I am surprised that journalists even bother interviewing him. Talk about a fall from grace! Pathetic Vera! The truth was nothing but a Rumor…a Damn Lie!
about 2 years ago he was calling out chuck Liddell, now he fights against dude’s I have never heard of and gets no Air time on TV….. Still happy you sat sidelined for a year in a contract dispute?

you’re right John, but I still am a fan.
side note, you guys see where kendal grove will be cut if he loses.
my trip was good, massachusetts sucks (but I knew that already), I wrote about in the story two down from here (if mania puts it up).

I hate to admit it Kev, but I guess I am still a fan as well….If I wasn’t, it wouldnt piss me off! This guy had some of the most promising muy Tai skills in the UFC, I cant imagine that his skills have just disappeared! guy is in a slump, and if he has that warrior spirit, he will eventually get out of that slump!
I love Muy Tai, so I guess thats why I remain a fan of Vera’s, but he has to do something, or he will find himself unemployed as soon as the Philippine event is over!

Kev: Yeah I saw what Dana said about Kendall. do you think what Dana said is added Fuel for Kendall? or too much pressure? I liked kendall in this fight and I wanted to bet on him, but I dont know what kind of effect Dana’s comments have made on his emotional state going into the fight.
your thoughts?
by john on Mar 6, 2009 10:12 AM EST up reply actions
well, you want to fight in the UFC right? thats where all the best guys in his weight class are, so I’d say it’s added fuel and motivation.
John, I’m watching the new fedor HL video right now, as you know I’m a huge Fedor fan, but do give him shit. Unlike you, I call it as I see it (no offense meant), the Lindland fight, he clearly grabbed the ropes over and over and got a distinct advantage in doing so, your thoughts?

Brandon Vera could lose 5 fights in a row.. He’s still a great personality and that’s why i like him!

John, i am surprised you’re taking kendall. Day is the one fighter on this card you should expect changes from since he actually uprooted himself and quit his day job to concentrate 100% on fighting. Also glass chins really get in the way of wins.

NNR: Good post and I didn’t know that about Day! Oh well, to late, I already laid down $50 on Kendall.
“Also glass chins really get in the way of wins.” -Quote of the day!
Kevin: I cant deny that Fedor grabbed that rope…It did happen, and he did Break the rules….but thats why mma doesnt belong in a ring. All the greats have used the ropes to their advantage. I can remember Wandy holding on to the ropes for Balance while he would repeatedly foot stomp peoples heads off!
If we equate holding the ropes (when being taken down) to grabbing the cage….All that should have resulted from Fedor grabbing the ropes was a warning and if he did it again, a point deduction (by UFC rules of course). If Fedor and Linland would have gone to a decision, then maybe the rope grabbing should have mattered but, lets say Lindland did take Fedor down and put Fedor on his back….fight would have still ended the same way….Fedor via Armbar! Lindland’s strategy of taking the fight to the ground was flawed from the get go, especially when you consider Lindland was doing ok on his feet.
I do not like, nor condone grabbing the ropes, but its going to continue to happen if mma battles continue to be contested in a ring instead of where they belong….a CAGE!!!! i dont like what Fedor did, but either way he would have won that fight via armbar….weather he executed the armbar from top position or from his back…doesnt really matter. THat armbar was coming either way!

Yeah, and I thought the interviewer did a decent job of asking some prettry direct questions we all want to know, but Vera gave non-answers. He phrased the message more than one way, but basically put it to him, “What’s been the problem in your last couple fights?” And Vera acts like they were good fights. Saying “fuck the press” is like saying “fuck your fans” because we’re all wondering the same thing. Vera and Karo should form a gay duo.

Karo would load up on Xanax and take it in the ass in that coupling.

honestly, i watched about 4 and a half minutes of the int. and couldn’t do it anymore, boring as hell.

I am still a fan. IF he gets some quality wins under his belt I will anticipate alot of drool on his sack from the same fanboys who are dogging him now.

I personaly like Vera. I think he has alot of potential, just a head full of shit. Anybody who will tell someone who is interviewing them " FUCK EM, I DONT GIVE A FUCK " in reagrds to the media im a fan of.

I’d like to see Vera fight that dude that just threw Bonner all over the cage- Jon Bones Jones!! Give Vera a challenge – Beat that guy or your out of the UFC!
I like Vera… but his recent performances have been rubbish!
by DanP on Mar 6, 2009 9:53 AM EST reply actions
Jon Jones had to scare the crap out of everyone. I think they should throw that guy someone in the top 10 and see what happens. That dude had a style a have never seen before.

LOL Vera pretty much told that dude to go go F*** himself! And the reporter knew it too.
by Adam on Mar 6, 2009 11:16 AM EST reply actions
furthermore the under-cards are on the net ( mmascraps among others ) like 5 minutes after they are over so we do get to see them..!
by bDavid on Mar 6, 2009 12:29 PM EST reply actions
wow, that interviewer is a total douche bag. It was very tough to watch as he was just trying to pull the info out of Vera that he wanted to hear.
by Chip Dizzle on Mar 6, 2009 1:32 PM EST reply actions
yeah i cant stand that reporter. Its one thing to ask the tough quesions, i understand thats part of bieng a reporter, but this dude goes beyond douchbaggism! He does that sht to Randy couture alot as well. I jsut laughed my ass off when Vera said “Fu** em” " I dont give a Fu**" referring to the media, including the reporter. And that foo jsut makes a face like “oh OK” i bet his shite his pants!
