Bobby Green to replace Chris Horodecki against Dan Lauzon at Affliction: 'Day of Reckoning'
With former International Fight League (IFL) lightweight standout Chris Horodecki forced out of his upcoming bout against Dan Lauzon at Affliction: "Day of Reckoning" this weekend, the promotion will apparently look toward Bobby Green (7-1) to step up on short notice to fill the void left by the Canadian, according to Sherdog.com.
"King" is currently enjoying a five-fight win streak, competing primarily in smaller shows on the West Coast circuit, as well as down in Mexico under the Warriors Fighting Championship (WCF) banner.
All of his eight professional fights in mixed martial arts took place in the span of seven months in 2008. The hungry up-and-comer will more than likely face his stiffest opponent to date in Lauzon ... and he'll have to do it on just about 48 hours notice.
Lauzon — younger brother of UFC lightweight fighter and The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) alum Joe Lauzon — most recently made made his third straight start for the Boston area-based World Championship Fighting (WCF). "The Upgrade" registered a first round technical knockout win over Justin Hammertrum in less than a minute on November 14.
With the win, Lauzon now has all 11 of his career wins via stoppage — five by submission and six by technical knockout. The Octagon veteran has strung together seven straight wins since a loss to Deividas Taurosevicius at Cage Fury Fighting Championships 3 in early 2007.
The 155-pound scrap against "The Polish Hammer" -- who is suffering from a bulging disc in his neck -- would have been a big stepping stone for Lauzon if he could have pulled out the win. However, he, as well as the fans, will have to settle for Green.
The good news is that he's just 20-years-old and has a very long and promising career ahead of him. His time will come.
"Day of Reckoning" features the colossal clash between WAMMA Heavyweight Champion Fedor Emelianenko and former UFC titleholder Andrei Arlovski. The under card will air on HDNet at 7 p.m. ET and lead into the 9 p.m. ET pay-per-view (PPV) broadcast.

Whoever, is in charge of deciding which fights to air on ppv is an idiot! HOrecki vs. Lauzon was supposed to air on ppv, with Nog vs. Vladamir on the undercard! I dont know what idiot made that decision.
Now that Lauzon fight is off the ppv portion of the event you would think that they would move the Nog fight onto the ppv, but instead these idiots are said to be airing the Jay Heiron fight. I dont get it! They cant possibly be this stupid…The only thing I can think of is that they want to save a big fight like the nog fight to stay on the HdNet portion of the broadcast….which does kind of make sense.

“The only thing I can think of is that they want to save a big fight like the nog fight to stay on the HdNet portion of the broadcast which does kind of make sense”.
Yeah genius that’s exactly why the Matyushenko/Nog fight is on the HDNet broadcast because it’s the headliner so to speak for the undercard.
Nothing like bashing the decision making to only later come back in the same post and agree with the decision.
Jesus some people just make no sense at all.

TYler: When a company like Affliction that needs to sell pPV’s to stay alive, shouldnt be worried about the HDNet undercard. THey should make the ppv portion of the event as attractive as possible to try and maximize the ppv sales.!

no doubt…Nog vs. Vlad could be fight of the night material….Vlad is a tough due with only 3 losses and a ton of experience and nog is nog…

Fight of the Night??? NO WAY in my opinion.
The Janitor is by no means an EXCITING fighter in my opinion. If you think Vlad is exciting, Sean Sherk must be your favorite fighter…

i was referring to Big Nog obviously there. I posted that McLovin is out of 96 due to injury. Saunders will fight a new guy, Ryan Madigan.

Could be a big upset for Lauzon.
This guy has won his last 3 fights by TKO or KO, 5 fights in a row.
7-1-0 record..
3 TKO, 1 KO, 2 Submissions.
Fights in leagues that probably dont even have circulating videos of fights, leaving nothing for Lauzon to train for.

There is no training time. This one is pure skill. Stranger vs. Stranger. Who would be the best fighters in the world if all fighters found out who they were fighting the week of the fight?

ya read that. I was hoping that someone, maybe local to where he is at, know something. Thanks for the tip though.

i found about 3 of his fights on youtube and his opponents looked pretty sub par. this guy doesn’t look quite ready for the big stage yet. i see dan overwhelming him in the 1st.

I saw bobby green fight at tfa on his last fight agains toby grear, my coach was on that card too.
Green has some skill he destroyed toby, the match shoulda been stopped but it went on and he took a beating from green.
Green took 155 tfa title from toby
But honestly I don’t think he’s at lauzons level yet
Jj ambrose champ at 170 of tfa fought mike pyle and got destroyed last affliction.
but it looks like it’ll be entertaining fight
I say lauzon by sub

O btw in the first rd green was caught in triangle and it was a contreversial stop but since it was title fight it went on to 2nd round that’s when green stepped up with vicious strikes and gnp.
