Jens Pulver video: Back to the drawing board after three straight WEC losses
Lil’ Evil has more to say in a recent entry from his official blog:
"... I do not know where I am gonna go from here and I do not know if you all just watched the last fight for lil evil. I know this I have battled all they put in front of me and I know I have always tried to do my best out there. I have been open and honest for the most part when talking and answering any question asked. I love this sport and I have loved watching it grow and become bigger and bigger as each month passes. I guess it is time to just go home and figure out where to go next. I can say this it has been an honor to fight in front of all of you who have taken the time watch and all of you who take the time to come on here and say whats up. I wish you all the best in the world. again my apologies to my family, my camp at AMC and to my fans."

i agree long gone youll never see him beating a contender, he lost his ability to take a solid shot

What? That isnt the case at all. I do agree that he needs to go back to the drawing board, but he can still take a good shot.
You havent seen his last few fights obviously. He took numerous “great” shots against Faber the first time.

yeah he is about done, he could give some of the up and comers in the wec a fight or at least get them some exposure fighting a big name but he should not fight any of the top guys at 145.

hey guys, off topic but I need to say it! I ordered some NO explode yesterday from feel it nutrition (mmamania sponsor on top of page), Regular ground shipping! It said I’d get it in about 7 days! Not even 24 hours later, I got the supplement already! Great service!!

Jeremy Stevens is replacing Hermes Franca in the main event against JOe Lauzon!
by john on Jan 27, 2009 4:33 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
NIIIIICE!!!!! I like this matchup better than the Franca matchup. Stephens is a fucking BEAST! Should be a good fight for both guys. Stephens has phenomenal sub defense (even though Din Thomas armbarred him), and crazy power. I loved the Dos Anjos uppercut. But Joe has got crazy power too. Ko’ed Jens man. Hung in there with Kenflo for the first round, and is open to trying crazy moves (the flying heel hook attempt his last time out). This should be a crazy fight. Capable of ending in a KO, Submission, UD, or SD! I got no predictions for this.
John, you had better be right!! I will hi-jack your screen name if it doesn’t happen, and I know how much you hate that!

I like the match up as well, and am a big fan of lil heathen, but I dont know if he can stop Joe from taking him down and pounding on him. Joe takedowns are relentless, does Stevens have what it takes to keep it standing where he can use his big punching power? Not so sure!
Advantage: J-lau!
when am I not on point baby?

Franca was a much tougher fight for Joe than lil heathen, imo; Stevens can hit but he doesn’t have the ground game/fighting experience of Hermes.

he can always fight in Japan, Dream or Sengoku, or maybe compete in the upcoming Bellator promotion. Either way, I’d still like to see him continue fighting.

I would like to see how he does in the dream Fw Grand Prix!

his only losses at 145 are to faber and lenard, he is still relevnet and a big draw for wec so he wont go no where, maybe even fight in wec’s 155, there are still fights for him, im still a fan.

he could hang with half of there 170lbers too, he got caught by garcia, and faber everyone has a skid of losing at some point he just needs to make some adjustments and move camps, greg jackson or xtreme couture seem to have the best camps around right now ATT isnt to bad but its not quite got the stable the other 2 have

Same here, I don’t think its time to hang up the gloves yet! Three in a row sucks but 2 of them are to the same guy that makes almost anyone’s p4p list out there! Jens isn’t too old to fight; he’s definatley taken some dmg in his carreer but if he still loves what he’s doing he should continue imo. I’m still a Pulver fan, always will be.
WAR PULVER!

Miletich camp isn’t quite enjoying the same success it used to have. Perhaps Jens needs to look at training elsewhere, like randymurders mentioned. I know this guy can win, but I’m not sure he can hang with the contenders if he keeps training the same way with the same people.
by WebGarden on Jan 27, 2009 3:20 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
yea miletich once was great but jens is a 145lber he needs to train with lower weight guys with speed otherwise he’ll just get worked on by these guys, ultimate fitness has plenty of lighterweight guys he could train with and urijah faber owns it
by randy murders on Jan 27, 2009 3:26 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
He just moved camps before the Lenard fight. He moved from Miletich to AMC with Matt Hume.

Pulver will continue fighting. It’s like people saying Dan Henderson was out of his prime or should retire because he lost to two champions in a row.
by Sean M on Jan 27, 2009 3:57 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
Pulver cannot compete with the big boys. He doesn’t hit as hard as before and if he wants/needs money, he should be concerned with his reputation. Pulver doesn’t strike me as a very intelligent individual. Hope he can be selective and pick fights like Frank Shamrock where win/loss there’ll be some sort of benefit to his pocketbook.

STICK A FORK IN JENS…HE’S DONE…
HE’S LOST 5 OF HIS LAST 6 FIGHTS!!!
HE’S AN OLD SCHOOL FIGHTER FROM A PERIOD WHEN NOT TOO MANY FIGHTERS WERE INVOLVED IN MMA…JENS CAN’T KEEP UP WITH THE CREAM OF THE CROP OF THE CURRENT GENERATION.
IT’S THAT SIMPLE.

Jens you suck, go back to burger king, and stay there.

Pulver looked like his confidence was blown after the Faber fight. He’s a legend; let’s hope he knows when the time to quit is (not saying it is now).

I dont care if I ever see him fight again. The other night he looked real bad as do most that fight Uriah but he just looked thin, weak and brutal.
