You are in England right? What does an average round trip ticket cost and how long is the flight to Dublin? Just curious.

I am. The flight from Bristol (South West England)is just under an hour and i paid about 35GBP for a return fair with one of the budget airlines out here, around 55USD at the current exchange rate i’m guessing?!

Round trip? Damn. Thats cheaper than going form L.A. to Vegas.
by El_Mexicutioner, formerly The_Mexicutioner on Jan 13, 2009 10:37 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Cheaper then me taking a train from Toronto to Ottawa…….lol…..which is a 3.5 hour drive-

Yeah, that covers the lot! I thought internal flights in the US were cheap? What would you pay to fly from LA to Vegas and back? Last time i was there we drove from LA to Vegas, so i’m just curious to know if the drive was worth it!!!

Like on Jet Blue out of Long Beach it would be $89 there and $99 back, and thats with a month in advance purchase. Out of LAX it would probably be more. Not too bad, but not as good of a deal as you guys seem to get for a comparable flight.
Airline prices here are through the roof. When gas (petrol) was up here, they started charging for the second bag and some even charged for the first. Its ridiculous over here. I’ve been to the UK a couple times. I’d love to take my daughter there when she gets older. Its pretty cool over there.

Damm, i always found the US to be a lot cheaper, guess times are changing! Chin up though, at least it doesn’t always rain over there, ha.

funnily enough,it has rained yesterday,1st time in about 2 months,Seriously, been the driest winter ever.London to dublin round trip £10 each way, spend more in the chipper :-)

If we go by my track record for predicting the fights at UFC 92, then the same goes for me. Only thing different from you is I have Franklin by TKO.
Who wants to bet this will be Horn’s 3rd loss in a row by guillotine??
I was checking out his record (Jeremy Horn’s), and I saw in 1999 he was 20-1. Not as a total record, but just for that year. Damn.
by Synyster [[2009 Year of Gegard Mousasi]] on Jan 13, 2009 10:45 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Yeah, that is pretty amazing actually. Dude is a true veteran that is still able to put up over 20 fights a year. I think hes going to lose tho. haha
by enzo-enormous on Jan 13, 2009 12:24 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Horn and cochroaches would be the only survivors of a nuclear holocaust
by McArthur on Jan 13, 2009 12:56 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
20 fights a year against who? If he is fighting twice a month, he is probably fighting a lot of guys that could not make it in any real promotion.
While I do like the fact that Horn just likes to fight, lets not kid ourselves into thinking that going 20-1 in a single year is the equivalent to going 20-1 on any of the top promotions.
by noneed4name on Jan 13, 2009 1:48 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I didn’t post that to try and say Jeremy Horn is an MMA God or anything, I just thought it was quite an accomplishment.
That being said Palhares by guillotine; a submission Horn seems to have forgotten how to defend.
by Synyster [[2009 Year of Gegard Mousasi]] on Jan 13, 2009 2:18 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Im on the same boat as Synyster. I dont even like Horn that much. I just think that is what a true fighter is all about. He is willing to fight anyone at anytime. Its really unheard of for fighters to fight that much. Thats a fight every other week almost. No time to train for your opponent at all.

I posted a long comment on the UFC 93 link (the little on on the right side of the page, with the Upcoming MMA Events) on my analysis of the event. Check it out guys.

How long does the weigh-ins last mania?
I’ve to book flights up and down for that day then I’m drivin the next
by IrishKev on Jan 13, 2009 8:06 AM EST reply actions 0 recs
Hey mania! just wondering do all fans (i.e. non fight club members) get in at 1pm?? Cant wait for this!!
by the dude on Jan 13, 2009 8:12 AM EST reply actions 0 recs
dude, i’m pretty sure anyone can get in to the arena and around the grounds from 1.pm. I imagine they’ll just section off part of the arean for the Q&A for fight club members.
by UKMMA on Jan 13, 2009 8:28 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
If its like any others Ive been too you’re more likely to be queueing longer to get in than the actual weigh-ins last.
Usually they last an hour or so long.
by Ca$z on Jan 13, 2009 6:06 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Seriously?! I presume that they can fit everyone in, and don’t have to turn any away?
I’ve been to a few boxing weigh-ins and waited that long or longer but didn’t expect the MMA ones to be that popular yet, my bad i guess ha.

Weakest card in a long time…save your money on this one folks.

how can you predict how the fights will go?? Be a fight fan, not a fighter fan….

this card is pretty good, its 95 that is going to be the worst in a long time…
by brendan on Jan 13, 2009 10:13 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
95 is free… But is guess you still won’t watch it, right.
by BNF on Jan 13, 2009 10:18 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
95 looks good to me…UFC 78 is the only UFC card I didn’t enjoy…but that might be because I didn’t smoke any weed before hand
by McArthur on Jan 13, 2009 10:22 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Which was 78? I didn’t really like the Bisbing/Rashad card. It could have also been because of my wife and the 2 cackeling hens that were sitting 5 feet behind me for the entire PPV.
by BNF on Jan 13, 2009 10:38 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Yup, the first time the UFC comes back to the tri-state area since UFC 55 and they put forth the WORST card in UFC PPV history…
by ViolentMike on Jan 13, 2009 11:24 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
dont like sanchez, dont like stevenson, could care less about chael sonnen, hate koscheck, not much of a fan of dan hardy… the only fight on the card that i care about is marquardt/gouveia, and to answer your question, no i probably wont watch it. ill probly just catch the results and then watch one or two fights on the internet… and quit trying to defend the UFC, you know this card is crap, just because it says UFC 95, and not Affliction 95, or DREAM 95, youre defending it for some reason unknown to me
by brendan on Jan 13, 2009 1:57 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
what a muppet.this card has got real good fighters against each-other.sure,there is no ‘superstar fan favourite’,sure, there’s no title-match.but seriously, this card is sold on raw talent as opposed to big names.fasted selling event ever, even quicker than brock v couture and the ultimate.this event will be the nuts,so introvert, take your pick from your fave fighters, check them out on youtube, and continue be an ‘online fan’.
by bons on Jan 13, 2009 6:53 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Some of the best cards have been the ones that looked the weakest. You just never know… The real fans will still watch it!
by JRK on Jan 13, 2009 10:14 AM EST up reply actions 0 recs
That statement is true more often than not. But after watching the countdown I am actually excited for this card.

This upcoming weekend is sure to be a weekend of excitement and cheer for UFC and MMA fans. UFC 93 in Dublin will be a fun fest of MMA cheer right after the holiday season, and with the card expected, should be a nice start to a jam packed 2009 MMA year.
