UFC 92 drug test results come back clean from NSAC for 'The Ultimate 2008'

The Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) announced today that 12 of the 20 competitors who were tested for illegal/banned substances after competing at UFC 92: "The Ultimate 2008″ have all passed with flying colors.
Newly-crowned UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Rashad Evans, Forrest Griffin, interim heavyweight champion Frank Mir, Antonio Rodrigo "Minotauro" Nogueira, Brad Blackburn, Matt Hamill, Antonio Hardonk, Yushin Okami, Cheick Kongo, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, CB Dolloway and Patrick Barry were all screened for performance enhancers such as steroids, as well as drugs of abuse like cocaine and marijuana, among others.
Results of those tests all returned negative.
The NSAC also officially reported that UFC 92 sold 9,701 tickets for a live gate $3,468,440. More than 4,460 complimentary tickets were issued and 657 went unsold for the promotion’s year-end event.
UFC dished out a hefty $1,381,000 in fighter salaries for the pay-per-view (PPV) event and another $180,000 in additional bonus money for four participants who delivered outstanding performances.
Evans defeated Griffin via third round technical knockout to capture the 205-pound crown in the UFC 92 main event. Mir came one step closer to once again becoming the UFC heavyweight champion of the world with an awesome performance against Nogueira to claim the interim division title.
And Jackson scored revenge against his nemesis, Wanderlei Silva, with a brutal first round knockout.

I don’t think Morocco or wherever he’s hiding has an extradition treaty with England.

((Adam G)) – this is way off topic, but i just watched GSP-Penn I on my UFC 58 DVD, and i cant remember for sure, but i thought you said that the first round should have been 10-8 for BJ… i may be completely wrong here though, so correct me if i am. but if you did say that, would you mind telling me how you see that? cause yes GSP’s face was busted up and he was bleeding all over, from the accidental eye poke and the nose clip, but strike for strike the round was pretty close IMHO

Man, there’s cheap and then there are the state athletic commissions.
Random testing 12 when there’s all of 20 fighters? Just check them all, and be sure.

a Ortiz vs Evans rematch or a Ortiz vs Griffin rematch needs to happen sometime in the future!.. what they paid for all fighters fighting on the card should’ve been the salary of one fighter, so laaame and if someone complains they get the boot from Dana..

So, im confused, did the fighters who were not “randomly selected” not have to pass a drug test? or was this some NSAC super unbelievable infallible drug test?

Can anyone tell me how the comp. tickets are dished out? How does one go about getting one besides showing up at the venue on the day of?
Like I’m wondering if you go to the ticket office in the arena or if there’s a few officials handing them out. And if it’s the latter, is it sorta kept hush hush and only people in the know so to speak that get them or is the general public let in? I’m sure with 4400 the general public will get their share but what about 500-1000?
Just wanna know for the future..

Friends, Casino VIP’s, Radio Station give aways, etc, etc…

Anyone with a secret password or hook up to get tickets isn’t going to share it so thats kind of a redundant question to ask. Like Mexi said you either gotta be well connected or lucky with the radio to get those free tickets. and Mexi why does your name still have formally in it? All the veteran bloggers know who you are and the new guys are catching on quick. I’d just leave it El_Mexicutioner and get rid of the formally part cause the only guy I can think of who does that is Prince, no offense.
