John, don’t bet against Randy…I honestly can’t remember when one of his predictions was wrong

by McArthur on Feb 19, 2009 4:04 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Anytime he feels obligated to pick one of the guys that trains at Xtreme Couture. i.e. – picking Forrest over Rashad.

Remember when Sonnan was running his mouth about Anderson? Well Dana responds. Here’s the recap from BLoodyelbow:

“I think I’m better than Anderson and I think Demian’s better than Anderson,” Sonnen was quoted as saying by the newspaper’s Sergio Non. “I think we would both beat him.”

Maia said he appreciated Sonnen for including him in that view, but White was incredulous upon learning of Sonnen’s words.

He laughed and then said, “You’re [expletive] me, right?”

Assured it was no joke and that the newspaper had quoted Sonnen as saying that, White said, "Chael Sonnen really said that? And he was serious? OK. Whatever. I’ve heard everything now. More power to him, I guess."

Chuck vs Jardine is the last one I remember, Couture thought Liddell was gonna find a way to land that KO shot, but no dice.. Other than that, your right; Randy’s analasys of fighters and predictions on fights are usually air tight.

True, I forgot about the Forrest fight.

FIGHT UPDATE***

Alistar Overeem has accepted an offer to fight 2008 K-1 Grand Prix winner Remy Bonjasky at the end of March. k-1 rules

by john on Feb 19, 2009 4:19 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Although in that situation Randy was pretty much obligated to pick Forrest, how the hell would it have looked if he had said “Yea we’ve been training really hard for this fight, but Forrest just isn’t there yet, I think Rashad takes this match”.

by O damn he got caught on Feb 19, 2009 4:19 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

that would have made my day ODAMN!

by john on Feb 19, 2009 4:21 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I was actually impressed with Forrest after the fight, he held back the tears; I thought we were about to see some serious BALLING, opening of the flood gates, the return of the Biblical disaster that covered the earth and destroyed all flesh; but he saved that for the hotel room.

Randy is wrong for sure.. and i have a feeling Junior might get into some trouble with this guy, i will not be too surprised if Struve wins..

by RoB on Feb 19, 2009 5:13 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Randy probably thought he would beat Brockness Monste, but I don’t know that he went public with it.

by PW on Feb 19, 2009 5:37 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Where are the UK fans at? Big News!!!!

We all know that my boy Semtex is a lunatic, who changes his mind every 2 minutes. He was always against signing with the UFC, but he said that he is now ready to find a home, and his 1st choice is the UFC.

Please Joe Siulva and Dana White….Get Semtex in an octagon ASAP!!!

I want to see Semtex vs:
Marcus Davis
Rumble Johnson
Swick

Get me SEMTEX ASAP!!!!!!

by john on Feb 19, 2009 6:01 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

FYI: Semtex vs. Lytle would be EPIC!

john- is that fight with Allistair going to be under K-1 rules? I wonder if he will go to the UFC if he does well with K-1.

by RyanHobbs on Feb 20, 2009 4:49 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

yeah, its under K-1 rules!

by john on Feb 20, 2009 8:02 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I dont get how some people are putting this card down. the card looks great, with some awesome fites possibilities. im sooo pumped for this card

by bobby oshea on Feb 19, 2009 3:37 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Yeah, this card loos really good.
I can’t wait to watch it.

I think that everyone got spoiled by UFC92.
You can’t expect every card to be stacked with big names.

UFC96 looks great too. :)

by Natas on Feb 19, 2009 4:15 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

these “fites” are about as good as your spelling

by brendan on Feb 19, 2009 11:51 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

remember when everyone used to say how weak the MW division was? Seems pretty loaded to me now.

by Amos on Feb 19, 2009 3:51 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

I agree….this card is better than UFC 96!

by Robert(1) on Feb 19, 2009 3:51 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

yea it is, both lack a good main event but this card has tons of depth and two very important match ups at middleweight along with koscheck and what i think is going to be fight of the night in markham vs. hardy.

The sad thing is i have tickets to 96 so i hope that it suprises me. I think it has the potential to have alot of exciting fights although it lacks the big names.

by matt on Feb 19, 2009 4:28 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I don’t know. I am really looking forward to seeing Carwin and Gonzaga throw down. Should be pretty cool to see if Jardine can play the role of spoiler against Rampage.

by RyanHobbs on Feb 20, 2009 4:53 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

This card definitely is stacked, esp. for a free card, but stacked nonetheless.

by shitleTOT.com on Feb 19, 2009 4:07 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Yeah very good card, just missing a true main event!!

Does anyone know if any top names will be at the event as coaches or corner men, nobody has replied to me as yet!!

Cant wait for it now, my first live event is just round the corner!!!!!

by mo on Feb 19, 2009 6:46 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Just been watching the press conference, is Dana not even making an appearance at this event?? that would be so wrong IMO, first no main event, then no Dana blog and now no Dana….come on!!!!!!

by mo on Feb 19, 2009 7:09 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

you come on! im actually happy that Dana’s not there he’s just taking the spotlight from all of the fighters..

by RoB on Feb 19, 2009 8:46 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I like Kenny’s poke at Franklin about his “sources”. Made me laugh.

by blackBEERd on Feb 19, 2009 8:04 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

what…… are you serious ROB??? He gives the spotlight to the fighters!!!!! So many blind people cant see why this sport is where it is today!!

My point is this card has been slated in some quarters, so if Dana doesnt attend in kinda looks like he hasnt put much effort or care in the card, as he attends every event!!

by mo on Feb 19, 2009 10:11 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

It’s where it’s at because of us the fans!! and without fan favourites like Tito, Chuck, Randy, Vitor and especially Tito without those guys that attracted us the fans there wouldn’t be no sport..

by RoB on Feb 19, 2009 10:47 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

or should i say there wouldn’t be a organization called the UFC..

by RoB on Feb 19, 2009 10:50 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

That is where your comments become deluded and completely unfounded!!

Do you honestly think that other fighters would not have taken the opportunity, if it wasnt these guys it would have been someone else!!!??? All the names you have mentioned are for sure the top stars and fans favirouts. However the fact is that if the ufc run by Dana white did not provide the opportunities for these guys then they would be fighting in an era of the “old” ufc, not the modern day mma!!!!!!

You have to realise that!!!!!

So the organisation of the ufc is what it is today because of Dana White not tito and the fighters….they provide the labour force behind the company, simple as that, they are the workers and once they retire or move on new fighters will take their place. One thing will remain, the organisation and job security for top level fighters, and that my friend is provided by the ufc and Dana White!!! Same as any other company!!
