I need some advice guys. How much should I be willing to spend on 1 ticket for myself from a ticket scalper for this fight? Im satying at T.I. but thinking i might change my room to the MGM for 8 bux more a night. In hopes to run into some fighters in the eleveators or hallways. I will be in Vegas this super bowl weekend. Leaving Wednesday morning. Im an avid poker player and actually pretty good and always come home with profit after all expenses paid. Give me some realistic numbers.

by open24hrz on Jan 26, 2009 12:35 PM EST up reply actions

Definatly stay at the MGM. I have been to 2 fights there and saw a ton of fighters in the casino and at the pool: Rampage, Chuck, Karo, Houston (tried to hit on my wife), Coleman, Forrest. I am sure I saw more guys, but can’t remember it was so many.

As far as pricing you can go to the MGM website and print up the seating chart and it will show prices for each section. I would easily pay more than the actual ticket price for this fight.

by BNF on Jan 26, 2009 12:52 PM EST up reply actions

Lol i bet you didnt interupt Houston while he was hitting on your wife.

by BMO on Jan 26, 2009 1:29 PM EST up reply actions

BNF you should have told that MoFo to f*ck off!

by JV on Jan 26, 2009 1:35 PM EST up reply actions

It was before the Jardine fight so I didn’t really know who he was. He could tell I was annoyed so he backed off. Then he came up to me later that night and apologized, we talked for a minute, he was actually a cool guy.

by BNF on Jan 26, 2009 1:44 PM EST up reply actions

Well thats cool, atleast he apologized!

by JV on Jan 26, 2009 1:46 PM EST up reply actions

Did you laugh at him and say “I make more money then you do and my head isn’t treated like a head of cabbage?”

What’s he gonna do, strike a fan? That would be a fun lawsuit.

by DF on Jan 26, 2009 2:13 PM EST up reply actions

Yeah if anything happened you could just take him to the ground… he’s like Coleman, if you attempt a sub you win… every time.

James Hetfield hit on my girlfriend a few years ago.

Nice Spooner…I knew that one was comin!

by McArthur on Jan 26, 2009 2:32 PM EST up reply actions

James Hetfield lived right up the street from my high school, I wonder if that was the city he did it in?

by BNF on Jan 26, 2009 3:10 PM EST up reply actions

If James Hetfield hit on a girl I was with, I would beat the shit out of Lars Ulrich. That may not make sense, but I can’t stand Lars.

by naturalshadow on Jan 26, 2009 11:43 PM EST up reply actions

HAHAHa, I agree. No one can stand Lars. I don’t even think he can stand himself.

by GodDamnMike on Jan 27, 2009 9:36 AM EST up reply actions

Depends on where you want to sit. Most scalpers don’t like to sell one ticket because it breaks up the blocks of seats they are trying to sell. Just don’t buy from the first one you talk to, there is better deals from everyone, especially if you don’t mind missing a fight or two. Look for comp. tickets in Vegas. I didn’t pay more than face value for my tickets in Montreal but that could be a lot different than Vegas????

by jay on Jan 26, 2009 12:54 PM EST up reply actions

GSP all the way, BJ is in for an eye opener.
He absolutely will not be able to handle GSP’s strength and speed. And the cherry on top will be finally putting an end to the BJ trash talk and bad attitude that doesn’t deserve a place in MMA. Licking the blood from his gloves and all the rest of it will soon be forgotten along with the his attempt at a legacy.

by curtioso on Jan 26, 2009 1:38 PM EST up reply actions

Don’t you mean eye closer,lol?

by Gord on Jan 26, 2009 9:11 PM EST up reply actions

GSP will tag and throw BJ around like a rag doll! If you don’t think so you don’t know MMA!

by syncro on Jan 26, 2009 1:41 PM EST up reply actions

You how man comments I heard like this before UFC 46 about Hughes? You know how many people thought Hughes would be FAR to strong for Penn? Like everybody. This so far, is an exact Deja vu.
And I like how the vacation thing all the GSP fans were gettin riled up about, isnt even believed by the guy you were arguing for.

by The Anomaly on Jan 26, 2009 3:23 PM EST up reply actions

if you do think so you dont know mma!! BJ has fought bigger and stronger guys before and was not thrown around what so ever he holds to wins at middle weight over renzo gracie and rodrigo gracie, he also fought at heavyweight against lyoto machida and was not outmuscled in the fight and many people think he actually won the fight. If bj wins this fight i would love to see dana let him move up to middle weight to challenge anderson silva as i think bj could beat him and be the first fighter ever to hold three belts at once

by matt on Jan 26, 2009 4:12 PM EST up reply actions

If you honestly think B.J. would do anything other than get absolutely destroyed by Anderson Silva, then you should be awarded nut hugger of the century. While we are at it, why don’t we just throw him in against Fedor.

by naturalshadow on Jan 26, 2009 11:46 PM EST up reply actions

I’m almost as sick of this “willing to fight to the death” cr@p as I am of the lame line “I am a fighter” that some of these guys spew out all the time.

by chefdaddy on Jan 26, 2009 10:12 PM EST up reply actions

Great interview. George and Bj are really flip sides of the same coin. Both say talk is cheap, both working hard to win. Both say the best fighter will win the fight, not the stronger one. Biggesst difference is Gsp is so humble and respectful its hard not to like him while Bj comes across as cocky and abrasive at times. I still hope Bj can make history and hold two belts at the same time. I leave for Vegas in a couple of days and I wanna be there when history is made.

by Kdog on Jan 27, 2009 12:10 AM EST up reply actions

I don’t have much to say about this fight, we’ve been hyping it for too long, lets just get to it! we already know there will be 100+ comments and what each one will say!

GSP is “going to fight to the death”???? Now THAT is a bunch of BS. If you are willing to fight to the death, you do NOT tap due to strikes from Matt Serra!

by ViolentMike on Jan 26, 2009 8:07 PM EST up reply actions

He means the other guys death, lol.

by Gord on Jan 26, 2009 9:15 PM EST up reply actions

Finally, it’s the week of the fight. BJ BJ BJ BJ!!!

by BNF on Jan 26, 2009 12:07 PM EST reply actions

Does anybody remember if GSP tapped in the Serra fight. During the second episode of Penn/Pierre, Penn said that he says Pierre tap and that anybody who taps out due to strikes is a bitch. This weekend during the affliction show I couldn’t help but remember this when Yvel tapped due to strikes against Barnett.
Also, I know this is off topic but did anybody else catch Tito’s inability to pronounce the fighters names correctly, particularly Fedor. God I wish Fedor would have smacked the shit out of him for continuosly calling him FEE-UH-DOOR. My last name is Theodore and I swear it sounded like that. To say that Tito is not very well spoken is an understatement.

by Adam T. on Jan 26, 2009 12:16 PM EST up reply actions

Tito embrassed himself hard body.. He kept calling Feodr.. Theodore.. and even when interviewing Fedor.. he had the times wrong. for Fedor’s last to wins.. and even mentioned that Barnett winning by decision. Trump should fire him.. anf not even for his Big head.. and ugly suit.. just for his commentating.. and one.. off the camera.. you hear Tito.. say " I just work here ".

by PhilQNY on Jan 26, 2009 12:29 PM EST up reply actions

ya…haha…the best was when he interviewed Babalu after his fight….if you get a chance to listen to it again do it….I defy anyone to tell me 1 thing Tito said correctly….haha…Babalu speaks better English than Tito….and also…I didn’t know Vitor Belfort was 131 years old…wow!

by McArthur on Jan 26, 2009 1:34 PM EST up reply actions

The proper way to pronounce it is actually Fyodor.

by Pat on Jan 26, 2009 12:29 PM EST up reply actions

Yes, GSP tapped due to strikes. It was hard to tell because he was getting beat so bad his arms were flailing, but he definatly tapped.

by BNF on Jan 26, 2009 12:36 PM EST up reply actions

no doubt about it!

by john on Jan 26, 2009 1:01 PM EST up reply actions

Yep.. turned over.. and tapped el Mat.. Big John was stopping it.. at the same time.

by PhilQNY on Jan 26, 2009 1:15 PM EST up reply actions

It just means BJ lost to a guy who taps right? And hes going to lose even worse this time around to a guy who taps!!!

by JV on Jan 26, 2009 1:29 PM EST up reply actions

LOL JV. You have to admit tapping to strikes is pretty weak.

by BNF on Jan 26, 2009 1:56 PM EST up reply actions

you try to spin it like MMA math JV, it has nothing to do with “losing to a guy who taps” . . . Thats the gayest way to put it! And after this weekend he will be the “guy who made the guy who taps, tap again” simple as that. And you act like “he lost to” like your boy totaly f*cked BJ up . . . REALITY CHECK!!

Who won the fight: GSP.
Who got their *ss kicked: GSP.

Last 11 fights:
GSP = 9-2
Penn = 8-3

Nights spent in the hospital:
GSP = 2.
Penn = 0.

Who LOVES to tap rather than take it like a man:
GSP.
Who takes 46 to the face and still tries to Win crucifixed:
BJ PENN!!!!

by ( (Adam G) ) on Jan 26, 2009 2:04 PM EST up reply actions

It could be what happened to Forrest though. He was getting pounded by Serra and his hands were flying up and down. But I thought he tapped too! I havent seen BJ tap, but what he does is cry and say GSP is on steroids. Then he has to try to talk all tough “Im going to the death” Shut the f*ck up! No your not the ref will save you when GSP is pounding on you! Then crying that the PrimeTime show wasnt showing the truth! WTF? It was the truth, a spoiled little rich kid, that acts like hes had a tough life. BJ is like a mental kid who just cant accept that he lost to the better guy. Thats also weak! Cabbage patch looking MoFo! Sorry BNF I had to let that out.

by JV on Jan 26, 2009 2:07 PM EST up reply actions

not as weak as tapping.

Adam has that same comment saved in notepad, and he re-pastes it in every freaking GSP-BJ thread. I can’t say I blame him, I wouldn’t want to type the same garbage over and over 57 times a day.

by LJ on Jan 26, 2009 5:26 PM EST up reply actions

Whats the big deal with tapping, are you so much more of a hero is the ref has to save your sorry ass? It all the same in the end (you got your ass kick)except if you KNOW you are going night night and tap, you don’t take UNNESSESARY damage that could be detrimental to your career. Every time you get KOed it is easier the next time, just ask Wandy about that. If the fighter still had a chance to recover, you guys might have a point, but if you think GSP was going to when Serra was dropping bombs, your dreaming. Lastly, talk is cheap, I’d bet every one of you would be tapping like a MOFO in the same situation.

by Gord on Jan 26, 2009 9:33 PM EST up reply actions

Yea, but Penn doesnt tap or get KO’d, best of both worlds huh . . .

by ( (Adam G) ) on Jan 26, 2009 11:27 PM EST up reply actions

yes he tapped, didnt you watch it last night before the Vs fights, i saw him tap that mat last night!! While eating like 18 to the jaw!! LMAO!! Great stuff! Now i know how Sherk/Hughes felt sitting sideline and laughing!! Dudes head was bouncing so hard that it looked like he might bite through his mouth piece! LoLLLLLLLLLL!! HAHAHAEEH!!! Adam,

Keep screaming BJ and WAR Penn…. Get it all out of your system cause you aren’t going to have much to cheer about after the 31st..

In a stand up fight, Penn looks a lot like Fitch, getting the shit kicked out of him.

If it’s on the ground, he’ll remind you of Serra. Like a little bitch getting schooled.

Anyone that thinks the guy that supposedly tapped due to strikes is getting into the ring with Penn is in trouble. Yes, that means you Penn. It’s not that tough people. Watch the Serra fight, then the second Serra fight. Does GSP look the same? THEN watch every fight GSP has been in since that loss. Result? He’s a machine.

I don’t know why people like BJ run their mouths. Serra did it, then was force fed his words during their next fight, just like Penn is about to do.

by Beaver on Jan 26, 2009 9:32 PM EST up reply actions

ok . . .

by ( (Adam G) ) on Jan 26, 2009 11:28 PM EST up reply actions

I gotta say I agree. I am a GSP fan, and I go back and forth as far as Penn goes. Sometimes I like him, sometimes he makes me want to shoot him. I have thought about this fight quite a bit, and I just don’t think Penn has showed anything in the past few years to make me think he can beat GSP. I don’t think the fight will be as close as the last one. Sure, B.J. can win, stranger things have happened, but I think that GSP has a lot more ways of winning this fight than B.J. does.

by naturalshadow on Jan 26, 2009 11:59 PM EST up reply actions

can’t speak for Adam G but win or lose I will continue to be fans of both fighters, and will continue to write on this site. That said, I hope Bj wins.

by Kdog on Jan 27, 2009 12:19 AM EST up reply actions

So, Adam, how are you feeling today? Little quiet in here now that GSP did exactly what I said he’d do…

WARRR PENNN!! BUAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAAHAHAHAHAH!!!

by TheToddfather on Feb 2, 2009 2:39 PM EST up reply actions

I like both fighters as well but a Penn win means a third fight between the two, which would be sick…..then again a GSP win would send Penn back to 155 to fight Kenny and Diego…..either case I can’t wait. I go with GSP in this one, Penn belongs at 155.

by Robert(1) on Jan 26, 2009 12:11 PM EST reply actions

im gonna agree gsp wins but bj belonging at 155 isnt the case, he can fight at both like gsp said hes a big 170lb fighter, i got gsp winning it but it will be competitive and i dont really wanna see bj fighting alves or florian i wanna see gsp vs alves and florian vs penn on the same card

by randy murders on Jan 26, 2009 12:18 PM EST up reply actions

Dana’s already gone on record saying that if GSP beats BJ and Alves then he’ll move up to fight anderson silva. Id rather seee that than a 3rd fight between GSP and BJ. So hopefully GSP wins so we can see that fight

by jtl87 on Jan 26, 2009 12:39 PM EST up reply actions

That’s garbage. AS can easily fight at 205, now GSP has to move up 15 lbs for a guy who is dominant at 185? AS vs GSP is a waist of time. Why not make three weight divisions then? Keep the dominant fighters in their respected weight classes.

by DF on Jan 26, 2009 2:19 PM EST up reply actions

You can make the same claim about GSP vs. B.J.

by naturalshadow on Jan 27, 2009 12:01 AM EST up reply actions

Class Act.

by TapedUpPair on Jan 26, 2009 12:12 PM EST reply actions

Couldn’t agree more. I like BJ as a fighter, but when he opens his mouth I cringe. There is nothing wrong with talking a little trash to sell a fight, but there is a line and BJ not only flirts with that line, he crosses it.

by Jeff on Jan 26, 2009 2:13 PM EST up reply actions

He does it to sell PPV’s. Don’t read too much into it.

by OJR on Jan 26, 2009 4:20 PM EST up reply actions

Man! this guy is nothing but class, BJ can’t force him to be an asshole shit talker like he is

by Don on Jan 26, 2009 12:13 PM EST reply actions

Plus if GSP wins, he goes to fight Anderson Silva….who doesnt want to see that one. As far as the quality of fighters go, i think that one would be a better fight and more challenging for everyone. but the fued that has been built up b/t GSP/Penn makes this one so intriging.

by masters on Jan 26, 2009 12:16 PM EST reply actions

IF GSP wins he will have to get through Alves first. I could definatly see Alves winning that fight by TKO! :)

by BNF on Jan 26, 2009 12:19 PM EST up reply actions

If GSP beats BJ.. that would give him his 2nd title defense.. he will need to IMO defend his title dominatly..Thiago Alves will be next in line.. If GSP can beat some other game WW’s then we can entertain the idea of GSP vs Anderson.

by PhilQNY on Jan 26, 2009 12:20 PM EST up reply actions

Agreed, Alves and another WW, then Silva.

by SilasM on Jan 26, 2009 12:39 PM EST up reply actions

Call me crazy but I think Alves beats both GSP and BJ, and I am a monster fan of both fighters. I just think the world of Tiago and he is brutal! BJ and GSP have NEVER been hit with the Fury that Alves can bring. Call me crazy, and I will probably get flamed for these comments, but I give Alves a good shot at becoming the next WW champion no matter who wins this weekends mega fight. Keep in mind that this comes from a giant BJ Nuthugger and a big GSP fan!

by john on Jan 26, 2009 12:59 PM EST up reply actions

your crazy

by McArthur on Jan 26, 2009 1:25 PM EST up reply actions

I agree with John, that the unrecognized and innevitable showdown between GSP and Alves is going to be a great and very close match up. Alves’s strikes are fast and furious

by the matt king on Jan 26, 2009 1:25 PM EST up reply actions

Technical.. stupid powerful.. 1st class take down defense. GSP vs Alves.. would be a who stuns and hurts who first.. will be the winner. No judges would be needed for that match up.

by PhilQNY on Jan 26, 2009 1:31 PM EST up reply actions

No McArthur, respectfully you’re crazy ;)

by the matt king on Jan 26, 2009 1:37 PM EST up reply actions

yes sir I believe I am :)

by McArthur on Jan 26, 2009 1:49 PM EST up reply actions

I think Alves has a better chance against BJ than GSP. I don’t think BJ would have the ability or humility to take Alves down, and I see him getting beat on the feet. GSP would also get beat on the feet if he couldn’t take Alves down, but I think he can. Unless GSP ate a knee shooting for a takedown I think he would win via TKO or submission.

by GregC on Jan 26, 2009 2:39 PM EST up reply actions

Alves hasn’t convinced me yet. Beating up old man Hughes and a worn out/overworked Koscheck (sp?) isn’t enough…

by OJR on Jan 26, 2009 4:24 PM EST up reply actions

First – it is you’re crazy as in you are.

Second, I agree that Alves is a tough bastard and is something that GSP nor Penn have fought before. If the circus midget can knock out GSP, I’m pretty sure that Alves has a much better chance.

And this is coming from a GSP fan. Reality boys, as good as these guys are, Alves takes it to a new level. I’d love to see Penn trash talk before that fight. He’d get his block knocked off.

by deadgrassinyard on Jan 26, 2009 7:19 PM EST up reply actions

john, I don’t think you’re crazy. I agree, Alves probably would beat BJ. I doubt he could get him down if Kos couldn’t and Alves isn’t the best guy to fight if you are susceptible to leg kicks, like BJ is. Alves has a good chance to beat GSP too, Karo, Hughes and even Kos didn’t look so good against him. I still think GSP will be able to take him down and beat him in the end, but I sure wouldn’t bet the farm on that fight.

by Gord on Jan 26, 2009 10:01 PM EST up reply actions

I wish they would really do it. Then the world would be guaranteed to have one less d-bag.

by EazyEismydad on Jan 26, 2009 12:23 PM EST reply actions

BTW it was to late to post my comment on AA and Fedor, but that fight reminded me of GSP vs Hughes 1. Gsp was kicking Hughes ass the whole round and then GSP made a mistake. The we all know what happen the second time they fought

by Don on Jan 26, 2009 12:39 PM EST reply actions

Gimme a break. AA had a few more strikes at the time and if the fight was a 3 minute decision, he would have won. This is what you call domination? Was Fedor even hurt? The two fights are nothing alike. And if you would put your money on AA in the next fight considering Fedor had not yet even tried to take him down, you would be crazy.

I understand that the interviewer is trying to do a good interview, but he was talking out of his a$$. I would have loved to see him ask those exact questions if Penn were standing right in front of him. Also Penn accusing GSP of roiding never happened. GSP is defanately a class act, but Penn still leaves the octagon on Saturday with both the Lightweight and Welterweight belts. BJ

Blah blah blah, what else is there to say, this fight should have happened two months ago. Both are as ready as they’ll ever be so there should be no excuses from either guy, the best fighter will win. Go gsp!!!!

+ 1. GSP by pure class.

by bad batz on Jan 26, 2009 2:54 PM EST up reply actions

Did Penn actually say he took roids or that he was suprised that he has that physique without using? Anyways , Penn will win in rd.2 by referee stoppage due to gnp like he did Sherk. I can’t stand GSP’s voice…

by Mike T. on Jan 26, 2009 1:20 PM EST reply actions

And how is making a public statement like that not an accusation? He wasn’t making a compliment like “Oh, those pec muscles are so big and sexy.” It was more along the lines of, “Your body is too big and strong for your size to be natural.”

Also, going further, the comments about his lackluster diet and still looking that way is a further accusation, in that it is a well know side effect of steroids that being in a roid state puts allows for better nutrient patitioning.

You can’t tell me that BJ would have said this about somebody he thought was natural, right?

by the matt king on Jan 26, 2009 1:33 PM EST up reply actions

Exact quote " Yea, roids is no good ya know, and not just Sherk, ive even faught other guys that ive thought might be on roids" . . . What the f*ck does that have to do with GSP (i believe he was refferencing GSP BUT, he didnt . . .) GAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY! Stop crying! BJ BJ BJ!!!

“Round 2 by referee stoppage due to GnP like he did Sherk”? You know you’re talking about GSP right? He TKO’d Sherk in round two, BJ beat Sherk at the end of Round 3 when he pretty much called the fight himself.

Stop crying!! The ref could have kept that fight going you friggin baby!!! Sherk didnt know which way was loose, so what, they go back out there and Sherk gets brain damage.

by ( (Adam G) ) on Jan 26, 2009 3:10 PM EST up reply actions

Sherk was OUT even if only for a second or 2…it was Penn hitting him again that woke him up…just bad timing since it was right at the end of the bell. It was similar to the Rampage Chuck fight where Chuck went out cold and limp then he got hit again and woke up in la la land…..

by Chadx23 on Jan 26, 2009 4:00 PM EST up reply actions

LOL he beat sherk at the end of round three, and you’re prediction is a pipe dream. The most likely way this fight ends is in a decision for gsp, but I want a tko for him or better yet a sub win that would be sweet, pretty doubtful though.

by nathan on Jan 26, 2009 1:29 PM EST reply actions

cant wait for this!!!!

Im taking gsp by ground n pound… also i like bj but hes taking the trash talk to a level that is out of order, gsp is a sound guy and bj is doing everything he can to put him off his fight, i think bj is obsessed with the drugs thing, sherk (although did take them) and now gsp//?wtf! Maybe bj is taking them cos they make you balloon and bj is quite chubby lol!!

be a little more respectful bj…..and let the good times roll!!!

Probably a useless comment to some of you but I know a lot of you are asking what is GSP music after his entrance on fight night.

Well know that you’ve heard it from me first, he’s going to make his entrance on:

Rohff – J’arrive

Just type that into YouTube et voilà! Enjoy!

Sounds G-A-Y! And looks even G-A-Y-E-R when its a white guy that walks out from behind the curtain LMAO! Find another way to rep Canada dude, Canadian rap is WEAK!! Except the Sans Pressure song “Numero Uno” GSP came out to to fight Serra, that was sick, but GSP cant be cool twice, he doesnt know how. BJ BJ BJ!!!

BJ all the way!!!!!!!!!!GSP will lose standing and the only thing that he has that might work are his leg kicks and take downs. BJ is already expecting that. Bj will do more damage off his back than GSP will do from the top. BJ all the way and in dominating fashion!!!!!!!!Round 2

by Mike T. on Jan 26, 2009 2:37 PM EST reply actions

Why are so many convinced of BJ’s greatness at 170? He had a great win over Hughes years ago, but otherwise he has losses to both Hughes and GSP.

I know, he did well against GSP and some thought he even should have won, but what among any of this makes people so convinced he is such a heavy favorite to win?

I can understand thinking he will win, but some of you seem to be so convinced as thought its 100% assured which seems ridiculous considering his opponent.

by noneed4name on Jan 26, 2009 3:00 PM EST up reply actions

if GSP beats BJ and fights Alves i agree with John, it could go either way. but saying the judges wont be needed is a little far fetched. id say Alves wins by KO or GSP wins by sub or UD. i could see GSP wrestling Alves around the ring for 5 rounds and tiring him out. i havent had time to check it out but i doubt many of Thiagos fights have gone to decision. so who knows whats in his gas tank. and if the tank is good, still might not be gsp good. look at fitch lol, great cardio but couldnt keep up the pace for 5 rounds. GSP fighting fresh fighter after fresh fighter in training helps A BOATLOAD IMO.

by JakeAnd on Jan 26, 2009 2:41 PM EST reply actions

Anyone who thinks BJ will win is delusional. Not only will he lose to GSP but he is gonna get his ass knocked out when he fights Florian.

The comment is good only if you fire the first salvo! A better follow up for Georges would have been, “I will beat you to death!”
This fight is too close to call, but it’s going to be a freakin’ war! I’m rooting for the “The Prodigy”

by Sofa-King-Toasty on Jan 26, 2009 4:03 PM EST reply actions

in all honesty, I am confident BJ CAN win and I will be pulling for him to win, but everything else tells me GSP is going to dismantle and man-handle BJ like a rag doll. I DO NOT want to see that happen, and I don’t want gay little GSP doing his gymnastics backflips and spins if he gets the win….I feel that being honest with you guys will allow BJ to win now…we’ll see on Saturday!

The winner of this fight is going to fight Alves at 170, but Alves will weigh in at 180. BJ will be screaming that he’s on steroids and he or GSP will still take the non-title fight. Alves will win the fight by being the bigger, more powerful fighter, and then he will be punished by getting an imediate title shot at 185 where Spider Silva will pick him apart before devouring him… bones and all.

by UFCAddict on Jan 26, 2009 4:51 PM EST reply actions

GSP will pick Alves apart on the feet, take him down, and smash his face into the canvas.

by Hero-Of-Time on Jan 26, 2009 5:42 PM EST up reply actions

I don’t know if this has changed, but Dana White said if GSP wins, he’d be open to a GSP vs A.Silva match at middle weight (but if Penn wins he would not be open to a match between Penn and A.Sliva, mainly b/c in Dana’s opinion Penn doesn’t have the frame or general size to move up two weight classes in the UFC). If nothing else, that should be reason enough to pull for a GSP win.

Either way, my vote is GSP! GSP!! GSP!!!

by JS on Jan 26, 2009 5:24 PM EST reply actions

Ya know i used to be a avid GSP hater be for some reason he is starting to grow on me. I like him a little more with each fight and interview. GSP is not disrespectful…..idk for some reason its hard to like him for me.

by SluggerCitySoldier on Jan 26, 2009 6:08 PM EST reply actions

I don’t think GSP will ever fight Silva. Anderson said hes gunna retire mid 2009, and he has to wait to face the winner of henderson and bisping after the leites fight..Guys, lets be real here…if Matt Serra couldnt tap gsp out (referring to their 2nd fight) than BJ wont tap GSP..i never seen penn tap anyone from his back, and thats where he’ll be for the majority of the fight..until gsp tko’s him…also, for those who say that penns striking is better, i strongly disagree..yes, in the first round of their previous fight, penn got the better of the stand up..but gsp did get poked, and he could barley see anymore incomig punches, thats why his face had more bumps than queen latifas ass…i dont think penn will use his cardio as an excuse, because i truly believe st pierre will finish him in the 2nd round

Matt Serra, future UFC LW champ

by Year of Matt Serra on Jan 26, 2009 7:48 PM EST reply actions

BJ and his fans are right where GSP wants them: overconfident.

As for the fight, we all know how it’s going to end: the bell rings, BJ comes rushing and GSP KO’s him with his hidden 3rd arm.

That’s right, GSP is that good of an athlete, he has a hidden 3rd arm that nobody has ever seen, and it does the never seen before “Apocatequil” punch.

There, case closed.

This interview was boring… enough baiting the fighter into saying something buzz worthy. I would have asked GSP questions about if he thinks he improved his head movement or something actually related to fighting.

by J. Malkovich on Jan 26, 2009 9:58 PM EST reply actions

Head movement?! Why would you care about his sex life? — lol

by Kdog on Jan 27, 2009 12:35 AM EST reply actions

im not sure how much Sid Sixeiro actually knows about MMA so thats prob why he couldnt ask better crafted questions. its pretty much the same ol shit when they interview gsp everytime.
they need some hardcore fans to ask the tough questions.

by JakeAnd on Jan 27, 2009 12:38 AM EST reply actions

oh and to whoever said GSP would own Alves standing, im not so sure about that…..maybe he would take him down at will but if he wanted to stand i think hed eat a flying knee or somethin. yet if im not mistaken GSP prob has a big height adv. over Thiago so who knows right? Thiago is a stud on his feet. that Koscheck win was impressive although Kos was on 10 days notice. somethin i respect about Kos was takin that fight with a dangerous opponent on short notice. that takes balls. he wants to fight like 7 or 8 times a year thats crazy shit. i want Kos to fight Leben again just so he can embarass him further and rid the UFC of that weak bladdered assmuncher.
