Smith is on a mission

by shitleTOT.com on Feb 23, 2009 5:46 PM EST reply actions

His mission is to get destroyed. Radach is gonna pick him apart like some pair of chopstix…

BJ Penn vs. Kenflo news:

Although Dana wanted this fight to be the main event at UFC 99….BJ says, not possible. He needs time to spend with his 1st child…so this fight wont be happening until late July or August!

I expect a b-level main event for UFC 99

Strikeforce April 11th show news:*

strikeforce is having a hard time finding good opponents for Gilbert and Josh THomson, so Strikeforce is considering booking a rematch between the 2 for the strikeforce April 11th show.

KJ noons, declined a fight with the Champ…and it looks like Gilbert Vs Jorge “the cabbanna boy” Gurgel is unlikely.

I wouldnt mind seeing a rematch between Gilbert and Josh! what do you guys think?

by john on Feb 24, 2009 8:51 AM EST up reply actions

yeah first fight was mad, and i was surprised how much josh was written off. a rematch wouldbe better than to waste the fights against cans.

by josh on Feb 24, 2009 11:49 AM EST up reply actions

thank you john needed some news

by Jared on Feb 24, 2009 6:17 PM EST up reply actions

no problem man. Want some more news? Akiyama has signed with the UFC!

by john on Feb 24, 2009 6:24 PM EST up reply actions

Radach’s right is heavier then a twenty pound sledge being swung by Paul Bunyan. If you are on the ground and he connects, it results in one of two things: ref stoppage or knock out. Sometimes both. Smith has only one chance to win and that is to out last Radach. My prediction: Radach TKO first round.

by Hammer on Apr 8, 2009 6:09 PM EDT up reply actions

Nice match.

by ARodOfIron on Feb 23, 2009 5:53 PM EST reply actions

This will be intense. I got Radach on this one.

by Ca$z on Feb 23, 2009 5:58 PM EST up reply actions

Ca$Z…Me too… Anyone who’s fight technique is “face smashing fu” gets the nod in my book. I wonder if the UFC will have that as a choice in UFC undisputed 09?

by BeerMan on Feb 23, 2009 6:03 PM EST up reply actions

Add me to that list. After the Rua fight, am a fan.

by NameNotRequired on Feb 23, 2009 6:07 PM EST up reply actions

Radach is the man. In my home town he smashed the face of someone who was trying to rob Elmer’s(A breakfast place) with a gun. Broke dude’s face. Besides that he is the man and always entertaining to watch.

by Bluepit on Feb 23, 2009 6:26 PM EST up reply actions

BLUEPIT….Is that where he gets that from?

by BeerMan on Feb 23, 2009 6:29 PM EST up reply actions

Gets what from Beer Man?

by Bluepit on Feb 23, 2009 6:41 PM EST up reply actions

Nevermind. Got it. Honestly not sure if that’s where he got it from. Probably.

by Bluepit on Feb 23, 2009 6:42 PM EST up reply actions

Bluepit.. When they announce him they say his fighting style is Face Smashing FU, did he get that after the beat down of the dude at breakfast, or has he always rolled with that moniker?

by BeerMan on Feb 23, 2009 6:43 PM EST up reply actions

typing at the same time….I got your answer

by BeerMan on Feb 23, 2009 6:44 PM EST up reply actions

All I got to say about this one is that SOME IS GETTING Knocked the F out, Man (In my Chris Tucker voice)!!!

I would probably give the edge to Radach…They both hit like Mac Trucks but Smith’s defense isn’t as good. He has a pretty solid chin, which makes up for his pathetic striking defense.
Both Heavy hItters, I go with Radach cause he is better defensively!

by john on Feb 23, 2009 6:45 PM EST up reply actions

NNR, same here! Became a fan after he picked apart Ninja. nice battle right there! War Radach!

by Syd[a.k.a."the Negation"] on Feb 23, 2009 10:58 PM EST up reply actions

I can’t quite put my finger on why but I’m feelin’ like Radach’s gonna take this.

Arlovski NEWS***

Oh, I totally forgot to post this. I knew about this news for a week now, and completely forgot until this thread was made.

Andre may not be able to jump ship for boxing as soon as he thought! He still owes Affliction 1 more fight. If Affliction did not provide him a fight, in the amount of time stipulated on the contract (I think this time period expires in September), they would have to pay Arlovski anyway his normal rate, which is 1.5 million.

Affliction 3rd show will be in july! I cant imagine Arlovski not being on it! Affliction can not afford to give away 1.5 million to Andre without him even fighting. So I think Andre will be stuck in mma, for at least 1 more fight…

I say Andre vs. Alistar or Cro Cop!

I also wouldnt mind them bringing in a K-1 star to match up against Andre, since all Andre wants to do is strike anyway!

by john on Feb 23, 2009 7:19 PM EST up reply actions

Andre and Alistar would be a great fight to watch. Thanks for the news.

by Bluepit on Feb 23, 2009 7:25 PM EST up reply actions

NO problem man!

U rijah Faber is politicking for Super fights! I dunno how a guy that isnt champion can ask for Super fights but whatever. He listed:

BJ Penn
Miguel
Kid

as opponents he wants to face!

by john on Feb 23, 2009 7:34 PM EST up reply actions

I think torres is the only one on the list that could fight him. Kid is confirmed for Dream.9 and Penn is too big to weigh down.

by Bill Maher on Feb 23, 2009 8:20 PM EST up reply actions

he should get that belt back first

by McArthur on Feb 23, 2009 8:21 PM EST up reply actions

John I posted that in the Faber/Bowels thread….

by Synyster on Feb 23, 2009 10:56 PM EST up reply actions

john urijah has been trying for those superfights for the last year even before the jens fight, i know a guy who actually trains with urijah and is in his corner for all fights and he says urijah wants a rematch with tyson griffin more then anything then maybe those super fights but really wants griffin (in the first fight they say urijah fell and cut his head open entering the cage and wasn’t all there to begin with)

by randy murders on Feb 24, 2009 2:14 AM EST up reply actions

THanks for the Urijah info guys. I still have never seen Urijah vs. Tyson!

I think you need to have a belt around your waist if you are going to be asking for superfights!

by john on Feb 24, 2009 8:17 AM EST up reply actions

ill take smith, always liked that guy since the sell fight

by Jared on Feb 23, 2009 6:03 PM EST reply actions

that fight will go down in history as one of the top 5 greatest fights in mma!

by john on Feb 23, 2009 6:45 PM EST up reply actions

No way whatsoever one of the greatest MMA fights ever. One of the top 5 greatest MMA comebacks sure, but not fights.

Tyson/GUida
Tyson/ Edgar
Tyson/Tavares
Chuck/Silva
Forrest/Page
Brock/Randy
Chuck/Randy trilogy
Chuck/Tito
DIaz/Gomi
Alvarez/Kawajiri
Alvarez/Hansen
Aoki/Alvarez
Lawler/Smith I
Nate/Neer

I could go on dude.. Sell/Smith is NOT a top 5 greatest MMA fight. Sorry if I went overboard, but once you start thinking about awesome fights you can stop! lol

by Synyster on Feb 23, 2009 10:54 PM EST up reply actions

oK Synyster, u got me! What CAN NEVER be disputed is that it is a TOp 5 best FINISH to an mma fight of all time!

by john on Feb 24, 2009 8:16 AM EST up reply actions

One of the greatest finishes I have seen in MMA. I don’t think he will take this one, but that was a great great fight.

by BeerMan on Feb 23, 2009 6:46 PM EST up reply actions

Ya I think I watched the replay of that over a 100 times. At first thought Scott was baiting him in, but then Sell gets up before he does. Instant classic.

by Bluepit on Feb 23, 2009 7:17 PM EST up reply actions

yep…great fight but definately THE BEST comeback ever

by McArthur on Feb 23, 2009 8:22 PM EST up reply actions

by rustedface on Feb 24, 2009 10:10 AM EST up reply actions

by MMA Fight Shop on Feb 23, 2009 8:14 PM EST reply actions
