3 Title fights… whats the 3rd again?
97- Middleweight
98- Light Heavyweight
99-
100- Heavyweight, Welterweight,
101-
I’d say Nate or Maia vs Anderson at 100, since BJ isn’t being a champion and defending his belt. I love BJ and am a huge fan, but the LW belt hasn’t been defended since May last year, and the champ is completely able, and there are plenty of challengers, and even one clear cut challenger, yet we wait this long why? Damn this aggravates me…

I sure hope that the Coleman-Bonner fight is televised. Instead of Akiyama-Belcher. I think Akiyama will dissapoint anyways.

WHAT?
The Coleman before the Akiyama fight?
Akiyama is a very good fighter, the Coleman vs. Bonnar fight is going to be prolly the worst fight of the card!

Your going to be suprised by Akiyamas performance watch. He is going to lose to Belcher and the fight will be boring. Im a fan of Akiyama but yes i would rather see Coleman vs Bonner.

lesnar vs. mir…..fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. lesnar is going to knock the crap out of mir this time. he won’t be fooled again. the next big thing is going to rule ufc for a while. mir’s only shot will be a submission. lesnar has been training for him for months. the arm lock won’t work again.

I am definitely no fan of the WWE but come on guys. Did you watch their first fight? I truly thought the ref was calling it when they stood them up for the back of the head shots. The fix was in. They knew Mir was going to coach the ultimate fighter show and they wanted to teach Lesnar a lesson early in his UFC career. There should of never been a stand up. Mir was getting pummeled. The fight should have gone to Lesnar. As for everyone saying Mir is better than ever…..please. The NOG he fought was a shell of his former self. He was just standing there no, head movement and no aggression. Lesnar by KO in the second round after Mir gasses out as usual.

It what I was thinking for that card…if we are lucky we might see Randy vs Fedor. For Fedor first UFC fight, that will close that card pretty solid.

well the mir-lesner fight isnt gonna happen and i thought that the card would be better then this considering its 100… not real excited about it i think they should put fitch on the main card if this is all true. also matt grice the guy is awesome. i would also rather watch the bonnar-coleman fight then the belcher fight nothing against Akiyama because i would love to watch him fight but belcher is so cocky and annoying….. get him off the card please dana.. or even better get him out of the ufc… hey maybe this is what hes trying to do putting him up against these newcomers of the ufc

Dana certainly didn’t make MMA, that existed long before him and will continue to do so long after him. He did however have a major role in the UFC’s development. Don’t confuse the two!

yo buddy shut ur hole about GSP that is the biggest excuse i’ve ever heard anyone come up with….he stopped Penn with or without grease, penn didn’t even have a chance to clinch GSP because he was to busy getting punched in the face mr. i will never quit!!!
by Mitch on Mar 8, 2009 1:02 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
he didnt have a chance to clinch him or use his effective high guard because his arms and legs kept slipping right off gsp’s greased back. do i think gsp could have still won without cheating yes but you never know what the outcome would have been in a fair fight.
by matt on Mar 11, 2009 11:18 AM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
I agree, cheating is cheating and it did have an outcome on the fight. Everyone knows that Bj was going to rely on his Jiu Jitsu and boxing in that fight. And when he couldn’t get his high guard position because of the grease it just TAINTED the whole outcome of the fight! I hope BJ wins his case and this decision is changed to a no contest
by Pierre on Mar 13, 2009 10:14 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Oh ffs, the whole thing is so greatly exagerated. One of GSP’s cornermen rubbed vaseline on his face (totally legal) and then started doing a breathing exercise in which he puts his hand on GSP’s chest and then rubs his back. The transfer of vaseline, if any, would have been minimal and not affected the fight. There is footage of this breathing technique being used in St. Pierre’s fights against Jon Fitch and Matt Serra as well as in Penn’s fight against Sean Sherk. BJ is just an egomaniac who can’t deal witht he fact that he dominated by a totally superior athlete.
by Andrew barr on Mar 14, 2009 6:33 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Yeah Yeah GSP is the best pound for pound fighter in the world….quite possibly could be better than Spider(Coin toss) until they fight each other. BJ is such a baby needs every excuse in the book to cover up his previous statement about never quitting…he’s a joke he won’t even defend his belt….enuf said

I don’t know about ya’ll I do not like it when the UFC puts 2 titles on one card..that just means more hype = less fights
5 rounds = less time for 3 round undercard fights
by derreckla on Mar 8, 2009 5:00 AM EST reply actions 0 recs
not really dude, look at UFC 92 that was an amazing card, probably one of the best and it had the light heavyweight and the heavyweight title on the line.
by addiemac on Mar 8, 2009 11:50 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Plus, does anyone think the Lesnar – Mir fight is going more than a round? In theory what you’re saying is true, but that’s only the case when the fights go 5 rounds which I don’t think either of these will. We might actually get to see more fights than normal, because when they show fights off the undercard they generally get right to the fight instead of showing the pre-fight fillers with interviews, etc.

Kongo has a fight April 18. He may not be ready. How’s about Dos Santos/Carwin?
by YouveGotGold on Mar 12, 2009 12:01 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Anyone think they’ll start the PPV early (9pm) to allow them to show more fights? I mean, just with what they have now:
Lesnar/Mir – time block 45 – 60 minutes
GSP/Alves – time block 45 – 60 minutes
Hendo/Bisping – time block 25 – 35 minutes
Bonnar/Coleman – time block 25 – 35 minutes
Granted, I doubt that these all would go the distance, but from a production standpoint, you have to block the time, so we’re looking at 4 fights at 140 – 190 minutes. 4 fights could take up the full 3 hours on PPV. Now, I’d be very surprised if all of these fights went the distance, but still. Since it’s UFC 100, I’d love to see 6 fights and the PPV starting at 9pm, even if that means they charge $49.95 or $54.95.

by kyle on Mar 13, 2009 12:27 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
How the hell can dana be so stupid!!! hes turning this into a don king event…. not the best fighters challenge for the title, how the #%$^ can you slate the winner of hendo& bisbing fight for the title. CLEARLY ITS MAIA WHO SHOULD GET IT, or at least maia should fight the winner…then the winner of that gets title shot!!!!!!!!!!
by jim slezak on Mar 13, 2009 12:36 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Dana hasn’t said that the winner of Hendo/Bisping will get a title shot. Maia & Nate are both deserving as well and could possibly find themselves fighting each other at this event. With Anderson fighting in April, I think Dana is hoping he makes quick work of Leites and is ready to fight in July, truly solidifying this card with either Silva/Maia or Silva/Nate. Since Leites is a BJJ guy, maybe an alternate style if Silva dominates Leites.
by YouveGotGold on Mar 13, 2009 1:40 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
In the end Jim, it’s a business in a tough economy. Dana is interested in ratings and he should be. Hendo/Bisping are much larger draws then Maia who isn’t really known. Maia will get his shot, but in the UFC you need need both the skills and the public interest to make it. Until they actually have rankings for each division and not a matchmaker it will never change.
I believe your comment is ‘stupid’ for not figuring this out yet

Awesome card. Going to be a brilliant event.
I hope people can put personal opinions of fighters aside for one night, this is truely a celebration of MMA, how far it has come, and we will be treated some great fights. And all the fighters on the card, win or lose, should be celebrated. We got the best fighters from all over the world on the card, legends, the new wave, olympic gold medalists, scrappers, technical guys. Its just awesome.
This is a great event, not just for UFC, but for MMA. I cant wait. I hope people can look past all the politics and whos deserving or not, and just appreciate it.

great card.
by bigchief on Mar 18, 2009 5:06 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
What makes you say Lesnar is a bafoon bigchief? The fight will go the same as last fight Mir will get destroyed but this time Mir won’t be able to grab a limb from the much more prepared Lesnar. The Alves GSP fight will be GSP hardest fight to date and can go either way, I’m going to take the more experienced GSP but Alves is going to be a contender in this division for some time so we should see these two in few more battles. I think Dan has got use to this weight and should fight Bisping for a second chance at Silva were I think he will do much better?
by Beaver on Mar 21, 2009 11:14 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
I think you should personally let Brock know he is a buffoon. I’m sure he would appreciate the heads up. I see Brock as the favorite in this fight. Mir will play hell trying to submit him. Last time was a result of his inexperience. Brock has come a long way since then, and is still far more powerful than any other fighter in the UFC.

I know the ufc has to have some title fights before 100, but i still think you can just make Serra vs. Hughes at 98 a main event and put Rashad vs. Lyoto in 100. But i mean Alan Belcher vs. Yoshihiro Akiyama on the main card???? Put Gray Maynard vs. Tyson Griffin on that!

Their are two things I think would make this card that much better.
- Make it 1 hour longer on pay perview
- Demian Maia vs Nate Marquardt
The winner of this fight should face the winner of Silva VS Leites. Right now I think the UFC wants Maia to fight the winner of Silva Vs Leites.
Marquardt’s last two wins were very impressive, He should get a shot a Maia first.

I got a new idea People are always complaining about not seeing a certain fight on the undercard. How about the ufc saves 15 minutes for a prelim fight. And the viewers get to vote on which fight they wanna see. So u just send a text on the prelim fight u wanna see. Then when it comes time to broadcast it they go with the highest votes. To see which of there prelim fighters is more popular!

kimbo belongs in a cotton feild or at home collecting a unemployment check because nobodys wants to see him fight after a 15 second KO from some dude with pink hair

Compare the Achievements and Experience. all you thiago fans can only wish for a serra moment. aint gonna happen. IF thiago beats GSP it will be by Decision. but Thiago will gass after 3 rounds. im sorry, but im certain thiago wont be such a problem for GSP.

Don’t agree MMA040 IF thiago beat gsp it will be by tko, a decision is pretty unlikely a tko more so.

what the hell Lesnar against Mir is gonna be the best fight ive ever seen again the first time round lesnar lost because Mir is the best and lesnar was unexperienced but now he is one of the best at the moment what a fight thats gonna be. George st Pierre he is also one of the best amongst all the others that are on the card believe you me they wouldnt have been chosen to fight at such an important night for the UFC these fighters if not the best now obviously have the potential to be in the future

Jon Jones is gonna look amazing against Jake, I’m so excited to watch him fight again and I’m so happy they put him on the UFC 100 card, he really needs the exposure, dude’s a future superstar!!!
by Damian on May 24, 2009 10:39 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Jon Jones is definitely a potential star and very fun to watch however there is one thing that bothers me about Jones, yet it may be the one attribute that makes him what he is and thats his aggresiveness. I can see Jon Jones gettting over excited trying to finish a fight and possibley gettting caught by a more experienced fighter. I doubt it will be Jake OBrien but more likely down the road when hes faced with tougher competition. If the UFC is patient and lets him climb the LHW ladder all the while getting better then he could definitely make huge waves down the road. On top of that hes only 22 years old I believe.

Mir
GSP… Easy pick and you will all see on fight night.
Bisping/Hendo is a coin flip. Don’t care for either really.
Fitch
Belcher
Kim
Danzig
Jones
Coleman. Cause Bonnar is getting lame.
Don’t care for the rest..

Dan Henderson Vs. Michael Bisping ?
Yoshihiro Akiyama Vs. Alan Belcher ?
by Sean on Jun 26, 2009 4:39 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
im not sure who i got in the bisping/hendo fight~
it could go either way..
from a technical stand point, if bisping can defend the takedown and keep it standing, he has a great chance of winning on points…
that is if hendo doesnt catch him with a bomb[which is very likely].
as far as yoshi??, i already layed some action on him..
somewhat risky on account of its his debut in the ufc and new fighters tend to do horrible.. i will go against that and say im confident in a akiyama victory~

Okey, i see. Yoshihiro have not fought in 10 months doo..

Yoshihiro Akiyama vs. Alan Belcher should be a prelim. Put Jon Jones on the main card.
