27 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

rashad will dance the whole fight but, if he don’t i can see him being put to sleep

by danoblk on Mar 8, 2009 7:44 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Hmmmm an interesting fight but i see it going to a descision due to the fact both are gona be aware of each others KO power…plus none have been KO’d…but we know Rampage can take a shot but can Rashad? PS KONGO vs CARWIN next and the winner is KONGO…Hes just as big but with a 10x better standup than Carwin…Hes the man to dethrone BROCK…(Full Stop!!!)

by KING OF THE HILLZ on Mar 8, 2009 7:55 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Kongo has to get by Hardonk first.

by RobH86 on Mar 8, 2009 10:55 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

They had Evans Vs Jackson already on the UFC website earlier, but took it down, since Rampage needs to get checked first, but either way Lyoto or Rampage will win against Evans.

by J-money on Mar 8, 2009 10:02 PM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Rampage Vs Jardine was a pretty even fight, Rampage only relied his boxing, only effective in the pocket/close distant.

Rashad is the same, good boxer and good wrestling that about it and he was losing the fight against Griffin, the way he won was only because Forrest got lazy on the ground and didn’t protect him self.

Now, Lyoto Machida is way better fighter than Page and Shad…he’s got Karate base, good movement, great kicks, throws very accurate punches, different to boxing, BJJ, and good mauy thai..

I just don’t understand why Machida is not getting his shoot how???? Typical American DANA White, you just think the world revolve around USA…doesn’t matter about anyone else..BULL SHIT.

rashad is 2 slippery 4 rampage .. he will avoid the big shots , use his hand speed and knows how 2 exchange in the pocket . just ask Chuck .. I like Rampage a lot but I see Evans by TKO in the 3rd

by Jakob on Mar 9, 2009 12:58 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

rashad cant take a punch rampage can, I bet rashad gets knockout in the first round

Rashad smack talk this weekend was nothing short of a disgrace. The guys a cocky arrogant kid with no class. All he’s got and I don’t know hwere it came from is his power; he was losing to both Chuck and Forest before he landed those bombs.

I hope Rampage destroys him and get’s his belt back, he shouldn’t have lsot it anyway as he won the Forest fight IMO.

Thiago Silva had an unbeaten record…and he got knocked out…fighters who have unbreaten records have never really been fully tested on the chin so we wont knw until hes been hit by RAMPAGE ….WAR RAMPAGE

I watched that fight that night, and Evans is one of thoughs people that I want to see get knocked out, and I’m glad that Rampage is the man that is going to give him that lights out feeling. Rampage by TKO 2nd round.

by E. Fairway on Mar 9, 2009 11:05 AM EDT reply actions   0 recs

Go Rampage! He wrecked Rashad on the mic… All Rashad could do was say ‘motherfucker’ a few times to get a rise, and all Rampage would say is ’Don’t say that, Rashad.’ Fucking classic. I just hope he can cope with that speed and power of Rashad

LOL Love it Rampage will knock Evans head off if he takes this fight on short notice!
