I thought this was gonna be a halfguard battle for a Tibau UD. Loved the crisp hands, he brought it hard and smashed him- No love for clementi(goldism of the day).

Clementi has trouble with guys who have good wrestling and submission defense. I would never pick him against someone like that. I saw this fight being a unanimous decision for Tibau, I was impressed he was able to stop Clementi. Not to mention Tibau was beating Joe Daddy decisively before getting caught in the guillotine, with his size and skill set he could have some success in the LW division.

I been telling you guys for about a year now to watch out for Tibau! He consistantly fights top guys. Doesnt always win, but he always makes it a FIGHT! He is huge for a LW, and very young but extremely skilled. He is a fighter to watch out for in the next 2 years! He will fight for the title and when he does, remember where you heard it 1st!
Cung Le called out Anderson Silva last night!

Too bad for Clementi that he got a hard fight like this, imo Tibau is better then any other LWs that was on the card..
He will come back though im sure, maybe to choke out A Johnson again and end the hype :)

What’s your issue with a talented prospect getting hype? The UFC/MMA is built on marketing stars, and he’s a tremendously talented young guy with a great future ahead of him. Such a hater.

i bet he doesn’t know that AJ took it on a week notice and cut 32 pounds yet still almost took his head off before gassing.

He doesn’t seem to care much for facts like that. AJ’s 2 loses are after taking a fight on short notice and having his retina detached from an eye poke. I don’t think either of them should be held against him. He’s going to be a star for a very long time.

Clementi will never get anywhere without taking hard fights…if he is going to be significant, he better learn to deal with stronger opponents like Maynard and Tibeau.

yeah but clementi was a dick in the ring, tibau did something and tried touchin gloves, clementi just kept wanting to fight

if someone smoked you in the head and then laughed and tried to slap hands, would you?

I never really cared much for Clementi. He has just never impressed me. Maybe I have just missed out on some of his good fights. If anyone knows of any Clementi fights that are impressive Id like to look them up.

Clementi is a bum are guys kidding me. He was a total jackpot on TUF and still is. Honestly he is one of those guys that thinks he is way better than he actually is.

I’d like to see Tibau take on Sherk. I think he’s one of the few LWs almost as strong, and his BJJ would help counter Sherk’s wrestling to make an exciting fight IMO.
by UFCAddict on Feb 8, 2009 3:32 PM EST reply actions
That would be too easy for sherk… i was thinking Maynard vs sherk. that would be way better of a matchup imo and his wrestling would match sherks.

Perhaps, but I think you might be underestimating Tibau’s BJJ. I don’t think Sherk would have an easy time with him, but I could be wrong. However, we may never know.

Tibau must be best friends with Thiago Alves, i bet both of them juiced together..

What a stupid comment. Get some evidence before saying that kind of s%&*. While Alves did use an unapproved diuretic, neither guy has ever tested positive for steroids.
