What happens if Jardine wins? Does he go on to fight his best friend Rashad? This is a stupid match up. Rampage Via complete destruction.
by belfort_fan on Feb 26, 2009 2:17 PM EST reply actions
its close to worthless, no point in this match up.i also see gonzaga beating carwin with no problems.
by roy on Feb 26, 2009 3:36 PM EST up reply actions
I want Carwin to win But i agree with you. i want to see Carwin get some more wins and eventually fight Brock.
by belfort_fan on Feb 26, 2009 7:45 PM EST up reply actions
If Jardine wins Rampage loses the titl shot, and Machida is the number 1 contender. This fight is taking place because Rashad didn’t won’t to fight again so soon, and Rampage wanted a fight as soon as possible. As long as Rampage comes in aggressive, I don’t really see how he loses this.

I started out not caring about this fight too much, and I dunno what happened, but Im actually kinda psyched for this one. I think Jardine has won every single fight he has been an underdog to except W. Silva and Im not even sure if he was then.
by c-war on Feb 26, 2009 3:52 PM EST up reply actions
yeah he was the underdog, not by alot but yeah…

I got Carwin in this one. I think after Velasquez beats Herring they should do a battle of the up and comers for the #1 contender in HW

I hope Jardinr doesn’t pull off one of his upsets!! I want this one quick and easy so we get Rampage/Rashad at 100!
by kevin on Feb 26, 2009 4:17 PM EST up reply actions
I hope so…if Rampage loses the entire MMA time-continuimn will collapse
by McArthur on Feb 26, 2009 4:22 PM EST up reply actions
If rampage losses this, the only thing that will happen is Machida becomes #1 contender. Life in MMA will move on as we know it.
by BK on Feb 26, 2009 9:18 PM EST up reply actions
If Rampage loses this? Not a chance in hell! He learned a very important lesson because of the Forrest fight, and Rampage will not be entering the Octagon under-trained and Fat EVER AGAIN!!!!
When Rampage is at the top of his game, he is the best in the world…with the only fighters having a chance at beating him are Machida and Cardio Shogun!
RaSHAD IS A GREAT FIGHTER BUT DOESNT DO anything BETTER THAN Rampage! Only advantage shad will enjoy against Page is Speed….But Rampage isnt Chuck who has a million terrible habbits in the stand up that have been causing him to get KTFO! In fact Rampage has some of the best stand up Defense in all of mma, not just the LHW division. Rampage also isnt Frail chinned Forrest griffin. I dont think Rashad can land 1 big blow and finish Rampage. It will take more than a great shot to make Page’s Chin buckle.
Case in Point, Rampage/Machida.Shogun (if conditioned) are the best LHW’s in the world. Rashad is also up there!
Jardine isnt pulling off this upset!
by john on Feb 27, 2009 9:53 AM EST up reply actions
yeah i really hope keith wins this also, he definitely deserves it… hes had so many tough match ups and is still getting paid peanuts, hell probably be getting paid about a quarter of what jackson is getting… lets do this jardine! upset special!
by brendan on Feb 26, 2009 2:36 PM EST up reply actions
Jardine isnt fighting Liddell or Forrest. Rampage wins this fight 9 times out of 10
by LOKIE on Feb 26, 2009 9:03 PM EST up reply actions
I want to see Carwin win this fight. Im not too sure he will but ill be rooting for him.
by belfort_fan on Feb 26, 2009 2:33 PM EST reply actions
lol i was wondering the same thing ..cheap bastards. maybe its a cardio technique or something ??
by tuffguy01 on Feb 26, 2009 7:51 PM EST up reply actions
WAR Rampage!! who does Jardine think he is, Rampage is the best boxer at LHW for sure and his boxing defense is also the best! Jardine’s going to sleep once again with his sloppy fat hanging all over body..
by RoB on Feb 26, 2009 2:39 PM EST reply actions
I thought Machida’s was. Rampage just has the most power.
by c-war on Feb 26, 2009 3:47 PM EST up reply actions
ok, no Machida isn’t a good boxer.. I mean he throws good punches, but he ain’t no boxer he has another style.. and Rampage is actually a technical boxer with good power
by RoB on Feb 26, 2009 5:09 PM EST up reply actions
I gotta agree, well said RoB thats exactly what I was t5hinking there styles are totaly different.
by LOKIE on Feb 26, 2009 9:07 PM EST up reply actions
IN my view Jardine’s chance is leg kicks as the rest of his game is not as good as rampage’s. Rampage knows this and i am sure they are working something since the Forrest fight on how deal with leg kicks. Maybe not eliminate them but a strategy to minimize their effect on his game.
Another things is that Rampage has a great chin and Jardine’s isn’t that great i think Jardine goes down by knockout at some point
by staples on Feb 26, 2009 2:47 PM EST reply actions
How does he not have a good chin? Every single fighter would get ko by Alexander and Silva. Maybe he left himself open to them, but that wouldn’t mean that he has a weak chin. and leaving himself open is something that he and the Jackson camp could work on. The chin thing you can’t so hopfully for Jardine it’s not that.
by BOW on Feb 26, 2009 3:14 PM EST up reply actions
what? rampage has lost once by KO and that was after about 30 knees from Wanderlei when Wand was everything he’s not these days..

he has been koed once and tkoed twice but its pretty much the same thing, they both end with the guy getting the crap kicked out of him
by matt on Feb 26, 2009 4:06 PM EST up reply actions
exactly what i explained in another thread. ppl have to watch fights hes only been actually ko’d once when he went through the ropes. jardine has been out cold 3 times that ive seen. and rampage hits harder than all of them
rampage by legit ko before the 1st minute ends
by Jared on Feb 26, 2009 4:57 PM EST up reply actions
You know jared, your right. I was watching one of the KO shows from the UFC and they were showing fights that wernt KO at all. I didn’t mean out cold, even a flash KO has to do with a suspect chin. I also believe that one of Jardines ko was a shot behind the ear kinda like gsp/serra.
by BOW on Feb 26, 2009 5:44 PM EST up reply actions
ok but Rampage’s TKO losses weren’t flash KO’s.. he took all they had to offer, and the ref stepped in a year after he should’ve in his fight against Shogun
by RoB on Feb 26, 2009 6:12 PM EST up reply actions
He chin may not be suspect but its hardly in the class with someone like Rampage. And as far as every single fighter being Ko’d by Alexander, and Silva. Tell that to Thiago Silva, James Ivin, and eric Shafer for crying out loud. Ill give you Wandy, but Alexander?
by LOKIE on Feb 26, 2009 9:13 PM EST up reply actions
well LOKIE he means if Alexander hits his opponent clean on the button.. not that he has the skill to KO anyone but if he connects with his hardest shots..
by RoB on Feb 27, 2009 12:40 PM EST up reply actions
Rampage and Gonzaga got this. They’re both in the hunt for the title shot again.
by TRIKZ on Feb 26, 2009 3:17 PM EST reply actions
lol!
im having a meltdown trying to compute that in my brain
jackson via ko!
by MMA Wallpapers SF on Feb 26, 2009 3:28 PM EST reply actions
Funny that they show the Rampage-Arona fight clips, especially the slam, given that the headbutt that occurred at the end of the slam is what KO’d Arona. Rampage is beatable, always has been, always will be. Remember children, Sakuraba submitted Rampage after getting slammer more than a few times. I’m saying Jardine via submission, that or a decent decision that should be expected from a Greg Jackson fighter.
A little side question… How is Rampage training in the UK? Isn’t he awaiting trial? I didn’t think they let people leave the country while out on bail awaiting trial or am I mistaken? Has he had his trial already?
by Belisarius on Feb 26, 2009 6:10 PM EST reply actions
Appearances are everything. Especially with so many untrained eyes looking on. Many people are under the impression the slam is what ko’d Arona even though it was the catalyst for the headbutt that really did him in. Either way, it’s an impressive clip to behold. Forget about the slam, to lift a man from the floor on up above your own head is a feat in itself.
Oh and everyone is beatable so nothing new there. Also Rampage was an unknown in mainstream MMA when he fought Sakuraba who was already a legend at the time. The gap in experience was major. It was Quinton’s 1st fight in PRIDE and he was brought in to lose to the legend. The performance he put on in that ring against the great Sakuraba is what gained him notoriety and launched his career. It was also the ONLY time Rampage has been submitted in his entire career. If it ever happens again it’ll take a hard-core BJJ player to get the job done and that’s not who Jardine is. In other words, your prediction of Jardine by submission is a fantasy at best.
by Machine on Feb 26, 2009 6:35 PM EST up reply actions
again wel said Machine Page def aint getting submitted…definitely not knocked out either as even wheneve rPage gets hit hard..it just gets him more foccussed and makes him fight with more urgency and bite. the only way keith jardine can win this fight is if he throws leg kicks like his life depends on it….as even though rampage is back on track after the forrest fight he still wasnt checking wandy’s kicks.
if rampage can check jardines kicks which should be simple enough if hes trained it…then Rampage by either decision or a brutal KO….my bets on lights out!
