UWC: 'Man 'O' War' weigh in results; Chase Beebe a no show

The Washington D.C.-based mixed martial arts promotion Ultimate Warrior Challenge (UWC) is all set for UWC 5: "Man 'O' War" tomorrow night at the George Mason University Patriot Center Arena in Fairfax, Virginia.
There's just one problem ... and it's kind of a big.
Former WEC bantamweight champion Chase Beebe -- who was scheduled to headline the show opposite Mike Easton -- did not make the trip into town. He claims that a knee injury forced him out of the bout at the last minute and he could not make the 135-pound division limit.
Here's a snip from UWC CEO Marcello Foran:
"We are extremely disappointed that Chase failed to show up today to compete at MAN 'O' WAR and equally frustrated by the way this entire situation has played out. We were aware that he was having troubling cutting weight earlier this week, but never received any official medical documentation about the severity or extent of an injury that would force him to pull out of the show which is required in his contract."
There's no word yet on whether or not Beebe will be recovered in time to participate in the opening round of the DREAM 2009 Featherweight Grand Prix Tournament, which is scheduled to take place at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan, in about two weeks.
In the meantime, he has been replaced by H.I.T. (Hughes Intensive Training) Squad’s Justin Robbins for the UWC main event against Easton.
Here are the full weigh-in results for UWC 5: "Man 'O' War:"
135 lbs.: Justin Robbins (135.5) vs. Mike "The Hulk" Easton (135.75)
205 lbs.: Antwain "The Juggernaut" Britt (206) vs. Jamal "The Suit" Patterson (206)
125 lbs.: John "The Magician" Dodson (124.75) vs. Jose "The Pistol" Villarisco (124.75)
185 lbs.: Richie "The Dirty Samurai" Hightower (185) vs. Marcus Foran (186)
185 lbs.: Ron "The Choir Boy" Stallings (185.5) vs. Whisper "Gorilla" Goodman (184.5)
205 lbs.: Cody "Donnybrook" Donovan (206) vs. John Doyle (205)
120 lbs.: Felice "Lil Bulldog" Herrig (120.75) vs. Iman "Mannie" Achhal (120.25)
170 lbs.: Kyle "The Alleycat" Baker (170.25) vs. Levon "The Main Man" Maynard (171)
185 lbs.: Kris "Savage" McCray (182) vs. Manny "Postura" Okorie (183.75)
*Note: Fighters are allowed to weigh one pound more than the division limit.
MMAmania.com will provide the full results and recap of everything that goes down at the George Mason University Patriot Center Arena tomorrow night shortly after the event.
And remember that you can watch the event that the promotion is calling, "the biggest MMA event in the nation's capital's history" via a live stream on Sherdog.com on fight night.

Pathetic and people expect him to take the GP. Yea right. Brit wins. Am curious about who wins the women’s bout even though i can’t stand Felice.

The whole reason he was a no-show was so he wouldn’t risk the GP. I don’t blame him.

You don’t blame him? The man signed a contract to participate in this event and completely blew it off. He didn’t make the trip, he didn’t have his knee examined by the appropriate doctors and didn’t even inform the promoter until the very last minute.
That is extremely unprofessional and I hope the UWC holds him accountable for the contract he signed.

J: u r absolutely right! Blatant act of disrespect and one of the most unprofessional things U have seen in the sport in a long time.
I have been saying all week that he is an idiot for taking this fight when the grand Prix, which is a tremendous opportunity is right around the corner. Backing out of this fight was the smart thing for his career….but the way he went about it was unprofessional and classless! What he did was just wrong. He was headlining this event, and I feel for all the fans that attended the show and were stiffed by Beebe!
He is smart for not fighting so close to the GP, but he needs to be held accountable for his actions.
What he did was what was best for him, but it was So wrong on many different levels!

who cares about ‘men’ the size of in shape women fighting? Gina Carano cuts weight to make 145 and she is a smokin hot woman. These guys are the size of 13 year old boys. Who cares to see them fight it is like taking to cat tied at the tail and hanging them over a closeline.
