Amir Sadollah scratched from Nick Catone fight (again) at UFC Fight Night 17

It's déjà vu all over again for The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 7 season winner, Amir Sadollah. Several reports indicate that the quirky and unlikely champion of the Spike TV mixed martial arts reality series has once again sustained a pre-fight injury and will be forced out of competition.
Sadollah was first was expected to first hook ‘em up with promotional newcomer Nick Catone at UFC 91: "Lesnar vs. Couture" on November 15. However, just four days before fight night he had to withdraw because of a leg infection. It was so severe that was hospitalized for the condition.
The middleweights were then rebooked to collide at UFC Fight Night 17 at the USF Sun Dome in Tampa, Fla., on February 7. But it was apparently not meant to be -- this time around Sadollah reportedly injured his clavicle.
There's no word yet on whether or not Catone will still compete on the card against a yet-to-be-named opponent. If one is available, however, the undefeated Ricardo Almeida-trained fighter may want to jump all over it because at this pace he'll never make his debut.
UFC Fight Night 17: "Lauzon vs. Franca" features the lightweight showdown between former 155-pound contender Hermes Franca and The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 5 alum and BJ Penn pupil Joe Lauzon, as well as the highly anticipated showdown between lightweights Mac Danzig and Josh Neer.
In the only heavyweight battle of the evening, the oft-talked about Cain Velasquez will have a chance to introduce himself to the masses when he locks horns with Sarajevo native Denis Stojnic.

No way, again. Maybe he needs to change what he is doing. I understand that injuries happen but come on man you need to make to your fights. Im not sure how long he will be out this time but it will have been a long time between winning TUF and fighting again. What are the odds that he is not the same as he was when he won TUF, if he ever makes it back.

He hasnt fought since June! NOT GOOD!
As for the question about will he be the same? He only has 1 pro fight in mma, so what kind of question is that? Its not like he is a 31 year old Legend, who is now hurt and you wonder if he can return to that level…..Amir is young and only has 1 fight under his belt…what level was he on to begin with? He was a novice in the sport with a ton of potential….He works hard, an will eventually be even better then what we have witnessed out of him in the past.
The need to get him a new opponent. Its not fair to the Nick catone kid, who obviously isnt making any real money anyway! THe UFC is bent on him being Amir’s 1st opponent, HAND PICKED by the UFC to beging Amir’s winning streak…Amir’s injury are holding this kids paycheks back….He is probably making chump change to begin with…Its not right!
Let Nick fight someone else, and get some other scrub that the uFC knows amir will beat, to fight Sadollah.
NOt hard to find a d level fighter willing to be Amir’s whipping boy because d level fighters all would give an arm for a chance at fighting in the uFC, especially against Amir whose fight will be televised

I think the guy was talking about all the fights he had on TUF. Even though the results don’t count towards his professional record, we have seen him fight like 3 times now. I don’t think he is going to look good in his return. Sure he showed promise but if he hasn’t fought in 7 months already and will be out for a while longer still, he has to be rusty, and he wasn’t smooth in the first place. They should let Nick Catone beat up a can on this card so that when Amir is finally ready to fight some of the fans might have been tricked into believing Nick isn’t being hand picked for an ass whooping. The only problem is finding some can bad enough to make Nick look good, Ken Shamrock is looking for work still right?

Amir is a baby in the sport. He will grow as a fighter…dont worry about that. NOt sure if he will look good in his 1st performance back, but eventually he will be better then we have ever seen him. NO worries! Its not like its an acl injury… Shouldnt hold him back too much, but he might have some cage rust to shake in his 1st fight.
I wouldnt worry to much about Amir….he will be fine!

If Sadollah’s trains as scrappy as he fights, its no wonder he keeps getting injured.

Nah. Rashad Evans. Worst TUF winner. Just kidding. I’d say Kendall. Although, he has some of the greatest potential talent of the bunch.

they should put pellegrino on the televised card now. he’s an old florida guy and shoulda been on the main card anyway. he’s got more ufc fights than amir and catone have total fights combined. wtf???
