MTV Mayhem: MMAs Jason Miller to host 'Bully Beat Down'

Super reality show creators Mark Burnett Productions, which has brought us such popular series on television such as "Survivor," "Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader?" and "The Apprentice," is poised to introduce a new program to the small screen with a mixed martial arts twist to it this summer.
"Bully Beat Down" is the title of the new offering and it will be hosted by none other than former Icon Sport middleweight champion --- who also happens to be among the most charismatic fighters in the world -- Jason "Mayhem" Miller.
The idea behind the show, which is scheduled to air on the MTV network, is to pull bullies from their schools and put them in real-life mixed martial arts matches against trained professional fighters. The first episode will air in Salt Lake City, Utah, and the initial fight will be regulated and governed by the Pete Sauzo Utah Athletic Commission
Sounds like a fair fight.
The quasi-retired Miller won't fight on the show, but he'll certainly play a big role as the host. And as we all know he's never at a loss for words.
However, temember that we will see him fight the last reigning Icon Sport middleweight title holder, Kala Kalohe Hose, at the Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu, Hawaii, on Saturday, March 28 in the main event of the new Hawaiian promotion, Kingdom MMA.
This will be Miller's first fight back since announcing his retirement from the sport around four months ago.

Wow! Great stuff McAurthur!
Hopefully its at 185 lbs

Franklin should stirr clear any former Chute boxe fighter and/or any one named Silva.
by PhilQNY on Feb 18, 2009 4:28 PM EST up reply actions
This fight is confirmed and they are fighting at a catch weight of 195 lbs. Franklin needs to avoid Brazilians named Silva with Violent Tai Clinches! UFC 99 in Germany!
I also hearing tons of Cro cop vs. Couture rumors for this card, but I think its BS!!!
Hope Franklin has his plastic surgeon near by!

I don’t see how this will work. How can up put a so-called bully with no professional fight experience up against a professional MMA fighter? First of all, are they just expecting some guy off the street to know MMA rules? Second, do they really think these matches will be even come close to competitive? Third and finally, I would love to know who is going to sanction a professional fighter taking on some chump off the street with no pro experience or training. This must be one of the stupidest ideas I ever heard, and will surely not do the sport of MMA any favors.

They did it on Pros vs. Joes. They threw three dudes into the cage with Randy. Whoever got tapped the fewest times won.
by PW on Feb 18, 2009 3:52 PM EST up reply actions
PW : the difference is this is a MMA fight.. that was more of wrestling thing..with Randy.

I can’t even remember the last time I saw a music video on MTV? I hope they have Rob Dyrdek vs. Chuck Liddell on the first episode. I used to skate for years, and Dyrdek was always a tool.

You don’t skate, you suck cock. Dyrdek has always been cool, just saying something that stupid reveals how little you know about skating. You fucking idiot.

They’ll probably have an up an commer instead of an established mma guy—- and the mma guy will be instructed to “go easy” on the bully, and make it look good for the cameras.
by Kdog on Feb 18, 2009 4:16 PM EST up reply actions
That sounds more likely than telling Anderson Silva to beat the crap out of some high schooler, but not nearly as fun to watch.

And MTV is known for such high quality and unscripted programming. This show will be of the air quicker than Joe Rogan’s “Game Show in My Head”

I like the idea putting bullies in a fight with an mma fighter to be taught a lesson that being a bully isnt cool and to show them what it feels like to be on the other end.

I agree, but you were definitely picked on as a child! hahah teasing!

Millers little act gets tiring after about 10 seconds.
by Chim Richolds on Feb 18, 2009 3:47 PM EST reply actions
Sounds like a pretty cool show with lots of laughs. Mayhem is really funny for an mma fighter. I think this will be similar to pros vs joes. The pro fighters will take it easy on the bullies, but still teach them a good lesson. Probably inspire all them mtv nerds to pick up mma. Hey, just look at how far Kenny’s gone, HELLBOWS !!! JK lol
by ktown on Feb 18, 2009 4:03 PM EST reply actions
Ill watch just for mayhem and to see some bullies get beat up.
It wont be on tv for long but mayhem will make it interesting!
WAR MAYHEM!

After the first fifteen are up, these clowns are going to be fabricating retards out of the woodwork as bullies. This is like the show Pinks on SpeedChannel.
Fools.

so basically Mtv saw a video of my friend fighting and they contacted him to see if he wanted to be a " bully ". well we did some typical scripted mtv bullshit in LA to lay the backdrop of how he is this bully etc…. Mayham part is basically as the host of the show he magically comes to where we are at ( on set in this seedy little bar) and proposes to my friend if he wants to fight an MMA fighter for 10 grand! he accepts, now the catch is it is 5 minutes of just ju jit su, and everytime the bully taps he losses 1000 dollars. then there is five minutes of boxing with 16 ounce gloves same rules apply, he losses 1000 everytime he is droped. it should be an alright show. my buddy is screwed he is going against a really legit top 10 ten dude. this will be hilariouse my friend is going to lose all his cash hahah

obviously this mma fighter was bullied.and didnt fight back when he was a kid so.he figured im going to train train and train as an mma fighter and fight in a safer-restricted environment..A SPORT…now im going to fight a young un trained bully….how weak!!! fight a real street fight (UNPLANNED OF COURSE—not kimbo backyard fight)against a street dude…and he’ll end up like Don frye and tito in real fights!!!flat—-no training no planning just impulsive fight
by weakling on Feb 19, 2009 2:23 AM EST reply actions
MAyhem is a fooooolio man!! Love em he needs to fight again and fight some good peeps too Akiyama comes to mind!
by Khaos_warrior on Feb 19, 2009 3:34 AM EST reply actions
Why reward the bullies? Wouldn’t it be better to pull the picked upon kids from school and have them fight instead?
I’d much rather see those kind of kids get some training and maybe some confidence than the bullies.
So great after the bully gets beat up he can go back to the school with some new fighting skills and his new tv infamy.
Oh yeah this sounds like a great idea…
