nerves will get him…

by McArthur on Jan 23, 2009 10:37 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

I agree. I think he loses this fight before a single punch is thrown. I alo am starting to think this is just a paycheck to Andre, nothing more and nothing less. His trainer already announced that after this fight Andre will move to boxing….to me that kind of means they dont plan on winning the fight. The winner of this fight has another mega fight and huge payday waiting for him to fight Barnett at the next show. Why would they say that they are going into boxing instead, when you got a big fight waiting for you with a win over Fedor? Simple….Because they Know its a fight that they will not win!

War Fedor!
Fedor “Mike Vick” Emelienenko vs. THe Pitbull! hahah….we know who wins this match up!

anyone else think that GB/affliction will get tito to sign with them when they give him a shot at Fedor

yes I think he will sign…no I don’t think he’ll ever fight Fedor

I think Tito’s 1st fight (and prob his only as they will fold sometime this year unless they continue to co-promate)will be against little nog or Vlad

Uh John,

Vick is in jail man, and may still face unrelated state charges. The dogs (the one’s that survived) have been adopted out to families.

Unless, you are saying Andrei is one of the dogs that didn’t survive. In which case, the next logical step, Barnett beats Fedor.

All to say, every fighter loses at some point in their career.

by Jeff on Jan 23, 2009 11:34 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Nah, look at Mayweather/Calzagne they never lost, albeit they are boxers, you just say every fighter loses at some point in their carreer because no ones gone out undefeated in MMA yet, it’s bound to happen at some point, Fedor might be the first to have never really suffered a real loss.

by O damn he got caught on Jan 23, 2009 12:39 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Mayweather never lost because he ducked alot of top contenders.

I agree with Jeff.

Fedor suck’s sweaty balls hahaha. If you want to reply and say he’s the greatest……DON’T because you suck at being and MMA fan period. You guy’s don’t know jack, you look at his inflated bull sith record and think you something about fighting. There’s only one thing to judge a fighter by and that’s the fighters he has won and lost too. 4 or five years ago probally was and Cro Cop was probally #2 or 3. Fedor doesn’t deserve the attention he’s getting by fighting sub par fighters and until he fights a REAL ranked HW me and millions of REAL fighting fan’s will call it as we see. And I see a MMA fighter fighting a amatuer boxer respect gained…..NONE. Eat it Fedor spankers the truth hurts.

So who do you consider real contenders? Couture? Lesnar? Mir? Nog 3?

Gimme a break. You haters are all the same. AA is at least in their realm, but if Fedor crushes him you will denounce AA as crap.

Stop drinking Dana White’s cool-aid. You have a brain of your own, you don’t have to think everything he tells you to think.

by noneed4name on Jan 23, 2009 6:16 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I pretty sure that Fedor will pull it off, but honestly don’t count AA out- Really if he does go in their and throw he does have the power to KO fedor fujita got luck with that wild punch and almost knocked fedor out, especially since its very possible for AA to do it…. I actually see AA fighting Tim Siliva for the 4th time in Afflication if AA loses.

by ricky on Jan 23, 2009 12:08 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I like AA as a fighter, but there is no way he wins this fight. It will end in the first, I just dont know how Fedor will CHOOSE to end it.
I give props to Andre if he in fact does interact with the fans the way that was described in the video. It’s always good to hear that a fighter is good to his fans.
Lastly, does a so called “Bad Boy” get his eyebrows waxed? I’m just saying.

LOL @ Fedor “mike vick” emelienenko…

I’m not sure if its just me or I’m tripping balls, but I could swear before I took a few bongs rips there was an Affliction predictions, preview and analysis blog and now its gone…im a little sad I was planning on reading it and well now I can’t, can anyone confirm if it was or am I just delusional?

I cant believe this fight is tomorrow! I have wanted to see this fight since about 2004. Being the president of the Fedor Fan club I admidetly swing from Fedor’s nuts, so often my admiration for Andre gets lost in my Fedor Nut-hugary….but Andre is one of my favorite fighters, but I dont give him much of a chance against Fedor.

I feel bad that the UFC nuthuggers and the TUF generation of fans hate on Fedor, he is a tremendous fighter and an even greater Person….I hate hearing people Hate on him. I also feel bad that After he destroys Arlovski, the haters still wont give Fedor his respect. Its a shame!

I dont see how anyone can pick Andre in this fight. he is not the same guy that he was before losing to Tim in their 2nd fight. In reality, I dont really think that Andre deserves to fight Fedor. What has he done recently? He beat Werdum, in a snoozefest. He sucker punched Cruz on the ground for a win. THen he beat up rothwell and big country, who probably aren’t even a top 20 HW’s. Yes he looked great while beating up Nelson and Rothwell, but those were not even match ups to begin with.

I am a huge Arlovski fan, but I dont see how he can win this fight!

by john on Jan 23, 2009 11:00 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

John,

Just playing Devil’s advocate here….

AA wins this fight by avoiding Fedor’s punch. Forget what Roach said Fedor packs some serious power (as by you nut-huggery, you well know). AA then hits Fedor while moving out of his range. The recent Fedor fights I have seen (not many, because the last match-up I really liked was against Cro Cop), he drops his opponent, then submits them. If Andrei can avoid that set up punch and stay standing, I give him a slight (very slight) edge.

If it goes to the ground and Fedor is not rocked I would be shocked to see Andrei take the victory. Yes, Andrei is very skilled at Sambo, and no I don’t care that Fedor just lost the Sambo World Combat title. He is still Fedor.

by Jeff on Jan 23, 2009 12:13 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Is it possible AA’s expertise at Sambo is just a bit overrated? When is the last time he even submitted anyone? I think it was Timmy.

Fedor has been the top Sambo guy in Russia for years (until recently) whereas I don’t even think AA competes in Sambo, just trains in it. How is this even remotely similar?

by noneed4name on Jan 23, 2009 6:21 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Thanks, noneed, that is pretty much what I was trying to say.

by Jeff on Jan 23, 2009 7:29 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

I think AA’s Sambo might be a little underrated if anything. Rogan never really went on about it like he does with some of the BJJ guys. Fair enough Andrei doesn’t use it that often.

Thing is Fedor’s Sambo is just way better.

by RobH86 on Jan 24, 2009 5:41 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Don’t forget about that win over the great Jake O’Brien.

I clown on Affliction all the time for the way they handle things, but first and foremost I am a fight fan. I currently I am very excited for this match. I just hope that it is actually a competive fight. I know AA won’t tap as quick as the big pu$$y Tim did. I would love to see some of that famous Fedor resiliance rather than a 1 minute destruction.

I really want to go and try to get free tickets. Did anyone go to the last show or any XC or WEC show where they got free tickest? I think you show up late and hope for the best. If anybody knows let a brother know.

by BNF on Jan 23, 2009 12:19 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Hey BNF, I’ll be there at the Honda center trying to get some free tickets. Its really not even a question in my mind because even if I cant get any free tickets and can still make it home to catch it on PPV

by SARS on Jan 23, 2009 3:22 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Right on… I will try the same. Good luck!

by BNF on Jan 23, 2009 3:50 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

2 ways AA wins. 1) Fedor breaks his hand again and it actually throws off his gameplan (usually not a factor).
2) AA cuts Fedor (he does bleed-even Lindland made him bleed though it could have been from the odor/stench) and fight is called. Please tell me I am delusional, as I have alot of money on Fedor.

by Victory is Ours on Jan 23, 2009 12:21 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

yes he does bleed but from what I understand….anyone who touches Fedor’s blood actually faints unconscious for a couple minutes….dangerous stuff

by roy on Jan 23, 2009 3:16 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Arloski never been the same since the 2nd sylvia fight if hes found his inner beast again my money is him. Is fedor scared to get in a cage? Are all his fights in the ring with no elbows? jw

by R.e.s on Jan 23, 2009 11:00 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

Fedor would be better in a cage, IMO.

Elbows?…who knows.

It’s odd that people like to say “Fedor has never fought with elbows” as a way to say how he would get beaten lol. What makes you think he couldn’t throw elbows better than anyone else?…he does most things better than anyone else…why not elbows?

If he fought in the UFC all of these years, haters would say “ya, but how would he do if he fought in Japan, with kicks and knees to the head on the ground?”

by introvert on Jan 23, 2009 11:07 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Im sure its not a question whether he can throw elbows, which im sure he can. Can he take elbows to the face on a ground and pound….it was the same situation with cro cop,and we all kno he was gettin beat up on the ground against gonzaga, and he had no way of defendin those elbows.

by TheTruthhhh on Jan 23, 2009 11:28 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Because CC sucks at Jits…Fedor would slap on an armbar before the guy even knew what hit em.

by introvert on Jan 23, 2009 12:28 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

…besides, the only time Gonzaga would be on the ground against Fedor, would be on his back.

by introvert on Jan 23, 2009 12:30 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

Considering the fact that Fedor can take being suplexed on the back of his neck, I am pretty sure elbows wont bother him too much!

by john on Jan 23, 2009 2:51 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

If there is any worries about elbows with Fedor it is getting cut. He seems to cut easily as most people would after getting his foreheas split open twice by Kohsaka and Nog.

by RobH86 on Jan 24, 2009 5:47 AM EST up reply actions   0 recs

whoa chill guy just wondering. i wanna see how he does in a cage if it would make a difference is eveyone tomorrow fightin in a ring?

by R.e.s on Jan 23, 2009 11:28 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

there is No doubt that Andrei is a good person. And Andrei does not have to win in order for someone to like him, he JUST has to stand up with Fedor and fight, hopefully to the distance… IF he gets pounded like an octapus like Timy, THEN it’l be bad.

As far as “Americanized” goes, Fedor is part of a Global market. I DONT like how Arlovski has hes nice Beamer and everything. He earned it, BUT Fedor earned alot more, and you see him driving a Toyota and living a middle class lifestyle. Andrei loves the stardom.

and for God’s sake hes a fighter not a porn star.

by MARSELI on Jan 23, 2009 11:38 AM EST reply actions   0 recs

Fedor is my number one fighter. But AA has a chance of beating him. He has the reach advantage. As said before, Anything can happen if it lands right.

it’s a hype video for one of the biggest fights in YEARS. what do you expect? it’s called marketing nukka. also, here’s a suggestion, don’t watch em.

by ActionJackson on Jan 23, 2009 12:32 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

What Fedor means by Americanized is that, Arlovski trains in softer conditions, it’s easier, and he drives flashy cars, buys blind, goes to clubs….. he IS Americanized, it’s not a bad thing, it’s just a different lifestyle.

by UFC Hater on Jan 23, 2009 12:24 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

yeah right. does that mean training with team jackson or team couture or with att or aka or at the balckhouse gym in america means you train “softer”. ask cro-cop or slowgun about that. your username is just like you-lame.

by b.w. on Jan 23, 2009 2:02 PM EST up reply actions   0 recs

In the context of the quote, “Americanized” has negative connations. Andrei and his guys know exactly what Fedor means. It’s just a little pre-fight dig at Arlovski. A bit of mind games. For sure Andrei won’t like it. They wouldn’t mention it if it didn’t bother him, plus they’re attempting to get the majority of the fans watching on Andrei’s side.

I think its funny that people think Tito will fight Fedor. Tito would never step into the ring against Fedor unless Affliction paid him 1 million or more. Tito is all about the money he does not care if he fights and wont unless he picks his opponent. I hate Tito look at how long he dodged Chuck for. Has anyone read the book “Iceman My Fighting Life”, I like what he says about Tito in the book, the guy is a parasite and a coward.

“They look like these beastly animals that are going to attack…but he’ll come up to you and start licking you.”

LOL. There’s a hell of an image.

Anyway, I’m not counting AA out, but seriously he doesn’t have the sweater of doom. How can he win?

by MongoMan on Jan 23, 2009 12:55 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Fedor’s enchanted sweater of +5 to submissions, will prevail for sure.

If only he could borrow Shinya Aoki’s Rainbow Colored Pants of Glory which would give him another +5 bonus to submissions, he would definitely be pulling off a flying kneebar.

by asfd on Jan 23, 2009 2:10 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

I do see one flaw in Fedor’s game. He tends to lean forward as he’s about to throw and basically leads with his face. If AA has a fast stiff jab he may be able to keep Fedor from hitting him. That being said, I don’t think Fedor is ready to stop being Fedor. I got a nice party planned for the PPV and I see Fedor winning in the second round by annihilation.

by MrFyer on Jan 23, 2009 2:29 PM EST reply actions   0 recs

Tim Sylvia’s an asshole.
If Arlovski loses tomorrow night, they should feed him Sylvia in his next fight. After AA kicks his ass, he’ll go crying back to Dana White for a job and pursue a fight with Mark Coleman, thinking it will help solidify his legacy.
