"I think he's on drugs. Kenny trained in Hilo before I did and I got to talk to a bunch of guys out there to see what they thought I did compared to what he did. From what I understand, Kenny didn't like to spar or do any type of kickboxing because he didn't like getting hit. BJ and everyone over there was beating him up on his feet and on the ground? There's no way. BJ won the world championships without having a single point scored on him. In my fight against Kenny I did a thousand-a million times better than I ever did on my best day against BJ."
UFC lightweight Joe Lauzon tells radio show host Larry Pepe that Kenny Florian has literally no chance of defeating current lightweight champion BJ Penn when he eventually returns to the 155-pound division later this year to defend his title against "Ken-Flo," widely considered to be the number one contender in that division. It will be interesting to see when and if the fight takes place pending the final outcome of UFC 94's "Greasegate".

I think that this is good intell that JOe is sharing with us, I just question the timing. Joe should be preparing for his main event fighth in 2 days, but instead he is running his mouth about FLorian, BJ, and Hermes.
If JOe is focused, he beats lil heathen on the ground easily….and I was going tobet Joe BIG, but him spending the week talking about everything other then lil heathen scares me!
The part that interested me was when Joe said he did better in hios fight against Florian then he ever did on his best day against BJ. THats an interesting bit of info right there that I will keep in mind when its time to bet BiG on Penn!

joe wasnt running his mouth…he was asked “what do you think about kenny florian calling out BJ penn?” by an interviewer. i heard the whole interivew on the radio. and joe responded. he’s not gonna say “i really dont want to talk about that. im fighting in a couple weeks”. joe and bj are homies. btw this interview was done a couple days before ufc 94. and you guys are way off bout joe losing to lil heathen. joes gonna pound him out. mark it.

i’d have to disagree- If Joe is telling the truth so what that something from the past- and we all know fighters mature threw time, so maybe back then ya he didn’t want to get hit, but he’s gained some seriouse confidence after the roger fight, and of course the distruction of Joe stevenson… so i wouldn’t be too suprised of Ken wins this fight my money’s on him(except i don’t bet)

Diego was winning the standup the whole fight, what fight were you watching? He dropped Luigi more than once from punches and kicks. He was just having trouble getting the takedown, which you know that’s all Luigi trained for.

You may be right…Diego got skills…and is big and strong…but even to non Kenny fans…you can not under estimate him…
I still think that Diego’s 2 or 3 fights you speak of should be Stevenson and Florian…but since Florian has been here…he gets his shot (more than likely lose)…Diego fight Stevenson (will destroy Jodaddy) amd then let Diego and Florian fight…then if Diego wins that fight (2nd in the division) let him fight BJ.
I just think that Kenny has earned his shot…and he shot to revenge that loss…afterall it was two classes higher.

BNF, I think a rematch with Diego would be a lot more competitive than their first fight. I think that Kenny has improved a lot more than Diego since they fought on the TUF finale. Kenny has much better striking, and I could see him giving Diego some problems on their feet. Diego would definitely have an advantage on the ground, but Kenny’s bottom game isn’t bad either.

I personally think we’ll see an amazing performance by Joe this weekend. He is such an animal, such a tough kid, you gotta respect that. I think the loss to ken flo pissed him off and he’ll come back in a very strong way. Expect to see a lot from Joe in the near future. I’m calling it now…Joe=future of lightweight division. Cantwell=future of light heavyweight division.
As for Ken Flo vs. BJ, we all know who will win that. Bj is different at light weight. At WW he’s too fat, he doesn’t have to train, so he doesn’t. His lightweight fights look great, he lasts a solid 3 or 4 rds. instead of 1. No way Ken Flo beats him because when Penn’s not tired, he’s the best…bottomline.

You can’t say Kenny does not have the chance in the world because since he does, thats why we all love this sport. BJ needs to recover from his recent loss, toss the excuses and train for Kenny and give us one hell of a fight. BJ Penn vs Ken Flo, I think will be an exciting fight even though I think Penn will take it. Kenny, I feel ranks about 3 in the UFC Lightweight, Sherk at 2 and Penn #1.
