Keep in mind the salaries listed above do not include fight bonuses, sponsorships, percentages and other unofficial payments. It also does not include deductions for expenses such as insurance, taxes, etc.

For example, the UFC often hands out extra cash for "Fight of the Night," "Knockout of the Night" and "Submission of the Night." To check out these figures for UFC 94 go here.

The total base fighter payroll for the blockbuster pay-per-view (PPV) event, which attracted an unofficial near sellout crowd of 14,885 attendees and a monster gate of $4.3 million, was a hefty $1,057,000.

Jon Jones only made 14,000?
What’s up with that?

by Madnuts on Feb 1, 2009 5:06 PM EST reply actions

Pretty sure dana cut him an under the table check. Also i bet he signed a sh*tty contract since he was brought in on short notice and has less than 1 yr fight experience.

I wont hold Penn’s loss against anyone who picked him because he is a legit fighter,

….but anyone who pickd Thiago Silva to win should be ashamed of themselves. Besides the fact that he hasn’t even beaten a top 20 LHW, he made Tito Ortiz look good last night.

Man, BJ didn’t even show up to his after party at 54 after so many people flew out of hawaii to see him especially during these economic times. Even wand showed up after getting torched by Rampage. (He wasn’t in the hospital according to the story on themmanews)

by NameNotRequired on Feb 1, 2009 6:51 PM EST up reply actions

He went to the hospital. I’m from Hawaii and have a lot of friends who went to vegas for this one. I heard on the news that he was at the hospital and could not attend the party.

—Lemme just VENT right quite, as I am absolutly devastated and depressed, it is hard to watch your idol get smashed upon, it really is.
—It would have almost been better if Penn just got knocked out real quick, cuz thats just one hole in his game, one area of mistake GSP was able to beat him at, but no, GSP got him EVERYWHERE.
—Penn didn’t even show up, he pulled a BIG NOG in my opinion, not taken anything away from GSP or sayin he wouldn’t have won anyway, but god damn, that should have been a war, not a slaughter. I mean, Penn stuffed the take down a whole freakin round, then as soon as GSP got it Penn was like, “aw fuck it, cant stop it, might as well not even try”. Same with guard passing, Penn is a black belt, all he did to defend the pass was put his hand on GSP’s hip to stop him and thats it, freakin blue belt shit doesnt Penn have more than that? And while on the ground, where were all the stand up attempts like fight one? I didn’t see him push off GSP’s hips with his feet not even ONCE. No distance made, no attempts to get up. When he was up, where were all his strikes!!?? Like Joe, like Pulver, like GSP in the first fight, Penn comes right out and threw some kind of combo right away, aggressive and wastes no time. What the hell, he threw like 4 punches.
—So am I just blinded by bias and depression, or can somebody please tell me that at least a little bit of Penn I know was missing last night???

I think more GSP showed up than you expected, rather than less BJ. GSP said BJ would know right away that he wasn’t the same guy he fought before. I think Penn thought he was better and only lost the first fight because of cardio, but BJ should have realized that he stopped dominating that fight long before he gassed and he was only dominant when GSP couldn’t see. Penn wasn’t the only one that got completely dominated. GSP changed after he got humiliated by Serra and he mowed everyone over that has got in his way since. GSP now makes it a point to make a guy pay every single time he goes for a sub. He did it to Serra, Fitch and now BJ. I might be mistaken ,but I pretty sure GSP said it was his plan to not take BJ down right away because then it would be a straight BJJ match. He wanted to wear him out a bit first. GSP also said he broke Penn in the first round, that’s hard to hide, you can see it in ones eyes. I’m not trying to be a prick, just giving my honest opinion. I think alot of people were expecting a war that was never possible. GSP has improved so much since 58 and even that fight GSP controled the majority of it when he got his vision back. Now GSP is much better at inflicting damage while he has that control. I know it’s the same old crap I’ve been saying for the past 6 months, but that’s all I got, that’s the way I see it. Anyhow lets hope BJ comes back strong and we can do it all over with Kenny.

by Gord on Feb 1, 2009 10:33 PM EST up reply actions

I could tell BJ had been crying right before he came out from backstage. You can tell when BJ gets all emotional like when he won the WW belt from Matt Hughes and i think after he beat stevenson. I told the people at my house, and i still believe that BJ truly thought he would win and was emotional at the thought of being the only guy who held two belts at once in UFC history. I think he may have had an emotional energy dump backstage right before the fight and that may have led to his downfall.

by JRE on Feb 1, 2009 11:43 PM EST up reply actions

BJ didn’t have an off night GSP is just a different fighter than the first time they fought. Penn is a great fighter and the best 155er in the world but GSP is just better at every aspect of fighting than BJ and hes much stronger and has better cardio, so BJ could fight him 100 times and he’d lose 100 times. GSP has imrpoved leaps and bounds from their last fight BJ has improved slightly.

by GSP4Prez on Feb 2, 2009 12:04 AM EST up reply actions

Anamoly- i remember when Big Nog lost i was pissed off and snarky towards everyone for most of the next week. But as far as GSP, from the moment it was announced i just didn’t see anyother way the fight would play out. The overconfidence didn’t help either. If GSP can burn out fitch, there isn’t anyone else he can’t do that to. GSP4Prez is dead right on the money.

by NameNotRequired on Feb 2, 2009 12:45 AM EST up reply actions

JRE, I thought BJ was tired from lack of sleep due to anticipation of this fight. He had bags under his eyes and looked nervous, not fresh n’ confident like his fights at 155lbs, nervousness is an energy killer. I didn’t like the extra weight he carrying either, which is another issue that tells me he couldn’t have possibly been in the best shape of his life. All that aside, an undersize BJ was no match for a mature and improved GSP and never will be even on his best day.

by DAVE on Feb 2, 2009 3:20 AM EST up reply actions

I was a member of Team Penn….as soon as I saw the way BJ looked when he made his enterance….Iknew that he had no chance!

JRE made an amazing point, I thikn his emotions could have caused an energy dump. Oh well, he gopt dominated any way I try to spin this thing.

I take my losses like a man. Great performance by GSP!

by john on Feb 2, 2009 8:40 AM EST up reply actions

GSP4PREZ, GSP is not better than BJ at every aspect.

GSP is NOT a better boxer than BJ.

In straight up BJJ, GSP is not better than BJ.

Other than that thought, GSP got him beat in everything else.

HEY JOHN, never too early to start thinking how to win back to BJ money. How about a Lauzon/Cain parlay for fight night? $100 wins like $70 or so. I might play it SUPER safe at that event and just risk $120 on Cain to win $20. It should be a guaranteed $20. Anyone know anything about his opponent? I haven’t even “googled” him yet.

by ViolentMike on Feb 2, 2009 9:57 AM EST up reply actions

J-lau and Cain are great bets! If either lose, then I dont know anything about this sport!

i will be back, betting with a vengeance!

I’m thinking Lyoto vs Fedor.

by RyanHobbs on Feb 1, 2009 7:57 PM EST up reply actions

lyoto would methodically pick fedor apart.. fedor may have serious power but machida would do same as he did to silva this fight move and stick.. fedor leaves to many openings standing as shown by arlovski and fujita if you watch how he got caught he just dropped his hands and lead with his chin straight into punches.. lyoto LOVES people like that..

i see lyoto in the next 2 years being best P4P fighter out there unless a.silva is still fighting

by randy murders on Feb 1, 2009 10:26 PM EST up reply actions

I don’t think Anderson could beat Machida. Machida is like a ghost who you only see (or should I say feel)appear every once in a while when your eating leather. They train together, so I’d imagine they have a pretty good idea who would get the upperhand. To bad they will never fight. Befriending someone in your own weight class should be banned, lol.

by Gord on Feb 1, 2009 10:43 PM EST up reply actions

Machida obviously made a huge rise in the P4P rankings but I still have Anderson as No. 1, although the gap between him and GSP is about as wide as a fingernail. In a fight between Anderson and Machida, I think Anderson would win just because he’s so dynamic with his striking that if anyone could pick Machida apart it’s him. And I also have Rampage ahead of Machida on my rankings because I think the power of Rampage would suffocate Machida, take him down and gnp him.

by ---Caesar--- on Feb 1, 2009 8:26 PM EST up reply actions

The UFC needs to pay fighters more, almost of the pays are ridiculously low. Take a look at how much they cleared in 08. Greedy bastards come to mind.

by syncro on Feb 1, 2009 10:14 PM EST up reply actions

I think they are still trying to get that 40 Million back they stepped up with.

granted, they are going to run into a fighters union type problem soon, but the fighters sign the contracts, no one is forcing them to fight.

Zuffa has put in a truckload of their own cash, on hand or borrowed, and like any business, want/need to make it back and then some.

He’s still a nube.
The longer you stay in the UFC the more you get paid.
Pretty simple actually.

by scissorfight on Feb 1, 2009 5:07 PM EST reply actions

and thats not including what he made off of sponsers, which makes fighting in the ufc so lucrative. i also read that gsp an bj will get a % of the ppv sales, which could translate into millions.

by b.w. on Feb 1, 2009 5:29 PM EST up reply actions

I wonder how they decide how much a fighter gets paid. Like Gono making more base pay than Fitch or Karo making $40k base.
I always thought contracts decided that stuff and your contract was based on your draw power.

The sad part about that is he had his mouth peice hanging half out of his mouth after the first 2 minute, sucking wind. He probably likes it loose so he can spit it out to get more air. He’s never in great shape, but that was the worst he ever looked.

by Gord on Feb 1, 2009 10:49 PM EST up reply actions

I don’t know if it was his conditioning that was as big as an issue as him using a cheap mouthpiece. When the ref went over to his corner in between rounds his cornerman said something about it being a bad mouthpiece that wasn’t staying in well. Joe Rogan commented on it too.

That said, What’s up with Fitch getting a base of 16k !???

Pierre made out big time, and BJ did good too.

80k is twice what Karo “Broski” Parysian should be making.

Guida will probably getting an increase and Bonnar a decrease!

NEXT MATCH-UPS I’D LIKE TO SEE:

-GSP/A. Silva
-Sherk/Diego
-BJ/Hughes III
-Q Jax/Evans
-Wandy (IS moving to 185) / Leben or Bisping
-Carwin/Velasquez
-Forrest Griffen/Q Jax II
-FITCH/KOS
-Huerta vs Guida II (for Huerta’s going away beating)

Boys, am I the only one the thinks a pro fighting for the UFC should be get way more then $3000 to show? Total BS. If the UFC doesn’t want to see a fighter’s union in about ten years it better sort out the pay!

by SilasM on Feb 1, 2009 5:41 PM EST reply actions

no, you’re not the only one. there are plenty of of other whiners ou there. why do people care what these guys make? i dont care what anyone makes. do you want your butcher or mechanic or gas jockey to make more money? how about cops or firemen? whine about teachers salaries if anything, they make people smarter and have an acual purpose in the development of society. fighters, actors, singers etc are entertainers and if they dont like the money they make from playing their sport they can join the rest of society like us. the more they make the more we will pay to go to their events and probably even pay $75 for a PPV. do the math. if a guy makes 10g to show for a fight and fights 4 times a year, he make 40g a year and thats not even winning bonus. so if he wins 3 of those a year hes up to 70g a year, which is pretty decent wages. add in sponsoring plus possible fight of the night bonus and hes lookin pretty decent. if one cant do that good then he probably shouldnt fight anyways and become regular folk just like you and me. this is capatalism at its finest, the base of your society that you proud americans brag is so great.

by Egads on Feb 1, 2009 6:07 PM EST up reply actions

by chefdaddy on Feb 2, 2009 5:56 PM EST up reply actions

Gotta call BS on this. The UFC is the “show”. Dana likes to tell us that this is where all the best fighters fight. If that’s true, they should be paid like they are in the “elite” promotion. Most of these guys have already paid their dues in the scrub circuit.

by SilasM on Feb 1, 2009 7:18 PM EST up reply actions

you are right, dana should use the same pay structure model that elite and affliction uses. or maybe we should comapare the ufc to say baseball where middle relief pitchers who face 5 batters a week, have a 5 and 5 record with an era of 4.75 and make 5 mill a year. kinda like a karo or guida types. you know the ones who arent elite but will fill in cards. which side will you be on when you pay $75 for a PPV? what about when affliction goes down, will it have anything to do with the high salaries they are paying? no it wont have anything to do with that. do you have any idea how many more staff there is in making an event like this fly? i dont but im sure its alot. or maybe those background guys get paid in tapout t shirts and free beer for the night.

by Egads on Feb 1, 2009 7:31 PM EST up reply actions

LOL, come on Egads, are you telling me that paying the lower down fighters a living wage would significantly increase the UFC’s overhead. Seriously? If these boys were paid, say, $15,000 a fight and fought 2 to 3 times a year they would just survive given the cost of training. The UFC would still be able to cover the cost with the live gate alone; they wouldn’t even have to touch the PPV revenue.

by SilasM on Feb 1, 2009 8:42 PM EST up reply actions

another part of the problem contributing to pay structure is sponsorship of the UFC as a whole. bear in mind, mma isn’t even sanctioned in all the states yet. that should tell you that this thing is still pretty fringe. harley davidson and bud light aren’t paying the UFC the same as they would another sport.

by JB on Feb 1, 2009 8:44 PM EST up reply actions

true, i see that maybe the bottom end guys could be paid a wee bit more. its just that plenty of people think 40g to show for some is too low. as a tradesman with almost 2 journeyman tickets i had to pay my own way through both courses in another town, pay for my own tools, gloves boots and all and still got paid crap wages when i started out. its a fact of life for most of society i just dont understand why celebrities get put on pedastals. im a fan of plenty of these guys but if they dont like it they can leave and i wont miss them, they will get replaced. if another company can make it work while still paying all these big wages, then good for them, that is capatalism (that isnt meant to be a dig :) )

by Egads on Feb 1, 2009 9:07 PM EST up reply actions

“should use the same pay structure model that elite and affliction uses”???
you mean the elite that burned through a whole stack of money and toppled? If the talent starts leeching too much money there won’t be any room to expand. This sport is in its infancy and look at all the casualties so far. I’d rather see dedicated athletes like the olympians who make even less… rather than the overpaid children playing baseball and football.

by Baxter on Feb 1, 2009 10:19 PM EST up reply actions

did you read past my first sentence?

by Egads on Feb 1, 2009 10:39 PM EST up reply actions

Agreed, $40000 to show may be too much for a lot of guys. I still say $15000 is doable.

by SilasM on Feb 1, 2009 11:04 PM EST up reply actions

A co-worker and I discuss this almost daily. Once you reach the UFC level, this should be your job and you should be paid accordingly. The expense of training must be hard enough never mind worrying where the money comes from to feed yourself and/or a family.

Dana has said many times the UFC cannot be compared to baseball or other sports that have been around for decades. It’s total crap. They make millions on each PPV and can well afford 50K for undercard fighters and 60-80K (minimum) for the televised fighters. Headliners, well, higher than that.

This backroom cheque-writing based on what he thinks is fair is not the way to go. Hopefully, the fighters get it together for themselves.

by DJ on Feb 1, 2009 6:40 PM EST up reply actions

Havent you noticed that the other organizations that pay their fighters more (Arlovski making 1.2 million in Affliction) are out of business or very close to it… trust the UFC, they know how to run a business!!!

by ---Caesar--- on Feb 1, 2009 8:31 PM EST up reply actions

I’m not talking paying people millions or even 6 figures. I’m talking about $15000 or so a fight; a living wage. Nothing that is going to make them reach or hurt the UFC.

by SilasM on Feb 1, 2009 8:43 PM EST up reply actions

And almost all fighters get that much, or well over 15k. 3 fighters out of 20 on this card didnt make 15k, and they are all new to the UFC.

by ---Caesar--- on Feb 1, 2009 11:14 PM EST up reply actions

if i got an offer to fight a pro fight in the ufc for 3000$ id honestly take it.. with our economy the way it is now thats a good month salary, not to mention they hand out money afterwards and whatknot, and he probably got a 10k contract after the fight

by randy murders on Feb 1, 2009 10:32 PM EST up reply actions

Ya, newfie they were asking penn “do you know where you are” not a good sign. Fitch put up much much more of a fight than penn did, I was totally flabbergasted, I thought gsp would have had a hard time with penn, he passed his guard like nothing. Gsp said you’ll see him fight penn in a way that no one has ever done before, and damn was he right.

And what the hell is up with Fitch on the under card and making 34k to show and 34k to win, thats crap, he just fought for the title and went 5 rounds with one of the best P4Per’s there is. Fitch gets no respect in the UFC, he seriously needs a new contract.

Somebody’s making bad businiess decision.Affliction or UFC??
If Affliction folds some of their figthers will end up in UFC and will have to take huge cut on the paycheck
On the other hand if Affliction stays aflot we can see more fighters leaving UFC (Fitch, Koscheck…)

by lukasz on Feb 1, 2009 6:07 PM EST reply actions

affliction has only had 2 shows. they are by no means established. if they are still around in a couple of years then i agree ufc will have to pay out alot more

I think you are right. If, and it’s a big if, Affliction stays around for another year or so and continues to pay substancially more I can see the UFC losing fighters. That said, the UFC would likely increase fighter if they lost a couple more headliners.

by SilasM on Feb 1, 2009 7:21 PM EST up reply actions

GSP and Penn def walk away with more than Arlovski made after the PPV buys %. Also go check out the great the affliction and see what they paid the bottom guys.

by fokman on Feb 1, 2009 10:25 PM EST up reply actions

think about those gyms they are getting as well, and im sure each fighter will have one (kos, fitch, hendo, randy, rampage) etc and they all will get a % of the video game money, exposure for sponsorship offers,as well as the potential for a 65000 bonus check

by randy murders on Feb 1, 2009 10:35 PM EST up reply actions

If Affliction doesn’t topple, the salaries are going to go down.
I just hope mma doesn’t turn into boxing.

by Baxter on Feb 1, 2009 10:26 PM EST up reply actions

I think this is kind of shit pay. UFC has most of the best fighters in the world and makes a ton of money. They should pay their fighters better.

by Bill Maher on Feb 1, 2009 6:16 PM EST reply actions

They should’ve made a Decision of the Night bonus.

by Lights Out on Feb 1, 2009 6:32 PM EST reply actions

nice call!

by georgef on Feb 1, 2009 10:09 PM EST up reply actions

Pay is pretty shite… but I’m sure GSP and BJ made a % of PPV buys. Yah – Arlovski made $1.5 mil, but Affliction is going under and he won’t have anymore fights. Hope he doesn’t spend it all…

the money is fair for entry level fighters. all it is, is an opportunity to showcase your talents. if you are good you will be paid accordingly if you are not you wont. if you come on strong like jon jones for example you can restructure your contract. dana is good about giving most people at least 2 chances to show what they can do

“I’m going to go to the death” – BJ Penn……… the very same BJ Penn who quit on the stool.

Perhaps he got vaseline in his eyes and that’s why he didn’t know where he was???

HA!

by Foamdome on Feb 1, 2009 7:14 PM EST reply actions

We get it bro, he quit and GSP is better than him, move on.

by ( (AdamG ) ) on Feb 1, 2009 9:29 PM EST up reply actions

Adam don’t be a bad sport (which u have NOT been, so far) BUT if BJ had won you would STILL be singing praises so check it and relax!

Not to mention your the king of putting a BJ quote in many of your posts…..hard to swallow, i know.

BTW, i remember you saying if BJ lost you would be here the next day hyping him up for his Defense against Florian. Start your engine!

by SoCalStunNa on Feb 1, 2009 10:26 PM EST up reply actions

lol, i wanna see Penn say he still fighting before i spend another second of my time on him, then we’ll talk. . . BJ BJ BJ!!!

lol sounds like a good plan!

But even tho his ego has taken a hit i’m sure he’ll continue fighting as long as he is the LW Champ.

So when are they going to disclose how much Dana makes?

by justagirl on Feb 1, 2009 7:33 PM EST reply actions

I heard that Vaseline has signed on as a sponsor for GSP. So did Electic Slide and KY. Penn also got a new sponsor – W.A., better known as Whiners Anonymous. GSP is going to make a lot of money with his sponsors – Penn will become a member of his sponsors groups.

jones’ performance stood out the most to me, i am now a big fan of jon jones and expect him to be top 5 lhw within the next 5 years. hes so young and such a beast. expect more of these kinds of guys

by Jared on Feb 1, 2009 8:20 PM EST reply actions

Jon Jones had some of the sickest Greco Roman throws I have ever seen outside of the olympics. The belly to back, the belly to belly, and that hip toss thing he did when he was in the clinch. I do not even know what the hell that was, but it was insane. He is 20 or 21 with only 3 actual fights since 6 of his fights came in 1 night at an mma tournament.

As far as BJ goes. I think Joe Rogan summed it up the best when he said, When a big man and little man are pretty equal in aspects of fighting the size advantage will make the difference. It showed on Sat. night. His size just tired him out. GSP and BJ have both grown leaps and bounds since their last fight, but GSP’s growth was so much more.

I am suprised to see so many Machida fans! It was not very long ago that everyone was making fun of him comparing him to Kaleb Starnes. He is an amazing fighter who has combined the in and out aspects of karate with with traditional thai and western boxing. He is never where the fighters need him to be in order to land their strikes against him.

Is it me or does Clay Guida just never really seem to do anything in his fights? I mean he always sticks on to whoever he is fighting but to me it just never seems as though he accomplishes much either in the form of damage. He did control Nate Diaz the first to rounds but he did nothing to inflict any damage. He just stayed clinched to his back, like a dog trying to mount a bitch in heat. He keeps a great relentless pace, amazing conditioning, but it just seems that he never has anyone hurt. Nate Diaz did not have a scratch/bump/ or anything for that matter at the end of the fight. What gives?

by Da Monkey on Feb 2, 2009 7:57 AM EST up reply actions

I’m happy they gave Clay Guida a good sized bump up.

by DSmith on Feb 1, 2009 8:50 PM EST reply actions

why? are you a fan of gay porn, because thats all i pretty much saw from him. it was either missionary style or standing doggie style in my eyes.

by Egads on Feb 1, 2009 9:11 PM EST up reply actions

Jones looked pretty bad ass. And exciting too. 3 maybe 4 fights with some good competition and he’ll be knocking on the title shot door maybe brandon vera next?

by Wingblade on Feb 1, 2009 9:40 PM EST reply actions

haha vera would get tooled, but than again he is a tool. WAR JONES

by Jared on Feb 1, 2009 10:37 PM EST up reply actions

Jones looked impressive but really needs to work on his cardio before he even thinks about making a run for the title. He gassed out in the 3rd and there is a lot of guys at 205 that would make him pay if he did. Rampage, Forrest, Machida, ect.

I dont leave to many post’s…But what happens to all the bj fans who you thought he was god?.Do you jump on gsp’s bandwagon now? or is he still the man?.GSP showed him the man he was, to much talk NO ACTION, frickin’ idiot

HEY BJ WHEN YOU GOT TO YOUR ROOM AFTER THE FIGHT DID YOU F&%K YOURSELF….I JUST HAVE TO SAY THAT YOU PUNK’D YOURSELF FOR TALKING TRASH AND NOT EVEN MAKING AN ATTEMPT TO BACK IT UP….YOU DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING IN THAT RING TO MAKE YOU LOOK LIKE A PRODIGY….YOU LOOKED LIKE A LOSER AND A FOOL FOR THE WAY YOU TALKED BEFORE THE FIGHT….BJ YOU GOT MY VOTE AS THE NUMBER ONE NO CLASS ACT OF A GUY…. HELL YOU WERE ALSO CALLING EVERY UFC FIGHTER WHO HAS TAPPED OUT A QUITTER WHICH IS SO DISRESPECTFUL TO THE WHOLE SPORT….HEY PRODIGY YOU NEED TO GROW UP….

Does anyone have a guess as to what % the stars like GSP and Penn get from PPV? Just wondering…

by SilasM on Feb 1, 2009 11:07 PM EST reply actions

I’d be interested to know how much these guys in sposorships, I would guess it would cover training camps at least. Anyone know?

by scissorfight on Feb 1, 2009 11:33 PM EST reply actions

*Sponsorships

by scissorfight on Feb 1, 2009 11:33 PM EST reply actions

First post since the fights… first off I agree that GSP was amazing and always improves, however something didnt seem right with BJ throughout?? As most regulars will know im not a bj fan im an (iceman follower) so no sideing on my part. I just feel that penn had a serious off night or something wasnt right, plus I genuinly think he has under-trained once again!!!

I didnt like the disrespect bj showed in the build up to this and I guess its came back to haunt him. GSP v A Silva….who knows? The only way GSP IMO to win this fight is via wrestling, his striking is good, buts its not at the level of Anderson, plus his chin wouldnt be able to withstand much punishment at that weight!

Machida looked the part, but I think thiago basically showed us all that although he was undefeated his first defeat was right around the corner, no chin, no movement, very disappointed!! Machida v Evans sometime in May surely!!

Iceman to go on a solid run …..pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeez!!!!

by mo on Feb 1, 2009 11:56 PM EST reply actions

we have had a freaking ice storm and my power been of all week. Wathed the fights at a friends.
Karo=fat weak little b#@%h
Clay=wet blanket and hate watching him fight,if fighting is what you call what he does
Jon=good performance and has a bright future
Lyoto= fucking bore and want to see him stand and trade with anyone just once without running or being elusive(sarcasm)
GSP=i used to be an avid GSP hater but he is a classy guy and a good fighter and is starting to grow on me.GSP is a robot
GGGGGGGOOOOOOOOOOOOOO STEELERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

also i have a ? for anyone please. what was the song that Thiago Silva came out to

by SluggerCitySoldier on Feb 2, 2009 12:01 AM EST reply actions

I was very disappointed with the way BJ laid there and took his beating. I think he was just overwhelmed by GSP and wanted to survive. That being said, I hope to see BJ back at 155 defending his belt. He got beat last night but he’s still one of my favorite fighters. Loyoto looked really good or Thiago looked really bad, it could go either way for me. What is everyone’s thoughts on the upcoming Brock vs. Mir fight?

Karo making more than Fitch is ridiculous. I guess Fitch should have signed his rights over for that video game sooner. He got punished.

by UFCAddict on Feb 2, 2009 5:37 PM EST reply actions

Dong Hyun Kim’s decision loss was the most pathetic thing I’ve ever seen. If there was ever any evidence of biased judges, it had to be that. Karo gets completely dominated most of the fight, with the exception of a few poorly attempted Judo throws, and he gets the win? Sad.

by MMAFan on Feb 3, 2009 3:20 PM EST reply actions

As many problems as a Fighter’s Union will cause, I’m still in favor of it for the fighters’ sake! Although, I’d much rather see the UFC take better care of their fighters without it leading to a Union. Unfortunately, Dana “Don King” White is too damn greedy and will probably never compromise!
