i did watch stevenson on countdown to the ufc event, and he did go out in the middle of nowhere to train and all that hard mental work, but he was smiling and pumping the crowd up which in my mind is no problem.. but if i trained that hard i would be very aware and mentally right to win like deigo was.

I loved how Diego countered JOe’s Guillotine with a body slam! Great Counter!

was the best fight of the night for sure. almost had shades of griffen/bonner at times, very exciting fight.

Diego closed his eyes on every combo he threw at Joe, hella funny to actually have a photo of it, Penn would eat him alive in the stand up while his eyes are closed, Kenny/Sherk would out work him with the weight cut, go back to 170, 155 takes away all his stamina, speed, jump, explosive, craziness, all gone, til he masters the cut and starts opening his eyes during stand up trades he shouldnt fight any real contenders unless the UFC wants him at the bottom of the 155 chain sooner than later. Good fight, not a great fight, hell, we’ve seen how easy Joe is to put away if you’re an animal like we thought Diego would be at 155 via Penn/Kenflo and Diego couldnt even finish him, let alone as fast as either of the others, reality check = go back to 170.

This was his first fight at this weight. Maybe you should swallow your hate for a while and wait until he has had a few more fights before you totally dismiss him in this weight class. Do you not think that because Stevenson lost twice already that he may have trained even harder to make sure it didn’t happen again, and made a point of putting more effort in this fight then he did in the last ones.

Nope, i dont agree . . . with anything you say. “Hate” i say he should go to a weight class where he has a chance, thats “hate”??? ok 13 year old little girl, Diego should walk through Joe, the cut is too much for him and if he fights a guy like Sherk he’ll be worn out in 8 minutes. Period, sally.

adam, i think you may be jumping the gun a bit. a few more fights at 55 will tell us how he’s gonna handle the cut and what type of fighter he’ll be there. I was disappointed by his performance just because this is the first time in a long time that he was gonna be the bigger guy and I didn’t see him bully joe around at all. maybe some nerves coming into the first fight in a new division combined with crazy high expectations for him there. Let’s see how his next fight goes before we say he’s gotta jump back to 170.

yeah, I wont pass Judgement until I see a few more fights at 55. 1st time weight cut into a new weight class is Never easy, and Diego handled it well. After all he did just beat a top 10 UFC lightweight, if not top 5 in jOe stev.

Yeah, it is strange to make such a broad judgment of Diego when it was his FIRST cut to 155 and his FIRST fight after making that cut.
I know in some cases an educated judgment can be made on an initial review, but for this case to have such a broad statement made seems more so narrow minded.
I wonder since Diego didn’t finish Joe, if they’ll give him a step up in competition or if they’ll give him another mid level fighter in say Clay Guida who won his last bout. Maybe Sanchez can fight Huerta for Roger’s last fight.

The picture of Kos proves that his eyes were not in the back of his head and that he was fine.

are you fucking stupid?…..a picture proves nothing, its a still fram go back a half a second and take a picture and his eyes would be in the back of his head

Not really a Kos fan but I thought the stoppage was a bit premature, would have been interesting to see if he could have recovered…

It all depends on Deigo’s next opponent. He had a good performance but I was expecting a finish. Yes it was his deput at 155 so we’ll see. I think he has to adapt to the new weight before taking on Sherk. Anyone else but Sherk and he should do fine.

Knew Sanchez would win but was rooting for Joe. Sanchez talks a lot and I would like to see him fight Sherk. He is not ready for Penn for sure.

The fight was awful. Neither one of them attacked with any purpose. Almost nothing landed, yet they stood for 3 rounds!
They both look very weak mentally. Stevenson should’ve known he was behind in the points and attacked more. Diego yells a lot, but he actually lacked intensity and wasn’t much better. His decision making is questionable considering the way he left Jackson’s training camp.
