Always wondered if Condit was deserving of his position as one of the top 10 welterweights in the world…… This fight will tell me

I second that. I’m not sure what to expect. I’d like to say a decision, but a close UD. I don’t know for which fighter though. But whichever one I end up picking, the other will win.

I hope they stand the entire fight. Kampman is a beat of a kickboxer and Condit has some Brutal Muy Tai!
I would like to see the winner of this fight take on Marcus Davis. Looser should fight Lytle!

Honestly, I think that this is TOO stiff of a fight for Condit’s UFC debut. He dominated in the WEC, but his biggest knock from his haters was that he is too skinny and weak to hang with UFC WW’s. So what does the UFC do for his first fight? They match him up with a fighter that just dropped down from the MW division. Sure Martin was a pretty small MW, but I am sure he is naturally bigger than Condit.
Everyone here knows that I have been a big Condit fan for some time and have been greatly anticipating his UFC debut, I just never imagined it would be against the likes of The Hitman.
This fight is going to prove A LOT either way it ends. I am super intersted to see the odds on this fight.
The good thing about this fight is that they are both EXCELLENT strikers (Kampmann = kickboxing / Condit = Muay Thai), but they both also have very good BJJ. I would give the edge to Condit though, especially his guard.

Brock Larson vs. Jesse Sanders (20-4).

can’t wait for this fight!! More importantly, I’m thrilled to not be talking about BJ/GSP!

yea the hype around that fight was ridiculous.. like they were the greatest athletes to live on this planet! give me a break the UFC is good but it ain’t as good as they try to make it out to be… and they have too many events too close, make 1 event instead of 2 and stack the card and not just a good main event

An MMA organization was hyping one of their fights??!! How dare they!!
It was a fight between two of the sports p4p best and they are both champions. It definitely deserved the hype. Unfortunately the fight wasn’t as competitive as people would have liked, and the aftermath has been a complete mess.
A fight between two guys of that caliber deserved a lot of hype, though.

maybe MMA is the only sport you watch but i’m not that guy, even if i watch every event.. and what i meant was that they overhyped the fight it was almost overkill..

Cant argue about the overhype! too much! I dfont even know why we are still talking about that disappointing event!

Nashville is a great city to have an event. I’ve been there plenty of times and there is so much to do there.
Condit via sub 2nd round.

now that’s a quality fight, we finally get to see Condit in the ufc. stylisticly, this should be an exiting match up. i am picking Kampmann. i don’t think Condit’s style is fitted for the WH division.

man, this is a hard fight to pick. condit and kampmann are like two of my favorite fighters. what is i to do?
by JB on Feb 3, 2009 8:46 AM EST reply actions
Damn, seems like a lot of recent event I’ve been fans of both guys. This isn’t getting easier, but I’d take Kampmann here. I think he’s very very underrated. I think he could be near a title shot relatively soon, but it’ll be interesting to see how Condit does against stiffer competition. (which Kampmann, and other UFC welterweights undoubtedly are).

Am I the only one that thinks Carlos Condit is a total douchebag? He may run things in the WEC but hes not going anywhere in this UFC WW division. Kampmann by TKO.
by deathreat on Feb 3, 2009 5:05 PM EST reply actions
No I think hes a fuck stick if he was so good he would be in the ufc making real money thats why he fights in the wec because hes built like a 13 year old boy and would get his ass kicked by a man hell I would put money that cyborg could beat his narrow ass and shes a woman hell I LIke her to kick my ass.

According to wec.tv Condit pulled out of his fight against Brock Larsen due to a wrist injury. Then ufc.com announces Condit will face Kampmann on the exact same date …What gives???? These guys need to get their stories sraight
by JACK on Feb 3, 2009 7:07 PM EST reply actions
Condit v Larson would have been a better fight…I question Condit’s ability against “The Hitman”… He’s probably going to get knocked out.
