carrying the extra weight will not help penn, how much weight does gsp have to cut to get down to 170, if this goes the distance gsp has it, hell after the 3rd i think bj will be totally be worn out, yeah he beat a cardio machine in sherk, but sherk played right into his gameplan, the pressure gsp will put on him will be too much to overcome! gsp tko in the fifth!

BJ always talks trash even about fighters he is not fighting. I like to watch him fight but he has no sportmanship. Like when Hughes lost to GSp, he was calling hughes all kinds of names and saying he was a scared pus$$. Funny coming from a guy who was tko’d by hughes. Not unless he has gained a bunch of weight. GSP has been right around 187 lbs for a long time. I think that’s Rashad’s way to comfort his ego when he gets dominated in wrestling by a smaller fighter. Doesn’t matter what he weighs, like Jardine said," I don’t think people realize just how strong Georges is, he’s stronger than most LHWs". He will maul BJ anyhow, his strength has went through the roof since he hired a strength and conditioning coach.

Yup, doin the lists keeps me motivated for the fight when the hours get long waiting. The Primetime hasnt started for me yet, wonder why, starts at 9 here, bay area california. The only way gsp gets this is to go for takedowns and lay on him and hit him a max of 3 times when he has him down then bj gets up again and pierre repeats the same thing doing no real damage to penn (kind of like there first fight)

i think GSP will use a similar approach to his fight with matt serra. taking him down and going back up and back down and up. to test and wear down bj’s cardio to the max. when GSP gets a takedown (he will get many) he will prob throw some knees to the ribs too, since a broken rib will mess anyones cardio up, setting him up for an easy ko or tko victory

BJ is going to grab a giant stone, cuff himself to GSP and plunge into the deep water right out of the gate. He’s never going to let GSP set up and find his rhythm. The best way to beat GSP is to take him out QUICK, before he can slow the fight down into an endurance contest with long range kick boxing thrown in.
BJ will come out so aggressive that GSP will be backing up. GSP is going to force a takedown because of the pressure and it’s gonna cost him in some way, whether he catches a knee, gets reversed, or whatever. The fight will be over in a sudden flurry, leaving a shocked audience wondering how the hell did that just happen.

Adam G, I appreciate the time and effort that you have put into making a list of each the predictions for the fight. Here is hoping to a great fight and that no matter what happens that both fighters look legendary in the fight and make it interesting. I really wanna see a great war, nothing that ends quick. Im praying that this one can hold a candle to the Griffin and Bonner match with the excitment and back and forthness of that one. Gsp is very hard to hit directly, bj’s 2 hits that messed up gsp were glancing blows, eye jab and the uppercut clipping the nose, and serra grazing the back of gsp’s head. I Highly doubt penn tko’s gsp, am a little confused as to why so many predict this, penns best chance is either a close decision or a sub victory.
People are giving gsp very little credit here, and don’t realize how good gsp is at avoiding direct hits. He’s the best striker other than machida penn has faced and machida was lame back then compared to how he is now, a t(ko) victory for penn is a long shot.
Sherk goes 3 full rounds with penn, penns most recent fight and gsp is going to get destroyed on the feet?…thats stupid, gsp would kick the shit out of sherk on there feet, you guys are illogical. You don’t think gsp has been preparing for months knowing penn will come out like a wildman throwing bombs?, he’ll be ready. I think if penn wins it will be by submission and if gsp wins it will be by decision.

I said the hits that actually HURT him were glancing blows, ya he punched him a lot, but not very directly. I have no doubt gsp gets hit by penn on saturday but I doubt he’ll get rocked, if penn wins its either going to be a sub or a small majority or split dec. I think if gsp wins its either going to be a dec or ref stoppage due to strikes, we’ll see, if I’m wrong about this I’ll be very surprised. 2 days left. go gsp!!!

Nathan, my prediction for Fedor/AA didn’t suck. Given how hard it is to predict something as chaotic as an mma fight when you try to go into play by play detail.
Here’s what I got right:
1. The W, obviously.
2. Fedor finishing him towards the end of the first round.
3. That they would come out and AA would be bouncing around in his Roach-approved boxing stance, he’d throw a jab or two and Fedor would hop back while calculating the range between them and then step back into the pocket and start swinging his sledgehammers.
That all happened.
4. Then I said that AA would handle the pressure better than Silvia and would circle away, still boxing.
That happened.
What I got wrong was that Fedor’s strikes would bother AA more than AA’s bothered him. AA was clearly getting off first. Though I doubt Fedor was bothered. He said after that none of the punches were hurting him and he was just trying to time AA for a big shot.
5. Then I said they would clinch up.
Happened.
I got it wrong about AA not wanting to trade anymore because Fedor’s strikes would be bothering him more than his bothered Fedor. But then I said:
6. AA swings for the fences.
The flying knee was a version of swinging for the fences. In response, I said Fedor would use the opportunity to take him down and then finish him with a sub. We all know what happened after that, but if AA’s chin was a little stronger (tho that punch drops anyone IMO when you jump into it like AA did) and he just went down, but not out, Fedor would have likely finished him a la Silvia.
So, Nathan, I didn’t exactly nail it completely, but I got enough right that you should be worried about changing YOUR NAME in a couple days to something like “I LUV BJ FOREVER.”
I’ve got BJ finishing GSP early in the fight, after hurting him with a big strike. Take that to the bank, son. I’ll meet you back here after, if you are as visible as you were before, with all your flip flopping about how GSP might win.

All I can say revjames is LOL you think too much, be prepared to be surprised. I know this fight could go either way, you crack me up rev, I don’t like penn period but am honest enough to admit he’s a formidable foe. Gsp is going to give him hell too in my estimation and I think it will be a close fight, well see, talk is cheap. :P

Yeah gotta agree there, probably do think to much. And I admit GSP is not only a formidable foe, but probably the toughest guy Penn will ever face in his career. He’ s going to need the fight of his life and then some to do what I’ve been predicting.
But yes, talk is cheap. Time to shut up and watch the fight and hope it is the all-time classic that it deserves to be.
